Bug - View changes to grid when expanding a collection in the left pane.

Tried submitting this via the bug report form but got java errors. Sigh...
This seemed like the best alternative.

Concise problem statement:
View changes to grid when expanding a collection in the left pane.
Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Goto Library Module
2. Ensure there is a collection with at least one child - if not create one.
3. Make sure the collection is collapsed (you cant see the child and you see a right pointing triangle to the left of the collection name)
4. Change to Loupe view
5. Click the right pointing triangle next to the parent collection you just created to expand it.
Actual Results:
View changes to grid
Expected results:
View should remain unchanged - in this case Loupe view.

The first is that I can't view the aperture library anymore directly from iphoto.
THat is exceeding strange since iPhoto '08 could not open or share an Aperture library - that ability was first introduced in iPhoto '11 - with the latest version of iPhoto and or Aperture you can open the same library with either application - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5043
In the current version of iPhoto the photos are sorted by date in the film strip - I've not recently done a calendar so do not remember the specifics -

I too have a BBCurve 8520 and I am also experiencing the same problem; it is driving me MAD! I have tried the given solutions provided in this string to no avail. It STILL changes profiles to vibrate on its own. HOWEVER (and do let me know if it's just me going insane...) I have noticed two things:
I put the face of the phone inward, so the battery cover is facing outside the holster; in this way:
1- SOMETIMES, if I put the bottom part of the phone (the where the keyboard is) in the holster FIRST, then the top part (where the screen is), the phone does go into vibrate mode. If I do it evently, it will not. Doesn't always work, though.
2- If I put the phone in QUICKLY, it will not go into vibrate mode. If I do it slowly, chances are, it will.
Maybe I'm already insane, but this situation is certainly driving me absolutely MAD!
I sure wish there was a setting to keep it on "normal" ALL THE TIME, EVEN WHEN IN THE HOLSTER. PLEASE, post a solution?

Mattreichenbach is probably on the right track here with a reset of settings. I think I've determined the issue has to do with cached account information and inconsistencies for the account name. This seems to crop up when I've changed my password and it hasn't propagated fully to all the servers, devices, certificates, etc.
Hopefully many here are on their way to restoration of service by now but it's clear that a lot of people are having the same issues. Very frustrating and definitely something Apple needs to resolve: incoming mail server field grayed out, incorrect autopopulation of different fields, other unanticipated behaviors. If you're still having issues, though, here's what worked for me...
First, head to the iCloud preferences pane in System Configuration and choose "Sign Out". When I did this it prompted me with a number of "are you sure" type questions about retaining information on my local machine. I chose to delete/remove the info each time simply because it should all be restored by the cloud and I didn't want to risk a massive duplication of my data... I will say, I'm back up and running with no issues so I suspect you can make the same delete/remove choices... But use your own judgment. I don't want you to lose any data (ie.. please use care as you do this because I cannot bear the thought of causing anyone to experience the pain of data loss).
Once you've signed out of iCloud, restart your system. When you get back in, head to the Mail, Contacts and Calendars section of your System Preferences and add your account back by choosing the brushed aluminum "iCloud" button. When it asks for your account name, use your @iCloud.com email address. I am all but certain my issue had started because one of my devices (iPhone or whatever) had been set up with an email alias specified instead of my @iCloud.com address.
Apple, if you're reading through any of these issues (there are TONS of users having this same problem). Take note, that your icloud service somewhat frequently is not responding and yet tells the user that the password is wrong and this prompts people to be changing their passwords unnecessarily. This has happened to me on numerous occasions. Also, I noticed that last week's outage corresponded to a VERY similar outage exactly one year ago to the day. Sounds like planned maintenance to me and I think you could do a better job notifying folks so we're not wasting HUGE amounts of time troubleshooting a problem that we have no hope of fixing.

Explorer.exe crashes when righ click on item in left pane on windows explorer nothing in system logs, explorer.exe restarts.

Hi to all, i have a laptop running Windows 7 Professional. The problem is strange and havent had it on any other Windows 7 machine.
If i click the folder icon on the bottom tool bar (windows explorer) then in the left hand pane expand the C drive then right click on any folder it instantly displays a dialog saying Explorer has experienced a problem and needs to close, windows is
looking for a fix for this problem (cant remember exact wording) then Explorer.exe restarts. This happens on the local C drive and Network drives.
I though it could be a permissions problem so have taken ownership of all files & folders on the C drive which made no difference, i have removed the laptop from our server / domain and it is still the same / no change.
Can anyone shed any light on this problem or offer any ideas on fixing it? the laptop is only a few months old and is i5 / 4GB RAM Dell machine running Windows 7 Pro SP1 office 2003 Pro, checked for virus & adware & all clean.

Expanding JTree nodes to the left.

I have a JTree with a custom model and cell renderer but now i'd like to flip the entire tree so that the root node ends up in the upper right corner and the child nodes expand to the left (instead of to the right).
I tought this should be easy enough but now I'm very confused; any help is appriciated!

as a general guideline - you want to set something - so search for all set....-methods that class has or inherits.

Set the language-sensitive orientation that is to be used to order the elements or text within this component. Language-sensitive LayoutManager and Component subclasses will use this property to determine how to lay out and draw components.
At construction time, a component's orientation is set to ComponentOrientation.UNKNOWN, indicating that it has not been specified explicitly. The UNKNOWN orientation behaves the same as
ComponentOrientation.LEFT_TO_RIGHT.
To set the orientation of a single component, use this method.

