Build number Automatic update.

I need to automatically update build number/code version when each build is performed.
I am primarly looking for Ant support.
If you have good ideas / articles please do fwd me .

if only there was a buildnumber task in ant. Alas.....You'd think they'd have written something like that as a core task, and described it in the freely accessible Ant documentation for Core Tasks....

Automatically update PLA Serial Number

Hi CIN Gurus,
When we create J1IIN-Excise Invoice, the RG23A Serial numbers getting updated.
But how to get PLA Serial Number automatically updated in the database table. (J_1IPART2).
Because the client requirement is When the Invoice is printed, in that it should also list the RG23A/C or both Serial numbers updated and also the PLA Serial number(CESS or some times other excise duties).
And also to print the PLA Ledger which shows all the entries i.e RG23A/RG23C/PLA register.

Then each and every invoice before printing and send it with the lorry we need to do the utilisation. Is it what required ?
In real time, before printing the billing document, do we need to all that ?
Is it mandatory to print the RG23A serial number and PLA Serial number in the Invoice ?
With out printing them , just mentioning the duties and reference excise invoice number , will be accepted by Excise Department ?

Automatic update of number ranges in FBN1 is not getting processed

Automatic update of number ranges in FBN1 (current status) level is not getting processed.
Tried posting a customer payment document in the system though number ranges are maintained for the year 2015 the number ranges are not overlapped last year all documents are closed but still the numbers are not been picked automatically in FBN1 kindly help in this issue

Please verify if number ranges are maintained correctly, verify same using transaction OBA7. Also ensure that external assignment is unchecked in FBN1. Share screenshots if possible.

Raid building tip - Turn off Windows "Automatic update"

If you are running Windows and are in the software configuration setup stage of creating your raid, make sure you have windows update NOT set to automatic.
Otherwise during your long raid building stage (in my case it took almost an entire day when I configured my raid back in June) Windows could download an update and automatically install it and keep warning you that it will reboot in "so many " minutes unless you tell it to delay rebooting. As you know, it will keep bugging your that it about to reboot over and over again.
Fortunately I have automatic updates turned OFF on my editing machine so I have no surprise rebooting.
Since automatic update can be complety silent, you might go to bed expecting to see your raid finished in the morning, only to be surprised to find that your computer rebooted sometime during the night -- and your raid not completed.

Raid rebuilding will continue after a reboot. Restarting the system will not stop a rebuild from continuing.

10.7.5 supplemental update doesn't change build number to 11G63b

I have a bunch of Macs still with Lion and Apple Remote Desktop reports that one of them has Mac OS X 10.7.5 build number 11G63 while all the others have build number 11G63b. I'd like to align them so I installed the OS X Lion 10.7.5 Supplemental Update on the Mac with build 11G63 to update it to 11G63b. The update installed correctly but after restarting the Mac it still reports 10.7.5 build 11G63.
Am I missing something?
I read that the supplemental update "is not needed if you install the Mac OS X Lion v10.7.5 Update (build 11G63)" but AFAIK it should nevertheless update the build number, shouldn't it?

How to get automatic updates for P750 custom build

I recently purchased a custom built P750 and want to sign up for automatic updates. There is no option for just a P750 which is my complete model number.
8GB ram
I7 2.20GHz
Windows HP SP1 with all updates installed at this time.
How can I get automatic updates for this machine and operating system and if so, how do I get signed up for those?
Should I just choose a model number and pretend it is the model I have? Which number should I choose?

How to configure automatic updation of check number in FCHU from FCH5

Does syncing to iTunes automatically update the iPad 2? Or is there another procedure to updating the iPad 2?

I very recently bought an iPad 2 for my wife. She tried to do some online shopping and couldn't get past the checkout screen. Poor girl tried all day and was so frustrated when I came home. I told her to use my PC laptop and she was done in minutes. I went to the local Apple Store and their advice was to disconnect and reconnect the iPad WIFI connection. And to update the iPad. I sync'd to iTunes and couldn't figure out how to search for updates. Does syncing automatically do the updating?

No - to update the operating system (iOS) on the iPad connect it your computer's iTunes, and in iTunes select the Device on the left-hand side, and on the summary tab click 'Check for Updates'. The current version is 4.3.3 - you can tell which version your iPad has by looking at the Version field in Settings > General > About on the iPad (the bit in brackets is just the build number of the iOS release); the iPad's current iOS version is also shown on the summary tab mentioned above. If you do not currently have the most up-to-date version then the download is just under 600 meg, and therefore may take a while to download.

How do I specify the build number when deploying an iOS application (not version number)

I'm looking for a way to specify the application's build number when deploying an iOS application.
Currently in the -app.xml file, you can specify a version number by using:
<versionNumber>1.0.24</versionNumber>
But when submitting to the iTunes Connect store, I want to be able to submit the new updates as a build change, and not version change to avoid the approval process again.
Can this be done ?

