Bugs in Viewer (when play audio - visual amplitude)

When I open audio file in Viewer I see part of graphic amplitude. When I press space (play) and I use zoom out tool FCP play this sound files but I can see video bugs (black vertical lines in Viewer and there is no continuation of the amplitude, to get rest of the amplitude back, I must press stop and start again. This is quite enoying.

As long as you're enjoying it, why worry?
Seriously though, are you saying that FCP isn't drawing the waveform completely? If so, is the Viewer set larger than "Fit to Window?"

  • BH-121 headset - hiss when playing audio

    Hi,
    I've just bought a BH-121 which I use with my Lumia 920.  Generally it's great, but I'm really disappointed by a constant hissing noise when playing audio.
    The hiss is very quiet, but noticable.  It is not present when the headset is in standby, and I can hear it begin when the phone begins to transmit audio and end a second or so after the end of the audio.  The volume is very quiet, but constant and doesn't vary according to the distance between the devices, how they are positioned, where I am, etc.
    Is the headset supposed to make this hissing noise?  Should I be returning it?
    Thanks,
    Matthew

    Hi Matthew_,
    Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
    Upon checking, the said Bluetooth headset is not compatible with your Nokia Lumia 920. This is the reason why you hear some hissing noise while using the accessory. For more information, you can take a look at this link for the recommended devices:

  • How get multiclips to stay in viewer when playing/editing in timeline?

    I just started editing in multiclip. I can get my 3 multiclip clips to show in the Viewer on a 4-up display, but when I play the Timeline, the Viewer jumps to full frame active view. I've set the RT at Multiclip Playback, set the Open option on the Playhead Sync menu, and set Multi-clip 4-up Display. What am I doing wrong or missing?
    How can I get the multiclips 4-up display to stay in the Viewer when I play the Timeline?
    Thanks,
    Duncan
    Mac Pro Mac OS X (10.4.10) 2 750 HDs, 1 500 HD, 1 1T HD

    There are 2 things to check.
    1. Has your timeline been rendered? I ask this because I was given a 3 camera multiclip project from another editor here, and with all of my settings checked, I still couldn't get the multiclips to show on my external when playing back. Once playback was stopped or the playhead scrubbed, then the 4-up display would return. Just for kicks, I cleared his render cache and bingo, 4-up returned on playback.
    2. In the View menu, is "Show Multiclip Angles" checked? (It's at the very bottom of the menu).

  • +5W power consumption when playing audio on X201 with Linux

    Hi folks!
    My Thinkpad X201’s power consumption raises from ~10W to ~15W when playing any kind of audio under linux. This problem does not seem to be CPU-related (for example when streaming with pulseaudio over ethernet instead of playing directly on the X201 the power consumption does hardly increase) and does not occur under Windows. I’m using Fedora x86_64 16 with Kernel v3.2.1 but it also occured with a v3.2.1 vanilla kernel; Fedora 14 and 15; Ubuntu 11.10 and 12.04 and so on.
    I’ve allready posted my problem several months ago here: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=99246 but haven’t gotten any useful answers.
    I measured power consumption with powertop but also confirmed with readings from /sys:
    while true; do bc -l <<< "$(cat /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/current_now)/10^6*$(cat /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/voltage_now)/10^6"; sleep 1; done

    Is anyone able to confirm this problem or does anyone have a solution? I’m really desperate since I often use my Thinkpad as a big but wonderful portable music player (with headphones of course! Don’t want to annoy my fellow trainpassengers …).
    Thanks in advance

    Any updates on this?

  • Can't select apple tv in itunes when playing audio

    I have the airplay icon. I select the icon and I have 2 options. My computer and Apple TV. If I select Apple TV nothing happens. It remains on My computer. If I start playing audio through itunes then try and select Apple TV nothing changes again. The audio stays coming out of laptop speakers. If I play a video, then select Apple TV, this works.
    I had audio working the other day, but can't think of anything I might have done to change anything. But if video works, why doesn't audio?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Do you have the power cable in, it won't show up with the power cable in.
    Additionally, there have been some issues with the update servers, it's possible you won't be able to complete the update procedure anyway.

  • 32.0.2 won't display WebM/MP4 video even when playing audio

    I just downloaded/installed Firefox today to test web design for a class. This is not an upgrade but a clean install of 32.0.2. I'm running Win7 32-bit (6.1SP1)
    I can not see any video in Firefox, though the files' audio routinely plays just fine. I have tested with files generated by me, and test files from the following sites:
    http://camendesign.com/code/video_for_everybody/test.html
    http://www.htmlandcssbook.com/code-samples/chapter-09/example.html
    The player controls come up, a grey box for the video player area comes up with a play button in it, but when I push play, there is just blank/white space, and the audio. I have tested both with the VLC plugin (2.1.3.0) and without - it makes no difference. All videos play just fine for me using IE and Chrome.
    Any suggestions on why I'm the only person I know who can't view these videos in FF?

