Build DC versus Build project

Hi all,
I have a Web Dynpro DC (managed by NWDI) in my developer studio.
I'm wondering what the precise difference is between building the DC and building the project. Do I ever need to build the project at all? When I want to do direct deployment from the developer studio (so not via the NWDI server), then which build should I use to create the archive?
Thanks,
Jeroen

Hi Praveen,
not quite correct, you can also trigger a DC Build locally.
The project build should update error markers in editor views, but theoretically that should happen automatically in the background. The local DC build really creates local public part archives and deploy archives. There are some differences in the deploy archives created by the DC build and a "Create archive", but they should not be relevant for debugging or testing (different info in SAP_MANIFEST mainly.)

Try creating a new Flex project and dragging the files from
    the zip into the
src folder. You may find that you need to rearrange things a
    bit, depending
on how they set up the project, but this should get you
    started.

  • DNG SDK build project cannot find the xml sdk

On win7/x64.  Installed dng sdk and all dependencies per the readme files.  xml sdk built OK with vc10 express, as 64 bit static and dll.
But the vc solution for dng_validate has incorrect names for the xml sdk build projects, so it cannot find those components.  Specifically it looks for "..\..\..\xmp_sdk\build\vc\XMPCore.vcxproj".  the actual paths in the xmp sdk are different and longer, like "..\..\..\xmp_sdk\build\vc10\dynamic\windows_x64".  Moreover there is no XMPCore.vcxproj there.
I suppose the real problem may be that the dng sdk project is trying to build it as .net managed code, while the xml sdk was built as open code.  So I guess what I am looking for is a way to build the dng sdk open.

I would confirm your post, but I have not found a solution. I wish someone at Adobe would look into this.

  • Error -17704, Build project failed in CVI

    I'm using CVI7.0 with TS3.0.
When I configure the CVI adapter to be in debug mode, the TS uses tscvirun.prj to run an additional instance of the CVI code for debugging. As soon as TS finishes to load this project I get the run-time error:
Build project failed in CVI for the project c:\....\tscvirun.prj.
Error Code: -17704; CVI ActiveX automation server command failed.
Any idea where to start looking?
p.s. This entire project was copied from another pC where I don't have this problem. I did a lot of comparing between configurations of the two pCs but found nothing.
    Thanks

Does the original tscvirun project that TestStand installs work with the example on the failing system?
To validate this you may need to repair TestStand so that the tscvirun files are refreshed and try the examples to make sure things are working properly on the system before attempting to use the files from the second system.
If you rerun the insaller, one of the available options will be to perform a repair.

  • Linking library with flash builder project?

I have a flash builder project going and I have found I need to make various movie clips and sprites in in Flash Pro. Is there a simple way to just link my library from the .fla project to my builder project so I can access the assets made in the .fla?
I'm using the latest version of both software packages.
    Thanks!
    -SGW

Open your .actionScriptProperties file and set useFlashSDK to false.  This will allow you to use your older SDKs.  They are managed in the same way as Flash Builder 4.6 when this option is changed.

  • Load Flex/Flash Builder project in Flash Professional CS5

Is there a way that I can load (or export) Flex/Flash builder project in Flash Professional CS5?
As it turns out we got Flash Prof for our team, but it may look like we actually need Flash builder to build lots of UI related stuff..

Specifically, I want to use flex chart in CS5. Is there a way to do this?

  • Bug: Menu option "Build project" is disabled

I have "Build automatically" disabled due to the poor compiling performance of FB (my project has hundreds of classes), and have instead attached a key binding to "Build project" to trigger a build manually.
Unfortunately this option is very often not available, although I have made changes in the project (and saved them).
Yet right-clicking the project, and selecting "Build project" does a build then.
Obviously there is a bug detecting when a build is required or not.

Build project is disabled if you have no project selected in the package explorer/navigator.
Unfortunately, the logic for detecting the project associated with what objecthas focus is not implemented well in Eclipse (see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=201650)
That means that if you go to Problems view or switch between editors in a certain way, Build Project gets disabled.
The short of it, it is an Eclipse bug and has been fixed for 3.6 (which is what the next version of Builder ships with).

  • Is it possible to get a count of all the class files in a Flash Builder project?

Is it possible to get a count of all the class files in a Flash Builder project?
    Thanks!

Resultsets are one per connection unless you have copied them. Do you have lots of connections are you properly reusing them or at least closing and discarding all references?
See tutorial and Javadoc of API too

  • I want to track progress on my building projects with a tick sheet

    Hi All
I want to use a ticksheet to track progress on my building projects.
I have between 10 and 15 projects running simultaniously, I would like to prepopulate the ticksheet and give the tick a value.
So when waking onto a site i would like to just tick work completed then get a % complete and be able to save/output/print etc. with a date stamp.
    example:
                                  Item value     Total value
    setting out                   =1%          1%
    digging trenches           =2%          3%
    Footing                        =5%          8%
So I will get a grand total% if all ticks are ticked will be 100% if not all ticked the unticked value will be deducted from 100%.
    Hope this makes sense.
    Thank you

You may wish to repost in iOS apps section for Numbers. Most of
what you want seems doable; I am not sure about date stamp but
it may be doable using presence/absence of tick to make date entry
    in a cell.
There are some very capable people answering questions in that
forum who should be able to provide a solution. It will probably
take some setup on your part; but after the initial work, you should be
able to touch a few cells to get the results you desire.

Yes but there's no point doing it here. As the Terms of Use make quite clear this is a User to User forum. It's Users like you talking to other Users. It's not a channel to communicate with Apple.

  • Is it possible to save versions/snapshots of Flash Builder projects?

    Hi there,
I am working on a project at the minute that I am saving incrementally (0.0.1, 0.0.2 etc) as would be expected with most projects.  Can anyone let me know if there is a way of saving a snapshot/version of a Flash Builder project so that I can revert back to a particular version should I ever need to?  I suppose I can duplicate the project so that it appears as a seperate entity in my workspace window but I was just wondering if there was a more elegant way of doing it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Setting up  a local version control system like CVS or SVN and committing your project at regular intervals will likely give you what you want.

  • Access Service Builder Project after transport

    Hello Experts,
I had created a builder project in SEGW & had also created two web services under this project. Our system refreshes every week & then transports are re-imported on need basis. My GW developments are re-imported. Though all objects are there & service is also working fine, I am not able to find my builder project in SEGW after re-import. I have checked TADIR & entry does exist here. After debugging search help at SEGW, i found out that it seraches a global buffer table if current user has accessed that project earlier.
What would be the way to get my project in SEGW after transport or re-import?
    Regards
    Gaurav K

    Thanks Krishna for your reply.
It was actually an authorization error. That's why i was not able to see my project in SEGW. Thanks

  • Compiling Flash Builder Projects with ant - error

I'm fairly new to FlashBuilder as well as using ant to build projects.
I'm working on a project in FlashBuilder 4.5. I'm using a 3rd party SWC that contains an alchemy-compiled C application in the SWC. Building my entire project within FlashBuilder is working fine. However, due to other parts of the project (not imported into FlashBuilder) I need to build with ant on occasion.
The Class specific to the C app within the SWC is throwing errors when building with ant - it says it can not find the source. I had one recommendation to look into adding/editing something within the build.xml file, but I don't know what that addition/edit would be.
    Any help appreciated.

Apparently related to switching workspaces... the error log identifies a path to an old workspace I changed out of weeks ago. I created a new workspace and moved the project (just the source, etc, not the settings) into it. been running fine for a while now... though funny how this problem didn't show up until yesterday.

  • Problema con Building Projects

    Hola amigos.

    Hola,
Hay dos maneras de corregir esto error:

  • BlazeDS locking $ProjectName-debug folder and not allowing flex builder to build project

    Hi all,
Im new to Flex. I'm trying to setup my development environment. What I've noticed is that when blazeds is started and I run a flex project, it creates a folder in the blazeds root folder named $ProjectName-debug (replace $ProjectName with the actual project name). Once this folder is created, and the flash page is accessed, it cannot be deleted until blazeds is actually stopped. The files on that folder seem to be locked. While this folder is locked, eclipse cannot seem to re-build the project (specifically clean). Thus every small change I make to the project, I'm currently having to stop blazeds, clean the flex project, start blazeds, run the flex project. What makes things worse is that I have to start our application along with blazeds so it can retrieve the data from the app (which takes a few minutes).
I'm wondering if other people are having to go through this pain or if they've figured out a way to get around this. I would ideally like to have a way where I'm able to rebuild the project and hit f5 and reload the page and see the changes. I understand this is not possible with debug.
If anyone has figured out a way to incorporate blazeds to their development environment in a more practical way, please let me know. We just switched from tapestry/gwt to flex. We used to be able to update on the go thus development was much simpler.
    Regards,
    Udam

if you see a red error in your "problems" tab inside
flexbuilder, your project most likely will not be built fully, or
correctly, in that case running that project does not makes sense
at all, you need to make sure "problems" tab is clear of errors
(you might see warnings, but they are not very harmful) .if ther is
no errors, hitting ctrl+B builds the project and choosing Project
--> Clean ... clears output folder and rebuilds the project P.S
Unless you uncheck checkbox that says "automatically build project
    after clean".
IMHO, turn off Auto Build and manualy build the project that
will take care of most issues, plus use (project --> clean) when
you need to make sure you have latest build .
    Kind Regards
    Levan.
