Bug with Flickr Upload

Has any one else had a problem with the Flickr export will use the wrong date? It seems to be using either the modified or created date of the file at the time it was added to Aperture instead of the date that is in the EXIF info. Also this bug only shows up when I add the photo to a set, not when I upload it to my photostream. Is there some way to report this directly to Apple? It is very frustrating how half-baked their Flickr support really is...
Ken

Yes.  am getting this with iPhoto (not tried with Aperture).

  • Photos app problem with Flickr upload

I updated to new Yosemite on mac mini.  Now with the photos app I can only upload 30 photos to my flickr account and the titles do not upload.  I never had this problem with iPhotos (I could upload hundreds of photos and all the titles uploaded)  Help

I have the same problem: The Title/Description is not uploaded/exported with my photos to the Caption field in Flickr or Facebook. I'm afraid this is a bug right now...

  • What is up with Flickr Uploads?

I am using the trial of Lightroom 3, and have uploaded a bunch of my photographs to Flickr. I noticed that quite a few of them (I'm guessing about 1/4) have strange digital artifacts. See this photograph for an example. What is doing that and how can I stop it? I'd like to buy LR3, but unless I can get that sorted I may not.

I think it is quite safe to eliminate LR as a source of the problem. It doesn't do anything else but submit an upload request to the Flickr API.
Have you tried to export the same image to say a location on the harddrive?
Do you still see the green bar?
Have you tried uploading the same image to Flickr manually?
Again, I think there is little chance that LR is to blame unless there is a rendering problem which should show up in other rendering, e.g., exports as well.

  • Flickr upload with labeled iPhoto shots

Does anyone know how to upload labeled photos to Flickr from iPhoto 5? I've spent a lot of time labeling my library and I don 't want to do it all over again having just discovered Flickr. Any advice will be appreciated.

You could try using the free Flickr Upload action and building an automator workflow to do it.

  • Tags/Captions and Flickr Upload w/ PSE4

Not sure if this is a PSE problem or a Flickr problem, figured I'd ask here first to see if anyone else uploads to Flickr.
I caption and tag my pictures in PSE, then do a "write tags to file". When I upload those pictures to Flickr (using the Flickr Uploader), maybe 95% do not have a caption, and 5% does. The difference with that 5% is that those are pictures I've edited within PSE multiple times. It seems like either my PSE captions aren't getting saved with the rest of the pictures, or Flickr isn't pulling them.
Anyone have any experiences either way or ideas? Please tell me there's a way to fix this.

Initially I imagine it not being integrated directly into PSE. In other words it wouldn't be a drop down in the share button toolbar. I've done a little bit of research and poked around in the data files and haven't found a way that I could integrate it just yet but I'm still looking. This would definitely be cool to do.
When you say, "ability to chose to send tags and captions with the pictures without having to write tags to the original file," I assume you mean not writing to the meta data of the image? Here's a quick step-by-step overview of how I imagine the app working that should hopefully clarify this point as well as make it more clear how I imagine the app running.
Let me preface the description by saying I would try and write the application in such a way where it could easily be expanded to support other photo sharing services and possibly other photo cataloging apps (though this is much less of a priority).
1.) Start PSESync (this was just an initial name idea. If anybody has any name suggestions I would love to hear them).
2.) Choose a catalog to work with (file dialog, drop-down, etc).
3.) Choose a service to sync your catalog with (this would initially only be Flickr but could be branched out to another service or even a simple XML output).
5.) Enter in needed parameters for the service (in the case of Flickr the username and password of the account your using)
    4.) Press the "Analyze" button.
5.) PSESync will first check to see if your catalog has ever been synced with the selected service before. If not it will create a new table in the catalog database to contain the sync information.
6.) PSESync will then sync your images (including captions and tag information) and collections with the service. No changes will be made to the images at sync time, only the data that PSE keeps (captions, tags, etc). I may include automatic resizing of images when a new image is uploaded but this would probably come after the initial release.
By syncing I mean any information that is newer in the catalog then they are in the service will overwrite data in the service and any information that is newer in the service will overwrite the data in the catalog. The details of how this process would work are still being worked out.
I'm hoping that in the next couple of days I can get the basics of PSESync scoped and also get create the project on Sourceforge (http://www.sourceforge.net) to track feature requests, bugs, etc. I'll post that information when it's available but for the time being if anybody has any suggestions I'm all ears.

