Build in effects only show part of objects

When I click to see an object (in the play mode) I cannot see most of it, only a small piece of it on the right hand side. If it matters, the problematic objects are right-to-left text objects. Is it a bug, or just my ignorance? Any fixes?

Try removing the binding and add the following in the calculate event, not sure which one has the 9 characters and which the 4.
But for the 9 characters;
$data.resolveNode('PrintContent.sfcPrintingData.sfc').value.substr(0,9)
and for the 4 characters
$data.resolveNode('PrintContent.sfcPrintingData.sfc').value.substr(-4)

My program monitor only shows part of a clip during playback, though output to an external monitor is fine. If I stop playback and click in the monitor window, the clip is displayed correctly, but reverts back to partial when playing back.
This started happening today after installing Matrox tools update to 5.1 and latest matrox effect patterns. Everything else is perfect inc source monitor.
Have tried may settings changes, new projects old projects, new clips etc etc but its the same every time. Any ideas what has gone wrong? Its been running perfect for last 4 years. Is it worth reinstalling CS5 and would I have to reinstall Matrox also?
Windows 7 system 64 bit; 2 x 2,66 quad xeon processors; 4Gb ram;

I have indicated on the attached jpeg where the problem is, basically a line of text is missing at the top and part of the feeding diagram is missing. I created the artwork in different layer and then flattened. All text has been converted to outlines, however the areas being affected have no transparency, I have used solid fills or no fills. I get the same result when I export the file as a jpeg. Hope you can help.

It seems to happen randomly and I have checked the preferences and tried using different settings for the Display Performance. I've even tried viewing the job with Overprint Preview switched on.
When placing images only a part of the image shows. When I output to PDF or Print the file then the entire image shows. This makes it very hard to do layouts, especially in cases where I need to crop an image.
In InDesign it looks like this:

If I understand things correctly, you're placing client-supplied images into a new InDesign file that you're creating, so the only part of the workflow that you haven't created is the graphics. This logically leaves the container file innocent.
The question becomes "what's up with either the hardware or the graphics?" If the problem persists with the same graphic files and a new container file on a different user account on the same computer, it's possible that hardware is the villain. If it doesn't persist on a different computer, it's likely the hardware. If it does persist on a different computer, in a new container file, it's likely something in the graphics files.
It's not clear if the graphics card in your iMac is one of the models whose video RAM is "dedicated," that is, it doesn't share video RAM with the main RAM, or if it does share VRAM. If it shares RAM, it's possible that 4GB isn't sufficient to display all the open applications and their demands. If this is the cause, it's a hardware issue (insufficient RAM.)
Because the graphics print and convert to PDF without the problem, it would seem that the graphics are innocent, but perhaps something in the processing of these outputs causes the problem to disappear. For example, perhaps there's some flattening involved. Perhaps there's a clipping path or channel mask of some kind involved that affects the InDesign display? (Just fishing.)
Have you tried opening the graphics in their creating application and saving them to new names? Any difference in the behavior when those graphics are freshly-placed in InDesign, or when their links are updated?
Have you tried placing PDFs of the graphics? If they appear properly, can you crop them to achieve your requirements and hope the problem goes away after the deadline passes<G>?

When i use pogo, on the risk game for instance, when i click on a game room, a window pops up and immdediately reduces in size, this size only shows part of the battle screen; i have tried resetting the zoom feature, no luck.

i have seen this before on my home PC (on a lap top now) it is impossible for me to correct so i have to use IE to play pogo (i dont like IE it is slower) i click on a game, i go to a game room, and a window normally pops up showing the tables. normally i click on a seat and it takes me to a new window and the game board. NOW, when this first window pops up, it is aboout 1/4 size of my screen, but immediately reduces in size to about 1/6 of my screen. wnen the game loads, i cannot view the whole screen only part of the screen, as if it is zoomed in. I tried your suggestion and reset the zoom, no help.... i changed the zoom level manally.... no help.
this also happens in scrabble and most other games. it is related to the java i am sure, but it only happens on firefox. How do i correct this. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled firefox. i have had this happen on the older version of firefox. it happens on multiple computers so it isnt just one computer.

I should have explained further. The game opens in a new window over to the upper left of my screen, leaving the original page underneath. I tried minimizing it so that I could get to my toolbar and did the View > Zoom > Reset. This has no effect. The lower portion of the game is still not showing. Using other browsers the window or frame of the game is much larger, therefore everything shows.

Why is Firefox only showing part of my Gmail login menu?

I log into my Gmail using a nav button on FIrefox entitled 'Google Mail - Inbox'. Whether it appeared there automatically or I put it there, it has worked fine. Today, it doesn't, I instead get an odd Google menu which shows only the text of (what I assume is) my Google account. Can one attach a file with a screenshot here, can't see any attachment facility? They say it may be caused by a broken or slow browser connection, but then Google do tend to clutch at straws. I need to work out whether the problem is Google, Firefox or both.

How can I make a picture fit entirely in the photo box in a book. The picture size is small, but the it only shows part of the picture, and the zoom is all the way down.

