Bug? Stuck in album art mode!

Apparently, there's some sort of glitch in color iPods that allows you to get "stuck" in album art mode (the screen you get when you hit the select button twice in Now Playing). I've only verified this on my 20GB color iPod.
I know this sounds ridiculous, but try the following: Play any song, retreat to the main menu on your iPod, and select Now Playing. Now click the select button twice, the menu button once, and the select button once again, all within the timeframe of about one second. You have to do it fast.
Your iPod should now be "stuck" in album art mode. Not only will the screen not go away after a few seconds as it usually does, but you can navigate to other songs, and the iPod will behave as if the album art screen were the default Now Playing screen. To get out of this, click the select button a few times, and your iPod should be back to normal.
If anyone else can verify this, that'd be great.

This is a known "feature". A lot of people rather look at the full screen art than the "Now Playing" screen.
I found a much better looking way to do this. Simply add all the album art to the iPod as photos. When the music starts playing, go back to the Main Menu, select Photos -> Photo Library, then Select the appropriate album art photo. Or, select any photo, then scroll through them the same way you change the volume level. The display is now truly "full screen", with the artwork as big as it can be, and on a black background. The only downside is that the backlight remains on (not a problem if you're connected to power). You can at this point press Select and start a slideshow with your artwork...

  • Stuck on album art when song is playing

when music is playing I don't see title or time or anything, just a box with the album art in it which is most of the time blank, it happened out of no where kinda confused about it

    Hey!
The original postee was asking why no artwork was displayed after copying their CD's to iTunes. This will not happen until the A/W is loaded into iTunes either manually by means of scanning the CD insert or, as I suggested, using a free app.that will automatically search the 'net for you.Whether your way works or not is by the by.iTunes makes it as easy as pie to do,within the iPod's dedicated OS,so why do it any other way?

  • Stuck on album art

here is a true story about me and my ipod:
once upon a time, a girl went for a run. She took her iPod with her. When she stopped at an intersection, she looked at the album art of a new song. When she pressed the center button the album art went a way off one side of the screen and came back instead of the song information. she changed the playlist, the song, and the artist. None of this had any effect. now she is very sad and wondering why album art is all she sees.
    questions
Why did the ipod only display album art from that minute forth?
How does the girl fix the ipod so she doesn't always see album art?

Try a reset. It cures many ills and nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Cover Flow Blurred Album Art - Bug?

Cover Flow is losing focus on whatever the displayed album art is after a few seconds of scrolling (image becomes burry). Once this happens it stays that way and affects all album art until Cover Flow is exited. Happens at random, doesn't seem to be caused by any particular piece of album art. Can most often (but not always) be reset by going out of Cover Flow mode either by going to a non-landscape mode or exiting Cover Flow altogether, but it is extremely annoying to be continually dropping in and out of Cover Flow to try to read the album art. It didn't do this when I had only a few album covers, but once I started loading it up with a bunch of stuff I started having problems. Could this be something like a single defective album art image file causing Cover Flow to go wacko, or is it simply a general bug? Any fixes or anyone else having this problem?

Yep, The blurry coverflow happens to me ONLY if I haul * across the albums then it catches up to me in about 2 seconds.....
I guess this time is needed to render the artwork?
I have never had to exit for it to work properly. I also noticed something like this happening when flipping quickly through pictures.

  • No album art in off-line mode with spotify app version 1.0.0.3251

The iOS developer team is aware of the problems with album art.
Hopefully they will be fixed in the next update. Please be patient until then. I know it's annoying to wait so long.

I just upgraded my iphone spotify app to version 1.0.0.3251.  With this version album art is not shown when listening in off-line mode.  Extremely dissappointing, hoping this is just a bug and will be corrected soon.  If not, how can i go back the the previous version of the app?  My Iphone is a 3GS running the latest iOS release for that model which is 6.1.6.

Hello everyone.  Spotify 2.1.0 has been released to the App Store as of this morning. We believe this issue to be fixed in this latest version. Please post here to let us know if the problem persists.

  • (ios5 ipad bugs)I can't get changes of album art, artist, album and other tags to show up in the iPad music player, but they show up correctly in the iTunes device view. Certain random songs do not sync correctly.   Wifi sync hasn't worked yet.

(ios5 ipad bugs)I can't get changes of album art, artist, album and other tags to show up in the iPad music player, but they show up correctly in the iTunes device view. Certain random songs do not sync correctly.   Wifi sync hasn't worked yet.
I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
I don't sync  music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them.  Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view.  I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes.  My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.
Thank you for actually making it to the end of this manuscript of annoyances.

Just wondered if anyone had any other suggestions.

  • How to resize album art pictures in Albums view mode?

How can i resize album art pictures in Albums view mode?
iTunes on my old PowerMac G5: there is a slider to resize album arts.
iTunes on my Win7 PC: where is the slider to resize album arts???

In the Grid view, *View > Grid View > Show Header* should expose the header. In the List view it's contolled by the size of the artwork column.

  • Music App Album Art Viewer (in horizontal mode)

    Hi,
I wonder if anyone else in the community think the same about the album art cover mosaic when in horizontal mode but it really suck since they remodeled the app.
When rotating the IPhone in the Music App, we use to be able to flip the albums and at that time, the SORT was by ARTIST. Since Apple remodeled the music app (really don't like to have a mosaic of album covers), the SORT has been converted to ALBUM...
Problem is NOBODY remembers all their album names and nobody I know likes the way it is showing at the moment. All albums by a same artist are mixed up in the mosaic when they logically should be regrouped by artist as it uses to be. It is not convenient at all when I want to hear a song from an artist but don't know the album name or song name... Make the search in horizontal mode totally frustrating and useless.
This change in the music app is not an improvement and all my surrounding thinks the same. Is there an option to sort them differently somewhere? Never found it if so.
If you agree to this, please send feedback to apple so we can have the option to sort
    album cover art by artists.
    Thank you !
Do you prefer this...by album ?
    Rather than this...by artist  ?

