[Bug] Spotify plays wrong track at startup.

Hey guys, I'm not quite sure if this is a bug, but this is what I found out:I usually just hit shutdown and do not close spotify via the red x button, I assume most of us do. But when I start my computer again, and spotify opens with Windows, the current track is not the last track I heard, its the last track I heard and then officially closed. So when I hear now song X from artist Y, and close my Spotify accuratly, then I am able to hear it once i restart my computer, but without closing Spotify accuratly, so just shutdown, I hear song A from artist B, which was the last track I heard and then closed accuratly. I hope this is explaining enough, im not mother speaker in english. Ask if you have questions!

I have the same issue. Also, when playing songs from "Popular" it plays the equivalent track number on the first album.
This seems to occur on the first album I play when starting Spotify. Going to another album resolves the issue and going back it's working as intended again.
Are you storing info from last played artist/album on shutdown and restoring it upon startup? Somehow the index on track-collections of last played artist seems to be +1 on startup.

  • Spotify plays wrong song (usually equivalent track number from subsequent album)

    Description
Whenever I try to play a song, spotify will play the equivilant track number from the next album down, and to play the song I want to I have to play the equivilant track number from the preceeding album.
A more detailed description, using numbered steps
    1. Tried to play the song I wanted to listen to (e.g. Bohemian Rhapsody on CD1 of the Queen Platinum collection) by double clicking or pressing enter button
    2. Song on the next album plays instead (One Vison on CD1 of Live at Wembly Stadium)
    3. To get original song to play I have to play the equivilant track number from the preceeding album (track 1 - Intro from Queen Rock Montreal)
    What I expected to happen
I expected the song I wanted to play... to play
    What actually happened
The song on the next album played (same track number, same CD number, next album down)

  • Spotify plays wrong songs

My desktop spotify has this really weird bug.Like 6 tracks play a  totally different song,or in some cases plays an acoustic version of the same song.So far i tried to uninstall and clean cache, but it keeps playing the wrong songs.I have no idea why and coudnt find any useful information in the forum. My phone plays the tracks right.I need help.

What songs are incorrect for you? I came to here to report the same issue. If I try to play (by using the web player) artist "The Greatest Bits", most popular song "Donkey Kong Country Theme", it starts playing Machinae Supremacy - Laser Speed Force. This has continued for a while now.

  • Remote control plays wrong track!?

hi, i have set up a DVD with four buttons playing 4 tracks, each of which has 1 chapter (or clip) and returns to the menu after playing. after i've burned the DVD and placed it into the DVD player, pressing the numbers 1 through 4 however causes the wrong tracks to play: for example pressing "1" plays track 1, pressing "2" plays track 3, "3" plays track 4, and "4" plays track 2!
I originally had the tracks arranged differently, where in the menu button 1 one was actually playing track 4, for example. but when i noticed this problem i went back and set it up so that track one contains clip 1, 2 contains 2 etc. hoping the problem had something to do with that.
it did not solve the problem...
can anyone tell me what i am missing here? i simpy want to have each corresponding track play accordingly when i click its number on my remote...
thx in advance for any help!
    frank

so the final question then is are all the assets in different tracks, and if so, what order are they in when you look in the outline view (top to bottom)?
ok, in outline view all tracks align (1-4) vertically, and each opens the appropriate asset in the track wiindow (bottom middle) when highlighted. so all seems logical right?
so i burned another one (fresh build - no recycled versions) and stuck it in the player - what happens? whn i am looking at the menu, and press "2" the dvd plays track 3... same problem, but check this out:
if i am watching one of the tracks (say 1) and i press number 2 on the remote the dvd jumps to track 2 (i.e. NOT 3) as it is supposed to... this works for all the other tracks also)
so it seems the incorrect jumping occurs only from the main menu.. though as far as i can tell that is clean. BTW this time i deactivated "auto assign" in the Menu> Settings pulldown before the build)

  • Spotify plays wrong song

I have a strange issue with my spotify on my PC. I have like 5 tracks on my spotify account that when I play them they play a totally different song that I never heard of. They were correct for a while then all of a sudden they started to play a totally different song.  I have tried many things to resolve the issue like logging off, reinstalling spotify, deleting all the cache, ect. When I play the songs on my Ipad or android device they are correct.  They are tracks that I listened more frequently than others but I really have no clue to why it won't play the correct song. I've searched the forum some to see if someone has the same issue but I couldn't find anyone who had the exact same issue. Help would be appreciated.

Hello:  I am referring to the Spotify Desktop app. In the settings there are options to add in local music files sources. I am just trying isolate where the issue might be at with the wrong songs being played. Sometimes it is a local music file that has not linked up correctly to a track in the spotify service, when local music files are added into the Spotify App. Unselect these local music file sources and doing a logout and log back in and then checking those same Spotify music tracks that at first played the wrong song, sometimes this action fixes this issue, and allows the user to then add back local music file sources and not have the issue reappear again.

  • IPod plays wrong track

    Hey!
I have searched but not found this problem. My IPod Nano will not play the right tracks. I press one track but it displays and plays another.
Yes, I have cleaned, reset, restored and updated iPod and iTunes.
I have an iPod Nano 4th gen and a MacBook Pro. I have these two as stand alone music making kit. I have few songs in iTunes appx 50.
Catch?! I use Logic to make a new track and I bounce it directly to iTunes.
I sync my iPod. New Track appears in my iPod. I press play and it shows ANOTHER TRACK and plays that other track!
I seems to work fine within iTunes. Bouncing tracks from Logic to iTunes makes appear and play correctly.

My wife and i have the same problem, each on different ipods and with different computers. We can't use your 'AAC' solution as the files are protected. The files/tracks--in this case audiobooks--play fine in iTunes and my music and podcasts have never had a problem. I've restored, upgraded, and I now even have a new Airbook running 10.6.1 and iTunes 9.0.2. The tracks/books play fine if they are loaded by themselves--even the different 'parts' of each book plays ok--but as soon as another book is loaded on the track I click on to play is not the one that ends up playing. Any suggestions out there?

  • How can I edit imported audio track? After selecting and deleting region and joining remaining parts, it keeps playing the track with the deleted part! What am I doing wrong?

How can I edit imported audio track? After selecting and deleting region, and joining remaining parts, it keeps playing the track with the deleted region!
    What am I doing wrong?

After selecting and deleting region, and joining remaining parts, it keeps playing the track with the deleted region!
    What am I doing wrong?
How exactly are you doing this?
When I cut out a part of an audio region, then drag the remaining parts together, so they are touching, the track will skip the cut out section when playing the file.  Also, if I select the remaining parts of the region and use the command "Edit > join regions". This will create a new audio file with the cut out part deleted.
You should see this prompt, when you are joining the regions:

  • ITunes can't play all tracks on a cd

I have a brand new Dell XPS 730 gaming pc. Previously, I was running Vista 32 bit that it came with. The other day I reinstalled Vista 64 bit and installed itunes for 64 bit vista. When I put in either regular audio cds or burned cds, itunes will only recognize a few tracks and just skip the rest. When trying to import a track it skips over it takes about one second and it sees it as being like hundreds of hours long. I tried multiple cd's that work PERFECTLY FINE in a cd player on my boombox. I also then tried these in Windows Media Player 11 and the same exact issue occurred. WMP gave an error message saying there was something wrong with my drive. I have two DVD-RW drives. I tried this all on both drives and same issue happened. I find it hard to believe that in the span of a day both of my drives had something go wrong with them that they can't read discs properly, especially when I can play any DVD games fine and can burn discs using my Roxio burning program perfectly fine as well.
I don't understand why the same problem would be happening in WMP if it was a problem with itunes. I'm guessing it could be an issue with Vista 64 bit not working properly with the DVD drives, i'm not too sure. I just find it odd that this problem would crop up when my pc was working fine in 32 bit with iTunes. Anyone else having this problem, and anyone actually found a solution to it yet?
Below is the diagnostic I ran with a regular audio cd in each drive that work fine on my boombox cd player. It's definitely not recognizing them properly as you can see in the track times of like 20 hours plus when they're only 4 to 6 minutes long.

I have a similar issue, pleae let me know if you've figured this out.
On mine, it will play approx 1 minute of an audio CD, then quit. Will not play subsequent tracks at all, and skips them as you describe when trying to import. Same result in iTunes and Windows Media player. But I was able to play a DVD movie and also to burn a copy of a CD. Very odd.

  • Unable to play any tracks from AC/DC in Windows player (currently running 1.0.9.133)

When I play any track by AC/DC, Spotify comes to a screeching halt. No crash, no hang...just silence. The track progress indicator at the bottom of the screen never moves (like it can't start the track). Despite the play indicator showing that a song is playing, click on it several times to switch back & forth between play & pause changes but it never plays the track(s). If the song is part of a playlist with other artists, my only recourse is to skip the track--and assuming that it's another artist, the music resumes. Going to the AC/DC artist page produces no sounds from my speakers (just lots of mumbling & cursing from me). I am a premium subscriber so I tried playing an AC/DC track from the same playlist on my Android phone. Holy crap, it plays the song from the Android client! Jumping back over to my Windows player...no go :-( So it's not something I've done--at least not obviously...but it seems to remain a problem with ONLY the Windows player! The problem has existed for me ever since AC/DC (finally, yes!) has come on to Spotify & only occurs when playing any of their songs. If there is any additional information that I can provide, I'd be glad to do so. Thank you for the help! --L

I'm in the US. UPDATE: I figured out what the hell the problem was! When I got home last night, I tried playing AC/DC tracks on my laptop running the Spotify Linux client. It wouldn't play either, however, with the older build it was attempting to reference MP3 files that I used to have locally--it was trying to play files that weren't there! (Slight rant: pre-1.0 releases are better in visually representing which tracks are local & which ones are streamed.) Once I cleaned up the list of what Spotify thought I had locally though, the sweet sounds of AC/DC came out of my laptop :-) So now back on my Windows box, I had to go through a few technical gymnastics to get it to properly update the list of local files that are actually there, but much like the experience on my laptop, AC/DC trans now play properly! tl;dr: Spotify was confused & trying to play missing local MP3s instead of streaming from their servers. Forcing the client to reimport my local files solved the problem.