  • LR3 Flickr upload problem

Keep getting "Connection Broken" when I try to upload.
I followed the instructions to allow LR3 to interact with Flickr.
When I select a group of photo's to be uploaded, a box opens that asks for my Password.
Interestingly there is a box also for User Name but it is not requested?
When I then press Upload, it appears to start but then gives me the message above.
I am using the 30 Day Trial. Could that be it? Is upload disabled in the Trial?
    Regards,
    Bill

I migrated from the LR 3 beta to the 30 day trial and have a flickr pro account with no issues with connection or publishing other than some minor LR Bugs of photo's occassionally getting "stuck" (see http://forums.adobe.com/message/2910399#2910399 in case interested when you get it working).
You mentioned an "Upload" button or menu... "When I then press Upload".  I've not seen that on my LR it is normally labeled "Publish" for me, just checking.    If you edit your connection settings does it show "Logged in as ..." with the "Log in" button disabled or "Not logged in"?
If not logged in have you tried it again by pressing the button?
Beyond that I've no ideas, but at least you should know that it is not a tial problem
    Alan.

  • How can I use more than one Facebook ID in Photos? (Plus, Flickr upload issues!)

I'm having problems with the new Photos and ability to share images from the application. It seems I can only have my personal Facebook ID, and can't add a second ID (which is my business page, which I also like to post images to).
Any idea how to add a Facebook Page ID?
Also having major problems with Flickr. Seems inputting my user name (through System Preferences) does not match my actual user name in the Flickr app, so I can't upload images. UGH. (Why was this okay in iPhoto, but not now?) The only way to access Flickr is inputting your Yahoo ID, but if your Yahoo ID is different than your actual user name on Flickr, you're screwed.
Any ideas? I tried deleting the profile, but I still can't input my Flickr name.
    Thanks.

So, after trying to upload an album four times, it seems it finally kicked in/made the connection on Flickr. MAGIC.
A second Facebook ID, however, remains a mystery.

I remember that there was a bug in the MultipartHandler of the BC4JRequestProcessor in one of the 10.1.2.x version, however I'm nit sure which one. I found the old fix we implemented back then
Try this request processor and see if this helps:

  • How do I ask iPhoto to stop sharing select photos with Flickr ?

I have selected some 200 photos to "share" with Flickr, unknowing it meant synching, not just uploading.
Now I want to remove some of those photos from Flckr but want to keep the local copies on iPhoto (9.5.1) in my Mac intact. I hear  removing on Flckr side would cause the one in my Mac to be removed also.  I don't want this to happen.
So before doing so, I would like to cancel sharing of this photo. But I see no way to undo sharing.  Is there a magic key stroke to cause sharing to end?

You can not cancel the sharing of a photo
You can log out of Flickr =in iPhoto and the the syncs will not occur
You can remove the photo from the Flickr shard set with removing it from the iPhoto library by selecting the photo in the Flickr album on iPhoto and pressing delete - this will delete forma he Flickr album on iPhoto and from Flickr but not from the iPhoto library

  • Problems With FTP Upload in Leopard 10.5.3-4

Hi, I experience a strange problem with ftp upload speed in 10.5.3-4. When I start upload a file to my trusted ftp server the upload speed starts to decrease from 300 kb/sec to 35 -40 kb/sec. It remains normal for 1-2 minutes (about 300 kb/sec) and then smoothly decreases to 35 -40 kb/sec. Pressing Stop and then Resume in Cyberduck makes speed normal for 1-2 minutes and then it starts to decrease again. It does not depend on ftp-client, it does not matter if I use either Cyberduck, Transmit or Fetch. It happens if I use either ethernet or airport connection. I have my old Powerbook with 10.4.11, it's connected to the same router with the same settings and the same time upload speed remains stable about 300 kb/sec.
But when I transfer files from my Macbook to my old Powerbook via ftp everything is fine. And when I transfer files to ftp server of my local ISP it's also fine.
Please, help me, I have to upload big 100 Mb files very often and it's significant difference for me 30 or 300 kb/sec
    Boris

I'm afraid it's not just the Duck or FTP, Boris....It's many many Apps...and protocols... 10.5 appears to have ;broken',a number of file transfer protocols and Apps... (Wired and KDX are two that come to mind- precisely the same symptoms, AND some others) Apple's own 'built-in' FTP appears OK Mac-Mac, oddly enough.
There's obviously some kind of weird Copy-Paste problem too.
It's obviously 'fixable' or a workaround is available because several s/w mobs have released 'fixes for 10.5 file transfer Bug'
The rest of us will just have to wait while another unannounced, unacknowledged, gaping hole in the Mac OS is quietly fixed and our expensive s/w sits unusable...
Not really good enough, is it ?
Like: Not being able to automatically detect a part file transfer on FTP and Auto-resume from whence you left off: something we thought was pretty cool- back in about 1984.... and absolutely essential in 86 or so.
Boris:You will almost certainly find that it happens whatever the client-server server setup and applications or Medium... I've seen precisely what you describe happen with Airport, Cable, 10/100/1000' local' LAN...
    - and watching your throughput drop from 300K to 300 BYTES/Sec is NO FUN.
I've spent a lot of time and money convincing potential 'Switchers' of the superiority of the Mac way over the last 20 years or so...
I'm getting pretty tired at defending the indefensible: 'SkoolBoy Misstakes' in a 24 year old 'superior Computer.- Not Good enough, Apple.

