BUG: Vertical Red/blue/green on right during video transitions (SOLVED)

I was getting this phantom vertical bar on the right side of the video, and it took me 2 hours to figure out what was causing it. The video size of the sequence was 595x222 (it's for a flash element on a website); This glitch occured across all media types at this resolution: jpegs, mov, whatever. During the cross-dissolve (or any transition) a red vertical var would appear and would cycle colors to red and green during the transition. It showed up in the final exported render as well.
THE SOLUTION:  I changed the width by 1px. That's it. I have no idea why that worked, but it fixed it– no more random color bar. It may have something to do with the width being an even vs odd number or not, or the aspect ratio of the height and width. Anyway, I hope this helps someone, and Adobe- put this on your to-do list.

Thank you for posting your fix.
Appreciated,
Hunt

  • Vertical red and green lines on my screen

Today I was rendering a bass track in Protools, I do that a lot and always without problems, also today.
It worked fine and I saved the render. Then I had to go for a while and left my mac on, when I came back I touched my mouse
and bam! stuck! I work with two synced apple cinema screens, the left screen got vertical red and green lines and the right screen stayed black...
I am in a big worry because there is four weeks worth of editing on this computer. Does anyone know what I could do about this?

I suppose it's a graphic card failure. You'd better get new one.

  • Red blue & green pixels stuck on in four coners of the iPhone 3G

4-8 stuck red blue green pixels stuck on in each corner of the iPhone 3G. You can see them when you flip between icon pages & in photos, browser etc. In other words, as you slide from the springboard page one of apps to page two the pixels stay stuck on in the same place as the images drags across?
Is that maybe from pressure, maybe sitting on the iPhone?

    Hi ciscomemorynet,
You might be able to fix it with a web app like: http://www.apple.com/webapps/utilities/stuckpixelfix.html
If the issue persists, the iPhone may need repair/replacement. This article: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/service/faq/#repair8 provides service options.

  • Strange graphics pixels - red, blue, green. They move & dissappear - help!

Some of my top bar icons are obscured/replaced by thouisands of red, blue, and green pixels. The entire dashboard widgets are obscured the same way. It comes and goes. Sometimes if I drag a windown or cursor over it it goes bacxk to normal. Macbook Pro, 15", OSX Lion, using a 23" cinema display. Graphics problem is the same on display and macbook screen. See image for example. Reboot doesnt help. I appreciate anyone's insight.

Probably a hardware fault, but to make sure, boot from your recovery partition (command-R at startup.) If you don't get the same thing there, boot in safe mode (shift key at startup.)

  • Refurbished hp w2408 flashes red/blue/green/black/white when idle

How can I disable this?  I think it is still in factory test mode or burn-in mode but I can't seem to find out how to disable this. At least it only does it when idle, but I'd prefer it to power save shut off than cycle through those colors. Thanks! -Jason

I was having the exact same problem (monitor cycling through colored screens when my Mac put the monitor to sleep), and resetting the monitor to the factory defaults fixed it. However now instead of the colored screens the monitor still stays awake, but showing a black (actually dark gray) screen. So the backlight is staying on, but just displaying a 'black' screen. Obviously I'd rather the backlight turns off, to reduce energy consumption and extend the life of the monitor. I have a second (non-HP) monitor connected to my Mac and it sleeps properly. Is your monitor sleeping correctly after the factory reset? I believe I have all the setting in the monitor's OSD menu set correctly (Power Save on, etc.). Any idea how to get it to actually sleep correctly?

  • New Quicktime 7.1.6 and Vista = Blue Screen of Death during video playback

I received an alert from Quicktime about a critical upgrade to 7.1.6. I was running version 7.1.5 without problem. So I did a full upgrade of iTunes w/Quicktime from the download site. Now shortly after trying to play videos from my PC I get the BSOD. I can play videos from the iTunes web site but not videos on my PC that I bought from iTunes.

When I video chat, I am able to see the other person & my light is on but I only see a black screen. My microphone works. I am able to videochat using googlechat.

