Bug: Startup Parameter not detected on Interface scenario generation

Hi,
I'd like to report a bug in ODI when generating a scenario from an Interface.
When a variable is used in the Diagram tab there is no problem, so this can be the work around.
However when one uses a variable on the flow tab in one of the KM options, you'll find that variable is not detected when generating a scenario from this interface.
The KM I'm using is: IKM SQL to Hyperion Essbase (DATA)
Here the RULE_FILE option is set to: #vDataLoadRule -- (Also tried '#{project_name}.vDataLoadRule' )
Hope this can be solved in new release, so one is not forced to make non sense where clauses in the interface.
How to use the work around?
If you do not yet have a filter on your source, then:
Create a Filter on your source data store, by dragging and dropping a field.
in the filter set something like this:
{DataStore}.{DataField} = {DataStore}.{DataField}
and #{myVariable} = #{myVariable}
Otherwise, just add the following to an existing source filter:
and #{myVariable} = #{myVariable}
This will create an where clause on your source, which is always true.
Hope this helps!
Rudy

Hi John, thanks for your quick reply.
Doing it dynamicaly is my way to build stuff.
So I've the situation where need to load data to several cubes (more are coming).
I want my life to be easy (as there is more to life...) and so I've created a package that does the following:
Get details of the cube that needs to be processed and process it. The benefit is, that I only need to create a new interface (not a whole package) and register it in my essbase metadata table when a new cube is built.
Of course I can drag the Interface into that package, but then that package is only capable of running that interface, since there is no way to set a variable Interface name.
Hence, I need the interface as an scenario, so that I can make it dynamic.
I have a package that initializes the variables e.g. #vDataLoadRule, #vDataLoadName, #vDataLoadVersion, Which I get from my sql table that holds my Essbase Database metadata ( Server, Application, DatabaseName, DataLoadName, DataLoadVersion, DataLoadRule) and then runs the scenario. The DataLoadName and DataLoadVersion are name and version of the Scenario (Interface) that needs to be processed.
So with that as a background, I'd like to have dynamic Interfaces.
The problem is that when you use a variable in the diagram tab of the interface it's perfectly detected when you generate a scenario of the interface, however when you use the variable in the flow tab, it's not detected on scenario generation.
To me that's a bug.
Cheers!

  • OVM Server 2.2.1 in a ProLiant BL680c G7 did not detect networks interfaces

    Hello everybody
I just installed OVM Server in a HP ProLiant BL680c G7 and the installation finish. But the network interfaces was not detected. (The installation skip the network steps)
The Server have 24 network interfaces (FlexFabric Embedded Ethernet)
Any idea in order to recognize network interfaces??
    greetings

    Hi,
try using OVM 2.2.2 which was released a week ago. (edelivery.oracle.com/linux)
A lot of drivers were updated, maybe now your network cards are also detected.

  • Fingerprint Reader Not Detected during startup on Windows 7

    Dear Community Users/Tech Guru,
I am hoping somebody could shed light into a weired issue I am facing with this *stupid* Microsoft OS. I purchased a T400 last year and brought a x64 bit Windows 7 three months ago and have it setup for clean installation. I followed the procedure published in lenovo.
I had the security setup of my notebook to use pre-desktop authentication and single sign-on. I had everything setup and running.
However, after a few weeks I began to noticed that upon power up and giving a fingerprint swipe on the bios authentication, it would halt on the windows startup page (where we would normally login). It turns out that the fingerprint device is not detected! Something is not workin properly during the startup of bill gates Microsoft Windows 7! I would try a reboot on the system and it will load properly afterwards.
But I find it stupid that Windows doesn't detect my fingerprint device on startup! This happens when it's a cold boot using a battery (at least 70% of the time it turns out that way). I disabled  the single sign-on but retained the desktop authentication (means I have to swipe twice). But this f*ck OS is still not detecting it during cold start.
    Anyone... please advice?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I attempted to reset the policy settings of CSS but then the pop up screen just got stuck:
    - I did a reboot and reset the fingerprint data and password (after exporting the
      settings),
    - uninstalled the fingerprint reader and CSS
    - uninstalled the CSS. I had encountered some issues while uninstalling it
Windows is reporting that the installation log file could not be found. I manually
downloaded the driver from the site and used the installer to remove it from my PC
    - Reinstalled both CSS and Fingerprint driver
    - Import all my security settings (password and fingerprint)
    - Tested CSS and used fingerprint as default login method in battery mode
    - Enabled Single SignIn method in CSS and BIOS
So far so good, the reinstallation fixed the issue. I did recall that there was a windows update before this mayhem on the fingerprint reader started.

