Bug with editing Appointments

Hello,
we experience a strange behaviour for one of our users, unfortunately a CEO. Our Client version is 12.0.2 at the moment. With GW 2012 the "resend" context option for appointmens has been replaced by the new "edit" option. The problem is that this edit option just appars for about 50% of his sent appointments, the others are treated like received appointments without the edit option. It is possible for those appointments to open them and use "actions" -> "edit" but this leads to a new appointment and also leaves the old one existent - very confusing for the attendands. This behaviour also appears for two secretaries which use his calendar by proxy access so it is a client independent issue.
Just for testing purposes I have checked this behaviour with an older GW client (8.0.3). There is no edit option of course but for all of the sent appointments the old "resend" option appears. So I assume we are experiencing a bug in the appointment edit function of GW 2012.
Ive exported several faulty and working appointments to eml files and compared them - there is no obvious commonality. Up to now we did only experience this behaviour for the one specific user. GWCheck did not show errors for his mailbox. Maybe it has something to do with the size of the calendar? It holds roundabout 25k appointments.
Did anyone have a similar issue before or has an idea which may help us?

If it's only this user, try doing a GWCheck. I had a problem with my
demo GW2012 environment where I'd do an edit and the original
appointment would stay with a second appointment being created. I
finally did an analyze/fix on the account (or maybe even a structural
rebuild, can't remember) and the problem went away.

Lightroom 2.1 History Bug with Edited File

I downloaded Lightroom 2.1 and now when I edit a file in Photoshop and then it comes back into Lightroom, if I click on one of the Presets, such as a B&W preset, then there is no way to get back to the edited file in color. The first entry in the History is the B&W preset, and I can't undo past that point to return to the color version of the edited file.
Seems like it's not making a "edit in photoshop" history item that allows me to return to the original.

I'm back trying to sort this problem out (got distracted for a couple of days by trying to get my monitor calibrated).
Rearranging the folder structure didn't help. But I now have a better organized catalog, so that's ok :)
What I did find is that if I import files into lightroom using the "file/import photos from device", then I can edit them normally afterwards (that is, when I save the file in photoshop cs3, the new file gets picked up correctly by lightroom and gets correctly stacked with the original). This is true even if the new files get added into the same directory structure that I'm having troubles with.
So it looks like the directory structure is a red herring. It looks like the problem is in the catalog, with the way that lightroom originally imported my files. I created my original catalog by allowing lightroom to read my elements 6 catalog.
It seems that I have this edit problem with all catalog entries that were imported from elements 6, but I don't have any problem with catalog entries that lightroom brings in directly (either through "import photos from device" or by adding a new folder to the lightroom catalog).
So right now it looks like there is a problem with the elements catalog conversion.
Is this a problem that anybody else has seen? Any suggestions for getting around it?

Minor bug with editing when there are multiple pages of reports on the list

When I edit a report and save the changes, I am returned to a different page on the list of reports than I started from.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Sort reports by Type
2. On the first page on the list of reports, find a custom report I created
3. click Edit, then click Save
4. I am returned to page 2 of the reports instead of page 1.
5. If I click Cancel instead of Save, I'm returned to page 1 as expected.
Depending on which page I started from I may be returned to some other seemingly random page, i.e. starting from page 4 I might be returned to page 3.
Expected behavior - it should either return me to the first page, or else return me to the page I started from.

Make sure your logo is not overlapped with any window... and i guess, your smartform has two page formats...
Identify the next page attribute of you first page and do the amendments as stated above.

After updating with the latest software, when trying to edit a photo, it disappears (black screen) or screen is full of lines. If I blindly crop or edit the photo, when I exit edit mode, those changes have been made, but obviously this is unacceptable. Is this a bug with the latest software update?

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/ Library/ Caches...
5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help: As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

3.1EA2 Old bug with German language settings still exists

In the past I wrote several times about a bug in SQL Developer when running in German language mode. This bug is still not fixed in 3.1 EA2:
In new folders for user definded reports only the options "Kopieren" and "Speichern unter ..." ('Copy' and 'Cave as') are available, when SQL-Deverloper runs in German language mode. Other options like "Bearbeiten, Neuer Ordner, Neuer Bericht, Ausschneiden, Einfügen, Löschen" (Edit, New Folder, New Report, Cut, Paste, Delete) are missing. A workaround is to force language to English with the line
AddVMOption -Duser.language=en
in sqldeveloper.conf

