Bugs inside scr

For a couple of months now there has been two small white bugs crawling inside my screen of my 20GB Zen touch. There was one in an old Zen touch of mine also. Anything I can do? anyone have the same problem?

I've only had my Zen Sleek for a week now, and I have 2 tiny white-ish bugs crawling under my screen already. It's easy to see how they could have got in there, but it's frustrating that i'll just have to li've with them. If many more appear, I might consider returning the Sleek. For now, I think i'm going to give them names...

  • Live 'Bug" inside my 17" Studio Display

    Any reference on-line to opening the Studio Display to remove a tiny bug crawling around inside the clear 'plastic legs' on the Display?
    Thanks!
    ...John

    Yes - you can lay the screen face down (on something soft) and take the (3) screws off the stand to remove the stand portion. Then take out all the screws around the edge of the acrylic. Pull off the back acrylic piece and clean and then put the screws back in. Very easy. I just did this with my 23" Display.

  • A small bug inside my screen

    I know it would sound funny, but there is a tyny bug/insect inside my Mac screen, I see it moving here and there, and I have no idea how to get rid of it. Any ideas?

    There are holes in your Mac, USB ports and ventilation slots to name but a few.
    That's how it got in there.

  • A tic/bug inside the Mac Book screen!

    Dear Apple,
    I bought an apple mac book last August from Kerala on a student plan. I had no complains untill recently, when I was living in Warsaw one night I saw a couple of bugs (tics) scrolling inside the screen!. It was very strange for me and as I was not able to handle it in Poland, I waited till I reached Netherlands. Here I gave my macbook to Xando and official dealer of Mac. They sent it to the service desk of apple in netherlands. They are now asking me for the purchase receipt which I probably lost when my husband's laptop bag including all its contents were stollen this May while travelling by train from Schiphol. How can I get a new purchase receipt? Without it, the service desk told me that they will charge me for cleaning it. Please help me.
    with regards

    Hello OG MacBook,
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
    It is absolutely worth it to change the drive yourself. You can get as big of a drive that you can afford, as long as it meets these criteria.
    2.5" SATA-I (1.5Gbps) or SATA-II (3.0Gbps)
    9mm and I believe 9.5mm in hight I believe. (and most drives are with in this)
    Here are some drives that willwork.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136197
    There are many others and other manufactures but these have the best reviews at newegg (best computer parts company on the net).
    Here is some from OWC (the best Mac parts store online)

    I personally would stay away from the 7200RPM drives as they will not gain to much performance in your case. They run faster, hotter and burn up more battery power.
    You may think about purchasing an external firewire enclosure also to clone you drive before swapping it out. This was you clone your drive then put it into the Macbook, boot and you are up and running.
    Then you can put your old 80Gb drive in to the enclosure and then you have an external drive for backups or file transfers.
    The instructions for this upgrade can be found at iFixit, it is a relatively simple upgrade.
    http://eshop.macsales.com/Search/Search.cfm?Ntk=Primary&Ns=P_Popularity%7c1&Ne=5 000&N=6895&Ntt=2.5harddrive
    If you decide to go with creating a clone of your system before install let us know and we can recommend some enclosures and free backup programs for you.
    Total cost for upgrading the drive with enclosure... $150.00
    Total cost for having more space for pictures, movies and music... Priceless!

  • Pictures inside folders not projects?

    I have come across a rather anoying problem inside of aperture of which I am not sure weather it is of my own doing or simply a bug inside aperture.
    I am in the process of organizing my pictures into projects, folders and albums. Now I have one particular folder that contains three projects. These projects, in turn, contain 30, 29 and 40 pictures respectively. The folder containig the projects however contains 450 pictures, many of which i do not whish to be there.
    My question: how can a folder in aperture contain more pictures then all of the projects within it? And how can i delete these pictures from the folder but not from other projects in my library?
    Thanks in advance

    In addition to clearing all the container filters in order to get complete Image counts for each container, confirm that there are no Images in any regular Albums* in the Folder that are not also in the Projects in the Folder.  The total number of Images in a Folder equals the number of Images in Projects in the Folder plus Images which are not in those Projects but are in Albums in the Folder.
    * Regular Albums are static.  "Smart Albums" are dynamic.  Naming two very different containers "Album" and "Smart Album" seems a badly played opportunity to inform users, imho, especially in light of the added complexity of Aperture having all those other static Albums (Book, Light Table, et al.).

