Bug with "Application Availability" ?

What i did as user "admin_man" :
For App X:
1) Status: "Restricted Access"
2) Build Status: "Run application only"
3) Restricted to: admin_man
developper "kid_developer" logs in (who also last worked on App X)
- sees NO App X in the WS App list. - this is intended right ?
But now clicking on "Application Builder" icon brings up App X - This is NOT intended, right ?
Questions:
1) Looks like HTML DB keeps track of which app the user last worked on, correct ?
2) So now how does "admin_man" get back into App X ???
It is no longer in the list for one AND since admin went into App Y after App X, clicking "Application Builder" does not bring App X up no more. <-- This is serious for me !
Thanks

Robert,
1) Status: "Restricted Access"Okay, so only certain users can run the application.
- sees NO App X in the WS App list. - this is intended right ?Correct.
But now clicking on "Application Builder" icon brings up App X - This is NOT intended, right ?Correct. This has been fixed for the next release.
1) Looks like HTML DB keeps track of which app the user last worked on, correct ?Yes.
2) So now how does "admin_man" get back into App X ???The build status 'Run Application Only' prevents editing of the app. Change it back to 'Run and Build Application' using the Site Admin page (Manage Applications->Manage Build Status). Then any developer will be able to edit it.
It is no longer in the list for one One what? I don't know what you mean.
AND since admin went into App Y after App X, clicking "Application Builder" does not bring App X up no more.Well that's good. It shouldn't (meaning that it does bring App X up no more).
This is serious for me !Feel free to make your case.

  • Bug with "updates available" icon

    For most of today iTunes has been displaying "you have 3 updates available" in the apps section, with the little "3" on the left taskbar. Every time I click the arrow it would bring me to a page that says "there are no updates available". Doing a check on available downloads brings a window that says all items have been downloaded, and the update notice will not go away if I close and re-open iTunes. I have the latest iTunes (8.1.1.10). Any way to find out which apps need updating, or if it's a bug simply?

    You can find some solutions to this problem here:
    http://www.macyourself.com/2008/09/08/get-rid-of-false-itunes-application-update -icon-that-wont-go-away/
    If you right-click on an app in iTunes, it will tell you the full username it is associated with; you can click the "Next" button at the bottom of the window to cycle through all your apps.
    In short, verify your username is correct, try signing out and signing in again, try syncing all apps to your device and then deleting them from within iTunes (but not on your device!) and then sync them back to iTunes. Hopefully one of these steps will fix the problem!

  • A minor bug with Application Bulider menu in 2.2.1

    I have two apex instances which are used primarily for development and periodicaly synchronized via application exports. After some time of such activity I lost my application in the application builder menu on the first instance (still have access to the application by clicking Application Builder icon and choosing from the application list). On the second instance I lost section with Export, Import submenus inside this menu. Now just see two separators sticked together without these items between them.

    Edward,
    I lost my application in the application builder menuI'm not exactly sure what you mean. If you mean the history of the most recently edited applications that you see at the bottom of the Application Builder drop-down list (zero to four application IDs and names), this history will be nullified for applications that you import as the import action clears the audit trail.
    About the Export menus, I don't know what you mean, maybe you could post a screenshot.

  • Satellite P70-A-112 - Windows 8 - Bug with Application Manager & Display

    Hello,
    I bought this Toshiba laptop in August with windows 8 (64 bit) inbuilt.
    It all began yesterday, when Windows crashed due to a "BAD_POOL_HEADER" error. Ever since, I cannot access the "start menu" of Windows 8, neither can I run any applications linked to this tablet-like menu. For instance, I can't even open a picture anymore ou neither can I open a PDF file with Acrobat Reader.
    My problem is thus twhreefold:
    Firstly, it seems that the Application Manager does not seem to run when I start the computer. And this application manager seems to be necessary to run the start menue.
    Secondly, I cant access the parameters of my computer when putting my cursor on the top-right corner, making it impossible to close my computer the normal way.
    Thirdly, when I manage to restart my computer, I arrive most of the times to a black background, and just a non-working picture picture of the quick access bar at the bottom of the screen. Nothing works.
    Oddly enough, the only way I've found to "solve" this problem is by pluging-in a second screen. However, it is merely a temporary solution: whenever I de-plug the second screen, the nightmare begins again.
    Could you please help me identify the exact problem and help me solve it?
    Thanks a lot.