ICal bug with month view

I primarily use week view on iCal, but sometimes i switch to month view for a larger perspective. Often, i use month view to check for any leftover events from the previous month in case i forgot to delete one or two.
I just found a bug concerning this. If i click on "month" today, it'll take me to the month view for june 2011, and from there i can navigate forwards or backwards. However, may 2011 seems to have a bug. If i click on < from june, it does nothing; if i click again, it takes me to april 2011. Similarly, if i click on > from april it does nothing and if i click again it takes me to june.
It doesn't end there. The june/may thing happens only when the selected day (the one shaded light grey on the month and week views and bright blue on the little month tab on the left) is after 04 june. If a day from the first week of june (i have my weeks start on sunday) is selected, the < button does take me to may, but several events which i deleted a long time ago are showing up.
Now, i have an event set for today (04 june). Since the first four days of june are in the same week as the last three of may, the month view for may shows these four days, as any normal calendar app would.
If i use the month tab to the left to navigate, i can access may 2011 by selecting any day on that month. However, iCal's behaviour depends on which day was selected previously. If the previous day was in april 2011 or earlier, iCal will show the month of may completely empty, which is great because i have no leftover appointments from may; however, the box for 04 june is also empty, which it shouldn't be. If the previous day was in june 2011, it'll show may with a repeating event on every sunday except the first, which is completely absurd, since i have deleted this event (and why isn't it showing on the first sunday in may?); the box for 04 june, however, will correctly show the event i have set for this day. If the previous day was in july 2011 or later, it'll show may with the repeating event on all sundays (including the first one) and it won't show anything on the box for 04 june.
Obviously, there is a bug with may 2011.
In case it helps, i do have a repeating event set to all sundays until the end of existence, but i have deleted all the entries from may and previously, since they have obviously already happened. Also, i had many other repeating events set to happen on different weekdays; these are to repeat themselves weekly until about halfway through june, and they started on april or may (can't remember right now). Like the sunday one, i have deleted all the entries from may because they have already taken place. Strangely (and thankfully), none of these appear when i visit may from june or later, as does the sunday event.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Or am i forever stuck with week view, which has so far proven to be bug-free?
(I did a search on Google and another on the Apple forums for this issue but could find nothing, so i decided to ask the question myself. I apologise if somebody has already asked this question and i just couldn't find it.)

I have a vague recollection of someone else with this issue but haven't experienced it myself nor encountered it recently.
Troubleshooting:
1.) First make an iCal backup: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2966.
2.) Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical and / or "ical"
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.

InDesign bug with wacom intuos

Hello! I have a problem with In design. Since I got a new wacom intuos pen and touch, I have a bug with In Design, it won't save or save as, can't even do UNDO. Does anybody has ever experience this kind of problem? I have mac OS X version 10.6.8 and Adobe CS5.

Yes. But working in CS6. Can't save. Wacom stylus doesn't respond until I tap somewhere out of the CS6 environment and then tap back in the CS6 environment. Then sometimes stylus responds. Also try edit/purge/all action. It seems to help, but in reality this is no way to work.

Optimistic Locking - Possible bug with Weblogic

After extensive testing of a j2ee application Im involved with, it would appear their exists a problem with using Weblogic's Optimistic Concurrency (OL) mechanism.
The exact problem is as follows:
The ejbCreate and ejbRemove methods of a particular entity bean are as follows:

Previously before OL was added when a RemoveException was thrown, this would cause the ejbRemove exception to fail, thus both the product and folder would still exist.
After adding OL, when an InvalidAccessRightsException occurs giving rise to a RemoveException being thrown, weblogic simply ignores the RemoveException and deletes the Product even though the Folder could not be deleted. This causes system errors when users try to access the folder which contains a link to a product which no longer exists!
Is anyone aware of this particular problem? Is it indeed a bug with Weblogic? For clarity, I believe I am using version 8.1 and the way in which I have implemented OL is to use an additional version column in the underlying tables for all entity beans.

In case anyone's interested, it appears from further testing that the problem I've been having in the way the RemoveException behaves is down to the difference in which version 6.0 treats this exception compared to version 8.1!
In version 6.0, if you threw a RemoteException at any point in the ejbRemove(), the entity would not be removed!
In version 8.1, something wierd happens. If a RemoteException() is thrown in the ejbRemove() and sometime during the same transaction at the point of commit, the entity on which the exception is thrown is attempted to be accessed (through a finder), then the entity continues to be deleted! If on the other hand, a RemoveException is thrown and no access/modification is attempted on that entity within the same transaction, then at the point of commit, the entity is not removed!
Seems this is indeed a problem which needs to be addressed in future releases.