  • Using an embedded font inside of a skinClass?

    I have a font embedded and it works correctly throughout the application... but for some reason I can't get it to work inside a Skin class (base on a button). I tried importing the css file manually and placing the styleName on it but it just doesn't seem to be getting it right (or rather I'm not getting it right).
    Any ideas?

    You know, I think its just a bug inside Flash Builder Burrito. When I run my app through the emulator it doesn't display correctly but when I run it on my phone it works as it should.

    Any help would be nice the only way i got it fixed was restarting .. and it went back to normal.. but its another bug inside 10.6.6

    Well, if it is working now...
    You could check to see what the version of the Finder is as it is not reported in the crash log. The application is here:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder; the version should be 10.6.7. If you suspect a problem caused by updating to 10.6.6, then I suggest downloading and installing the Combo update.

    This is a bug inside workbench and had been fixed in 12c RP002, you can switch to 12cRP002 or later version, the newest is 12c RP004.

  • Flex 4 Beta 2 and Halo Panels

    Hi all.
    I'm banging my head against a wall here, and wondered if someone else could help me out!
    I'm working on a project which utilises a 3rd party open source control based on Halo Panels. It would take quite a bit of time to re-write this control to be Spark based.
    As part of the project spec, the application must be dynamically skinnable to allow easy customisation. This means the look and feel has been done mostly using embedded images within a CSS file, setting background images and other styles that support images. These can be loaded at runtime, and everyone was happy.
    Attached is a screenshot called Flex3Screenshot. This shows the look that was desired in the app : "Glossy" panel headers and a light border around the panel.
    Then, it was decided that we should be using Flex 4 Beta 2, not the previous 3.4 SDK. (The version I'm using is the standard vanilla 4.0.0.10485)
    Mostly, the transition has been OK. I've changed many controls from Halo to Spark as appropriate, but this wasn't possible with the Goozo controls, so we've had to stick with Halo panels as the containers.
    I'm now trying to bring back the old "dark" look and feel, and this is where I'm having trouble!
    I've attached a massively cut-down FlexBuilder project with a simple style sheet, a single glossy title bar image, and an MXML app with a panel in it.
    No matter what I do, I can't get the CSS to work in the same way, because the panel always has a 2 pixel wide border underneath its header. This border is made up of the panels base header colour which has the bitmap put over the top, leaving a small gap.
    I can "remove" this, by setting the baseColor property to black, but the baseColor property seems to override the borderColor property, so I don't have borders any more, which "Isn't What We Want"(tm).
    Setting the headerColors doesn't seem to work in Flex 4 (I've checked, and it works fine in Flex 3, and if it worked, I could spoof the glossy look by just setting a white to black gradient in the header colours), or set the header colour to black and overlay the image.
    I can use the nasty kludge of -theme=${flexlib}/themes/Halo/halo.swc in the command line properties, but that's like admitting defeat! (and I can't guarantee that it will always work!)
    Does anyone have any ideas? As far as I'm aware, I should be able to create an MXML skin component (as per http://blog.flexexamples.com/2009/05/02/changing-the-title-bar-background-fill-on-a-spark- panel-container-in-flex-gumbo/), but as far as I know, I won't then be able to dynamically skin it with a CSS file.
    Many thanks.
    Pete

    Hi,
    Unfortunately this doesn't have anything to do with the FlexUnit code itself. These are bugs inside of the Flash Builder plugin. You may want to post on their forum as well to try to get some support.
    The only advice I can offer, is that things seem to work much better if I consistently use the Execute FlexUnit Tests, which can be found under the run button. They work much less well if I right click and tell it to execute tests.

  • Pink Screen with 17" ADC and DVI converter

    This issue could be with the Apple ADC to DVI convertor box or cable, but I can't confirm if it is that or my monitor. I am using a 17" clear ACD with a mac mini, and I started to get intermittant bright pink screens, which has progressed into pink all the time, and a horizontally squashed screen that shows the desktop twice (one on top of the other, both squashed).
    I am pretty sure that the cable coming out of the convertor box is the culprit, since I was able to get it working normally by jiggling the cable, and it started acting up when I was plugging and unplugging some USB devices. Now it won't work properly at all, and I do not have an old computer to plug the monitor in directly to check with. I did plug the monitor and convertor into a G5 PowerMac, and had the same result. When I plugged in a newer 20" Apple aluminum display into the Mini, it worked fine.
    The trouble is that all of the cables on the monitor and convertors are built in and not easily replaced.
    Any suggestions?

