Bug : Scrolling in CC app with Mac 10.8
Hello,
I have a problem with scrolling : my mousewheel doesn't work anymore, so I use the scrollbar a lot.
In Mac 10.8, you have a feature that hides the scrollbar by default, considering that everyone has a trackpad, or a working mousewheel (they should have not sold this "magic" mouse with this tiny button, which has a very low lifetime....).
Anyway, you can uncheck this feature and "always" show the scrollbar.
But even with this feature unchecked, the scrollbar inside Creative Cloud is hidden by default. The only way to show it is to scroll down a bit. But it is almost impossible for me to scroll down a bit, so it is almost impossible to download apps from the CC app....
Maybe i've missed something but I don't think so, and the Adobe bug report has no "creative cloud app" in the list of products, so I post it here.

I'm referring to the Creative Cloud Desktop on Mac.
You can easily try this bug : Check "always show scroll bars" in system preferences, and try to never use the trackpad to scroll. You'll see that in less than one second, the scroll bar will disappear inside the CC app.

Register Existing Apps with Mac App Store?
Is it possible to register existing Apps (ie. those purchased conventionally on disk) such as Pages etc. with Mac App Store so that I can manage all my Apple Apps that way?
You will need to wait until the next major paid upgrade to switch those apps to MAS management. Until then they should continue to get updates through Software Update, found in the Apple menu, as usual.

Using iPad and LogMein app with Mac Mini Server
Hello everyone, I'm new to the community and I would like to ask your opinions on something I'm considering.
I'm currently using a MacBook Air beyond its capabilities. I'm running a dual system via Parallels since some of my work programs are Windows based.
I'm planning to pass the MacBook Air down to one of my employees but I'm stuck on what I will purchase to replace it.
I like the new MacBook Pro, but I don't like the $2200+ price tag. So what I'm considering is buying a Mac Mini Server ($900) and setting it up in my office with a HDTV as a monitor because I use construction design programs and the laptop screen is just too small for large drawings. The Mac Mini also has 1TB storage vs 256GB on the MacPro. I already have an external disk drive so that's no issue either.
Also, since I still need mobile convenience, I'm considering downloading the "LogMein Ignition" app ($130) and using this to log in remotely with my iPad for complete access to all of my files and programs.
What are some pros and cons I should consider before making this move?

I disagree, Linc. PF is very useful to block known bad IPs and brute force attacks, which are an hourly occurrence, especially on ssh. I use this PF configuration for OS X, which blocks brute force attacks, updates IP blocks from emergingthreats.net, and more. My logs and pf table "bruteforce" are full of attacks and blocked sites (sudo pfctl -t bruteforce -Ts). I also run snort on OS X and can see that the snort alert triggers are greatly reduced by simply blocking all these packets at the network layer. -
Google Apps with Mac OS X Server configured clients?
Hi experts,
I'm considering a Mac Mini Server for file sharing and running as a server for a custom office application (MacPractice), but I'm uncertain how this would work with Google Apps that we're using today.
Specifically, we have a few iMacs that I'd like to allow any user to log into and have them auto-configured to use google apps in Mail and iCal. From the reading I've done, I think I can do this using the Preference Editor in Workgroup Manager.
My questions are:
1. Can anyone confirm that Mail and iCal can be configured using Preference Editor?
2. Also, I'm assuming I'll have to do a separate config setup for each user since their usernames on Google Apps are all different. Correct?
3. Finally, will the user's password for Google Apps in... say Mail... be stored locally on each iMac? i.e. Will they have to re-entre the password every time they log into a different iMac? Or can this be accomplished with a network based home directory (something I really don't want to do).

List all users/groups in Contacts App with Mac OSX 10.9 Server
I have installed Mac OSX 10.9 Server locally, and I am trying to set it up so that when a user opens Contacts, and goes to Directory Service it will list all of the users and groups (that have a mailing list) on the server. However, it will only show the users if they are searched for. Otherwise, it is blank.
As the error says - you need to fix the permissions on your preferences folder, and it sounds like you may be missing part of the Application Support folders or have a permissions problem there as well.
It sounds like something weird happened to your system that messed up permissions -- we see that happen often when people try to use Apple's migrate utilities between systems or disks (it doesn't copy everything, and messes up permissions). Fixing permissions with Disk Utility can help, but you may need to reinstall Photoshop to replace missing files/folders, and you'll still have to fix the permissions on your preferences folder. -
ToDo App with Mac Mail integration
Hi,
any recommendations on a proper todo applications on mac and iOS, which allows integration from mac mail (i.e. create todo's from an email (through automator or others)). Losing too much time creating todo's from scratch?

Are you aware that people make thrash apps beginning with the AA letter so they can be found before the other good apps? Its now hard to properly scroll the new app with all the thrash.

I was just scrolling through my apps when the screen suddenly froze. A force shutdown didn't work and when I pressed the silent on/off button, there was no vibration either. The frozen screen faded to white with a few lines and about 10 minutes later, the edges started to turn black, forming a ring which got larger till about 4 hours later, the screen turned completely black. I tried connecting to iTunes but it wasn't detecting the phone and I can't do anything with it now... When it turned completely black, I charged it and after a while, the low batt screen came on but it was fuzzy and flickering with the white ring... What to do know ???????
Restart your computer while holding down left mouse key. That will eject the CD and your Mac will start as normal.

I have recently purchased MacBook Pro with Mac OSX 10.7.3 Lion and I would like to install Final Cut Pro 6 Studio2, and it came up with this error: 'you can't open application FinalCutProStudio.mpkg because PowerPc apps are no longer supported......Is there a way to run FCP6 on lion withoput this error? Any help would be appreciated.....

I have itunes set up on a PC with all my music, apps, etc. I want to stop using PC and move my iTunes and files to a Mac I bought and synch my iPhone with the Mac. Can I just synch iPhone with Mac iTunes and will it copy all my stuff onto Mac, or will I have to copy files from PC onto Mac?

After I updated lion to 10.7.4, app store does not recognize my ID APPLE and it unable to connect me to app store in order to update/download apps? What have I to do? I have the same problem with mac mini e mac book air. Please help me!

Can I share apps with another user account on our mac even though its a different apple ID?
Husband and I have just bought a new Mac to share, but we've both got iphones and itunes of our own. I thought the best way to deal with this would be to have a user account each on the new Mac with our own iTunes, but this obviously means that each user account has a different apple ID associated with it. I've just bought Pages, Numbers and Keynote on my user account, is it going to be possible to share these apps with my husbands user account.
I've got a harrible feeling that I should have created a joint user account and apple ID, and I've just wasted the best part of £40...please tell me theres a way to fix this!!

You can, but you will have to update the applications from the user account with the Apple ID you used to purchase those apps. There isn't any other problem, but it may be illegal (but I think it's legal if you run them on the same Mac) -

Funny, I was thinking you'd want to use the prescribed deployment that Apple went to all the trouble to provide so you wouldn't trot down the garden path with some other implementation, only to find your app rejected with the admonition to use Newsstand after all...

Is anyone facing the similar problem of visible lag while opening app with 3G data on? It seems apple has made 5s slow to improve iphone 4 performance.5s was very smooth on 7.0.6 even with 3G data on. Is this a bug? Is apple going to fix this soon?
I have same Problem. I tried all options - Reset All Settings, Erase Content & reset all settings, Upgrated to IOS8.1, Restore using iTune. But problem persists.
When I turn Cellular Data or Wifi ON, then there is a lag while opening the Apps. But If I turn Data/Wifi off, phone becomes super fast. I have checked with my friends. They are not facing this issue. Not sure if Apple know this.