Huge Bugs with Many Legs Still Living in Premiere Pro - (Border from Sharpening & Flickering from Adjustment Layer)

I haven't edited video in awhile. While working on a new project I've run into a bunch of what I suppose are well known issues in Premiere Pro CC 2014. It seems Adobe has know about these issues for some time, but that for some reason, nothing is being done about them. Here is my most recent experience with editing a video using PP:
1. Found that color correction tools in Premiere Pro for setting White Balance Suck for folks who don't edit video 8 hours a day.
Searched on web to find solution find that Adobe has no fix but random humans have found hack solution: White Balance in Premiere Pro CC on Vimeo

2. Found out that adding an Adjustment layer can cause flickering in footage.

Added mask to control flickering. More specifically, I turned each effect in the adjustment layer on and off until I found the particular effect that was causing the flickering. Then I created a mask in that effect which covered the entire frame. Mystically the flickering disappeared. Learned that if you make any changes to adjustment layer effects, flickering will return and you have to delete/recreate the mask once again. Ridiculous.
3. Thought all was good and that I could now peacefully continue to finish my project. I was wrong. Found that adding sharpening in adjustment layer causes a small border to form around the entire frame. The pixels seem faded or translucent or something.
Searched on web to find solution find that Adobe has no fix but random humans have found hack solution: Sharpening bug Premiere Pro - - Fourmedia
So now I've learned that the sharpening effect needs to go on it's own adjustment layer. Awesome.
Flickering returns because I made a change to adjustment layer 1. Re-mask. Sweet.
That's it. Pretty sure this post will help folks out, but man I am going to run out and give another NLE a shot. None of these operations should be this difficult. Makes me wonder if Adobe even attempts to use their own programs. I don't see how anyone could possibly let a huge tool like Premiere Pro suffer from these issues -- and for so long a period of time. Absolutely ridiculous. Adobe truly seems to be asleep at the wheel. This is some amateur crap here.

Bank DC issue (Bug with ESS 603?)

We are trying to disable the 'Edit' and 'Delete' button in the Bank Overview iView.
As the first step we tried printing some message in the init() and wdDoModify() method of VcPerBankUSOverview of essusbank using IWDMessageManager.After rebuilding and deploying,somehow the messages are not geting printed.
If we try printing in the detail view, its getting printed.But not in the Bizcard view of VcPerBankUSOverview.Am I in the wrong place? Is this bizcard getting created dynamically for Bank Overview screen.
I tried printing messages in Per DC too.
We are in ESS 603.Is this a bug with ESS 603?

Hi,
to disable the Edit and Delete buttons of the bank overview there are 2 options. Neither of them involves changing a standard component or even any kind of development.
1 - Configure the correct authorizations in ECC system so that the users don't have authorization to modify or delete the data.
2 - Disable the buttons by using the Java Webdynpro Personalization: preview the iView and press CTRL + right mouse button on top of the buttons.

Bug with selection tool in Photoshop CS

I find a bug with photoshop.
I work on video editing, so I usually create some image with not square pixel. In DV for exemple, we use 1,066 pixel ratio.
So I create a layer in full screen for DV editing (720*576 pixels for PAL in Europe) with 1,066 pixel ratio.
If I want to delete a area with 720*576 ratio, I use the selection tool and I select (keep the ratio 720*576) ... but the area wich I delete Is not really the correct ratio 720*576 !! Because, If I create a layer with the object tool (create a rectangle) with the correct ratio 720*576, It isn't the same shape as my old area.
So I think there is a bug ... isn't it ?
PS : sorry for my english, but I'm french.

But we don't have the CS4 ... anybody want to test this ?

Bug with highlighted text in Illustrator CS6

Hi! I use AI CS6 on a mac book pro Lion 10.7
I got a recurrent bug with the text tool.
When I selct a text sometimes the highlight totally hide my text and it's difficult to edit it! I tried CMD+H and CMD CTRL+H but nothing works, even hide bounding box...
As you can see... It's an issue to read and edit the text properly!
And even in wireframe view CMD+Y texts appear like blocs!
And besides this happen not on evry texts in the document.. I don't have a clue
Very annoying!
Anyone has the same problem? Solution is would be appreciated!

What you have done is, Switched on the "Show Hidden characters" option. U can hide it back by
Clicking on "Type" (Which will be in navigation bar) and see if u have checked in "Show Hidden Characters " if so uncheck it and your problem will be solved.
or you can also use the short cut " Alt+Ctrl+I "

Captivate 5 - issue with editing imported PowerPoints that have been resized

I'm having an issue with editing PowerPoint files that have been imported into Captivate 5 when they have been resized within the Captivate project after the initial import.
1. I import a PowerPoint presentation into 800x600 dimension.
2. I resize the project to 900x600 by not locking the aspect ratio and selecting to position to the top right so there is a 100 pixel strip to the left of the slide that we use for navigation buttons and other info.
3. If I need to make a change to a PowerPoint, I select Edit > Edit with Microsoft PowerPoint > Edit Slide (or Edit Presentation).
4. The slide opens in PowerPoint and I make the changes and click Save.
5. When the slide is imported back into Captivate, it is stretched and resized to not fit either 800x600 or 900x600, but something in between. This did not happen in Captivate 4 - the slide would retain the 800x600 dimension slid over to the right with no issues.
Are there any settings that can be done to ensure the edited slides will import back into the project with the correctly sized dimensions for the current project?