  • TS1521 Garageband not detecting my microphone/usb audio interface

    Hello all.
This is what i have here: an old but barely used Tascam US-122L USB 2.0 Audio/MIDI Interface with a Tascam LD-74 phantom mic, which both of them work. The problem is garageband is not detecting them. My interface is plugged into the usb port is telling me my mic is picking up sound.
But when i go to system preferences, then sound, input,  it only has Internal microphone and Line in with the type being microphone port and audio line-in port respectively. The input volume for the Line in is in the middle but is showing no signs of sound being picked up.
When i go to garageband, preferences, Audio/MIDI, it only gives me for microphone built-in mic and built-in input. Of course on the track info pane where you select mono 1 built-in input, mono 2 built-in input, Stereo 1/2 built-in input, there is no sign of my mic or interface. I've searched this question over and over and still can't find the answer. Help please.

I tried that once and the mac told me that they weren't recognized, couldn't be unzipped or whatever. But I just downloaded the most recent driver and it worked.

  • MXI-3 interface not detected?

    Hello to you all,
I was using PXI/PCI 8335 with PXI 1000B chassis. Everytime I run the MXI-3 optimization it says MXI-interface not detected.
    I checked the LEDs.
For PXI-8335, the PWR and RX were both solid on, one green and the other orange. For PCI-8335, the PWR and TX (nor sure it's TX or RX, just the one in the same row with PWR) were both solid on, one green and the other orange.
    No LINK light.
The whole system was powered in proper sequence and the fibre optic cable was fine.
So there seems to be something wrong with the cards.
I was wondering is there any way to know particularly which one of PXI-8335 and PCI-8335 doesn't work well without replacing them one by one, since I don't have any extras?
Like, does the LED tell other information except they are not linked?
    Thank you in advance.
    Yaqiong

    Yaqiong,
In general you can't differentiate between a bad transmitter on one side or a bad receiver on the other, so it's often hard to tell which side is bad.
In your case, it sounds like one side or the other has a broken transceiver.  Power and RX on both sides means the boards aren't communicating at all, meaning a transceiver is bad, or a cable is bad in both directions, or a cable is not plugged in or is plugged in backwards.  If you power it up without a cable you should get the same LED behavior -- PWR and RX, the two LEDs next to each other.
If that's the case (same LEDs without a cable as with a cable), you should be able to tell which card is bad if you connect both ends of a half cable to one card (a loopback).  On a working card connecting RX to TX will "link" to itself according to the LEDs (at least it did for me on both the PCI and PXI card).  On a broken card you'll get something else.

  • Mac Mini does not detect DVI display on startup

Okay, I have a Pre 2009 Mac Mini 2Ghz Core 2 Duo. My monitor is a Westinghouse Digital LCM-22w3. The display is hooked up through DVI. When I start or restart the mac, it seems that it does not detect the display is plugged in. I have to wait for OS X to finish booting to either put the mac to sleep and bring it out of sleep or unplug the DVI cable and plug it back in to get the display on. If I hook the display via VGA using the VGA to DVI converter there is no problem. I have tried resetting the NVRAM but that does not fix the problem. I would like to get this fixed so I don't have to switch cables to be able to boot my boot camp windows install. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Following some investigations the problem appears to be with the power saving features of the monitor.
The MAC mini knows that the monitor is connected but the monitor puts itself to sleep.
The problem appears only when you use a single link DVI-D cable.
These are the ones with two blocks of nine pins with one large blade.
If you use a Dual link DVI-D cable (twenty four pins and one blade) the problem resolves itself and the display is active from power on.
It looks like the mini or the monitor is using one of the pins from the middle block of six for some reason.
Anyway, good look with this, I had a couple of spare DVI cables from when I was trying to get my original G4 mini working with my TV.
    Regards
    Gavin

  • My Motherboard is not detecting my vid card at startup! HELLLLP!!

It seems my motherboard is not detecting my GeForce4 MX 420. It makes 1 long and 2 short beeps, and according to BIOSCENTRAL (http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/amibeep.htm) it is a Vid ROM prob.
How do I fix this?? It seems that the PC is working, but the light on the monitor is orange (normally means that PC is shut, when monitor on).
    PLEASE HELP ME!!
Iam going crazy, I have to do things, and I cant!
    AHHH the specs:
    2.4 GHZ P4
    256 MB RAM Kingston (2 128MB RIMMs)
    60gb 7200RPM Maxtor
    MSI Nvidia GeForce4 MX 420 (64MB)
    MBoard: Intel D850EMV2
I CANT GET IRQs CAUSE THE MONITOR IS ALWAYS BLACK AS I EXPLAINED PREVIOUSLY!
    HHEEEEELLLPPP!!