I am trying to make a Photo Book using IPhoto for my granddaughter's wedding. I am using 6 pictures per page, as I have many pictures to add to book.
The picture size is small. But when I zoom is all the way down to the end to make smaller. Doesn't go far enough. When I try to put a picture in the square spot, it cuts off part of the picture. Has anyone else had this problem, and could help me out. I really would like to put on each page even more pictures, but that is not an option with IPhoto. I have used other sites to make books. This is my first try with IPhoto. I may have to revert to the old familiar ones. Wanted to give this one a try. My granddaughter leaves for Germany on the 21st to join her marine husband. I am quickly running out of time. (The wedding was this past Saturday)

Itunes only shows part of my content in home sharing

My Apple tv 2 wont sync with my iTunes library through Home Sharing. It used to work fine and I have no idea what triggered it to stop syncing.

If you've changed countries or if the music is no longer in your country's store then you won't be able to redownload it from the Purchased tab in the iTunes Store app on your new phone. Do you have access to any computer that has iTunes on it so that you can log into your iTunes account and check to see if any of your music purchases are hidden, and if they are unhide them ?
Or can you get your computer fixed - if the music is no longer in the store and the 4s is the only place that you have it then you will need to copy it to a computer's iTunes library and sync it to your new phone.

I have an image that is basically a bunch of blue dots. On a keyframe, I want to change the left side of the image to red dots. How can I do this?

Here's another way:
Apply the effect to an adjustment layer, and create a mask on the adjustment layer to define the area that the effect should affect.

Effects only works on first page when viewed in IE 8

I use the drop shadow and bevel effects on all of my sites, and I've found that when I view my site pages in Internet Explorer 8, the effects only shows up on the first page. I set up all effects on the MASTER page, so they should appear on all of my site pages. Now, when I view the site pages in FireFox or Chrome, ALL pages look great! The drop shadow and bevel effects appear on all site pages as expected.
Also, because MUSE doesn't allow me to upload to SFTP, I have to export everything to HTML, then I use Adobe Dreamweaver to upload to SFTP server. When I export a page, the preview that pops up in Internet Explorer actually looks perfect. Is this a MUSE bug? The first page looks fine in IE8, but all of the additional site pages have NO effects at all. Again - all effects are created on the MASTER page which is applied to all site pages, and ALL pages look perfect in other browsers. I only have this problem in IE8 - with compatibility mode on and off - doesn't seem to matter.

UPDATE! I discovered that the problem with the shadow effect not working on every page of a multi page site when viewed in Internet Explorer 8 has something to do with the layers tool. I was able to correct the problem, but it took a lot of time. Here are the steps I performed:
Created a duplicate of the existing MASTER PAGE, opened the duplicate master page, then pressed Ctrl-A to select all and assigned to LEVEL 4 (selected highest level).
Changed the master page of each site page to the duplicate page
Opened up each site page, pressed Ctrl-A to select everything on the page and assigned to LEVEL 1. One field was hidden below a field on the master page, so I selected that field and assigned it to LEVEL 4.
At this point, I saved and exported the site to HTML and pushed to my SFTP server - there was no change - the error still existed.
Went back to Muse and opened each of the site pages, selected all of the LEVEL 1 fields and reassigned to LEVEL 2.
Made sure all of the LEVEL 2 fields were still selected and then REASSIGNED them back to LEVEL 1 and saved the site.
Exported the site to HTML and the pushed to my SFTP server using Adobe Dreamweaver, and this time the shading worked perfectly!
I opened the site up again in Chrome and FireFox - no change. The shading appeared just fine when using Chrome or Firefox. I only experienced this problem with Internet Explorer 8. Seems to me that there is a bug in the system involving the levels tool and Internet Explorer 8. I can send you the before and after files if you would like to check out the differences. Just let me know. The site I uploaded to the temporary business catalyst site is not the site I corrected, so I will have to send you the .muse file I worked with. Just let me know.

The "Audio Visualization 2D and 3D canvas " part of the audio api slide show is only showing the background part of the 3d image

There seams to be a problem with the Audio Data API slide show on the 10th page (Audio Visualization 2D and 3D <canvas> at http://videos.mozilla.org/serv/blizzard/audio-slideshow/#slide10). or maybe just on my computer. the problem is it only shows the background of the canvas. It still looks like its a moving image but it doesn't show the objects. So haw do i fix this?

Works for me with the current nightly build.
Do the other slides work?
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Filter "Other users" to only show schems that have objects

I searched thru the forum, but didn't see this request anywhere. It would be nice to have a preference to only display "Other Users" who actually own objects in their schema.
In TOAD, there's a preference like this under Schema Browser->Data. Their preferences are:
* Show all users
* Only show users that own objects
* Only show users that own objects excluding Synonyms
* Only show users that own objects excluding Synonyms and Temporary Tables
This would be really useful for me, as our database has a ton of users that have no objects. :-)

It is great to have this feature, but at our site it is VERY slow - so much so that I thought that SQL Developer had hung.
I assume that when this option is selected, the query is doing something like select distinct owner from all_objects and when the option is not selected it is querying user_name from all_users?
It takes only about a second to display our list of appoximately 1800 users (unsorted at the moment :( ) and it took 95 seconds to filter that list to the 235 users that have visible objects (we have ~ 240000 records in all_objects).
On another point, selecting this option effectively removes an already saved filtered user if it doesn't have any available objects. This seems to include checking against schemas with availble objects when expanding the "Other Users" node, which now takes significantly longer than when this option is not set - taking 60 seconds to expand the node which is filtered to just eight schemas out of the 235 with available objects.
Going back to the Other Users Filter to switch off this option appears to simply hang SQL Developer for the ~ 90 seconds that it takes to query the list of schemas with available objects.
I don't know whether it is possible to do something about this sort of performance, but with the performance I am getting at the moment, I won't be using this functionality.