First off go to System Preferences and the Display option and check it is set to Millions.
If it is Restart the Mac whilst holding down the AppleALT+PR keys all at the same time until you have heard three Start Up Bongs.
If that does not work do this

  • When trying to click between red, blue and green in levels, the menu does not stay dropped down so that i can click on them

I go to  New Levels > Levels> RGB> (red, blue, green).. the mouse won't click on red, blue, green, and levels keeps reverting back to just the RGB levels. I have the full version, I just installed on a new computer, and input the serial number without problems at install. Very dissapointed as I can't edit anything without doing simple levels editing. • Vertical blue green lines on Tecra M display

I have blue-green vertical lines on my laptop monitor.
They only seem to be present when I have a white background (such as a web page).
The lines go away when I move my mouse over the screen and reappear when the cursor moves. I have no lines on video or pictures, just white backgrounds.
    It's really annoying, please help.
I am using Win XP SP3.
    I have a Nvidia geforce 6600 128M vid card.

Hey guys, I'm either thinking it's a VGA wire issue or the screen. I want to say VGA cable, bc in MS paint, when I filled the screen with different colors, the only colors that have lines through them are: White, Yellow, Red, and Beige. Orange did as well, but only slightly.
I tried moving around the screen, same result in all quadrants of the screen. This happens with similar colors in photo's and video. Typing a paper for my classes is really annoying because of these lines, arghghgh. . .

  • How do I create a second set of red yellow green buttons for right handers

I've moved over from using a PC for years and still use one at work - so I've grown used to using my mouse for everything.
So, being right handed - I'm wondering how I can move or better yet create a second set of red yellow green buttons at the top right of each screen. It's a pain having to scroll from one corner to the other all the time.

Welcome to the forums Chiliad. It's rare that a question like yours is answered "you can't do that" but I've never heard of someone wanting to do this. OS X is robustly customizable right out of the box with its many different ways of accomplishing identical tasks, but I suspect the locations of these buttons is somewhat of an Apple trademark and rooted deep in OS X code. I would avoid trying to hack the system to change their location lest such a change cause a future OS X update to break.
There are many third party tools available to customize OS X to your liking, but I can recommend without reservation just a few. Products like Tinker Tool and the utilities written by Unsanity seem to be generally useful and trouble-free.
You can minimize a window by double-clicking anywhere in the title bar, but I find Exposé to be much more useful when managing multiple open windows. I've grown to use Apple-w to close and Apple-q to quit, but that's just me.
Seems to me the engineers at Apple have put an enormous amount of effort into designing an effortless user interface, which in my opinion rewards the user with an experience that doesn't get "in your face" as much as Windows does. It's hard for me to imagine improving upon it much, but there are plenty of others who try!

  • AP 1142 Rapidly cycling through blue, green, and red

    Hello
After the upgrade of the WLC 5508 to version 7.4 the 1142 access-points LED blinking rapidly cycling through blue, green, and red. I found the followinung information to this behavior: "Access point location command invoked"
The configuration didn't change. What exactly means that? How can I switch this function?
    regards
    Pascal

Console into the AP and see what's going on. The output will tell you what is happening. If you can't determine the issues from the output, please attach it on this thread. Makes sure you get the whole process from boot up.

So i was updating my white ipod touch 4th gen and i restarted the ipod while it was half way done. Then after it restarted it would crash right after the apple sign...it would turn white, red,purple,green...any ideas of how to fix it??

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
When it says restore the iPid via recovery mode, try placing n recovery mode and restoring several times.

  • Red and green but no blue

My ATV works with my Phillips Matchpoint Flatscreen, except that everything is colored either red or green (or B/W, of course). No blues, yellows, browns etc. I'm using component cables, which I've tried in both the AV ports. When I used an HDMI cable instead, the TV didn't even recognize an input signal. Replacing the ATV, as I did today, doesn't solve the problem. Any ideas?

For the use of anyone else with this problem: 'Charlie' at Apple support told me to replace my component cables with a set of composites that I had lying around. He said they would serve the same function (at the cost of a slight loss in picture quality) as long as I used the same color combinations in the back of both TV and ATV (ie: red and red, white and blue, yellow and green). I now have the full color palette. The problem was therefore twofold: faulty component cables, and probably a faulty HDMI input on the TV.
