Build a dictionary with bulk records
I have 100 million records where key and value are both 64-bit integers. I need to read the records from a flat file and build a dictionary in DB format so that I can load it for random access. During building, DB runs very slow when the cache is used up (I tried both BTree and Hash). I don't need to change the records once the dictionary is built, so is there anyway to optimize for this situation? Thanks!

Hi,
Since you'll access the key/data pairs in random order I assume you haven't defined your own Btree comparison function (you don't need the keys to be in order).
When using the Hash access method you should ensure that your hash function works well; also, you should carefully set the fill factor and the hash table size:

To determine if your cache is sized properly and to get statistics on your database use the db_stat utility like this:
#db_stat -d <db_file>

Try both access methods, and post here information on how you've configured in each situation, and the output of db_stat.
Now, when you load the data, that is, reading it from the flat file and writing it to the BDB database you won't need any durability guarantees, as the process can be restarted in case of a failure, and the load will start from scratch. So, I suggest not writting the records transactionally. After you have completed loading the data you can take a backup of the database, and open the database within an environment configured with transactions and logging in place.
Nevertheless, if you need a certain degree of certainty in the face of a crash when loading the data you could configure your transactional environment with DB_TXN_NOSYNC or DB_TXN_WRITE_NOSYNC. More information on transaction tuning and throughput is here:

1. Created a Master Detail Form (Custom Layout and not tabular)
and in the master block selected only one field.
2. In the HTML layout for master removed the reference for
that field(so that nothing will appear in the master block
of the form).
3. Before the update (in the Pl/SQL event handler selected the 'Save' event and written the following code to avoid updating master block).

For eg, let's say
Master is from 'Dept' table and Detail is from 'Emp' table(with join condition Dept.dept_id = Emp.dept_id). In the master remove everything except dept_id field and in the HTML layout for master remove the reference of the dept_id field(you cannot remove this field physically from the master layout). Now the form will look like multirow form rather than master detail form but only problem with this workaround is 'Detail Action' will be present in the detail block.

Dictionary DC BUILD not working with CE 7.1 and 7.0 NWDI
Hi All,
we integrated our ce 7.1 in our existing NWDI environment. Everything works fine
except for the dictionary dc build.
The build process stops with an
Open SQL services not initialized! (java.lang.IllegalStateException: Open SQL services not initialized!)
error.

I am having the same issue as Patrizia while using BSP, SRM_DEMO_RECORD & SRM_DEMO_BSPEXT, to search/display, maybe update later the records,documents,and notes that are stored in RM. I have read all the documentation described in your messages as to how to customize web display BSP application using these 2 BSPs, srm_demo_record & srm_demo_bspext.
I tested SRM_DEMO_RECORD with <srm:element> tag embbeded in the layout page, but it lists only the records that associated to a given RMS_ID and SPS_ID, and I wasn't able to get it to display the associated document and notes for a selected RM record. The comments on the iview page in BSP suggest the custom code is needed for initial request from browser and callback event to return the notification for the activities occurred in RM. As you suggested to Patrizia, I wonder if you've some sample code that i could use to make these BSPs work before additional enhancements is needed later. As far as other prerequisit settings of http access and assigning search interface class to the correct service provider element type using GENSP_QUERY_EXT connection parameter are all properly set with my customer. So i'd feel really grateful if you could forward me the example codes for these BSPS.

I was recording a song, finished it and everything went alright. Then I wanted to start with the recording of a new song. With the SAME plug-ins and settings as in the song before. I could record it all, but then, logic started crashing! Now, Logic crashes everytime I open up the new song as soon as I press play. But when I open up the older song, everything works just fine. I can press play without any problems, do things here and there... typical Logic stuff. So, it has to do with my new project! But why? I mean, I'm using everything the same way in both projects. Literally everything!

Flex 4 Advanced DataGrid Refresh with database record changes at server end
I've visited a number of posts regarding this problem and none of the solutions presented seem to fix the issue I'm having. I'm beginning to think it is a bug with the DataManagement functions in Flex.
In my application I have followed the example presented on the Flex 4 tutorials:

I've tried with both client-side and server-side typing with the same issue.
I'm using Flex 4 with ColdFusion 9 connecting to an MSSQL 2008 database. The table I'm working with uses a GUID as the identifyer (I have also tried with unique numeric types too).
The application is running fine besides one issue. I am using the myService.commit(); control to do a bulk update to rows that have been added to the DataGrid. At the database end I am inserting values into some fields that are not determined at the client end. The database is updating fine, so the commit seems to be doing that part of the work. However, there does not seem to be any way of reflecting those new values provided at the ColdFusion CFC insert within the DataGrid. I've tried re-assigning the DataGrid to the dataProvider / different dataProvider after the commit. Refreshing the DataGrid using myDataGrid.dataProvider.refresh() seems to partly work. i.e. The Grid is refreshed with the records it held before I added any + the first row of the new inserts. The missing rows are only visible if I do not refresh at all (without their server side changes) or if I reload the entire page.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS. If I add further rows to the DataGrid and then commit a subsequent time then it refreshes with the rows that were missing on the previous commit and the first row of the latest commit.
Message was edited by: Pat MoodyMy solution when adding new values at the server end is to modify the createEmployee in the CFC to something like this. In this example I'm using modified_date as the additional field maintained at the server end. This could be any number of additional fields.
Basically it's doing an insert and then a select. Tried returning as array / Employee but couldn't get that to work so using the query object return type of "any". Using this method, no refresh is required on the DataGrid.