I agree that it would be nice to see a notification. You know, Captivate offers a special area for notifications that appear when you open it. I'm stymied as to why Adobe doesn't use this area for making such announcements.

Hi, i've got the X-Fi Fatalty Titanium Soundcard since last day and im really happy about that soundcard.
But......
Ive gotta real problem now.. when i starting a voice program like Teamspeak 3 or ICQ / X-Fire whatever..
my voice is crunshing, sounds like overdri'ved. i tried every settings on that drivers but it wont work.. and the best is.. when i start to listen myself on windows to check how my voice is on it.. it is clear and fine. Only on Voice Tools are this crap sound.. i really dont know anymore what i can do also to smash the card outta my window..
what i've tried :
All Driver / Stuff deinstalled.. cleaned with Driver Sweeper / Driver Cleaner Pro and TuneUp Registry Cleaner
and i've tried the old stuff on CD inclusi've the latest Driver for my OS (Windows XP Professional x64) "2.7.0007"
it dont work.. got the same bug
i've tried the Final Edition of Pax Drivers 200 Suit... and same thing....
at last i've tried the latest driver 2.7.0007 with the latest Console Center "2.6.09" but also.. the sound on Voice Tools always craped again..
and i got on Games like Call of Duty 4 always some sound bugs like a shot is repeat or some other sound is repeat or strange cut.
this all makes me really sad...
i would be looking forward if anyone here got a idea how to fix this problem..

FRe: Bugs with Microphone (X-Fi Soundcard) on Voice Tools (Teamspeak 3)?so... i keeped this settings as ussualy for the future for other guys they got maybe the same problems with voicetools and microphone settings on X-Fi cards..
i installed the actuallay driver settings and all programs for the X-Fi..
after that i restart my PC and going into the BIOS and activated my Onboardsoundcard.
when i start my windows again i installed the HD Realtek Drivers and Programs... after restart i choose on System--> Audio etc..
Soundinput ---> Realtek
Soundoutput ---> X-Fi
now it works for me great.. i got no Microphone bugs anymore on Voicetools and also i got a really really great sound from the X-Fi on Games and Music.
I hope i have some guys help with this art of solving that problem.. sry but i've tryied 0 different ways of Driver settings and i tryied Daniel_K Drivers / Pax Drivers and old Creative Drivers... nothing solved my problems..
oh and of course if u got some noise sounds like a pipe sound but really high and not really loud just like u can hear what the Computer is working inside your headset.. make the newest Creative Drivers on it.. there must be a new setting who Mute this sounds.. i got no signals anymore in my headset how the PC is work.. all is silence when i do nothing.. its really chilled
So.. bb and l8er for u all..
oh.. and thx for "no" support after all in the last 2 Days here..

Lots to be excited about. BUT...Just updated to 8.1 on one of my computers to test it out...
Sadly, the following issue is NOT fixed for me. Is it with new projects only? I haven't started a new project on 8.1 I've only opened an old project but the issue that I'm referring to which involves also a delay/freeze of anywhere from a few seconds to a MINUTE while the render bar goes from yellow to red and then back to yellow is still there. Boo.
On the list above...
Switching between sequences can turn the render bar red.
This issue is incredibly easy to replicate. I really do hope it gets fixed. Here are the steps:
1) Create two sequences with multiple short clips (the more clips the better)
2) Make sure GPU acceleration is enabled.
3) Add warp stabilizer to the clips in both sequences. Again, the more clips the longer the delay/freeze will be as the render bar goes from YELLOW to RED and then eventually back to YELLOW again.
4) Hit SAVE.
5) Now, toggle between sequences. You'll hit a short delay with a few clips stabilized and a LONG delay with lots stabilized. In my case this delay is around a full minute. The render bar will go from YELLOW to RED and then back to yellow...eventually.
6) Toggle back to the original sequence and the delay occurs again.
7) Once you've toggled between sequences and have gone through this delay, that's it, there is no longer a delay...UNTIL...(and here's the big kicker)...until the project is SAVED again. After that the issue returns when you toggle between sequences. Both saving manually and AUTOSAVING cause this issue. No way around it except not editing with GPU acceleration.
Not sure what the issue is...caching issue when saving maybe? Either way, it stinks and it's still there in 8.1. Big bummer.
Again, lots to be excited about with this release but I really was hopefully this specific issue was resolved.
Sigh.
