Bug? Scheduling a single day X for a throughput deduplication job on a volume in Server Manager ... Volume Configure Deduplication becomes day X-1 (previous day) in Task Scheduler

Scheduling a single day X for a throughput deduplication job on a volume in Server Manager>...>Volume>Configure Deduplication becomes day X-1 (previous day) in Task Scheduler
Using configure deduplication for a volume in Server Manager, I selected a file age of 0 days (for the initial run), throughput optimization and for the schedule Tuesday at 11:24 pm.
Going to Task Scheduler>Microsoft>Windows>Deduplication the job is now Scheduled to run Mondays at 11:24pm
Changing the day to Monday using configure deduplication changes the day in task scheduler to Sunday ... and so on.

Just for your information, this bug still exists in Server 2012 R2. I just stumbled across it today.

  • SQL Server Management Studio - Configuring the environment for first time use

    Hi
I have recently switched my local 'My Documents' folder location to a network drive that I 'make available off line' to allow on-line/off-line work and synchronisation when I am working in and out of the office.
When I load my SQL Server Management Studio 2005 I frequently get 'Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio is configuring the environment for first time use'.
Management Studio  them loads and I can continue without problem.
I am guessing it is trying to make reference to some settings file. Any ideas? I wonder if I can change/move these settings elsewhere to a local drive?
    Thanks

    Hi,
There is bug report of this issue:
    http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/126364/configuring-enviroment-for-the-first-time-every-time-in-ms-sql-server-management-express
"SQL Server Management Studio Express saves the settings for the user in ...\Documents and Settings\<User Profile>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\ShellSEM
    and in ...\Documents and Settings\<user profile>\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\ShellSEM
if any of these files are not available or unusable, SSMSE will generate new ones."
    Hope this helps.

  • Task scheduler service fails to run after windows update

    OS: W2008R2x64
We noticed that our daily tasks are not running anymore since the last windows updates few days ago. When running the task scheduler mmc, we get the following:
Looking further, the service did not seems to be running. If we try to start the service we get the follow message:
"The Task Scheduler service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
Now we noticed that did problem started after following updates, though not all machines are infected!!:

  • Windows 7 professional task scheduler

I have problem with task scheduler with 4 computers whic are in windows domain - server 2008.
In total there are 7 computers on 3 computers task scheduler runs batch file and all works ok, but on other 3 i have the same settings, task is not runned.I can run it in task cheduler with right click on task and run it, but itself doesn't run. But runs
on other 3 computers which are all the same and all windows 7 professional
All pcs runs the same batch file which is on shared folder on server.
I have runned it with folloved users: system, administrator, users, etc.
Batch file must be runned when system starts, when user login and at selected time.
    What can be wrong?
I never left an open problem....I search, dig and ask, until it's solved....

    Hi Blisk1,
    Thank you for your update.
I would like to suggest you refer to the link below to check the issue (although it applies to Windows xp):
HOW TO Troubleshoot Scheduled Tasks in Windows XP:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308558
As I know, if the service is not configured to log on as the local system account, it may not start.
To check the settings for the service:
    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Administrative Tools.
    2. Click Computer Management.
    3. Expand Services and Applications, and then click Services.
    4. Right-click the Task Scheduler service, and then click Properties.
    5. On the General tab, make sure that the startup type is set to automatic, and that the service status is Started. If the
service is not running, click Start.
    6. On the Log On tab, make sure that the local system account is selected, and that the Allow service to interact with desktop
check box has a check mark.
    7. Click OK, and then quit Computer Management.
    Hope it helps.

  • Calendar item does not appear in day view for Sunday August 1, 2010

I have a strange problem. I have an appointment on Sunday August 1, 2010. When in day view, and move from Saturday July 31 to Sunday Augsust 1 the appointment does not appear. However, if you look at list view or month view, it is there. If you continue to Monday and then go back to Sunday (all in day view) it appears. There is another person in my office with the exact same problem, so I know it is not just my phone. Anyone else have this issue? Any fix? I am concerned about appointments I will miss because of this. I added appoinments directly into the phone, no server, no exchange, no sync, same problem. It appears to be a bug in OS4.