  • Wrong track order in ipod

My ipod has the wrong track order for at least three different albums of three different artists. Its only one song on each of the albums. All the album info is correct and in itunes the songs are all in the right order. I've restored the ipod twice to no avail. Any ideas

the only thing I can suggest is make sure your playlists are in the right order when syncing, so maybe have your albums in the right order when syncing? I know my purchased playlist is in whatever order I sorted it last...usually by play count. SO my most played song is at the top of that playlist. Maybe it works like that for albums too, so make sure the songs on the album are sorted by track #

  • Music doesn't start when selected from playlist have to push pause then start. Always playing one track behind what is on screen

Music doesn't start when selected from playlist have to push pause then start. Always playing one track behind what is on screen as my I-pad worksorks fine

Same problem here, since upgrading to IOS-5.  Whenever I try to shuffle or play a genius mix (or even simply play an album) the iPod will skip the first one or two songs, play one song and then 'crash'.  I say 'crash' because it selects the next song and then nothing happens - the player isn't paused, and it appears to think it's playing, but the time bar doesn't change and no sounds come out.  Occasionally I've noticed the album artwork is wrong too.
Rebooting does NOT work - I've tried it a number of times.
Is this just an iPod problem??  If so, I would be surprised if Apple do anything quickly about it - they're more worried about iPhone problems I expect, and we (iPod users) are just the poor relations...  C'mon Apple - SORT IT OUT!!!!

  • [iOS][Radio] ability to go back to a previously played radio track

The radio function is great, however it might be even better if we could jump back to a previously played radio track so we can add it to a playlist or even simply "like" it.   Currently you need to do either of these while the track is playing, which makes it a bit of a challenge to try and lose yourself in the music.  Many times the track has finished and I've thought, "that was great - I'll add it to a playlist", only to realise the app on the phone won't let me go back to it.   Thanks

I pod nano, 7th gen intermittently verbally lists chapter and book names and plays several tracks simultaneously

    Thanks Erik,
If nothing else, this huge list of updates and fixes, shows clearly that the Logic Dev team is working hard on fixing and improving LPX to a major degree.... and from the list of fixes done.. show they do read the bug reports submitted!
    As an aside....
I recall how all the 'naysayers' prior to LPX (and in some cases, since...)  were proclaiming how Logic was dead, the team was being disbanded, we won't see any further development, the Dev team doesn't listen or care... and so on....... I wonder where those people are now?

  • Shared library : client iTunes shows grossly wrong track time...

Bit of a weird one here.
When I connect to my shared library (wireless LAN), when the library is loaded all the track times are displayed correctly. However, if I try to play one of the tracks from the client machine, suddenly the displayed track time changes dramatically (e.g. from 5:00 to 34:24) and the time remaining, while the track is playing, reflects this too.
However (1) if you let the track play to where it should end, it does end when it should and (2) if you play the track on the machine that contains the shared library this does not happen.
I'm sure this has started happening only recently (both machines are running latest iTunes 7.6.2)
    Any ideas?
    Neil

After some digging around it turned out to only affect files that were encoded using VBR, though I tried to "convert" some of the problematic files using iTunes to VBR (so, VBR to iTunes VBR) and they worked OK.
I should've added that I don't do my ripping and encoding with iTunes. I rip with Max (to FLAC) and transcode the FLAC files to MP3 with LAME (command-line). Originally my trancoding script was using VBR - I changed it to use CBR (192) and the problem seems to have been fixed.
However, there is obviously some quirk with playing VBR MP3s via a shared library as, as I described originally, you don't get this behaviour on the local machine. It's only when you try to access the songs over the network that the track time gets all messed up.
I'm going to leave this marked as "unanswered" for the time being as I believe that this is an iTunes bug.
    Neil

  • My iPod Nano 5G plays wrong songs!!

I have. An iPod Nano 5g and recently he plays wrong song I select a song, the title is displayed, but the iPod is playing a different song. How can I fix it? The iPod has never gejailbreak, and restore in itunes (via the Internet) failed.

Are you sure you have the files tagged correctly in iTunes?  When you play this same track in iTunes is it the correct song?