    > According to other forums on the net, it might be a hard-drive problem.
    Yes, probably its memory module problem. I think the memory modules should be tested.
    > What to do?
    Your notebook is new. Right?
    This means that warranty is valid and hardware problems should be fixed under warranty conditions.
    In my opinion you should as your authorized service provider for assistance.

  • With all of the applications available, what other applications recommended to use along with Captivate 8.

    With all of the applications available, what other applications recommended to use along with Captivate 8.  I do not heed to install all of them, just what I need.

    Personally I use both Photoshop and Audition (both in CC) a lot when using Captivate 8. There is roundtripping possible with those two Adobe applications. If you have a CC subscription try it out! And when needing HTML5 output, you can insert published Edge Animate files, to replace former Flash animations. As you can see in CP8, Edge Inspect can be used to test the output on mobile devices without having to publish or to deploy on a webserver.

  • Blocking bug with 10.8.3+Adobe Lightroom+Canon iPF5000 (but workaround found)

    Hi all,
    since I have updated my MacBook Pro (early 2011 model) with 10.8.3, I have a blocking bug with Adobe Lightroom (either 4.3 or 4.4) for launching prints on my Canon iPF5000 (firmware 1.33, either MacOS driver 2.67 or 3.06, connection through USB).
    When I was under 10.8.2 with the Canon's driver 3.06, everything works fine.
    Basically, after clicking Print a Copy or Print... in Lightroom, the file spooled to the driver stays in MacOS printer queue. Within the printer queue window, the printer is in pause mode, and each time I try to resume the printing processing, the driver put it on hold immediately. When I look into the history on the Console, the driver complains about an unknown error... The data stay within the driver, as my Canon iPF5000 "Data" led indicator stays unlit.
    My print settings are 600dpi or 300dpi, print sharpening Standard/Glossy, 16 bit output. And Color managed by printer (because I let the Canon driver managing my B&W prints).
    Strangely enough, when I launch a print from Preview application, the drivers does its job and sends it successfully to my Canon iPF5000...
    As this was driving me crazy, I have tried a clean install of MacOS 10.8.3 (as 10.8.2 is no more available from Apple servers...). No success, same blocking issue.
    Eventually, I've found the workaround: using the imagePROGRAF Advanced Preview. You have to click on "Print..." in Lightroom in order to see the driver settings window, and then check the "Preview before printing" option in the main tab of the driver settings. Then I can preview my Lightroom printing work and then launch successfully my printing.
    Simple workaround, but very strange bug...
    For me, the root cause could be multiple and not very obvious.
    Is it Mac OS 10.8.3 ? But why can I make prints from Preview application for instance, and not from LR ?
    Is it the Canon driver ? But this lead me to the same question.
    Is it Lightroom ? Does it send corrupted data that make the driver crazy but not the imagePROGRAF Advanced Preview ?
    So, if any user of Canon iPF5000 + Mac OS 10.8 + Lightroom is around, please share your experience.
    And if any Apple, Adobe or Canon engineer read this, please try to fix this.
    Happy printing,
    Amaury

    It's different how applications write print data. If you use Advanced Preview from the driver then it calculates already the output which afterwards is only sent to the printer.
    Have you once tried to print with fast graphic process switched off (option of advanced settings)?
    Hope it helps

  • 30EA3: German language bug with user defined reports still not fixed

    In 30EA2: Limited folder functionality with German language
    I wrote about a bug in 30EA2. Was this message noticed by the developers?
    The bug still exists in 30EA3.
    In new folders for user definded reports only the options "Kopieren" and "Exportieren" (copy and export) are available, when SQL-Deverloper runs in German language mode.
    A workaround is to force language to English with the line
    AddVMOption -Duser.language=en
    in sqldeveloper.conf

    I made a new thread for the same bug in 3.1EA2:
    3.1EA2 Old bug with German language settings still exists
    I have some hope, that my problem finally got noticed by the developers.

  • 3.1EA2 Old bug with German language settings still exists

    In the past I wrote several times about a bug in SQL Developer when running in German language mode. This bug is still not fixed in 3.1 EA2:
    In new folders for user definded reports only the options "Kopieren" and "Speichern unter ..." ('Copy' and 'Cave as') are available, when SQL-Deverloper runs in German language mode. Other options like "Bearbeiten, Neuer Ordner, Neuer Bericht, Ausschneiden, Einfügen, Löschen" (Edit, New Folder, New Report, Cut, Paste, Delete) are missing. A workaround is to force language to English with the line
    AddVMOption -Duser.language=en
    in sqldeveloper.conf
    I mentioned it first in Re: Folders with limited functionality about version 2.1.1.64 and then in 30EA2: Limited folder functionality with German language 3.0 EA2 and German language bug with user defined reports still not fixed Beta Release 3.0 EA3

    Thanks in advance
    Ajay

    The VERY FIRST message in the server log gives you a hint as to what the problem might be. The server thinks you have spaces in your PATH to the application server. Therefore, the solution is to kill the server however you need to (task manager, whatever) and then reinstall it in a path that doesn't contain spaces. That's the low-hanging fruit here; if that doesn't work, well, then we will have to find some other solution.

    If you have followed the standard Apple troubleshooting processes (see user guide )
    probably a trip to the local Apple Store Genius bar is called for before warranty runs out
    Assuming the iPad has been released in your Country if not you may have to take it to a
    neighbouring Country where it is available

  • BlueTooth bug with car

    Since the 4.3 update there's a big bug with the bluetooth connection with the car system - it still exists after a factory reset:
    I paired the phone and the car. But every time they connect, I get a message box if I want to grant access to my phone's messages. Even the "Allow always" option does not work and I get asked every time. Very annoying!!

    Hello, I'm having the same issue after updating my Xperia SP to Android 4.3 (12.1.A.0.266). In my car (Mercedes Benz A-Class from 2013) there is a radio called "Audio 20 CD" built in. Every time when I want to get into my car, my smartphone wants a connection request for my messages (SMS).The option "Always Allow" does not work. The phone does not remember the next time. I tried several times a new pairing of phone and car radio and I cleared the cache of the bluetooth-share app and smart connect app, but this didn't solve the problem.  Is there a fix available? With kind regardsThorsten

  • Possible Bug In Application Import (LOV binding lost for columns in IR)

    Hi,
    I've experienced strange behavior when after I imported application into APEX 4.1
    What I have done:
    1) Exported application from 4.0 - (db 11.1)
    2) Imported application into different instance - APEX 4.1 (db 11.2) to different workspace (using diferent schema) and with different application ID - manually changed (original was 106 new was 206)
    What happened:
    In Interactive Reports columns that were displayed as "Display as Text (Based on LOV, escape special characters)" lost their link to appropriate LOV - so the field "Named List of Values" shows "- Select Named LOV -" instead of the LOV name, which was assigned there in original application I exported.
    Also - Named LOV imported OK with application.
    And If application was imported under same ID, this issues was not there. So it looks only related if application ID changes from exported app.
    Any idea why such strange behaviour happens? Is it bug, if yes is there already fix for it?
    I have two workspaces on same db instance and want to migrate application between them - this make things complicated.
    Regards
    Ivan

    Hi,
    this is bug# 10369735 which has been fixed in 4.1. It was a problem of the export in 4.0 which didn't include all the necessary information. See Copying or exporting an application - bug?  LOVs not getting set in reports
    So I think you have two options:
    1) If you upgrade your existing 4.0 system to 4.1 you should be fine. If you now export your app all the LOV information will be included.
    2) If you export from a 4.0 system and import it into a 4.1 system you have fix your LOVs once again and then you are fine.
    Regards
    Patrick

  • Optimization bug with C++ inlining

    Hi,
    While evaluating Sun Studio 11 I have identified an optimization bug with C++ inlining.
    The bug can easily be reproduced with the small program below. The program produces
    wrong results with -xO2, because an inline access function always returns the value 0.0
    instead of the value given on the commandline:
    djerba{ru}16 : CC -o polybug  polybug.cc
    djerba{ru}17 : ./polybug 1.0
    coeff(0): 1.000000
    djerba{ru}18 : CC -o polybug -xO2 polybug.cc
    djerba{ru}19 : ./polybug 1.0
    coeff(0): 0.000000            <<<<<<<<<< wrong, should be 1.000000This occurs only with optimization level O2; levels below or above O2 don't
    exhibit the bug.
    Compiler version is
    Sun C++ 5.8 Patch 121017-01 2005/12/11
    on Solaris 8 / Sparc.
    I include a preliminary analysis at the end.
    Best Regards
    Dieter R.
    -------------------- polybug.cc -------------------------
    // note: this may look strange, but this is a heavily stripped down
    // version of actual working application code...
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <stdlib.h>
    class Poly {
      public:
        // constructor initializes number of valid coefficients to zero:
        Poly() { numvalid = 0; };
        ~Poly() {};
        // returns coefficient with index j, if valid. Otherwise returns 0.0:
        double coeff(int j) {
         if (j < numvalid) {
             return coefficients[j];
         } else {
             return 0.0;
       // copies contents of this Object to other Poly:
        void getPoly(Poly& q) { q = *this; };
        // data members:
        // valid coefficients: 0 ... (numvalid - 1)
        double coefficients[6];
        int numvalid;
    void troublefunc(Poly* pC) {
        // copies Poly-Object to local Poly, extracts coefficient
        // with index 0 and prints it. Should be the value given
        // on commandline.
        // Poly constructor, getPoly and coeff are all inline!
        if (pC) {
         Poly pol;
         pC->getPoly(pol);
         printf("coeff(0): %f\n",pol.coeff(0));
    int main(int argc,char* argv[]) {
        double d = atof(argv[1]);
        // creates Poly object and fills coefficient with index
        // 0 with the value given on commandline
        Poly* pC = new Poly;
        pC->coefficients[0] = d;
        pC->numvalid = 1;
        troublefunc(pC);
        return 0;
    The disassembly fragment below shows that the access function coeff(0), instead
    of retrieving coefficient[0] simply returns the fixed value 0.0 (presumably because the
    optimizer "thinks" numvalid holds still the value 0 from the constructor and that therefore
    the comparison "if (i < numvalid)" can be omitted).
    Note: disassembly created from code compiled with -features=no%except for simplicity!

    Thanks for confirming this.
    No, this happens neither in an Open Source package nor in an important product. This is an internal product, which is continuously developed with Sun Tools since 1992 (with incidents like this one being very rare).
    I am a bit concerned with this bug though, because it might indicate a weakness in the area of C++ inlining (after all, the compiler fails to correctly aggregate a sequence of three fairly simple inline functions, something which is quite common in our application). If, on the other hand, this is a singular failure caused by unique circumstances which we have hit by sheer (un)luck, it is always possible to work around this: explicitly defining a assignment operator instead of relying on the compiler-generated one is sufficient to make the bug go away.

  • Bug? Application not appearing in Application builder

    Version 3.1.2.00.02
    I have an application 102 which is translated to japanese as application 103 in my workspace - training
    I have another application in a different database with application number 102 in workspace - develop.
    I export application 102 from develop and import it into training. I select Auto Assign New Application ID. This creates the application with ID 103!
    I was able to work and make changes and do everything on this new application. However, when I check in the application builder, I cannot not see this application. And when I try to run the application 102 in japanese (translated), then, it fails with an error.
    Though I cannot see the new application 103 in my builder, I can run the application by making changes in the URL and if I click on 'Edit Application' link, then, I am able to make changes and work on application 103.
    I realised that this is a corrupted version, and deleted my japanese translation of 102. This deleted my new application as well.
    Is this a bug ?

    Hi Naveen,
    It will be most probably because of Security not defined for this new application in the "Member Access profile". Please check.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Killing a bean with application scope?

    Is there any way to kill a bean with application scope?
    I am writing a web application, that most likely the browser window will never be closed. The problem is a user is authenticated onto our site but because the bean containing the users acct info is application scope, if another user logs in it still shows the old user as logged in. So on logout i would like to kill the application, the bean, servletContext...anything that will refresh the bean and the corresponding jsp. Any help is much appreciated.

    There is an indirect way if you know servlets. The "application" implicit object that you use in your JSP is the javax.servlet.ServletContext object. Instead of declaring your bean using the jsp:useBean tag, directly put your objects into the ServletContext using ServletContext.putAttribute() method. Objects put in the ServletCOntext are available to all pages in the application. Just use the ServletContext.getAttribute() method to retrieve this bean in any other page.
    To "kill the bean", just reset the value of this object to null by calling putAttribute(null).
