Build Dynamic message footer in Exchange 2007

Hello,
Is there a way to modify all outgoing messages from Exchange server 2007 to include an Unsubscribe link that would have the outgoing message's subject and sender in the body?
Here's what I had in mind...
<a
href="mailto:yourlist@yourdomain?subject=Unsubscribe&body='Original Sender was ' + %%Sender%% ' and Subject was ' + %%Subject%%">Unsubscribe Me</a>
Lukasz

Hi Joe,
We are also finding the same issue with getting that EXCDO error. The problem stemmed when users noticed some previously accepted appointments disappeared (As I suspect you discovered with your users).
The workaround has been to get the user to accept the appointment again by going into deleted items, this seems to add the appointment as it should have the first time.
We have done the following but it didn't fix the problem:
Disabled extra SEP features on the clients - No Change
Disabled non-essential Outlook add-ons - No Change
Removed BES Express and CDO MAPI From Exchange server - No Change
Disabled MS Defender on Exchange - No Change
Fixed any Public folder errors - No Change
Disable Window services WSS and UNC sharing feature in Active Sync - No Change
Also ensured Autoupdate and auto process was enabled for affected users - No Change
I'm going to try the reg change mentioned in this thread but other than the built in MS Defender we don't have anti-virus on our mail server.
At first we thought it was Active Sync as it only seem to impact those with a A/S device, but now it's intermittent for other users using Outlook.  We are currently using Exchange 2007 SP3 with RU13. We are looking at trying an update
to RU14 but I am doubtful it will fix the problem. Did you have any luck finding a solution?
Thank you in Advance.

  • Routing email from exchange 2007 to 2010 .

    Although this is an
hypothetical question but still would be a great help if anyone could answer this :  " How email routing takes place from exchange 2007 user
to exchange 2010 user. I have exchange 2007 and 2010 ,provided i am using single forest with same domain name in both 2007 & 2010 environment "

    Hi,
Firstly,I'd like to explain, message routing from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010 is message delivery between responsed Hub Transport servers:
When a Hub Transport server queries Active Directory to determine the Mailbox server hosting the destination mailbox, it also retrieves the version of the Mailbox server. If the Mailbox server is an Exchange 2007 server that's in the same site as the Hub Transport
server, the Hub Transport server will relay the message to an Exchange 2007 Hub Transport server in the same Active Directory site.
For more information about the emails routing process, you can refer to the following articles:

  • Changing/Replacing Exchange 2007 MBX VM

    Hello folks,
I'm currently having Exchange 2007 Mailbox Role
in separate VM and HUB/CAS on separate VM. The current Mailbox VM having
problem and seems the VMX file of the VM got corrupted and Backup on
Veeam and Symantec taking hell of time to finish and even the mailbox
server itself very slow. There is a tedious workaround to rectify this
    issue, and seems to me the old the solution would be;
    Build new VM.
    Install Exchange 2007 Enterprise
Assign new Disks and create new DBs.
    Move mailboxes
What precaution i should take care of during this process?
    The
current Exchange 2007 Role has almost 2500 Mailboxes and the size range
between 100MB to 5GB and all the mailboxes are on different databases
almost 20 DBs are hosting those mailboxes. All the DBs are defined on
separate VMDK disks and all the Logs of those DBs are on different VMDK
    disk.
What I'm planning to do is to combine multiple Databases
into single Disks to reduce the number of disks that's hosting the DBs.
What is the best approach to achieve this?

Outlook 14.4.8 on iMAC Retina and Yosemite 10.10.2 is not synchronizing with Exchange 2007 anymore (shows "downloading" but no new messages shown in inbox".
Accessing Mails with Webbrowser and from Windows Outlook is working correctly.
All Macs (also the ones with OS 10.6.8) do not anymore show any new messages in inbox.
Restarted Server, tried to disable autodiscover on macs and deleting/adding account and repairing database does not fix the problem. Also restarted server several times.
We have the same problem on 2 imacs retina with yosemite and on 2 mac pro with 10.6.8 and different office 2011 versions.
i tried to configure the exchange account in apple mail on yosemite and it also states "connected" and does list some folders but no new mails are getting in.
Windows clients and outlook on them works and syncs fine, and also when connecting via webbrowser at owa it must be a mac-specific/webdav issue.

