Build in lenovo camera

2 problems with lenovo camera:
1- using the camera program of lenovo EASY CAPTURE- when i change camera to lower  resolution -it is not fixed and goes back to max. resolution. WHY? how to FIX it?
2- the camera is not recognized at  control panel->scanners & camera, WHY? (though a driver is recognized in device menager as lenovo easycamera by microsoft provider)
3-what's EASY CAPTURE app. VS. easycamera driver???
Lenovo G530 4446-24G
had vista and now win7 32bit

Hello amir_s,
Thanks for your PM.
In regards to your question, i would think you downloaded the wrong driver that caused it not appear in the control panel. However, it is just my assumption. For 4446 machine type, i would advise users to download it from here (Bison/Chicony Camera Drive) instead of this consumer support page. It is because the latter one is more general while the earlier one is specifically for machine type 4446. Try this driver and i hope your 1st and 2nd questions can be resolved.
Easy Capture app and EasyCamera driver are of course different. The app does not have driver as it is only an utility tool for you to easily capture an image or video. The driver is the necessary files to enable your camera to work properly. However, I advise you to download the Bison/Chicony Camera Driver that i suggested to you earlier. You may use any tool such as EasyCapture to snap picture as long as you have installed the right driver.
Does this help?
Cheers,
Cleo

  • Thinkpad T61 - Embedded Web Camera, Lenovo Camera Center issues

Hello, Recently purchased a T61 with the embedded web cam.  The notebook comes with "Lenovo Camera Center" software (which is more like a portal for camera-related software) but there is no useful software that enables me to actually use the camera - for example, to record clips or take a snapshot with it.  Nor can I figure out where to get such software.  I signed up for Skype and the camera works fine in that context.  But other than that, I am at a loss.  Why did this T61 not come with some basic software to use the camera?  Or is this an issue with Vista?
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Then it should be possible. I was of the opinion that the cable already has the camera connector. Best to do is opening the bezel and taking a look. If I remember correctly it was placed left from the Thinklight.
You will need then a camera, a bracket and the small cover. You get this all in Ebay and alikes.
Take a look at the HMM for more details. Start with page 111 from the document (not from your pdf reader) => click me!

  • Can i get a iPhone build without a camera

I work in a place where i can have a cell phone but it can not have a camera build it. I know that other brand phones come with options to have special build without a camera. Can the iPhone be build special order to not have a camera???

Docal97 its not that he don't wanna use the camera as if he didn't he could just not use the camera. Some jobs such alot of government jobs have Classified/Top Secret stuff they don't want you to take pictures of.. So no camera's allowed...
But instead of paying $99 to have a company take out the camera and therefore Voiding your phones warranty or scratching the camera lens therefore making the camera useless and/or voiding your warranty why not just do this simple alternative.
Buy a iPhone and use when not at work. Then buy a cheap second phone without a camera to use when at work then just swap SIM Card between phones.

  • Trying to find Lenovo Camera Center software

    Hey folks!
I am setting up a new XP image for my company. I installed a pretty vanilla Windows XP with SP3 and such, but now I am looking for the Lenovo Camera Center software. I have already installed the driver itself, but all I can find online related to the actual Camera Center program is complaints. Personally, I haven't had any issue with the software and the camera seems to work fine on these T500's. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don't realy feel comfortable downloading it from a source outside of Lenovo, but I can if I have to other choice.

On original install, try to look for it under C:\SWTools or in C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Camera Center.

  • T530 Lenovo Integrated Camera not working, Lenovo Camera Settings does not Display

Hello, I have a new T530 with Windows 8 OS. I am having trouble using the integrated camera. It functions neither in the Windows camera app nor in Skype. In both cases I get a picture with a gray background and a camera with a line through it. In Device manager, the camera does appear, is enabled, and the drivers are up to date.
After looking through other threads, I tried checking whether the camera was plugged in and indeed it was. When using Skype and I set the camera to on (Skype did detect the camera), I still got the gray no camera image, but the green light on the camera itself turned on.
I also tried using Fn+F6 to check settings. Lenovo settings opens, but the when I click the camera settings Icon, the screen loads a blank page that says "Camera" in the top right and has a back button (left pointing arrow) in the top left hand corner. The back button does not seem to work and I must change the window to something else in order to exit/close settings.
I tried manually installing both camera drivers and "power management" ("energy management"?) drivers. Neither of this solved either of these issues.
Please help me to resolve this problem. Thank you.