    I bought a new ADC/DVI converter ($99) and that fixed it. I am almost positive it was only the cable.
    My question is: why can't Apple PLEASE make these convertor boxes AND their monitors with removable/replaceable cables?
    I ended up spending 10 times what I should have to fix the issue. it should have never broken in the first place, since it rarely even ever got touched, and had never been disconnected.
    Just for grins, after I bought the new converter, I tried to open the old one to see if I could remove the cable. I could not even get the box open without destroying it.
    My 20" Cinema Display has a dead bug inside it, and it is also impossible to open up without destroying it, just to clean it.
    I just have to express my displeasure at Apple making their products non-servicable. What a waste.

  • HELP WITH OCR

    Hello All. Thank Adobe for products and open SDK for developers it is useful.
    Please could anybody help me and may be some other developers with plug-in witch works with OCR.
    I try to OCR pdf file with 3 image pages inside, with help of Acrobat X 10.0.3 selfmade plug-in.
    There is minimum code inside my plug-in: just call OCR like:
    ASAtom cmdName;
    AVCommand cmd;
    cmdName      = ASAtomFromString("PaperCapture");
    cmd               = AVCommandNew (cmdName);
    ASCab config = ASCabNew();
    ASCabPutInt (config, "UIPolicy", kAVCommandUISilent);
    AVCommandSetConfig (cmd, config);
    AVCommandStatus status = AVCommandExecute (cmd);
    All works fine, but during OCR process Acrobat shows "uncnown error on page 2" then "uncnown error on page 3" message with OK button.
    It happends when OCR at the end of the working with page when during creating outgouing content. It may be the bug inside OCR module.
    I try to separate all pages and page-by-page OCR works fine. Please help me and other users that try to make plug-ins to fix this.
    Best regards,

    I don't see a link to the file.
    1 - There is a way to report bugs to Adobe, but I don't have the URL handy.  Try a web search.
    2 – You can use the various PDDoc & PDPage APIs to create new docs, and reassemble.

  • Center text in Label

    Hola everyone!
    I'm trying to center the text inside a label, like this:
    Stage {
        title: "Application title"
        scene: Scene {
            width: 500, height: 200
            content: [
                Label {
                    text: "Label"
                    width: 500
                    height: 200
                    hpos: HPos.CENTER
    }The text should be in the center of the frame but... upss!! it's in the upper-left corner
    I realized that the way it works is to bind the width and height:
    width: bind 500
    heght: bind 200Now, the text is perfectly centered, but bindind a constant number squeaks a lot!
    Is this a bug? Or is the bug inside my mind? XD

    Since Labels are Resizable, the correct way to set the size is to use LayoutInfo. For example,
    Stage {
       title: "Application title"
       scene: Scene {
           width: 500, height: 200
           content: [
               Label {
                   text: "Label"
                   layoutInfo: LayoutInfo {
                       width: 500
                       height: 200
                   hpos: HPos.CENTER
    }See Amy Fowler's blog for an in-depth look at layout in JavaFX.

  • Flex Unit 4 Beta 2 and Flash Builder

    Hi
    I've downloaded Beta 2 and have got the sample ant task working how I want.
    I'm having problems running tests in flash builder though.
    When I right click and go to execute FlexUnit tests the generated mxml file tries to use the following runner:
    xmlns:flexunit="flexunit.flexui.*">
    <flexunit:FlexUnitTestRunnerUI id="testRunner"/>
    which it can't find.
    No additional swcs were added to the compiler path in the propject properties. Perhaps I just have to add som eprevious version swcs to my lib folder?