    After further review
I think you have an image until windows boots, am I correct? You can at least see the POST screen and can enter the BIOS correct?
Perhaps the drivers have become corrupted. Try to get into safe mode, then make sure you have the driver version you are currently using available and go to the control panel and uninstall the drivers via the Add Remove programs icon. Restart and re-enter Safe mode and re-install the drivers again.
If you see some progress is being made but still have problems, you may have to use a Driver Cleaner program, you can find info at the top of this VGA forum on that and make sure you read ALL documentation.
Try to think of any changes or programs installed or un-installed prior to this event and let us know.
PS You never told us what OS is in use.....

  • Arch does not detect /dev/sdb

    HI everybody,
Like the title says, Arch does not detect a second SATA hard drive I have installed on my computer.
I've searched around Google and the forums and I've doesn't found any helpfull tip.
The Arch installation is fresh, I just made it tonight, and cfdisk (during the installation) had recogniced the drive.

I had the drive connected to a eSATA port, but I pluged it to a ordinary SATA port, and the result is the same.
    The configuration on the BIOS:
    ATA/IDE Mode -> Native
    Configure Storage as -> IDE
It doesn't show more valuable information except for the location of any drive on any SATA port.
dmesg output, it can be useful for someone:

  • External monitor not detected on Thinkpad W530 intel-virtual-output

I'm having problems with connecting my ThinkPad W530 to external monitors since a few months. I'm using NVIDIA Optimus and bumblebee/optirun since the VGA and Mini DisplayPort connectors are only wired to the NVIDIA card om this laptop. For a long time I have executed:
    $ optirun true
    $ intel-virtual-output
Then I have started the Screens GUI tool in Gnome to setup the placement of the external screen but now the external screen is not present in the GUI tool and xrandr gives me:
    Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 32767 x 32767
    LVDS1 connected primary 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 344mm x 193mm
    1920x1080 60.00*+ 50.00
    1400x1050 59.98
    1280x1024 60.02
    1280x960 60.00
    1024x768 60.00
    800x600 60.32 56.25
    640x480 59.94
VGA1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
VIRTUAL1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
If I select "Discrete mode" and select startup screen as VGA in the BIOS the BIOS and the Grub screens shows on the external monitor but the screen locks on the screen that shows that the system is booting with the linux-ck kernel. This has never worked for me in Arch Linux so that is no surprise. In Ubuntu everything everything worked fine the last time I tried.
How can I debug this? Why is the external screen not detected any more?

Thanks, I am not sure exactly how to read the logs but I cannot find anything that is obviously wrong
Below is my log with an external screen connected via Mini DisplayPort and after running:
    $ optirun true
    $ intel-virtual-output
a few times, no more logs seem to be added when I connect/disconnect the monitor or when I run the above two commands more times.

