Building a directory content

Hi everybody,
I have too many *.fmb files (more than 1500) to build with Oracle Forms Builder. These files are old versioned and I need to build them to upgrade their version.
I installed Oracle Fusion Middleware 11.1.1.2 Forms & Reports.
I can able to open an "fmb" file and build it.
On the other hand somebody told me that there is an easy way to build a directory content.
Is there anyone have an idea about this?
How can I build a directory containing 1500 *.fmb files by using Oracle Fusion Middleware Forms & Reports tools? or something else..

Go to NWA>Configuration>Infrastructure>Java System Properties, Click on the Applications tab and search tc~pi~tools~dirmig~wd & Start Application as shown in below screenshot.

How to build Table of Content in Crystal Reports

Initially, I am looking for an article about how to build Table of Content in Crystal Reports in table-based approach----including how to write to DB table from report:

Importing directory contents locally?

Hi
I'm wondering if someone can point me to any resources that will help me learn how to do the following (I'm using Flash CS5 and Air).
- import the contents of a particular local dir into variables
or
- import the contents of a particular local dir into a datagrid
then
allow these filenames to be dragged into cells in another data grid (alternatively, into input text fields), so that the data can then be placed into more variables.

Show serverside directory contents in applet

Hello,
On my website I want an applet which shows the files which are in the same directory as where the class file is.
So it shows serverside directory contents of where my website is located.
The most topics here about listfiles are all about listing files on a local machine with policy files. I want my applet to listfiles from the server.
Does anyone know how to achive this?

How would you do a similar thing as you have coded below, but instead of an Applet have the Directory names populate a drop down menu on a JSP and then when a Directory is selected, have the files in the Directory appear as HTML links on the screen?

Slow display of directory contents.

Anyone else have issues with slow directory content display with Lion? Having the same issue with 3 machines. It is agonizing up to 30 seconds to display the contents of directories. Think this would be a no brainer, but obviously not. This happens when opening files from within programs and simply in the Finder. Two of the machines are MacPro 2x Quad Core machines with 14GB RAM. Wouldn't think either machine would have any problem with doing this simple task.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

Building a Directory

I am helping my sister build a directory from scratch. The information has never been digitally entered; so we are doing that from the beginning. Roughly 250 people with name, address, city, state, zip (then she needs to get: phone numbers, email, office held and date joined)
We want to be able to sort by last name; including last minute inclusions.
We want to format entire directory for a nice printed booklet that will be half of a legal page format.
We want to be able to add photos, if not this year, then next year.
We plan to distribute the booklet as a pdf as well as a printed book.
Our largest problem is what way to input the data so we can sort by last name. We want to be able to import the files into ID. Am I making too much of this? Should we just enter it into ID from the get go? Can we sort in ID? I have NeoOffice on both my Mac and hers.
I am using CS6 and she has CS4.

I am helping my sister build a directory from scratch. The information has never been digitally entered; so we are doing that from the beginning. Roughly 250 people with name, address, city, state, zip (then she needs to get: phone numbers, email, office held and date joined)
We want to be able to sort by last name; including last minute inclusions.
We want to format entire directory for a nice printed booklet that will be half of a legal page format.
We want to be able to add photos, if not this year, then next year.
We plan to distribute the booklet as a pdf as well as a printed book.
Our largest problem is what way to input the data so we can sort by last name. We want to be able to import the files into ID. Am I making too much of this? Should we just enter it into ID from the get go? Can we sort in ID? I have NeoOffice on both my Mac and hers.
I am using CS6 and she has CS4.

You probably want to sort by last name and first name and perhaps even middle initial, not just by last name, so that Zelda Jones comes after Alice Jones.
InDesign does not sort, so your options are:
* Enter and manage the data in a spreadsheet, and export it to Comma Separated Values (CSV), and, as Peter S. says, use the CSV file as the data file for InDesign's Data Merge feature.
* Use a commercial third-party InDesign plug-in, like Active Tables from dtptools.com. It sorts tables, as well as performs many of the most-common spreadsheet formula functions. Then export to CSV. There's a trial available for ID up to CS6. It's not clear if that version will work with the Creative Cloud version.
Whichever spreadsheet tool you choose, consider that you might want to perform some formula manipulations on data. For example, in some cases, ID fails to eliminate blank space and blank lines where a data field is blank, even though the option is enabled. One workaround is to use text functions to manipulate the data fields in the spreadsheet, to combine the present and missing fields into a single new computed field, and use that field in the data merge.