    Hi, euterpenc
I would make sure that the BIOS is up to date in the system. The current BIOS for your system is 2.07 and can be found here. Also, I would ensure that the chipset drivers are up to date, and those can be found here.
Hope it helps, and let me know how it goes
    Adam

  • Can I use a PCI-1424 with a non-standard camera and build my own camera file?

I want to test a certain CCD which in non-standard and I want to setup the direct interface with it. My idea is to use a 1424 board and build the camera file.

Technically, you can build your own cable and ICD (configuration) file for your camera. It can be very difficult, though. If the CCD is fairly standard, NI might be willing to create a basic ICD file for you which you can modify to do what you want. The best way to figure out what can be done in an ICD file is to look at ICD files for other cameras.

  • Ios 5.1 build 9b176 broke camera icon

I just upgraded to 5.1 build 9B176 apparently released today.   It broke my camera icon on the "slide to unlock" screen.   While the icon appears all the time (instead of as before where I had to double press the home button) if I tap the icon the screen bounces for a second but no camera.  What's up with that?  After entering my passcode I can launch the camera from the app just not on the unlock screen.
    .... Gary

After searching around I found this thread. I too couldn't get the "button" to work. There are a lot of words I'd like to use right now, but they would probably get my repsonse deleted from this thread. For the most part Apple applications are reasonably intuative, but not this time. They changed the way an existing function works without any mention of it. The release notes for 5.1 mention that the camera icon is now always on the unlock screen. That was good. It is a nice change. But why the heck couldn't they have also included the sentence "To use the new camera icon slide it upwards."? Grrrrrr!
I hadn't even noticed the small lines above the icon. I gues that comes from being over 50 and not having my readers on while trying to use my iPhone.
Change happens, and frequently the end result is better. But if you change how an exitsting function works without letting your users know, they will be frustrated.

  • My lenovo came with a counterfeit version of windows

Seriously, what the heck is this?  Did lenovo really give me a counterfeit version of windows?  Just today i got a notification saying that I may have a version of windows that isn't genuine, so microsoft ran some tests and sure enough: it isn't genuine.  I leave for college in a week and a half and I've got microsoft office, all my itunes songs imported (which took about a days worth of downloading, all my games installed and running, and everything I need to be ready for college and now his bomb drops on me?
Why did Lenovo give me a computer with a counterfeit copy of windows 7 64-bit? Is there any way to fix this without A) Buying a new version and B) deleting all my files that I need?
    Solved!

Maybe your Windows isn't activated. Call Microsoft and activate it using the phone system.

  • Lenovo s860 1Gb RAM not recognized by the computer, camera and gallery problem

Hi,yesterday i received a shipment of 2 phones s860. Both are installed VibeUi .20 same version. No problems with 1 of them, but other... 1.Camera can't save image. When thry to get picture, camera app close, same problem with another camera app. and after clear cashe and data on lenovo camera and gallery app, and after full wipe and full clear data with lenowo recovery menu2.tried to send video to reproduce because of the factory clip gives an error - damaged file. The received file can also not be reproduced, damaged file. When try to play with another player(km,mx) no problem, when send picture to phone with shareit - no problem3. when i turn the phone to a computer, he did not recognize, did not indicate the inclusion of a device (tried 3 different computers-no sound on computer,no device manager device-nothing) But the phone is charging, do not ask me what kind of connection I want (only charging or transfer MTP ...nothing) The animations are quite delayed .When entering in recovery menu screen is displayed bands as a problem at the video chip(It may be normal traits do not appear in other use)I have not yet tried 3G/2G slotsperhaps the software is installed by mistake and nobody has tested before sending phone to me. The problem is that I can not connect to the computer to try to reinstall again, not only reset

Its upgradable so that if you choose the 64 bit version of Windows you can do so
and take full advantage of the 4 GB. If your notebook had come pre-installed with
64 bit OS then it would have likely came with the 4 GB already and cost a bit more.
The manufacturers should be a little more clear to people who dont understand
the differences. Your machiine came with 3 GB because they, HP, knew that the 32
bit version of Windows installed would only use and see that amount.
You can leave the 4 GB in. It wont hurt a thing. If you decide to switch to the 64
bit version you will have to start from scratch on the installation. Not recommended
if your not familiar with the process.