    You have a very old video card with very old drivers. It's so old in fact, that looks like Nvidia doesn't even have drivers available that are certified for your operating system.

    Graphics failures are listed in your system details, so this would be the first thing to try:
    # Click the ≡ Menu Button and choose Options.
    # Click the Advanced icon.
    # Click the General tab.
    # Uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available".
    # Restart Firefox.
    If that doesn't help, try this:
    # Click the ≡ Menu Button and choose Add-ons.
    # Click Plugins.
    # Set every plug-in to "Never Activate".
    # Click Extensions.
    # Click the Disable button next to every extension.
    # Restart Firefox.

  • Dell laptop headphone jack does not work when playing audio and video in Firefox 27

    My problem is similar to the one posted in this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/986978?esab=a&s=laptop+headphones+don%27t+work+with+firefox&r=2&fpa=1&as=s
    I believe it has little to nothing to do with extensions.
    I have just installed Firefox 27 on the Dell Inspiron 3520 laptop of a friend. She is an unsophisticated user who has a computer for email, simple web browsing, and watching YouTube and other online videos. Because she frequently seems to end up with junk on her machine, I wanted to switch her over to Firefox so I could install ad and script blockers that would hopefully slow down the frequency of adware and malware roosting in her system.
    The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 3520 with an Intel celeron CPU (64-bit), running Windows 8. There are standard end-user applications installed (Adobe Reader, VLC Media Player, etc.), but no tweaking utilities, etc. The audio drivers are Cirrus Logic High Definition Audio.
    I've been troubleshooting the laptop today trying to track down why the integrated speakers continue to work when the headphones are plugged in, with no sound coming through the headphones. Because I had run a series of virus / malware / adware scans just before installing Firefox, I thought I had mistakenly deleted some system audio files.
    It finally became clear after toggling multiple settings, playing with Windows and Dell sound settings, and experimenting, that the headphone audio jack still works as it should in the system itself (for example, playing videos through VLC Media Player) and in Internet Explorer. It is only in Firefox that plugging in the headphones does not send audio through the headphones nor cut out the integrated speakers.
    Sometimes there is a silencing of the integrated speakers for a few seconds, but then the audio kicks in again. (I am using YouTube and a certain movie streaming website to test the audio).
    However, if the headphones are plugged in before starting the videos, the sound comes through the headphones, but unplugging the headphones, then reinserting them, stimulates problem again. Not only that, but then in YouTube the video will stall and can't be restarted until the page is reloaded.
    Again, this is a fresh Firefox install of less than 24 hours, with only Adblock, Adblock Plus Pop-up Addition, Flashblock, and NoScript installed. There are no themes installed and most of the Options are the defaults that are set upon installation.
    I have both disabled the add-ons and uninstalled them entirely before testing the headphone funtionality. In both instances the problem persisted. I've also uninstalled and let Windows re-install the Cirrus audio drivers.
    Does anyone else have any insight into this problem, and any potential solutions other than "start in Safe Mode" and "reset Firefox"?

    Firefox can switch audio devices within ~ a + or - 10 minute period or so (Just a guess). At which point it latches onto the audio device and will never change until the entire process is shutdown (read last paragraph, there is an exception)
    Ive had this problem for a few months now, at least. And I switch back and forth from my sound system and my wireless USB headset.
    If anything will fix this i believe it would be disabling "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" in the properties of your default audio device, but i doubt it. I think this is an issue regarding the code in firefox itself.
    I'd like to see this turned into a default feature, being able to disable and enable the ability to stay on whichever device was the default at the time of launch, or to always play on the current default device, even if its changed. That or being able to choose a specific device/devices (WOULD LOVE TO THIS).
    Other than that I dont really have a solution, and I kind of doubt anyone will unless its addressed in the next update.
    Oh I thought of one solution that doesnt require restarting firefox, disable the current audio device and the sound will automatically switch to the next available device. Or possibly when a new device is introduced?? I havent done much testing on the matter though. This is just my best guess based on my personal experience with firefox.