  • 9i JDeveloper, nullPointerException, thin driver to 9i on Linux-Help

    Environment Win2K with 9i client software.
    I have 9i JDeveloper configured on a Win2K machine such that it can connect to a Solaris 8 environment running 9i using a thin JDBC driver via the connections in the JDeveloper navigator. It works fine.
    I can launch sqlplus from the Win2K machine and connect to 9i on SuSE 7.3, it works fine.
    I can connect to the 9i DB on SuSE using Access 2000 and ODBC no problem.
    On the SuSE side I also have 9i JDeveloper and it can connect via the connections wizard to the local 9i database and browse the schema.
    I run through the connections wizard on my Win2K machine to setup my connection to 9i on SuSE 7.3 and test. it works fine.
    The problem is when I try to open the database connection to 9i on SuSE from the Win2K machine from within JDeveloper. Then I get a NullPointerException - see below.
    oracle.jdeveloper.cm.CMException: java.lang.NullPointerException
         void oracle.jdeveloper.cm.dt.browser.jdbc.JdbcBrowser.openConnectionBrowser(oracle.jdeveloper.cm.dt.ConnectionBrowsable)

    But if I look at the listener.log on SuSE is looks like the connection succeeded.

    I see no difference in the log between this failed connection and the successful connection I get when I connect using JDeveloper on SuSE connecting to 9i on SuSE other than a different IP address.
    I am at a loss. Can anybody give me a clue as to why I am getting the null pointer exception when I try to open a database connection from Win2K JDeveloper to 9i on SuSE. I have also tried a URL string and that fails as well.
    Thanks
    Hunch

    Bob,
    The error you are getting is not related to connecting to the database. Instead, it is a bug inside of JDeveloper that is related to expanding the database connection in the Navigator.
    Off the top of my head, I'm not sure what the problem is, but I will try to look back through our bug logs to see what I can dig up. In the meantime, can your confirm for me that the version of JDeveloper you are using is the 9.0.2 production release?

  • My SDK doesn't implement Cipher, course of action

    Hi, all. First of all let me tell you that I've checked the forum for this topic. Found 44 threads when searching for "Cipher". I've pretty clear that due to restrictions from the U.S. Goverment, the Sun JC kit doesn't implement the Cipher class. That's understood.
    Now, my SmartCard Vendor (DataCard Aptura) doesn't implement it neither the Cipher class on it's sdk. I've asked for support and they have told me that they won't add that Class. So I can't count on them.
    So, the purpose of this post is to find out the course of action. I've just two options, either I implement the class by myself or I get it (buy it, if it's possible) somewhere else. I don't want you to do my work, I just need some light because I'm new to this cryptography over smartCard thing.
    So I've this questions which require short answer (hope so):
    1.) According to your experience, should we implement it by ourselves? Or should we look for some vendor that has already implemented it?
    2.) I that were the case (that we should implement it by our own) could you estimate the amount of time (or resources) needed, considering just one programmer.
    3.) Are there some special considerations that I should take in order to save memory. Please notice that the current version of Aptura prohibits the use of transient arrays on the card, due to a bug inside the core of the VM. It doesn?t reclaim the space after it?s been used, for instance after a reset, it won?t reclaim the all the transient space used.
    4.) If it would take a considerable amount of time to implement the Cipher class by our own, do you know some vendor that has already implemented and can save us that time?
    Any other light or aspect that you might think it's important and I've missed here, would be appreciated.
    Many Thanks in advance.
    CL

    Well no. All I want is to have cryptography on my card (that I didn't choose for the project I just received like "this is the card"). And this vendor doesn't have an implementation of the Cipher class.
    As a parenthesis () there is not Int as you properly mentioned, but I implemented by hand, unsing Zhiqun Chen proposal (on her book JavaCard Technology for SmartCards). I know that approach is not quite efficient, but it works (considering that for financial purposes a short is not enough).
    Well, back to our business. Also I'm concious that the approach of implementing the cryptography by myself would not win the efficiency award for Smart Card, but I need to do something and trying to change the card at this point (I didn't choose it, as I told you) would not be the first solution, due to the fact that the production cards are already ordered. So that's the actual situation.
    So, I'm pretty sure the problem is on the side of my vendor. Is not that I'm washing my hands on him, it's just the fact. Here you'll find my little test I'm trying to run. It crashes after the following line on the process (APDU apdu) method:
    cipher.doFinal(data, START, (short) data.length, cipherText, START);
    And here's my code:

    Aptura prohibits the use of transient arrays on the

    JCOP, Datakey, G&D Sm@rtCafe, Gem+ GemXpress RAD, and
    SLB all implement the javacard.security,
    javacard.crypto classes and the transient arrays are
    COD/COR.