  • What to re-install from Lenovo on a Windows 7 64-bit system

    Hi,
As we already have volume licences for Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit systems, I made a clean install on my new ThinkPad X201,  Type: 3323, Model: 8TG. Now, apart from the rescue image in the special partition that was there when the computer arrived, I would like to have all other "Lenovo features" that were pre-installed with the factory installation that came with the computer.
I have downloaded and installet the ThinkVantage toolbox and ThinkVantage System Update. It seems that Access Connections also is installed and the Power Manager.
However I have also downloaded and installed the Fingerprint Software for Windows 7, 64-bit, but I am not sure where to find it!!!
What else would you recommend that I download and install to make it work like the pre-installed x201 version from Lenovo?
Also I would like to know if I should use Windows 7's system image builder or Lenovo's own version?
And what about the migration tool from Lenovo? Is it better in anyway than Easy File Transfer that came with Windows 7??
    Thanks!

  • X220 integrated camera Windows 8.1 not showing up

    Hello,
Im using X220 with Windows 8.1 Pro.
Under Fn + F6 i have TouchPad, Wireless, Battery, Audio
    I installed:
    - Lenovo Power Management Driver 1.67.04.05
    - Lenovo Settings Dependency Package 2.2.0.28
    - Lenovo Solution Center 2.4.003.000
    - Lenovo System Update 5.06.0016
    - On Screen Display 6.71.00
    - Ricoh_media_driver_v2.22.18.01
    - ThinkPad UltraNav Driver 16.2.19.14
    - ThinkVantage Active Protection System 1.79.00.03
    And from Microsoft Store:
    - Lenovo Settings - which run when i hit fn+f6
Non of driver updater find the built-in camera, same with Deviace Manager.
Lenovo System Update dont download any camera related software.
I understand that somekind of driver need to be installed to be able to turn on the camer.
But non i found activate it.
From what I read it should be in Lenovo Settings with Audio settings, but sadly nothing there.
When I start the build in app "camera" from Windows, it tells me there is no atached camera.
Those are the Lenovo x220 related installed application that showed up in Add/Remove Software.
Sadly the only camera driver from Lenovo page which is: Integrated Camera Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP - ThinkPad , dosn't help.

Here's what I get for your MTM:
    ThinkPad X220 (4291-TGY)
    i5-2540M(2.6GHz), 4GB RAM, 320GB 7200rpm HD, 12.5in 1366x768 LCD, Intel HD Graphics,
    Intel 802.11agn wireless, WWAN option,Bluetooth, 1Gb Ethernet,UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6c Li-Ion,Win7 Pro 32
I notice that there is no mention of a camera. Are you sure your X220 has the physical device installed?
If you use your MTM and your serial number here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/ibasepartslookup
you should get back a listing of the components installed in your machine at its build. The list can be somewhat cryptic, so please feel free to post it back here and we can dig further.

  • Lenovo G560 overheating. Need tips on fan speed control

When I am watching movies on my G560 laptop, the area to the left of my touchpad is getting very hot and the laptop is shutting down at times.
When I bought my laptop I used to hear fan noise, but I have noticed recently that I do not hear the fan any more. I was wondering of there was a way to check the fan speed and manually alter it.
The warranty on my G560 is running out with in a month or so, a quick response would be appreciated.