  • Windows did not detect any networking hardware, Windows 7, New Hard Drive

Message "Windows did not detect any networking hardware"
    Satellite P505 S8980 Windows 7 Home Premium.
I replaced the Toshiba 500 GB HD with 500 GB Seagate.
Device Manager icon for any device with yellow exclamation mark,
Click on "Update Driver".  Lan eNet details as follows:
    Antheo - R8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)
Browse to the folder where the setup program has the driver...
Message: "The best driver software is already installed."
(But the yellow exclamation mark still harasses me.)
--- Go to "Setup new connection" ---
    "Choose a connection option"
Click on "Connect to the Internet"
Response: "Windows did not detect networking hardware"
As near as I can tell, that translates from error 0x8E5E0247
I have this same error on other yellow exclamation marks respective of what kind of device it is.
=> To test my sanity, I put the old hard drive (same size) back in and except for the impact of slowness due to error retries, everything works okay.
    Note:
Same issue (hardware not detected) for Video adapter and Audio.
I bought new USB Wireless adapter to test, and the driver installed but not activated because "not digitally signed", and that same issue fits all the above hardware.  I down loaded them from Toshiba, and they are confirmed installed, but not accepted with digitally signed.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled with same results.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I'm discovering I am not as well as I thought... running on the  AF hard drive which was built with a copy drive from old format drive which was the product of system recovery disc set.
Review for context: Advanced Function HDD
Scenario that exposes harm caused by cloning data from 4K blocks drive to 512 bytes blocked drive (AF)
Toshiba supplied Windows-7 System Restore Discs: to factory state
Then I built the Windows-7 Repair  Disc... used later.
Hard drive was replaced when it caused SMART warning at every system boot.
Acronis was only utility that quickly detected problem (3 sectors had permanent read errors.) Active@Disk Image and Power Quest Drive Image (Ghost) did not detect the issue.
I tried Seagate 500 GB and Western digital 500 GB HDD drives as copy target.
That new drive would not boot: "Required source not found"
Booted My newly created Windows-7 repair disc, and used to to fix startup.
    See images.
That worked and then the ST9500423AS disc booted.
Now... next day I discovered Window Update is not working.
    I get message:
Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You need to restart your computer.
I ran Microsoft Fixit for updates.  It says it fixed two items.
    I still have the problem.
    The service shows "started"
Control Panel/ ACTION Center/ Maintenance/ Check for Updates
     "No action needed"
"Windows Update does not require any action"
    I checked  Update History...
... It is empty, else window is vacant... blank.
Soooo..... for a sanity check, I swap out hard drive; go back to the old format (which is the one I copied).
It works!  7 updates to install, including SP1... but I did NOT install them.
Switch back to the AF drive... Update doesn't work. I am broke again.
Is this another strange problem caused by the Advance Format issue?
    What to do?
By the way... I did install an Intel storage Matrix driver  update, but I do not have RAID chip, so that driver is not for me... unless I missed out on something.

  • Cinema Display not detected

I got my 20" Cinema Display back from repair today (backlight problem) and now I can't get my MacBook Pro to detect that it's attached. While it was at the repair center, I used a CRT as a second monitor. So today, I just closed the MBP (didn't shut it off, which I think is what cause the problem), disconnected the CRT, connected the ACD and opened the MPB back up. Completely black screen, with the little LED on all the time.
    So, troubleshooting:
    - The MBP still detects the CRT
    - ACD is detected by both a G4 and G5
    - A different 20" ACD is ALSO not detected by my MBP
    - Reset NVRAM and SMC
    - Booted MBP in safe mode
    - Booted MBP from startup CD
    - Tried various resolutions while the CRT was connected, thinking maybe it was stuck on one that's not compatible with the ACD
    - Moved and recreated the com.apple.windowserver.* files
I'm running 10.4.9 and here's what the graphics/displays info says, WITH the Cinema Display connected:
    ATI Radeon X1600:
    Chipset Model: ATY,RadeonX1600
    Type: Display
    Bus: PCIe
    VRAM (Total): 256 MB
    Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
    Device ID: 0x71c5
    Revision ID: 0x0000
    ROM Revision: 113-xxxxxx-086
    EFI Driver Version: 01.00.086
    Displays:
    Color LCD:
    Display Type: LCD
    Resolution: 1680 x 1050
    Depth: 32-bit Color
    Built-In: Yes
    Core Image: Supported
    Main Display: Yes
    Mirror: Off
    Online: Yes
    Quartz Extreme: Supported
    Display:
    Status: No display connected
Been messing with this for four hours, and I still have a blank display. Any other ideas? From one thread someone mentioned replacing the logic board fixed a similar problem.
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    UPDATE:
I just got back from my visit to a mac genius. Of course Murphy's law was in full effect! With my MBP connected to the cinema display in the Mac store, everything worked as it is supposed to.
Well, I rush home thinking that maybe mine would now work - - no luck! He did suggest that I try connecting analog with the provided dvi-to-vga adapter. This suggestion DID work! BUT, I want my video digital! That is why even though I was happy with the iBook G4 that I bought last year, I wanted digital video + expanded desktop!
I think I will make another reservation with the Mac Genius, but this time, bring my monitor. Will keep you posted...