Mass Copy directory contents and permissions from production to test server

am using SUNOS5.8.
I found out there is a discrepency between the production and test environments.
The discrepency is only with folder and subfolders contained in /admin/bin/myfolder.
The production environment is more up to date and the test environment is lagging behind.
I want to make both the environments same, as they should be.
Is there a single command in Unix that will overwrite existing folders/files in test server and copy everything including permissions starting from /admin/bin/myfolder from production server to test server?
Please also give examples of how to user the command?

I have come to know there are various tools available:
rsh
rcp
rdist
rsync
scp
sftp
ftp
ftp is a very tedious tool to copy all directory contents one by one.
cd DirA
mv * /path/to/DirB
This method is also not a very preferable one.

You browse to the folder, but the files from the folder are added to the disk, not the folder. (I think subfolders are added, but I don't recall.) They can be pretty much anything: it is just a data disk in that sense.

That document is called Technical Specification.
Usually technical specification contains:
1) Source and Target system info.
2) Process flow along with diagram
3) Integration Repository objects (DT,MT,MI,MM,IM,External definition,BPM)
4) Integration Directory Objects (Business system and service name,CC sender and receiver,Reciever determination, Interface determination, Sender and receiver agreement.
U have to follow the project specific naming std and used in design and directory.

Dynamic page based on directory content/structure

I'm trying to build a web page based the content of a directory. I'm going to try and explain this as briefly as possible, yet still make sense.
There are many more file than this, but an example of the directory of the index.html's looks like this:
e:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Courses\Dev\Environmental Management Systems\Content\Install\Templates\en\index.html

With this structure, the root path is: e:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Courses.
Dev would become a main section.
Environmental Management Systems would become a Course title, because it has an index.html.
I want to ignore the rest of the index.html's underneath.
A caveat to this, is I need it to possibly go one level deeper.

Of course there are a lot more files, which is part of the problem I'm having. Right now it takes about 8 seconds to read all the files, which is too long for building a page. Once I get all the main, subs, and Courses determined, I would then build the page, using some kind of menu.
Below is the code I have that searches all files under a parent folder, I'm just not sure how to make it stop once it finds the correct index.html. I started to put in a recursive stop, but haven't quite figured out how to implement that either.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Btw, the intention here, is that the person that manages these courses can just ftp a new course directory to the server, and it's then available.

Architecturally, I would not put this code in a JSP, put it in a Plain Old Java Object that gets called by a Servlet, builds the tree, then passes the tree to the JSP for display. It will make things easier in the long run.
I would also look into caching the results. When you traverse the directory structure, hold the results in memory. Use a timestamp that records the last time the \Courses\ directory was traversed, and compare it to the \Courses\ last modified time. If \Courses\ was modified after the timestanp then re-load the content. This would reduce that 8 second load time to only occur when changes were made.
Similarly, you could further reduce loading time by
1) Compare a section with those sections already loaded. If it doesn't exist, then traverse it and add the directory structure
2) If the section does exist, use a timestamp and modified time to see if it the section has changed. If it has changed, traverse it and update the directory structure
3) If the section does exist and hasn't been modified, leave it alone.
You would then want to make classes to represent the entire tree of files - which would contain a timestamp and a list of sections (main sections). Each section would have a timestamp, a list of sub-sections, and a list of courses. A course would have a timestamp and a list of files for the course. And as was mentioned this tree structure would be held in memory and returned as needed.
For viewing files that are too deep in the structure, that will take more looking into than I have time for now. Sorry.

