Bugreport: intelligent playlists don't work, if mediatype is used

I found the following bug with intelligent playlists and ipod classic:
If I use "Medienart" (i guess media type in English) as a criteria for an intelligent playlist, it is no longer intelligent on my ipod classics (80GB and 160GB).

If you have a playlist with Wiedergaben(=play count ?)=3 and you play one song from that playlist, this song will disapear from that playlist after you play it. (This also works with pretty complex criteria.)
But once you add media type<>audiobook to that playlist, the list becomes static. (i.e. the song will not disapear from the playlist after you played that song.)

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

As Guest, launch the application(s) and test. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.

HT3842 Those steps don't work. I'm using the lastest version of itunes (11.0.1.12) on Windows. This article was last updated in 2009 and lists itunes 7.7. Anyone have any ideas, or is there a new article that accounts for the changes to itunes?

Playlists don't work with separate audio clips

I have a timeline with 8 different clips and chapter playlists set up to play each clip individually and to play them in pairs. This works fine.
But when I add audio to the timeline it goes wrong. I have 8 different audio clips that match up with the video clips. If I view the timeline itself, everything is OK. If I view the first clip's playlist (with the first audio clip) it also works OK. But if I view any of the other playlists, the DVD (and previewer) return me back to the menu as soon as the audio track starts (this is the end action). If I delete any of the audio tracks, the playlists for those videos work fine again.
I also see similar behaviour on another timeline where a second audio clip starts midway: the chapter immediately before the new audio track is skipped in a playlist and the DVD plays the subsequent chapter (there are many chapters on that timeline).
The only solution I've come up with is to burn a DVD with no audio, rip the video, line up the audio tracks I want to use with the video, export them all in one big file and then add that single clip into Encore. It's not really something I want to do, to be honest.
Is there any explanation for this strange behaviour, or is it another bug?

I'm with Neil on the 8 separate Timelines. There are pitfalls to grouping multiple Clips onto one Timeline, and even an Audio Unit's difference in Duration can cause issues.
If you do go with the discrete Timelines workflow, you'll just do Playlists, and not Chapter Playlists instead.

Satellite A300-1JH PSAGLE: Control buttons don't work with XP

Hello there.
I own a Toshiba Satellite A300 psagle.
It works beautifully, but there is a problem: the tactile music buttons don't work.
I am using Windows XP and I have installed all the drivers available.
Could some one please tell me what I should do.
P.s. how can I activate the "face recognition" option?

Regarding the Toshiba Control Media buttons;
You have to install the Toshiba Controls from the Toshiba European driver page.
Check there the Satellite A300 PSAG8E series and download the Toshiba Controls

My buttons don't work :-(

Yesterday I was trying to put some buttons in my .indd but they only worked one time! I can't believe it. The file has 3 pages, and I put one button in the first, with the option Go to last page, and I put another button in the last page to Go to the first page, but they don't work. I chaged the buttons each time I tried to, and I used both buttons of the gallery and images turned into buttons, but they don't work anyway.
I use InDesign CS5, and horizontal orientation. Could someone help me? I'm frustrated.

Oh!! It works, the problem was that I used the preview option in the Menu "File". I have just published and i can see it working in the preview of the Folio Builder panel and in my iPad... I have solved using a solution that I saw in the foro, with Go to URL --> URL: navto://namearticle#0

Chapters don't work

I created my first project. Video done in imovie 08, DVD done in iDVD 08. The first time I made it, all chapters worked fine but I had the wrong music on opening screen. So I went back and changed it and burned another DVD. Now the chapters do not work. I have tried deleting the iDVD prefs and creating a new project from scratch which means redoing the chapters but they still don't work on playback when using the advance button. I have seen a lot of discussion around this issue but no real solution that works for me. Is this a known bug? Is there a work around?

Whether I use "preview all pages in browser" or export "html and images", the cursor changes to a hand over the links, but the links don't react to the mouse click. Also, when I export a multi-page file, I get as a result a listing of .gif files instead of .html files.

ITunes 7.6 Bug: Does not play music from Intelligent Playlists

Since I upgraded to iTunes 7.6 I can no longer play music from my intelligent playlists. Whenever I try it will remove the song from the playlist instead of playing it.
Has anybody else experienced this and maybe found a solution?
And if not, how can I downgrade to iTunes 7.5?

... and one other thing: I had to re-activate my computer repeatedly to be able to listen to the music bought in the iTunes store. After several vain attempts it finally worked when I accessed the piece directly in my music library instead of from a playlist. However, my computer was re-activated as a new pc although it had been activiated already before the upgrade.
And as to changing the infos - in my case to Soundtrack - this works only as long as the intelligent playlist tries to actually play he song. Then the info changes back automatically to the former status - in my case the German "Filmmusik" (meaning soundtrack in German).
So it seems that this is simply a localisation (or purely German?) problem with iTunes getting mixed-up with the non-English and English definitions. I now have changed all genre infos to "Filmmusik" instead of Soundtrack, and voila, it is working. - Very strange, indeed.
Anyway, for the time being I will not mark this thread as solved as I am not sure that this is the permanent solution.

New playlists don't populate to "music" tab to sync

Since Itunes 9, half my playlists don't appear in my "music" tab for me to sync to my ipod. Can't seem to make it happen. Any suggestions?

Oh, I forgot to mention. On the new computer, in iTunes, I can right-click on my iPhone and select "backup" and it works fine. I don't know if that helps in any way. My main concern is not losing my saved data from all the apps I use.

Automatic (intelligent) Playlist Sync Problems

I am using iPhone 4S running on iOS 8.2 and Itunes for Windows 12.1.1.4 and I have got problem with a special playlist.
I have defined a playlist like this:
Track, which have not been played for more than 2 year
and
have got rating for more than 3 stars and genre is not like pop.
The playlist is working on itunes fine and selects files according to definition. If I play a song on iTunes this sone will be removed from this list on iTunes. This works perfect.
iTunes even syncs this ist to my iPhone without any mistake.
When I play one song on my iPhone from this list the playlist recognizes that I have played this song and is reducing the amount of songs after playing each song. At least I have heard all songs and now my problem is starting.
iTunes does not recognize that I have played these songs on my iPhone and does not update the playlist at iTunes for the on the iPhone played songs.
It seems that there is a sync problem from iOS 8.2 to iTunes 12.1.1.4
Does anybody have got any idea how to fix this problem?
Any help would be appriciated.

You can make a playlist of your own and set the option yourself. Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -My iPod for example (the dash will position it at the top of the playlists in Sources). You can make it a smart playlist that picks the songs for you or just a normal one and drag whatever content you want to have into the playlist. If you are making a smart playlist limit it to just less than the size of your iPod. Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting, you just need to make sure that the size of the playlists don't exceed the capacity of your iPod:

To make a random playlist go to File>New Smart Playlist.
Uncheck "Match the following rule"
Check "Limit to" put the size of the playlist you want to sync in the number box, choose "MB" or "GB" from the first list box, choose "Random" from the next list box. Check "Live Updating"
When you want to change the selection in the smart playlist just delete everything in it and it will add a new selection. When you want to change the normal playlist just delete out what you don't want and drag in a new selection.