Refer following link for understanding & solution:

    Hopefully this can assist you.

    Hi Anil
For your 1st question , if the delivery date is same but he material and quantity are different also then both can be delivered . So you can combine those two materials into 1 delivery . what you said is true
For your 2nd question , you said you have two line items in PO , but if you want combine them into 1 delivery document , then first of all as they are two different materials you cant combine , but if you have a 3 PO's for the one material only  then you can combine into one delivery by using VL10A

  • Create a new "actual day variable" for 0CALDAY

    Hello,
i want to create a new "actual day variable" for InfoObject 0Calday. The variable should have the same functions like 0DAT.
How can I create this? Coding for CMOD?
    Thanks and regards,
    Heiko

    Hi,
As I understand your question properly, You need a dynamic variable which will give the actual date i.e current date.
create a variable for 0calday with single value processing type customer exit. reay for input deselect.
    in cmod
    When 'vARIABLE FOR CALDAY'.
    CLEAR L_S_RANGE.
    L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
    L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'EQ'.
    L_S_RANGE-LOW = SY-DATUM.
    APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
    Regards,
    Ranganath.

  • The last scheduled refresh failed. Click for details

    Hi,
I have Discoverer scheduled results published in Portal via portlet.
The scheduled job is set to run everyday in Discoverer.
In Portal while publishing the results I set it up to refresh every day.
Though the discoverer scheduled job runs without any error I see in Portal the portlet is not refreshed.
It gives error "The last scheduled refresh failed. Click for details".
The details shows something like this
An error occurred while getting requested worksheet. BIB-10306 Object with name SWB:_LIBRARYEXECDIV_FORMAT/148142/1 could not be found.
    or like
    WWC-50003 - Object not found.
    Cause:
The specified path to the given object does not exist.
    Action:
Check that the path is valid. Path names are case-sensitive.
Can anyone help me with this
    Thanks
    Jay

    Hi.
I don't know any real solutiion, but why don't you try to delete that potrlet and create a new one.
It's a simple and fast way and it will usually help in simmilar situations. Only if the new portlet also fails, it's a time for deeper investigation...

  • Google calendar one day off for reocurring appts

I have an appt that repeats every third day and for some reason when my Goole calender synchs to my Pre it shows the appt one day off of what it supposed to be on the phone.  The appt show correctly on Google but not my Pre. For exapmle if the appt is is on the 25th it show as the 24th on my pre and then every third day after that throwing the dates way off.  Is this happend to anyone else??  Is there a fix??
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

I guess you havethe same problem as me... Check if the calendar you are talking about has a different time zone then your Pre... There is an annoying bug where recurring appointments in calendars that have a timezone before your pre get moved one day... sadly noone seems to be willing to address my bug report...

  • W7 64 Home: Task Scheduler looking for remote computer, can't defrag.

Needed to defragment HD, went to task scheduler, found that it is looking for a remote computer and options to schedule tasks are grayed out.
The option in the right panel for the local computer was selected (there are no "apply" buttons or such).  Closed Task Scheduler, reopened, found that it is still looking for a remote computer, options to schedule tasks still grayed out.
Logged in as Admin. Not on a network.
    Thank you

In Windows 7, Disk Defragmenter runs at regular intervals when your computer is turned on, so you don't have to remember to run it. It's scheduled to run once a week at an early hour in the morning. However, you can change how often Disk Defragmenter runs,
and at what time of the day.
Open Disk Defragmenter by clicking the Start button .
In the search box, type Disk Defragmenter, and then, in the list of results, click Disk
    Defragmenter.‌  If you're
prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click Configure schedule, and then do one of the following:
To change how often Disk Defragmenter runs, click the menu next to Frequency, and then click Daily, Weekly,
    orMonthly.