  • MSI x48c platinum - does not detect SATA HDDs

I am having some problems with a pc build with motherboard not detecting SATA HDDs (MIS x48c Platinum).
I believe I have exhausted all other avenues, and I would appreciate some help if I have missed something obvious.
(details of other components are listed at end of mail).
When I built pc using these components, and went into BIOS settings, the SATA HDD's were not detected.  I tried changing BIOS settings, but no difference if SATA, AHCI, or IDE settings.
I removed the HDDs and successfully tested them in another machine (also formatted them while had them istalled in other pc).
IDE optial drives are detected.  I have tried to boot with these disconnected to ensure no isues with both IDE and SATA drives connected, but this did not resolve issues.
I have also tried connecting HDD to different onboard SATA ports, and connecting just one drive with no success.
Resetting BIOS defaults, and using clear CMOS reset did not resolve issues either.
Sometimes on boot, it takes a few attempts to boot correctly, and on these occassions I receive an error message "Warning !!! The previous performance of overclocking is failed, and the system is restored to the default settings, Press any key except "DEL" to enter setup ......."  I haven't tried to set any over clocking.
I read about a number of issues on MSI forum related to SATA drives which were resolved by BIOS upgrade (mobo was shipped with v.7.0 released 20 March 08).  I managed to install an old IDE HDD and flash BIOS, but still no resolution of issues detecting SATA drives (BIOS V.7.2 released 29 July 08).
I've tried everything I can think of at this stage.  Is there anything else I should try, or is there something wrong with this motherboard?
    Spec:
    Motherboard:
    343949 MSI X48C Platinum, X48, Socket-775,
    DDR2/DDR3, ATX, GbLAN, 2xPCI-Ex(2.0)x1
    Other components in build:
CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
Graphics Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 512MB
    HDD 2 x Samsung SpinPoint T166 500GB
    RAM 4GB (2x2GB) GeIL DDR3 1333MHz Value Dual Channel (7-7-7-24) PC3-10660
PSU 700W X-Power ATX SLI PSU
ODD DVD & CDR drives from an old pc - IDE connections.

i just remember     i had once similar problem with a sata driver. the issue is this you can not adjust everything in bios in one go and expect mobo to know about it. what i mean is this for instance you disable the raid then you save it and exit and then when it reboot you go back to bios and reset another another parameter,  you save and exit and on reboot you go back to bios and reset another parameter. i got round the prob that way and it worked and mobo saw the sata HDD. give this a shoot good luck and finally make sure raid is disabled
this is what i would do
1- make sure the jumper setting on your IDE Hdd is correct (Y may have to try this twice as there are two different setting on jumper setting for Master)
    2- connect the sata HDD
    3-click on power
4-go to bios and disable raid save exit
5-on reboot go back to bios
6--on first option click on it then you should see all devices that can be seen by mobo if you do not see sata HDD you have to click on enable for the auto to see the device once it sees the device save and exit. REMEMBER THE JUMPER SETTING  ON IDE HDD CAN CAUSE PROB . SO try the other jumper setting for master, repeat this procedure once more hopefully you get it right

You really have to mess with the resoluton, espescially the refresh rate, as it varies from projector to projector, monitor to monitor. Even within the same brand! Because so many manufacturers are trying so many different things to become the next cool kid on the block, and the way the formats are being configured that's now part of the game.
That's why so many professionally produced corporate shows hire a dedicated projectionist for the video presentations. Too many bugs in the honey.
Refresh & sesolution are the first things to look at.
Just so you know that colors in PowerPoint PC, and PowerPoint Mac, don't exactly match... go figure.
I forgot to mention another thing, sometimes it's the projector that needs to be tweaked.

  • IPod 5th Gen constantly resets and is not detected

My iPod 5th Gen erased all my music and constantly resets when plugged in.  I've searched far and wide through support to no avail so I look to the community to aid my quest to load music to my iPod again.  Thanks in advance for the help!
    Situation:
    - music and all data erased suddenly and is currently in factory settings
    - when iPod is plugged in to computer, the iPod screen shows (in order):
° "connected, eject before disconnecting" (~5 seconds)
° off screen, completely blank (~1 second)
° apple logo appears as if restored (~5 seconds)
         ° repeat perpetually
    Attempted Remedies and Scenarios:
    - restore iPod via select / menu buttons
    - try running Disc Mode via select / play buttons
    - restore iPod via iTunes (cannot attempt because it is not detected under devices)
    - reformat and erase all data in iPod via iTunes (cannot attempt because it is not detected under devices)
    - reformat iPod via Disk Utility (iPod is not detected on Mac so cannot select)
    - attempted all of the above with the following variables:
° with pc running Windows 7, iTunes current
° with Mac mini running Mavericks, iTunes current
° with Macbook Air running Mavericks, iTunes current
° tried all USB ports on all above computers
° tried 2 separate 30-pin USB cables (both USB cables work with my iPhone 4s)
         ° iPod is fully charged
         ° restart all computers

Hi everyone..  just found the solution... conveniently after I start a thread.  Turns out that my iPod nano had converted all 7.3GB of my 8GB into "Other" space and reset all my settings.
    Solution is as follows:
    - run disc mode while plugged-in (running Macbook Air)
    - restore dialog box appears via iTunes while in disc mode
    - restore iPod nano
    - upload music
    - enjoy