there is one update popping up again and again even after everytime successull installation: Windows Mlicious Software Removal Tool x64 - October 2010.
i tried to configure a new user with empty mailbox and configured it with microsoft mail (mac - yosemite)  as exchange and was able to send a mail from there (even if quite delayed).
but there are not coming in any mails.
same exchange accounts triggered by imap do work and also via owa.
Exchange Accounts in Outlook for MAC and also in Mail (Yosemite) do show the folder structures but there is no mails showing up. I can send mails from the exchange accounts created but they seem to be processed with a delay of like 15minutes and outlook
is giving error "end of file reached" but messages are send after some time.
Does seem like EWS is extremely slow, to slow perhaps to sync and therefore ending in timeout.
Also i cannot reach the server from externally over ssl https 443. if testing port 443 of exchange from outside the port seems closed even firewall settings of sbs 2008 and sonicwall ports are correctly open.
could it be there is something in regarding webdav which is very slow and leading to timeouts ?

On the exchange server, the language of mailbox of user1 is set to Bulgarian with powershell command

    Accept-Language: bg-BG, en-US
    Content-Language: bg-BG
The recepient uses some Blackberry smartphone.
The problem comes with cyrrilic text in the message:
If the messaqge is sent using OWA, the recepient can visualize and read cyrillic text.
But if the message is sent from Outlook, the recepient see symbols "????...?" instead cyrillic text
Is there a way when use Outlook the message header to be

This problem with incorrect cyrrilic text can be observed only on this Blackberry smartphone. There are not any problems if recepient uses computer with correct regional settings and various mail clients

  • Why is exchange 2007 account not displaying all messages in a folder?

    Hi,
I've got my emails setup under hosted exchange 2007.
The email account loaded into iphone 3gs AOK, but when I go to folders other than the inbox it doesn't show messages that I know are there. Usually it displays the folder as being empty.
Refreshing it makes it think for a few seconds and then again come back empty.
I couldn't see any settings that were to do with age of message. Have I missed something?
    Tia,Far

There are settings on the age of messages. Also, by default, folders other than Inbox are not synced unless you open them; then you must wait for them to sync. You can go to Settings for the account and select other folders to sync.

  • Outlook 2013 and Exchange 2007 not always syncing read status of a message

Out users are experiencing this issue from time to time. Outlook 2013 is using Exchange mailbox as default storage (Exchange 2007 SP3). Sometimes it shows that Inbox has one or few unread messages (Inbox name is bolded and there is a number near it). But
a user can't find any unread messages in the inbox. If he logs to his mailbox via OWA, then he can find those unread messages. But they are marked as read in the Outlook. So it seems Outlook 2013 has issues syncing with Exchange 2007 as we have never experienced
such issues when using Outlook 2007 with the same server.
Any hints on how to make this thing go away, other than instructing users to log via OWA and mark unread messages as read?

    Hi,
Switch to Exchange Online Mode, does the issue persist?
It seems to be a sync issue between Outlook and Exchange, make sure the Internet connection is good. Let me know if the issue persist after clicking
    Send/Receive All Folders button.

  • BlackBerry/iPad2/Exchange 2007/Outlook - Read Messages

We have a user who recently acquired an iPad and he is syncing it with our Exchange 2007 via EAS. Prior to this, he had only a BlackBerry syncing with BES to our exchange server.
He has noticed in very close proximity to syncing his iPad with our mail system, that messages are showing read in his outlook client and BlackBerry and he didn't open them.
His assistant, who has delegate access to his mailbox, knows she is not opening them (and has had access for years prior without accessing/opening).
Does anyone know of a "auto open" kind of view or feature on iPad that may be opening messages and, hence, setting them to unread?
Now swearing that the iPad is the culprit, just the most likely suspect and figured someone may know.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance.

I recommend that you not use any internal names as the internal or external URLs for any virtual directories, Outlook Anywhere or Autodiscover settings.  That way you can keep your certificate simple.
I don't know that solves your original problem, though.
Is there anything doing HTTPS inspection or SSL offloading between the Internet and your Exchange CAS?

  • Does Exchange 2007 support dynamic disk

We have Exchange 2007 SP3 installed on Windows 2008 Std edition.  it is a virtual machine.
We have disk space issue on couple of drives. We are planning to expand the disk.
All the disk are in BASIC mode. I want to know does Exxhange 2007 support Dynamic disk and does it allows to convert BASIC disk to dynamic disk and extend the drive. Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Srinivas

Yes, it is supported to have mailbox database on Dynamic Disk (except it is single copy cluster)
    Partition Design - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb738145(v=EXCHG.80).aspx
However I won't convert the disk from basic to dynamic while database is on the drive. Suggest you to dismount the DB, move it to a temp location, convert the disk, move the database back and mount the DBs...

  • Moving messages to mailboxes on multiple computers under Exchange 2007

My work email was recently switched to Exchange 2007, which behaves like IMAP. However, since space is limited on the server, I need to move messages from my Inbox and save them "on my Mac", and some of these messages are moved automatically using Rules that I have set up.
Now, I have two computers with the same Rules. The problem is that when I open my mail on one computer, rules are applied and the messages are moved from my Inbox, but then, on my second computer, these messages are nowhere to be found since they were removed from the Inbox.
The only Mailboxes that are synced through Exchange are the Inbox, Sent, Drafts, and Trash. All my other mailboxes are on my Mac (on both computers, same mailboxes).
How can I move messages from the Inbox to archive them on my Mac on one computer and still have access to these emails on the other computer? As soon as I move a message from the Inbox, it disappears on my other computer before I have a chance to apply the same move. The result is that depending where I open my email, some messages are stored on one machine or the other, but not both. Is the only solution to copy messages instead of moving them? I will then end up with many duplicates eventually, and it will be hard to know which has already been copied from my Inbox and which has not.
Am I missing an easier solution? It used to work well when my email was a POP account, and other IMAP emails (Gmail) are OK because I can store all my mailboxes on the server. But in the case of my work email, because of space constraint, I cannot store all my messages (>30,000) in Exchange mailboxes.
    Thank you for your help.

    You’re welcome.
Unfortunately, I don’t know what happened here and I’m afraid you may have lost those messages. If the messages have disappeared in Mail, they are not on the server, and you don’t have a backup, your only option is probably to try to salvage as many deleted *.emlx files as possible with a data recovery tool such as Data Rescue II, TechTool Pro, or FileSalvage. Of these, the only one I know for sure that can currently recover deleted *.emlx files is FileSalvage. Stop using your computer right now if you want to try that, as anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted files to be overwritten.
You should also verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described in the following article, in case there is something amiss in the filesystem that has a bearing on this:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
When done, report the names of the files and folders present at the first level of the ~/Library/Mail/Mac-username/ account folder.
In order to post the exact file names and avoid typing mistakes, proceed as follows. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/Mac-username/. With that folder open, if you’re looking at it in View > as List mode, first collapse any expanded folders so that the Finder only shows the files and folders at the first level. Now, do Edit > Select All (⌘A), then Edit > Copy (⌘C), and paste it in your reply to this post -- you may disguise any mailbox names you wish to keep private.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

  • Exchange 2007 - Selecting New Message Pulls Up One Months Old

I'm using a fully patched copy of Leopard connected to a fully patched copy of Exchange 2007 via OS X's Mail app. For the second time in a week or two I've received a new message in my inbox. However, when I double click it, what gets opened is some other message that's months old. If I go over to my Windows machine and look at my Exchange Inbox via Outlook the message pulls up as I'd expect. So, there seems to be some index corruption inside OS X Mail. Any ideas?

No problem Just checking. You can go to settings > icloud > backup and storage > manage storage > click on the backup you no longer need and choose delete backup.  If you delete this backup, your current iCloud storage will not be deleted.

  • Exchange 2007 Export-Mailbox Error Message on only certain mailbox

I have searched high and low for a solution to this, but no such luck. Hopefully someone has had the same issue and can help me out.
I am attempting to export and then remove a date range for mailboxes before I migrate to an Exchange 07 server. The mailboxes range in the 10 GB range. I am attempting to use the Exchange 2007 cmdlet to do this with due to it does not have a 2 GB limit like the Exmerge of past.
The command I am using is as follows:
[PS] C:\>Export-Mailbox -Identity User -StartDate "01/01/07" -EndDate "01/30/08"
    -IncludeFolders "\Inbox","\Sent Items" -PSTFolderPath c:\PST\pst.pst
This command works fine on some of the mailboxes in the Exchange03 system. But on some of the mailboxes I am getting the following error.
Error occurred in the step: Moving messages. Failed to copy messages to t
he destination mailbox store with error:
MAPI or an unspecified service provider.
ID no: 00000000-0000-00000000, error code: -1056749164
    Any ideas?

    Hello Joe Rod (and others)
Thought I'd bring this over as a cross post because no-one seems to be picking it up in the 'admin' section. I believe I'm having a similar issue to yourself, as detailed below:
    Hi all,
I've already posted this same question elsewhere, but if anyone here can resolve the issue or suggest a better way (without using archiving software - yet!), I'd be most grateful. I'd even be happy if someone can replicate the problem so I know I'm not going mad... I'm trying to set up a quick & dirty quarter year pst mail archive for one of our users on our Exchange 2007 (SP1) box. Using the command:
    export-mailbox -id userA -pstfolderpath \\testpath\test.pst -enddate "01/03/2007"
I come up against this error:
Error occurred in the step: Moving messages. Failed to copy messages to the destination mailbox store with error: MAPI or an unspecified service provider. ID no: 00000000-0000-00000000, error code: -1056749164
Which I understand is a fairly standard permissions error. Problem is that I know the permissions are set correctly, having tested the function by removing the -enddate parameter; and getting a successful export.
I worked out after a while that the command seems to fall over when it hits a subfolder, so I tested this by using the -includefolders parameter. The command:
    export-mailbox -id userA -pstfolderpath \\testpath\test.pst -includefolders '\inbox' -enddate "01/03/2007"
will fail if there are any subfolders under '\inbox'. Add the names of the subfolders:
    export-mailbox -id userA -pstfolderpath \\testpath\test.pst -includefolders '\inbox\subfolder1' -enddate "01/03/2007"
and as long as those subfolders don't have any subfolders, I will get a successful export.
    Any help appreciated.
    Cheers
    Dan
If anyone is able to replicate this, please let me know, I'd love to get this sorted. If it is a known problem - can I use someone's PSS contact please?!

  • Mail (Lion) & Exchange 2007, periodically stops receiving messages, does no hang

As the title says, we are having this issue.  I saw another post last year about Exchange 2010 hanging, and an old certificate caused the issue.  Our network admin is looking into that.
We are not experiencing any hangs.  Mail "works" fine.  We have multiple accounts setup (all Exchange) and 2 of the 3 are sending and receiving fine.  The last mailbox, the actual use account, will stop receiving.  There are no errors or indicators.  Typically someone will call and ask why she isn't responding.  She closes Mail and reopens and the emails come in.  Sometimes it's once a day, sometimes more.  I've removed the Exchange account and added it back in and it helped, but didn't resolve the issue.
    Any thoughts?

After having the same error ("opening mailbox - Requesting latest information" - hang) and fighting for months on my Mac (Lion) to solve it, including writing angry bug reports to Apple - I think I finally found the source of the problem:
There was an old (invalid) certificate installed in Exchange (2007, in my case), enabled for SMTP.
Nobody seems to care about this - including Snow Leopard Mail, Outlook and all iOS devices - but Lion Mail cared, and just stuck. Typically after some time - maybe sleep/wake or just a couple of hours - Mail was stuck and did not receive any new mails anymore, until I Force Quit it.
I got the hint from another forum (somebody suggested changing the properties in the locally installed certificates in Lion - but this was not the solution) and after seeing the question popping up once in Mail Preferences (do you want to trust this (old) certificate).
After removing the old certificate from Exchange (good luck with this admin user interface - no wonder we did not notice it) - everything works ok for me, already a day without any hangs.
Hope it helps! (Let us know the outcome...)

  • Unable to insert hyperlinks in Exchange 2007 OWA messages

Hi, we have recently moved to Exchange 2007 OWA and users are unable to insert links to shared files on the network.  I was wondering if there might be something in our Windows 7 GPO that is preventing this from happening?

do you mean they cannot see the network path or that they are not able to type

If first one, please check Outlook Web app policy and enable/customize Direct file Access.