  • How do i get itunes 11 to display my album art while in list mode like it did in the previous version?

How do i get itunes 11 to display my album art while in list mode like it did in the previous version?

I think the Sidebar preview image is gone. But found that when I'm playing music either from the entire library or a playlist you can click the tiny thumbnail at the top to open a Artwork based player that is scalable. Reduce (minimize) the main Itunes window and the player is actually Nice.  Hope that helps.

  • Album Art Bugs?

I recently purchased a 5th Generation iPod, my 5th iPod, my previous one was an iPod Photo. I am experiencing a problem with album art. If i select an album, the most recent was Madonna's new album. I've added the album art in the same fashion I have since my 3rd iPod, and It shows up perfectly in iTunes. Howerver when playing on the iPod, It will start by showing Madonna's album art, and then with switch to an 'Nsync album cover.
This problem is not just with Madonna's album, It is now happening with EVERY song! It doesn't happen right away, however after a few songs of a playlist or album, there is Nsync's album cover again!
    Any suggestions?

Yes there is a major bug here! I cant believe there isn't more people than this complaining about it?
    I have a 5th Generation video iPod. running on a G4 Mac.
My problem is similar but involves random podcast images/album art taking over my pre existing song album art and not all of the songs from an album either just some of them?
This really *****! and I don't think that this is going to be fixed with anything other than an iPod update.
I have decided to not sync my ipod until this is fixed incase it screws with thousands of my songs and is not reversible other than manually re entering album art.
I too would like to complain and get this new update fast tracked to fix it.
    Where do I do that?

  • Art work in album flow mode stutters before displaying.  Not enough RAM?

I love the addition of the full-screen Album Art flow mode (sorry for not knowing precisely what it's called).
Problem is, you can only scroll through 10-15 albums before it starts to lag behind. What would cause this, and I can improve it?
I've set my Mini up as a dedicated Music Server. It's a new 1.66 GHz Intel Mac Mini with 512mb of RAM. Too little RAM perhaps?? Currently, I have 600 Albums (stored as Apple-lossless files) all stored on an outboard LaCie fire-wire HD - how about this? ..Might this be the cause? If it get's no worse, I suppose I could live with it. However, I still have another 150+ albums to add.
Thanks for reading, thanks for responding.

    Thanks again, Aryel.
I have two Apple computers: An iMac (which has 1.5gb ram) and my Mini, which has just 512m. ..I need to change my profile.
Unfortunately, I can't store my music on my Mini. ..After I'm done loading all of my CDs (and those about to be given to me by my dad) I'll have nearly 1000 (lossless encode) cds loaded - wayyyyy too many for the Mini's modest HD. ..In fact, at some point I'll probably have to move the files from my 250gb LaCie onto a larger (500gb or perhaps even a 1terabyte) HD. Obviously, I have a music obsession that borders on "unhealthy"
Can you hazard a guess as to whether it's more likely to be a RAM issue than an "external HD" one?? There's no way around having to store the music on an external HD, but I can and will upgrade the RAM if I stand at least a good chance of seeing an improvement.
    Thanks!

  • Local File Album Art Bug (Figured Out)

I recently posted about this bug, but I now believe I have figured out what is the cause of it happening. For summarize, there is a bug that appeared in the newest version of Spotify (1.0.5.186) that causes the album art to not show up on certain Local files. When playing a song with Album art that doesn't work, Spotify will instead show the album art of the song that was previously played still. (Clean reinstallation does not solve this) What I've found to be the cause is that certain symbols that can either be found in the tracks naming or in the main file itself for some reason causes this to happen. The two symbols I've found to mainly cause this is apostrophes and parenthesis (There might be more). Since it's not much of solution to remove all these symbols from the files' names (As it would take a long time and ruin the name of some songs), this bug still needs a fix, but I hope this can somehow contribute to making the problem easier to solve :smileyhappy:

    Hey
    Thanks for your post.
Are you still having trouble with this? If so, could you let us know the version of Spotify that you're running at current?
Also, could you let us know the version of OS you're using on your device?
We'd love to forward this onto our team here!
    Thanks.

  • Resizing Album Art in Grid Mode

I don't know why they changed this but there used to be a little scroll bar at the bottom of grid mode and you could resize the album art in grid mode. Now it only comes in one size no matter how many albums you have. Is there anyway to change it? Has apple fixed this? Thanks

I have the same issue here.
If i change my display profile in the system preferences to the default, they disappear.
But that can’t be the solution.
    Has anybody a clue?

  • V2.2 bug: Album art sometimes appears as still frames from video podcasts

I subscribe to the CNN "in case you missed it" video podcast. I have noticed that intermittently, the album art appearing on the iPhone screen for the playing song is a "stolen" frame from one of the CNN video podcasts. I have taken screenshots when this occurs and I can post them if desired.
This is a question that I will mark as answered when I see that the problem has been corrected in a future firmware.

This bug seems to have been fixed in IOS 3

  • Why does my ITunes now get stuck when it can't find the album art?

I've noticed since yesterday when I bought my new IPod Touch my ITunes on my computer gets stuck when it can't find the album art for some music I have. It gets to that album and won't do anything, won't let me skip it or anything ... Anyone else having similar issues and if so any workaround?

    Hi joanhello,
I understand that you are seeing an issue with iTunes fetching information about CDs you are importing. Here is an article for you that explains how to troubleshoot this issue:
