Bug with Curve 9300 WiFi

I seem to have the same issue as those with the Torch 9800 experience here: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Torch/BIS-loses-connection-when-leaving-a-wifi-net...
However, the issue is ONLY present when I remain in wifi range for an extended period of time (say, 3 hours or more).
If I leave my phone connected to WiFi for half an hour, and go outside, BIS automatically switches to 3G. However, after a longer time, WiFi connection drops but BIS does not reconnect over 3G. I have to turn the mobile network on and off for it to reconnect. This is an absurd bug, I have tried deleting WiFi profiles, rebooting, and readding them to no avail. Please patch the software, this is a big issue for me and one of the reasons I bought a Blackberry. Are there any actual fixes I can use right now?

I also have the same problem.. I just want to toss it out the window.. Lucky for it, it's not mine.. >.<

  • Process debit card transactions with Curve 9300?

I'm a Canadian business owner that is looking to process debit transactions (but not credit cards), and I'd like to know if anyone has a solution available for use with my Curve 9300. Maybe there is a usb-connected swipe accessory? I know of a lot of credit card processing services but precious few BB options for debits, and likely less so for the Canadian market.
    Anyone?

  • Impossible to see/change my e-mail account with Curve 9300

Since a recent provider problem (Telekom Germany), I have been unable to download programmes or receive e-mails via this account. However, all attempts to verify and adjust my e-mail settings via the Curve 9300 have failed. Problem: Whenever is go to Einrichten (install)/E Mail settings and type in my user name (=e-mail address), the phone says: "User name void. Please enter a valid user name". Now I know that the user name is correct since it is entered like this in the Blackberry ID application. I am at my wit's end. Where is my mistake? Thank you.

    Hi Lfergar,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
I'm not sure what you mean by turning on Wi-Fi and losing the signal's home. Could you please clarify? Could you also please describe in detail the issue you are having with Wi-Fi? Are you able to connect to and browse over any other Wi-Fi networks and hotspots? What is the full error message you receive when trying to use this feature?
I look forward to your response.

  • Can't Sync Outlook Calander with Curve 9300 when using Outlook Connector

Sorry I know there is a simple answer but I can't find it.  I use Outlook 2010 with my hotmail account using hotmail connector.  The calander will not sync and the message I get is "Unable to access local folders.  If your Outlook profile uses Hotmail connector, you must create a local data store (PST) and set it as the default delivery location for the profile".  I simply do not understand what this means and how I do it.  Please help?

  • Help with Curve 9300...just quit, only blinking LED!!

I just got this phone due to AT&T take over of Alltel....It has only been activated about a week. I was in the process of syncing from my computer to the phone, and the desktop manager prompted that the device was not on....I looked and the screen was black, with only the red LED light blinking randomly in the upper right corner. I have removed the battery for as long as ten minutes and still NOTHING!
Previously, when I plugged into the computer, it immediately popped up on the computer screen....now it does nothing....I have tried to hold the green "call" button down....nothing....just the red  random blinking LED light !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Can someone help please??

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.
Good luck and let us know!

  • The fatal bug of curve 8520

    Hi
    Engineers of RIM ,
I think I find a fatal bug with curve 8520 and os 5.0 . Everyone konw bb can synchronize date and time  with base stations , it is very usefull , but lots of stations don't support time synchronizing in china , the problem is that my bb can't make any  telephone call when it  can't synchronize time with base stations ,because it display "sos"...
    I set   >option>date&time>set time ------->manual , but it can't fix my bb .
So I wonder if I could stop the time syc process manually , maybe that will solve this problem ,can you tell me the name of this process ?
By the way ,  There is not only me in this trouble but also  my some friends .
Sorry for my broken English,I wish you can know what I mean , thanks !

  • I REALLY NEED HELP WITH MY CURVE 9300'S WIFI!

    HI !
i have a blackberry curve 9300, OS5. I got it secondhand. It worked really great, but the problem started when I've done that thing within the host routing table. Though my wifi is connected, I can't use the internet. whenever I tried the BB browser and any other application (e.g. facebook, opera mini, etc.) i get a message that says 'i am not in an area that supports blah blah...' or 'unable to connect to internet please try again later'. I checked the browser under browser config and it is set to my local network provider. i changed it to hotspot browser, saved it. But whenever I go back it also goes back to my local network provider. i have tried almost EVERY troubleshooting I've read on this forums and in other forums but still no luck. The problem worsened when I did a security wipe on the emails, contacts, etc.
    -APN settings are disabled
-default browser set to hotspot browser
    -firewall disabled
    -data services are on
Everyone said that it has nothing to do with that activation enterprise so I did not configured it after wiping.
I also tried doing a hard reboot (pulling the battery out and waiting for 5 minutes before turning it on) but it will only fix the problem for sometime and it will go back again.
Calling my network provider would just suggest to get a plan when in fact, I was able to use the device's wifi well before without any plan.
I don't want to upgrade my BB to OS6 coz it easily drains the battery of device and I cannot afford doing that because I go out a lot.
I also tried changing my sim card and network provider but wasn't successful.
I also tried deleting the name of my local network provider in the service book under options.
What do you think could be the problem? Any suggestions? I really, really, REALLY, need help.
PLEASE ! THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE!

    Hi miochan984,
    Welcome to the support community!
A supported data plan from your mobile network provider may actually be required to use the Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones application as well as the browser. I would recommend verifying with them which services they support over a Wi-Fi connection without a data plan.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Curve 9300, no data plan, gmail on wifi only

    Hello,
I plan to buy a BB Curve 9300 but before I want to be 100% sure that I can configure it to be auto warned if
I get a mail on my gmail account but only via wifi because I have no data plan.
    Thank you for your help;
    Regards :-)

OK then here is your problems answer
The BB just developed for business men persons and not designed to be the way you want. It is a professional bussiness handset not like any other like Nokia, Sony Ericsion whic is perfect for kids and youngers like you. These sets support to recevie emails without any datapackage but for BB case you cannot.
You must have a dataplant inorder to get email notifications. If you dont believ me the try it by your self concern with the forum call every technical person you know and tell your problem and aks him to on the email notification services with using data plan. If any body does then please let me know.
I hope your problem is solved
    Thanks and Regards

  • Curve 9300 as wifi router

I am looking for a app to enable my Curve 9300 to be used as a wifi or bluetooth router.
Want share my 3g with my android tablet.
Some one know how to do it? Or how to convince the Blackberry to build a app for this?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    Please see this:
KB31857 How to setup and manage a Mobile Hotspot Connection
Your BB may or may not have the ability to do this. If your BB OS is not sufficient, then the feature is not available. Further, some carriers restrict it's use.
    Good luck!

Operating System v7.1 is required for mobile hotspot, and the 9300 model is not supported for OS7.1

  • WiFi and email on BB Curve 9300

Bell told me there is no way to use my WiFi in conjuction with email on the Blackberry Curve 9300 unless I sign up to one of their data plans.
Someone confirm this? I would have thought that a device that has WiFi built into it would be able to use the WiFi I have in my house.
I have an Ipod with WiFi and that is what I am using to check emails when I am in WiFi range.

They are correct. To use any of the blackberry push functions you need a blackberry data plan. Once in place you can also make use of a wifi connection.