Hi Gig52,
Unfortunately, there is no way for you update/modify/increment the build/version number information from the command line. You will have to set that via the Project Explorer. You could check the box labeled Auto Increment in the Version Information property to have the version number automatically increment each time you build your application.

Automatic update cs extensions

I'm trying to build in a automatic updater for my cs extension as described in this Adobe pdf,
but it's not working yet.
Let me describe my steps so far:
I have my extension - version 1.0 - installed in the host (Illustrator and Premiere)
With this zxp I have an mxi installed with an update tag:
<update>http://www.server.com/bla/update.xml</update>
and the version set to 1.0:
<macromedia-extension name="com.example.bla" requires-restart="true" version="1.0">
I also have set the version number in the manifest.xml here:

</ExtensionList>
Then I change smt in the extension (maybe not even necessary?), change the manifest version to 1.1, build it and upload it to my server,
and I create an update.xml with the zxp path and the new version number, which I also upload to my server:

Thanks, What sort of issues are you referring to? I tested it on two domains and internet connection is fine.
Funny thing is that when I check the csxs3-PPRO.log file it doesn't mention the update or update url in any way.
As if there is smt wrong with the mxi file, which looks like this:

Automatic update to 9.3.2 not running

We have a number of branch offices with computers running Vista SP1 with Adobe Reader installed on them. With the most recent Reader update, rather than prompting the user to install the update, only a tray icon is displayed and the user must click on it to initialize the installation. Naturally, nobody actually does this.
I found the Adobe Reader Updater configuration guide here (PDF link). I followed the instructions to set the "iCheck" key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM to 3 to have updates automatically installed. Now the icon does not appear in the system tray, but the updates are never installed. Here is the text from the AdobeARM.log file after a reboot:

I assume "IsUAC_Enabled returns 1." means it thinks UAC is enabled, which is not the case. Users have local admin.

Update: It appears UAC was disabled on these computers by setting the following two policies in Local Security Policy under Security Settings\Local Policy\Security Options:
User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for Administrators in Admin Approval Mode: Elevate without prompting
User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode: Enabled
I'm going to see if there's a group policy that needs to be set to convince the updater that UAC is in fact disabled, since I think this may be a somewhat non-standard method of disabling it. I'll keep you posted.

The ISO available for download is Windows 10 9841 version.
Versions for 9860 and 9879 is only available through Windows update. As this is documented in the blog posted by MakeMelaugh, here is the QUOTED information:
For Windows 10 9860:
The latest build will come to you automatically via the magic of Windows Update. For most of you this means in the middle of the night (as long as your PC is plugged in and either on or sleeping)
it will be downloaded and installed for you. Note that Windows Update will not automatically download the new build over metered networks.
For Windows 10 9879:
Just like last time, this new build will come to you automatically via Windows Update, installed during your maintenance window if your PC is plugged in and on or sleeping. If you’re currently in the Fast ring, the build is available
now. If you’re in the Slow ring, you won’t receive the build right away – we’ll publish to Slow after we see how everything goes with the Fast ring. This is a full build, and it will be installed as an in-place upgrade, so you’ll go through those colorful
“installing your apps” screens again. This is because your account is being re-provisioned after the upgrade.
For how to make the Windows 10 9879 ISO available, there seems to be no official way to support it.

I automatically updated to Firefox 4.0.1 for Mac, and now the program misbehaves. It hangs when I try to quit. Can I downgrade to 4.0?

I was running 4.0 on my Intel Mac (Leopard 10.5.8), and everything was fine. Firefox automatically updated me to 4.0.1. Then I noticed my computer running very slowly. I am unable to quite Firefox without forcing a quit.
Can I reinstall 4.0? If so, where can I download the original version?

Your users agent is stuck at Firefox 3.0.11 due to a extension during when you had 3.0.11 and it tacked on stuff on end and kept it from updating the version number. This was due to the "Fast Browser Search toolbar" extension (FBSMTWB). This issue is not a problem with Firefox 4.0 and newer.

Automatically updating files on local testing Server

I'm using EasyPHP-5.3.5.0 as a testing server on my local machine (I've use EasyPHP for several years). I set up the Site Definition in DW8 using the testing server root folder (www) as the development area; however, this caused problems when I attempted to upload from within DW to the Remote (production) server. I then modified the Site Definition to use a local folder. other then the Testing Server folder, for development which solved the upload problem. Then in the Site Definition I setup the Testing Server using the "PHP MySQL" model with "Local/Network" access. The Testing Server folder was set to "C:\Program Files\EasyPHP-5.3.5.0\" and the "Refresh Testing file list automatically" box was checked. The URL prefex was set to "http://127.0.0.1:8888/" as defined in the EasyPHP instructions. My problem is that Dreamweaver is not updating the files on the testing server when I save a file in the development folder. The development folder and the Testing Server reside on the same computer. If I copy and paste a file to the testing server everything works fine. I would like the testing server files to be automatically updated when I save a file in the development folder which is what the Site Definition seems to indicate should happen. Any thoughts on what the problem is and how to fix it would be appreciated.
