Build your own documentation?

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know a way (SAP application, external application) to build good SAP documentation?
I mean, I'm searching for a way to build documentation as help to key users using menus, transactions, reports, either in SAP BI or ECCS.
Could be creation of videos, automatically creation of images, text, any format.
Any ideas are welcome.
Best regards,
Diogo Ferreira.

  • SQL Server Data Warehouse Creation External or Build Your own

    Hi,
In our firm we have a data warehouse which has been created by an external supplier.
The warehouse is being used for some reporting and dashboards but only for a single client, we have yet to fully utilize it.
My question is should we build a new data warehouse or should we push forward with the data warehouse created by the external supplier. I know it would take some time to build a data warehouse however it means we will have full control over it and could
overcome any issues we have with it in house.
It would really help if someone could offer some advice.
    Thanks

    Hi Nasa1999,
I am trying to involve someone more familiar with this topic for a further look at this issue. Sometime delay might be expected from the job transferring. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • Firefox 5 can't open pages in Honda Build Your Own Site

We upgraded to FF5 last night. All seemed well till ...
I was interested in configuring and pricing a Honda CR-V this morning on the Honda web site. I have used it in the past with no problems.
    I went to: http://automobiles.honda.com/tools/build-price/models.aspx
This is where you can select which vehicle to price or configure. I clicked on the CR-V and nothing happened. Normally, a page pops up where you select the model (like LX, SE, etc.). I tried other vehicles on the page, nah dah.
I cleared disk cache in advanced.
    I restarted FF5. Same problem.
I turned off No-Script (my only add-on). Same problem.
    I restarted FF5. Same problem.
I filled out the sad face, Mozilla feedback paragraph and tried to send it to mozilla. Same problem.
    I restarted our iMac.
    I started FF5. Same problem.
    I quit FF5.
I started FF4.01 (Noscript disabled). NO PROBLEM with Honda site.
I filled out the Sad face, Mozilla feedback paragraph and sent it to mozilla. NO PROBLEM.
    iMac OS X, 10.5.8

The post I was responding to said,
"Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps. "
Somehow, I think that means Windows...
I've tried Firefox in Safe Mode - it makes no difference.

  • Build your own MacBook pro

I am planning to buy a 13" macbook pro to use during my PhD. I will be dealing with large amounts of data (several GB big files) and will have to process them quickly. I will also be programming and writing and testing code. Should I improve the configurations? If so how? Should I add RAM? Should I upgrade the processor?

If you are going to be processing large quantities of data and programming, you would be better served with an i7 processor unit from the 15" family of MBPs.  The non-baseline hard drives and non-glare screens are only available from the Apple on-line store...memory upgrades are available at the Apple retail stores but very expensive compared with sources such as Crucial and OWC, http://www.macsales.com who are Mac specialists.  Upgrading from the 5400 rpm drive to the 7200 rpm drive will give an appreciable boost in storage access time.
If you are going to program in languages such as FORTRAN, you will need to register as a developer (free to do that) so you can download xCode which is free to developers.  You have to have xCode to run most compilers.
Also get an external hard drive, prefereably one that is fast and has multiple interfaces such as eSata and Firewire 800.

  • Can I use a PCI-1424 with a non-standard camera and build my own camera file?

I want to test a certain CCD which in non-standard and I want to setup the direct interface with it. My idea is to use a 1424 board and build the camera file.

Technically, you can build your own cable and ICD (configuration) file for your camera. It can be very difficult, though. If the CCD is fairly standard, NI might be willing to create a basic ICD file for you which you can modify to do what you want. The best way to figure out what can be done in an ICD file is to look at ICD files for other cameras.

  • Should I build my own component, or is there a solution to my built-in ScrollPane woes?

"I am desperate. I am going insane. Please, please help me."
That is how my last post ended. And no one replied, which I
suppose means that there is no solution to the problem I have with
the ScrollPane component in flash 8.
I just want to put both of the scroll arrows of the
ScrollPane's scroll bar together on the same end of the scroll
track, instead of at opposite ends of the track.
I have customized everything else about the ScrollPane with
HaloThemes and setStyle, etc, but cannot seem to re-position the
    arrows.
So, I am wondering if I should just make my own scroll pane.
I have been cautioned against using too much actionscript in flash,
though, so I am wary. Anyone know of a reliable method for making a
scroll pane for images with scroll arrows that can be positioned
    together?
Or should I stick it out with the built-in ScrollPane?

