[Bug] Web Browser - Cannot edit or delete bookmarks

There is a bug in webOS 2.0 where if you start your new Pre 2 using an existing Palm account with settings being ported over from a previous Pre Plus with 1.4.5, it will not allow you to edit or delete bookmarks in the web browser when going to "Bookmarks" from the drop down menu in the main bookmarks tile screen.
To fix, you have to clear the bookmarks and start over

    Thanks!

There's no way to lock bookmarks specifically, but if you you can apply a
security policy to prevent editing the PDF in general.

  • How to edit or delete emailed calendar entries in iOS?

When I accept an event into calendar on my iPhone (iOS 7.0.4) that appears as an attachment to an e-mail message, it shows up in the calendar correctly. However, unlike events that I enter directly, I cannot edit or delete the entry later; manually entered events show "edit" in the upper left corner of the screen which allow direct modification or deletion. It does not show on ones from mail attachments.
In the OSX version of calendar, however, those events can be editted or deleted just like any other calendar event.
Is this a bug or a feature? (In the case of "feature", how can I disable it?)
Also, if some sends an update to the event (time change or deletion), the changes do not take effect in the iPhone calendar.
Thanks for any assistance here. If I dont find a good soultion soon, I'm ditching the calendar on the iPhone and going back to paper.

    Hi,
The blue, dotted line indicates an implicit page break where the content has flowed to a new page. Use the same approach for adding/editing explicit page breaks in the Page view as you would in the Web view, by adding/moving/deleting a "New Page" element.
Note that we maintain separate page breaks for each view. A "New Page" item added in the Web view is not included in the layout of the Page view, and vice versa.
    Regards,
    Brian

You don't do this through iPhoto anymore. Open your browser and log onto dot-Mac.

  • Preview Will Not Edit Or Delete Existing Keywords

There used to be a severe bug in Preview for Snow Leopard where no keywords could be added or edited--while you could add them via the "info" box, on save they would disappear and not be saved. Well, that was fixed in a patch update--sort-of. While I can now add keywords to JPGs that have never had any, and I can edit or delete those same keywords, I cannot edit or delete keywords on JPGs that have been added by someone else using a different mechanism. For example, if someone sends me a picture that already has keywords, and I want to remove them and add my own, Preview lets me make the changes in the info box, but when I save, it reverts to what was there before. These files are unlocked and I have write permission to them.
Interestingly, I cannot even get these keywords to change when I use a third-party tool, like the command-line exif-tool. So the problem may be at the OS level. (Although a tool like Pandora will let me change them, but I believe it does a complete rewrite/remove of edited JPGs, since the 'creation date' is brand-new on any edited JPG).
I have a separate question about Preview eating files on a save, but that's not related directly to this problem--I have never seen Preview eat a file where I've tried to edit an existing keyword. It just discards my changes. I have been very disappointed with the reliability of Preview in Snow Leopard. Anyone have any thoughts?

Glad I could debug this software myself. The problem is simple: Preview will allow edits only of IPTC keywords in JPEGs in the APP14 segment. But it DISPLAYS any keywords set in an RDF segment. In other words, if the JPG has an RDF segment, Preview will display all its information from there--but it will not update it if you edit it. I guess I'll open a bug.

  • Can't edit or delete iCal Server Utility records

I created two records in iCal Server Utility when I first set it up (one location and one resource).
For some reason, now I cannot edit or delete either of those records. I get the message "An error has occurred. You don't have permission to modify this record."
My preferences are set to connect via password (as opposed to Kerberos).
    What am I missing?

This is actually an iWeb forum and your questions about Homepage would be better answered in the .Mac forum.
To delete your Homepage, log in to your iDisk and open the Web/Sites folder, highlight your page file and a delete icon will appear. Click this and its gone.