Network drives showing repeating copies of directory content

I'm experiencing a weird issue with mapped network drives under Windows 7. Sometimes it will list the contents of a directory normally, others it will list hundreds of copies of the contents, and sometimes it will keep listing them over and over without stopping. Occasionally refresh will show the contents correctly but it's a **** shoot. It's happening on all network drives. Server is running OES under SUSE 11 sp3 with the latest update from the beginning of the month. Have not done the distribution upgrade yet. Workstation I'm on is running Novell Client 2 SP3 for Windows 7 (IR5). I haven't noticed the issue on XP computers. Any idea what could be causing this? It seemed to start sometime in January or early February.

Directory content with WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT

I want to show the content, the files of a directory in a new browser-window, which is opened from within forms.
I tried the built-in WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('URL','_blank')
which works fine if the specified URL contains an existing .html file at the end, and the directory is a subdirectory from the DOCUMENTROOT specified in the httpd.conf.
But how is the syntax for displaying just the contents of the directory ?

The users are also allowed to access the directory.
The idea is to write from a form into a file with the filename containing a timestamp. Then the user could see (with the web.show_document() ) all his files, also those with older timestamps. Each user has his own directory and it should not be able to go up to the root directory.
I do not know exactly how to setup a virtual serverpath with AS, so I would first use ORACLE_AS_HOME/Apache/Apache/htdocs/myusers
where each user has its own directory below myusers.
Can you confirm that using TEXT_IO for data-export is writing on the AS machine, whereas using UTL_FILE is writing on the database machine.
Is it possible to setup the AS to access directories wich are not below the htdocs directory , e.g. by putting the myusers under /home/myusers ?

How do I browse directory contents in Contribute CS3?

Hi everyone!
I have one of our users uploading photos to our website. At the moment she uses an FTP connection via Adobe Contribute CS3 to our web server. This has worked great in the past. However, at the moment she's uploading pictures to a dynamic website [Wordpress] and not using Contribute to edit the pages directly [as this is obviously done with the Wordpress Administration web panel]. The method she has been using is, within Adobe Contribute CS3, File>Publish File from My Computer. This is great, but the problem is that she can only upload one file at a time, and if she's already uploaded the file, she has no way of knowing she's uploaded it before, except for that Contribute appends a 001 at the end of the file name.
How can she access a folder structure within Contribute CS3, treating it like an FTP client? I'm sure this must be doable. Yes, I could install an FTP client, but she's very comfortable using Contribute CS3 and uses this application for other portions of the website which are static.

Hi,
To check if she's already uploaded the file, she can click the Choose button in Contribute. On clicking Choose button, Choose File dialog will be shown. In this dialog, she can browse to the appropriate folder in which she had published the images, and verify the contents.
For uploading multiple files through Publish File from my Computer, I do not think it is possible as of now. There can be a workaround though, insert all the images you want to a web page, and publish the web page to the website. Then, all the images will be published along with the web page. Then, you can delete that web page.
Note: The images in a web page, generally are placed in the 'images' directory of the website by Contribute. If you are placing the images in different folder, then, make sure that you change the publish folder for images to that folder.

RH 11: Conditional Build tags applied: Content still showing up in search

Hello. I am generating WebHelp using conditional build tags using RH 11.
I have marked books in the TOC with a CBT of Not in 6.1.
I generated help and excluded content marked with the CBT Not in 6.1.
When the Web Help is generated, the books marked with the CBT do not display in the TOC. However, if I do a search, topics that are under the books and therefore should not be included in the output have search results returned.
Is there a scenario in which topics that have been excluded from the generated help would still show up in search?

Indeed there are a few reasons this may happen.
First, simply excluding a topic or a book in the TOC simply makes sure that the TOC doesn't have a link pointing to the topic. Normally, I'll just tag the topic itself and ignore tagging the TOC. If a topic has been excluded, it won't appear in the TOC.
In the WebHelp SSL recipe, click to expand the Content Categories section and look at the settings on the right. You might try ensuring the following option is enabled. It's named Exclude Unreferenced Topics from Output. As long as nothing else is linking to the topic, ensuring it is removed from the TOC *SHOULD* cause it to no longer be included.