I would like to know is there any possibility to retrieve relationship records for bulk records with out using loop through RetrieveRelationshipsCommand.

I have 100 records from a given table. I would like to retrieve related records for all 100 records at a single shot with out loop through RetrieveRelationshipsCommand execute() method.

Hiow to build digital waveform with transition values bigger U32?
Greetings!
Is that possible to build digital data with transitions values represented bigger than U32 values? (It seems to me that Labview 8.0 cannot accept U64. See attachment.)
What do you recommend? I cannot change dt, so scaling does not work. This is because, the record length could be very long...and the waveform should be connected to a digital waveform graph.

Yes, I'd like to build a big array, which although would not be so big... I have not so many samples (just a few thousands) but the samples could be very far from each other. That's why I need U64.
I'm using compressed digital waveform to transport and display the samples, where the transition value functions as an offset (counted in dt) from the first sample.
For example, to store a 1Hz signal with sampling rate 100MHz the transitions will accumulate by 50M. If the record has 1000 samples then the last transition value will reach 50G which is much bigger than a U32 can store.
You might ask why so high the sampling rate for a 1Hz signal... The signal is stochastic, could be faster, and I would like to keep tha fast pulses also.
I dig into the "Append digital samples.vi" (see attachment) and I found the transition array is build by U32... I hope I did not misunderstand you, but I think it does not help. I suspect even the Digital Waveform Graph itself is not able to accept values over the U32 range, however, I should try that.

My macbook pro is failing to read a new sd card with movies recorded on it. Any ideas please? A previously used SD card has downloaded without problems. I have tried using a card reader as well as downloading from the video camera itself, neither works.
I can view the latest recordings on the video camera so know they are there somewhere. I am now thinking I should have formatted or initialised the new card before using it but didn't think of that at the time. After upgrading to Mountain Lion, Interface builder starts up with an error every boot.
I've got a late 2008 Macbook Unibody 13", and a few months back I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. Ever since the upgrade, at every boot up Interface Builder starts up with an error. I've just ignored it mostly, but now I'm getting annoyed with it. How can I find the programs that start up every boot to research this, or stop it from loading Interface Builder every time?
You have to delete it using the minus sign at the bottom. The check/un-check is for hiding items.

If you need to support the LENGTH SEMANTICS CHAR clause in an external table then one option is to use the unbound external table and capture the access parameters manually. To create an unbound external table you can skip the selection of a base file in the external table wizard. Then when the external table is edited you will get an Access Parameters tab where you can define the parameters. In 11gR2 the File to Oracle external table can also add this clause via an option.

Does anybody know if there is a way to build an app with flash CS5.5 that can run in older iPods?, just like with CS5?
Each IPA I build with CS5.5 cannot be installed in my iPod 8GB with iOS 4.2 and before with CS5 I could install all the IPAs there and test.
The lack of support to iPod 8GB would be limitating for the market and sales...
Is there some setting to build IPA to older iPods?

How can I build a table with the time values of a timer from a while loop

I have a question concerning building a table:
Every 100ms I read a value from a sensor (while loop with a timer). I would like to build a table with the actual time and the concerning value. For example:
0msec 1V
100msec 2V
200msec 3V
300msec 4V
etc.
If I use the Express VI for building a table, I always get the date and time, but I don't need the date and the time is in the following format: HH:MMS, which is nonsensical for me as I can't differentiate within msec. Can I change the format anywhere?
Can I also save the table to a file or even to an Excelsheet? How can I do that?

I want to drive a stepper motor with a specific frequency. To get the current degree value of the motor I would like to measure the current time (from the beginning of the move on). (With a formula I get the degree value out of the time)
Concurrently I would like to get data from a torque sensor and from a pressure sensor. That's why I asked you about the time and the table. The measurement should start with the movement of the motor. How can I do that? Right now I have different block diagrams (different while loops) (see attachment) and I would like to put them in one.
I haven't done the block diagram for the pressure sensor yet, so there is only the one for the torque sensor and the one for the motor.
I also would like to set a mark in the table when the voltage value of an analog input gets under a specific threshold value. Is that possible?
I'm sorry, I'm a novice in LabVIEW. But maybe you can help me.