the cpu greece tests over the years are the most bunch of snake oil i ever seen.
one review site did a test with 50 and used choclate and fingernail polish to show most are complete waste of money.
    compaq builds junk.
    lenovo dose not.
the real reason is the notebook makers dont even built the latops.
there like 3 companys that make 90% of the worlds notebooks and pc.
you never even heard of them either.
they make the sonys, acers and so on in a plant on a line with dozens of brands.
just like the way foxconn makes the apples these are huge companys that make the products per instruction of the notebook brand.
notebooks are not like desktops one bit because they are in a tiny space where heat puts a curse in the board.
when you release this you release that spot.
the part of contact for a cpu die is really tiny so it dont have to make the same contact point as cpu cooler.
cpu coolers of notebook are well designed unlike the desktop cooler they make very good contact.
discrete graphics is another story most of all on compaqs with they used a very bad design and had majior issues with.
trust me there no such issues with lenovos because they use a good company to make there notebooks and they also use a good design.
the fan noise issue well that was more of a watch out for sandy bridge issue as sandy bridge can be a very hot chip.
undervolting the chip makes a huge difference in heat as it comes with no performance loss.
it also dont change the way the cpu sits.
when the cpu was mated to the motherboard it perfict that day.
when you pull the cpu now it never fit the same exact way as it has been stressed over time by the tourqe and the heat.
pulling it will effect the fit.
most people dont have the skill to change the greece on a cpu because they will use to much and unlike a desktop cpu that has no open transistors on the surface the mobile cpu dose.
they will add too much and it will run and short out them.
look at a pic of a mobile cpu and then a desktop cpu.
    a very different design.
what you telling people is a skill they dont have because they have no idea that a simple mistake will cost them hundreads of dollers.
notebook cpu run 200-300 dollers and some 500 bucks.
pulling the cpu heatsink will effect it natural fit because it under tenion.
i know this because i know metals well and i have 20 years of experence in this area.
i alos worked for a company long ago that made robots for the waffer cpu come from.
i think some people think they might know a quik fix because they built a pc before but notebooks are very different.
i do custom notebook setups for people up here in boston who are willing to spend more on my labour then most notebooks cost.
when i set up a pc it takes me 4-6 hours normally thats a standard win 7 time with all security and services adjusted complete.
people pay for my services because they get longer run times and they stomp anything even notebook makers that charge thousands for custom setups.
if i thought putting snake oil on a cpu would lower temps i would do it just for the lower fan noise and power use it would save.
i know the moment i release the heatsink i never recreate the same exact fit it had under the stress that time made and the point of contact metal to metal will allways be better then if you add silicon to it.
most people dont get that more then a pin head will be more then enough because more then that will cause a heat barrier and lower that.
there whole point to thermal paste is to fill graps in the metal that are from the lapping process.
it not to help cool it like some think.
no thermal paste will ever work better then a pure magnetic grip of metal to metal.
infact if you machine two blocks perfict they stick to each other as if they were magnets.
tourqe them and add heat and they never do that again.
that why latops heatsinks i feel are much more different them desktops one and what most people dont grasp.
dont belive me call your high school science teacher and he explaine why to you.

  • Can't use cam in GoToMeeting on MacBook

I have installed (and yes, deleted and reinstalled several times) the GoToMeeting app on my old MacBook, running OS X 10.6.3.
While in a Meeting, I can see the others on my screen, and text and talk, but they can't see me. Under Preferences/Webcam, I get the message "We did not detect a webcam. Please plug in a webcam." I have not found any options for selecting a webcam location though.
Now, my build in iSight cam works fine in Photobooth and iChat, but it also isn't working in Skype and iMovie (which doesn't *exactly* point to it being a Mac compatibility thing, but that's my best guess at this point).
So, I went out and bought the Live! Cam Chat HD VF0790 720p (full specs below). But, while it is recognized by Photobooth app, it's still not working in GoToMeeting.
Thanks for any advice! I have a follow up job interview soon and need to have a solution in about 10 hours.
Note: I can't update the OS or much else because I got the laptop from my dad and he doesn't remember the password. *sigh* He's trying to find it though.

    Hi HelpMeGoToMeeting,
Since your Live! Cam Chat HD is working with Photobooth, it can be safe to assume that its probably not an OS issue.
Have you tried other applications? (EX: iChat for Mac, Skype, etc)
Also, Im assuming that GoToMeeting is a 3rd party application (correct me if Im wrong).
If this is the case then you may need to check with the Application developers (for GoToMeeting) which webcams are actually supported for their app.
I actually found a link containing the "Recommended Webcams" for this app (link below):