No, what you ask is not possible with the standard
    components.
I don't understand why you would be cautioned against using
    "too much actionscript" in Flash....
Everything I do is built entirely with AS these days. I even
draw out all of my elements at runtime, and this makes my
interfaces faster, both in loading and in processing. So there is
nothing wrong with using a ton of AS in Flash. However, if you do
not know AS very well, these things are fairly difficult to do.
If you do know AS fairly well, then go ahead and make your
own Scroll Pane. Best-case scenario, you make a component that fits
your needs, and is much smaller (file-size) than the ScrollPane.
The built-in components tend to be a bit bloated. Worst-case
scenario: Over too much time, you make something that is bigger
than the ScrollPane component, and pretty much does the job you
want, but is a bit buggy, and you have quite a few headaches on the
    way.
Personally, I do not understand why Adobe hasn't given us the
ability to rearrange the arrows on the UIScrollBar, or even simply
turn the track off completely. These seem like simple things that
should be easy for Adobe to add. I really need to compile a list of
things to submit through the wish list page.
So, you can stick with the ScrollPane, have it easy and done,
but with a sub-ideal scrollbar. Or you can work at building your
own ScrollPane component. If you build your own, you may spend a
bit of time in development, but you will be able to get your
scroller to display the way you want.

  • PHP-building my own shopping cart

    Hi all
Has anyone tried to build their own shopping cart?
Besides a secure space on a server, does anyone know a little
bit about what building a shopping
    cart entails?
I am using PHP and I would look into integrating the shopping
    Cart with authorize.net...
Authorize.net has some documentation for developpers about
this, so I'll look into it, but I just
wondered if this was something anybody had done, and if this
was accessible to someone like me (I
know my PHP pretty good) if this is way over-the-top
    complicated.

  • Rolling your own - disk array

Hi, I am going to build my own 4 drive firewire array and need a little advice.
I have an old SCSI enclousre with 4 removable drive trays, and I am going to rip out the guts of the thing and replace the SCSI bits with a inito2340 4 drive firewire bridgeboard (dual FW800 and single FW400 ports) and couple it with 4x300GB Maxtor PATA drives. The documentation on the bridgeboard states I can do a hardware stripe across the 4 drives for a 1.2TB striped partition.
Has anyone else done this? If so, any suggestions? It's insanly cheap compared to the alternatives.
    ~100$ for the bridgeboard,
    70@ea for the HDD's
    SCSI enclousre for free
so ~$350 for 1.2TB... much cheaper than buying one!
    Thanks,
    Alex

Hello, Welcome to the discussion boards. I have currently been working on creating custom stationery. The way I am doing it is reverse engineering what Apple has already done.
The stationery check box you talk of is for creating stationery for the application the document was originally developed in, not for saving Mail stationery. I'm sorry if that was confusing to you.
Apple's developer website has some great resources for creating Mail Stationery. Follow this link...

    Jeff

    Great post Jeff,
With regard to Jquery UI and tabs I've contacted the Apex dev team and received a reply from them.
All the jQueryUI files are included in the APEX 4.0 distribution, but not all jQueryUI components
are loaded by default to avoid a huge initial download. It's not necessary to load your own version of jQueryUI, just load the missing component.
For the "Tabs" you have to add
    <link href="IMAGE_PREFIX#libraries/jquery-ui/1.8/themes/base/jquery.ui.tabs.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <script src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#libraries/jquery-ui/1.8/ui/minified/jquery.ui.tabs.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
to your page template or the header attribute of your page where you want to use it.They did not mention which other Jquery UI widgets were not included so people need to check to see if they get any JS errors Like "$('#tabs').tabs() is not a function" this would suggest that tabs is not being loaded. To included it in you page header directly after #HEAD# you need to place the css and js as stated above.
If you need jquery help just post you queries here or the is some other jquery links that maybe of some use

  • Use your own iOS app on your own iOS device without buying a developer program.

This is no question; it is simply a request that you make it possible for people with the free developer program to use their own iOS apps that they built themselves without having to pay $99 a year.
This is because loads of people want to build small apps for themselves, and can do so easily now that Xcode is free on the AppStore. The main problem with this is that they have to pay to simply do this.
So this is in a way a petition for all you people who are the same; who have written your own iOS apps for your personal use only, apps that shall not be distributed and only serve to show what you can do or help a family game to get Apple to make this small thing possible for you (us).
So please post here if you want the same.
    Thank you.

As always, feel free to use Report a Bug for any samples, doc additions, feature requests or enhancements you'd like to see as well. Add your BR# to this thread for reference, thanks.
But I wouldn't hold my breath on this one....it would only result in immediate scams.

    Hi Serma,
I haven't use this FM. I only can advise you how to find user exits in this (any) FM.
Open your FM via SE37 and then try to find in this Function Group any CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION 'xxx' ..., where xxx is a 3-digit number which refers to the relevant FM EXIT_<FG>_xxx.
<FG> is the name of the Function group to which the FM belongs to.
When you find such an EXIT-Function, take a look at the parameters. When you find parameters which satisfy your needs, go ahead and build your EXIT enhancement in the predefined ZX-Include (you can find this inside the FM EXIT_<FG>_xxx).
    I hope this helps,
    Heinz