  • Flickr upload syncing

Using the Flickr uploader changes information in photos. Why is the following happening? Any way to change it.
    1. It causes them to take on the date of the upload to Flickr rather than their actual EXIF date. This is annoying me to death since I like to have my photos organized by date correctly.
    2. The original file takes on the name of Flickr's custom name for the image. This means that when I import folders, the original file thinks it hasn't been imported yet and tries to again.

I am also of the view that the Flickr publishing in LR (inc 3.4RC) is seriously broken in several respects including a failure to be able to republish a set of photos which are private and not publically searchable – an API error occurs on republishing.  Also for your publically published photos if you ever re-publish, they become marked as not-publically searchable when they get to Flickr.     This may be relevant if you expect your photos to be publically found based on your tagging or titles showing up in searches.
I too recommend Jeffrey Friedl’s plugin until such as time as Adobe chose to fix this or strike up a commercial relationship with Jeffrey to ship his.

  • Flickr upload failures in Mac PSE 9

Hi, I've not yet managed to get Flickr upload working in PSE 9 on MacOS 10.6.6.
The symptom is that the upload brings up a blank, white window which is rapidly replaced by a grey window with the error:
Sorry, an error occurred during the uploading process. Please try again later.
On the first attempt, I was invited to authorise Adobe PhotoServices to access my Flickr account and this appeared to go OK, but then the upload failed.  I've followed troubleshooting advie from Adobe on the web but to no avail.
I did manage to upload from a PC running PSE9 and the MAC upload worked once afterwards, but has failed ever since.
Has anyone go any suggestions please?

Thanks Barbara, I assumed it would be the same as Windows.

Perhaps try the Editor top menu:
    File > Process Multiple Files
Then choose an output folder on your hard drive or CD/DVD etc.
    Otherwise use iPhoto:
File -> Export, Kind: Original etc.

  • Recurring issue with mobile upload

    Hi all,
Using Lightroom 5.6, I am experiencing ongoing issues with synchronising  (uploading) LR to mobile devices. In brief, the upload will typically fail in mid-session with some collections partially or fully uploaded and some not started. (This may initially have been caused by going off-line during an upload),  It will not recover. Deleting all uploaded data to prompt a restart does not help - it does not restart either.
Previously I have had to contact support and send the diagnostic report. Apparently there is a flag on the server end that needs resetting. Not the most satisfactory of solutions as it requires an action outwith the users control, but it does / did reset the file transfer interface. Apparently this bug was scheduled for fixing in the next up date. I understand I am on the latest (5.6) version , so does anyone know if this is still a bug?
Meantime, can support please reset my connection?
    Regards .... Alastair

    Hi Alastair,
    I've contacted you privately.
    Thanks,
    Ignacio

  • Why I cannot connect with Flickr on internet for sharing, message says I may have a firewall.?

I cannot connect with Flickr for photo sharing, message says I may have a firewall blocking connection to internet, I have disables firewalls but still cannot connect.

    midghome12,
Are you using Adobe Photoshop Elements?
If so, just let us know, and someone can Move your post to that very active and helpful forum.
As Chris points out, Adobe Photoshop does not have direct Internet uploading, so I suspect that you have PsElements.
Just let us know the exact program, that you have.
    Good luck,

  • Flickr upload help lightroom v4 last version

    Hi
    i have lightroom v4 64bit last version
and in flickr i created some collections and sets
how can i upload photos in these collections and sets ?
    thanks

I'm having the same problem. Whenever I try to use iPhoto to upload photos to Flickr, it takes a loooooong time, gets hung up a lot, is forever "pending" and is just a huge waste of time! Really frustrating.
I'm running OSX, 10.6.8 and I'm using iPhoto '11 version 9.1.5. I'm uploading the photos at full resolution (3648x2746px), which obviously is going to take longer than uploading smaller versions, but it's not THAT big - shouldn't take all day. At first I thought this problem might be related to some kind of problems with internet connection, but I've tried in a lot of different places, including at home, where i have a great internet connection and normally no problems.
I've been struggling with this for a few months and it's totally driving me nuts - if I can't figure this out soon, I am going to quit using iPhoto entirely.
Does anybody use iPhoto with Flickr successfully?