  • A/V stream out of sync with when playing audio on SourceDataLine

    Hi,
    I'm receiving a video and an audio stream via RTP and try to play them synchronized (audio synchron with lip movement).
    I'm using a DataSourceReader in order to read from a datasource and play on a JavaSound SourceDataLine. This works pretty good but unfortunately the audio is played with a delay of approx 1 second.
    else if (evt instanceof NewReceiveStreamEvent) {
         try {
              stream = ((NewReceiveStreamEvent)evt).getReceiveStream();
              DataSource ds = stream.getDataSource();
              Format format = null;
              // Find out the formats.
              RTPControl ctl = (RTPControl)ds.getControl("javax.media.rtp.RTPControl");
              if (ctl != null) {
                   format = ctl.getFormat();
                   log.info("Received new RTP stream: " + format);
              else
                   log.info("Received new RTP stream");
              if (format != null && format instanceof VideoFormat) {
                   Player video = javax.media.Manager.createRealizedPlayer(ds);
                   video.start();
                   this.video_player = video;
              else if (format != null && format instanceof AudioFormat) {
                   JavaSoundDataSourceReader dsr = new JavaSoundDataSourceReader();
                   Player audio = dsr.open(ds);
                   audio.start();
                   this.audio_player = audio;
              }          I already tried to synchronize them with
    videoPlayer.addController(audio_player);
    audio_player.start();but this is throwing an Exception:
    javax.media.IncompatibleTimeBaseException
         at com.sun.media.multiplexer.RawBufferMux.setTimeBase(RawBufferMux.java:377)
         at com.sun.media.BasicSinkModule.setTimeBase(BasicSinkModule.java:52)
         at com.sun.media.PlaybackEngine.setTimeBase(PlaybackEngine.java:1672)
         at com.sun.media.BasicPlayer.setTimeBase(BasicPlayer.java:272)
         at com.sun.media.BasicPlayer.addController(BasicPlayer.java:1043)
         at VideoPlayback.update(VideoPlayback.java:281)Line 281 of VidePlayback.java is the "videoPlayer.addController(audio_player);" line.
    My guess is that it should rather use RawSyncBufferMux instead of RawBufferMux but I don't know how to change this. Maybe directly as a processor option?
    Please help as I've no clue how to improve this.

    chummer wrote:
    it should also be synchronized with the video :-)The problem with getting it synchronized is that Javasound & your sound card have internal buffering, so there is some delay between writing to them and hearing the sound come out...
    Normally, JMF handles this internally somehow by aligning things to a timebase, which can be syncronized, and allowing Processors to fill up their internal buffers ahead of time during the prefetching phase so that everything that needs to play together can have an instant start time. As it goes along, presumably adjustments are made as things get out of sync.
    My best advise to you would be to implement your Javasound stuff inside of a Renderer class, instead of a DataSink class. DataSinks are designed to take in data and write it out as fast as they can... whereas Renderers are given data at "real-time" intervals and are designed to be played.
    When implementing your Renderer class, JMF should handle the syncronization for you. IE, it'll give you data as it should be played by calling the Process function, so you'll just need to write the data to your TDL as it comes in. I believe that "Process" may be called before "Start" to allow you to prebuffer some information, but you'll need to test that as I've never actually tried it.

  • Photoshop crashes when playing audio

    I am using Photoshop CS6 on Surface Pro 128GB to edit Video.
    It crashes every time I like the preview the video and hit play in the timeline. First I was thinking it is the Video driver. Then I discovered, that it ONLY crashes when I hit the play button and it needs to play sound. As long as I mute all the clips it plays fine. I also have no problems editing. It is really only coaching immediately when it previews a clip with audio.
    What can that be?
    Please help! TNX!

  • No sound when playing Audio-Cd's and burned movies

    I recently bought a MSI DR-8A and it is working just fine, except when I want to play a burned DVD-movie or an Audio CD I don't have any sound
    When I insert a original DVD, no problem whatsoever. What can this be??????

    Hi Cave,
    LOL. No, when i asked about the power supply, i was asking about the brand, the power rating (250W, 400W...) and especially the different amps ratings on the different rails
    ex: 3.3V: 20A, 5V 18A, 12V 25A.
    all those data should be on the power supply label (inside the case, though).
    Power deficeincies can lead to really strange problems (but i dont think it is the cause here).
    As for your problem, i'm kinda stumped. I asked about all i can think about and i still cant see a solution (more like i cant locate the problem)
    summary:
    DVD:
     - disc is correct as it reads in another player.
     - sound is correct, as pressed DVDs play correctly
     - I'm not familiar with what you mean by Audio TS format.
    CDs:
     - play in the CDRW burner (so, good media)
     - digital audio enabled on DVDRW drive
     - correct sound properties (no mute or low volume)
     - tried different softwares? (winamp, WMP6/7/8/9, DVD player...)
    Does anyone see a problem/solution?