  • Links in web browser opposed to Adobe Pro

I have a problem that I am trying to fix.  I have an intranet map application(opened in IE) that allows in house users to *click* a feature to open a general Information.pdf about that map feature (ie. street sign).  the general information pdf has links to additional pdf's about that sign(inspection reports, etc)
The preferences>Internet in Adobe Pro 9.2 are set to open in the program not the web browser because editing capabilities for the users are manditory.
So the problem is that when the general information.pdf is opening it opens in an IE temp directory fashion and not in its network location (\\jacas02\structures\app..... etc).  The link to the additional documents are then looking for those additional documents in a location relative to the temp file location(C:\Documents and Settings\.....etc) and not the actually document location on the network.  Therefore the document/file can not be found.
If we enable the pdf to be opened in the web browser everything works fine but we don't have the adobe pro functionality.  Any suggestions or links to related articles would be greatly appreciated.
Also, can adobe pro functionallity be enabled in the adobe IE web browser?
    thanks for any suggestions!
    jac

This is a map application served by ArcGIS Server.  I don't think that is relevant though.  I suspect that this is between IE and Adobe.
How would setting a base URL be applied?  All of the General Info pdf's are in one folder on the network \\jacas02\structures\app\INFO
Then within that INFO folder I have additional folders that contain all of the linked documents that are not being found because adobe is opening the file from IE in a temp location.
If I set the base URL to \\jacas02\structures\app\INFO  should that work even though it is a 'UNC'?
thanks for you interest, it seems that this should be a easy issue to solve but its got me stumped.
Also, forgot to add.  The links have always been relative in adobe as long as you keep them organized the same as when you created the links in adobe.

  • Solution:  iMac Address Book - Issues when Editing or Deleting Contacts

Is there a way to select a bunch of similarly posted questions and propose to "ALL" an answer or solution?
Hardware & Version: I have the iMac OS X Lion 10.7.4  (as of this writing)
Every so often, after updates, there seems to be rights issues with some apps, such as Address Book and iTunes, especially for iMacs with one or more non-admin accounts.
But somehow, even using the Admin account to give Read/Write access to some relevant user folders (AddressBook folder of that user in this case) does nothing to allow the editing or deleting of those contacts.
Here is the solution that worked for me, without losing all my contacts:  (just in case, backup all files and contacts prior to these steps...)
1 - open Address Book app
2 - right-click a contact that you cannot edit or delete
    3 - select "Spotlight: <contact name>"
4 - Finder will open and show all files pertaining to that contact (select View as Columns from the menu)
5 - find the file that has "Address Book Card Data" next to the "Kind" value (the file icon will look like those Roladex cards)
6 - right-click the file and select "Open Enclosing Folder"
7 - another Finder window opens to show the Metadata folder location of the file
8 - now stretch the window until you see the AddressBook folder containing the Metadata folder
9 - Quit Address Book app
10 - right-click the AddressBook folder and select "Move to Trash"
11 - launch the Address Book app
You should now be able to edit and delete contacts.

  • Cannot edit outgoing SMTP server list in mail.app

Did a fresh install of Snow Leopard on a new 13" Macbook Pro unibody and was trying to add an IMAP email account. After failing to connect, I was trying to specify the outgoing port and realized that I could not edit the outgoing SMTP server list.
    Steps to reproduce error:
    1. Open mail.app
    2. Go to Mail > Preferences
    3. Select "Accounts" tab and select any mail account
    4. Select "Account Information" tab and click Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) drop down menu
    5. Select "Edit SMTP Server List..."
After that point the instead of opening the list of servers with their settings, it simply returns to the "Account Information" screen. I'm a bit confused because I've never had this happen before in any other version of mail app. I cannot edit or delete any outgoing mail server accounts because of this. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration.

This should not happen. Had you migrated back to the fresh install the Mail folder in User-Library? Or is this a clean setup? I would go to User-Library-Preferences, and drag the com.apple.mail.plist to the trash, then open Mail and try again.

  • Updated iPhoto 11 and cannot open Events with double click or any other way. I can only view those photos by creating an album from all of them, then I can open the album and edit or delete etc.  Any one have that problem?

After upgrading to iPhoto 11 and the latest upgrade 9.4.1 (701 67) I cannot open any Event.  The normal double click does not work, nor anything else I have tried. The only way I can view the photos in an Event is to make an Album of it, and then I can easily open it with a double click and edit and delete, arrange photos etc.  Anyone have this problem. Any ideas about how to open an event?

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.