TP4 FileExplorer tree: change Folder icon when expanded/collapsed

I am trying to create a tree similar with FileExplorer from the Demo application. I am trying to use two icons for every node: one for expanded node and another one for collapsed.
I use a rowDisclosureListener tag
rowDisclosureListener="#{menuBean.menuRowDisclosureEvent}to fire an expand/collapse event. In a custom method menuRowDisclosureEvent(RowDisclosureEvent disclosureEvent) I retreive the selected node and programatically change the icon. The only thing is that the tree view itself is not refreshed on the same phase cycle. The node icons are refreshed only at the next requests.

Field catalogue for ALV Grid when program is run in the background

Hi All,
I have an ALV report that contains approx 27 fields. Not all of these fields will be relevant for different Users, and many will want to change the order the fields appear in.
When running on line the User can set a variant to present the data as they wish. However, I need to email this report to the SAP Inbox with the fields displayed in the same Order with uncessary fields hidden as stated in the Field Catalogue.
On-line none of this is an issue, however GET_FRONTEND_FIELDCATALOG cannot be used in Background, and attribute MT_FIELDCAT_LOCAL is Private and cannot be accessed.
I have looked at using Class CL_ ALV_VARIANT to try to read the Variant being used, but couldn't get the information about the Variant coming back, instead I get an error in CL_ALV_VARIANT->LOAD_VARIANT.
Can anybody recommend how to the Field Cat for a Variant for background processing?

You can not use an ALV report in Background or write to spool because it is a kind of dialog program.
You can write only a List report to spool so please find others sulotions.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "Downlite" or "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the support article, you may also need to remove this item in the same way:
~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This malware is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
if it's not already checked.

My iPhoto's don't save the changes to them when i down load to the pro

I have taken photo's on the iphone 5s and thn adjusted them on the phone. When i down load into iphoto's they revert back to the oringinal. What am i doing wrong.

I was adding songs to and existing playlist and now I can't save the changes to the playlist. What do I need to do to save the changes? All my music have now the "+ " sign in front of them

I keep all our music files on an external NAS so it can be shared by my Sonos system and also sync via iTunes to various iDevices by my wife and I. In this situation it is not desirable to have iTunes organize the folders or copy the music to it's own folder. Using Windows 7 iTunes, I use the File | Add Folder to Library dialog to add music to iTunes, simply pointing this dialog at the NAS folder where the files are stored. This creates a few problems.
1) When new music is added to the NAS folder, iTunes doesn't have the brains to re-scan the folder at start-up to see what has changed. Instead I have to use the File | Add Folder to Library dialog again, choosing the same folder as before. An annoyance.
2) When I do the procedure described in #1, ALL new files since the last scan get a check mark and are added to the iDevice sync. That is also undesirable as I may add lectures or music that my wife doesn't want on her iPhone, or vice-versa. One is forced to hunt through the entire library looking for items that she or I don't want synced.
3) I need to change the location of the music file storage. BIG PROBLEM. I can't figure out how to move the file location and have iTunes still honor the selected (and non-selected) file choices.
There must be a better way around all of this. I saw one suggestion to do a global search and replace on the file location in the iTunes Music Library.xml file using a text editor. Is iTunes really that backward? Any help appreciated.

Use iTunes Folder Watch or make sure the designated iTunes Media folder is a folder on the NAS and drop new content into <Media Folder>\Automatically Add to iTunes.
Tunes Folder Watch includes an option not to check newly added songs (or rather it actually unchecks them) however checkmarks are a poor organizing tool. Use a combination of one or more regular & smart playlists to determine what should go on the device. That way you can still listen to albums that aren't scheduled to sync.
Exactly what do you want to change? Normally I'd suggest you make your split library portable, however running an iTunes library database from a NAS is generally not a good move. It may be necessary to do so temporarily in order to relocate the media folder, after which the library files can be copied back to an internal drive for performance. Alternatively you can move files around using my script ConsolidateByMoving, assuming you're not also trying to preserve an esoteric folder structure of your own. Or, it there is room to copy, then delete, instead of moving, then you can use the iTunes "consolidate" feature.
Editing the XML and "breaking" the library to force a rebuild from the XML is not the way to go.

Windows jump and change to outlines when switching from one to the next

Windows 7 SP1, 64 bit, dual monitors, NON-transparent windows. When I hover the mouse pointer over an icon on the task bar, open windows disappear, leaving only the outline. When I select the one I'm over, things return to normal.
Is there any way to turn this effect off? It is very distracting to have windows appear and disappear suddenly.

This only happens for me when I hover over Taskbar thumbnails but you could try disabling Aero Peek on the Show Desktop button (Taskbar properties) as well as disabling Aero Peek on Taskbar thumbnails (System Properties->Advanced->Performance->Visual

Can not change folders in "save as" or "upload" window in Windows 7. The folder structure doesn't appear in the left pane.

The "save as" or "upload" location only displays the files in the last folder I saved in. I can not move out of that folder.

Yes, Navigation Pane, that's the one I meant.
It's checked but it's not there? Does it help at all to uncheck it and then go back in and turn it back on?
Or is it just mostly useless. It is annoying that Windows 7 doesn't synchronize the Navigation pane with the file list.
What I generally do is click the folder name in the top address bar to navigate up to a level or two. Then I can drill back down to where I need to go using the right pane. Does that work for you?

HT3951 how do you go in and sync your IPAD since everything has changed. I always went in and on the left side I would click on sync and it would update the IPAD now I am completely lost. Can you help me please?
