Building a membership website

Im planning on developing a website with unique content that
I wish to make a membership website. I have recently aquired the
new cs4 web premium suite to develop my website. I was wondering if
there was additional software i needed to purchase or could i make
a membership website using contribute or dreamweaver or something
else sing ASP.net?

Can you build a mobile website in Muse and redirect to a desktop website which is not built in Muse?

Hi
I am looking at the idea of extending my photoshop monthly subscription to one that will give me access to Muse and Illustrator etc.
I have been building mobile websites on a mobile platform and then redirecting these to clients desktop sites - this is an option for clients who don't want to go the whole hog with new web design.
Is it possible to build a mobile website using muse and then redirect this mobile website to an existing desktop site that has not been built on Muse?

You can certainly use Muse for hosting on other hosts as well. You do lose some of the functionality of Business Catalyst such as In Browser Editing. I just saw that you did your current one in Wordpress ... so I assume there is a blog?
If so, keep in mind that Muse alone does not have a blog feature. You can integrate a Business Catalyst Blog into it with a bit of knowledge on how BC works.

Adobe Muse - How to Build a Bilingual Website?

I need to build a bilingual website for a client using Adobe Muse. Anyone know how to do it? I already built the English version. Now I need to build the Spanish version. I thought I could just make two Master pages - English and Spanish Master Pages, but that didn't work.

Does Mac have any software for creating Membership Websites?

As far as I know Mac doesn't have any software like that.

I've just finished building a new website with iWeb, I want to build a new site, how can I save the details from the first site?

I've been building a new website with iWeb. Its now complete, but I will need to keep all the detasils involved as I make amendments from time to time. Now I want to start a new site on a completely different subject. But every time I go to start the new site, it just seems to be 'papering' over the details of the old one. How can I begin a completely new site without overwriting the details of the previous site, and where do I save the original site details to for easy access.

Need Help Configuring Membership Website with External Approval Process

I am working on configuring a membership website for a group of scientist. Here are the interesting requirements. Any brainstorming would be helpful.
1 - A prospective member applies online. Within the application the prospective member has to include a reference for previous work proving his qualifications and naming a reference to confirm the qualifications. The prospective member has to include the reference's name and email address. (Site visitor creats a new user-submitted webapp item, easy enough.)
2 - The application needs to kick off a workflow to an external site visitor (someone who doesn't have a site login). This reference needs to confirm of reject the prospective member's qualifications.
3 - If the external site visitor approves the reference, then the membership director needs to be emailed of the approval. This approval should then kickoff another approval process to ask the membership director for his approval.
4 - If the external site visitor rejects the reference, then the membership directory needs to be emailed the rejection notification. (If the reference rejects then there will be some sort of appeal process or ability to start over or submit a different reference.)
5 - If the reference approves and the membership director approves, then the prospective member is notified and submitted an invoice to pay. His memberhsip is not active until he pays.
6 - Once the member pays, then he appears in the online directory.
7 - The member will also be able to login and edit his profile as needed.
That about sums it up. Any ideas??

1. Do I need to connect the two base stations via an ethernet cable?
OR
Can I simply plug the second base station into a power outlet in any room, along with the external hard drive connected to it's USB port?
Airport Utility would not even recognize the second base station unless it is using an ethernet LAN-to-LAN connection. (It would not recognize the second base station with WAN-to-LAN connection.)
You basically have three choices here that will allow the second AEBSn to share the attached USB HDD:
Wired: Interconnect the two AEBSns by Ethernet; reconfigure both base stations into a roaming network.
Wireless: Configure both AEBSns for an extended network. Note: This is what Lowell Tuttman is referring to.
Wireless: Configure the second AEBSn as its own wireless network. This would work but would require network clients to switch network to access the drive or access the Internet. Not really practical and not recommended.
The following Apple Support link provides very detailed information on setting up either a roamng or extended network with multiple AirPorts.
2. Since I don't really care about the second base station utilizing the internet connection, do I set it up in Airport Utility as "create a new wireless network"?
This is the current setting and I have a steady green light. However, Time Machine does not recognize the disk.
In the first choice I provided, the second AEBSn would be configured to both "Wireless Mode = Create a wireless network" and "Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)."

now im following it, ant some things aren't right, i think so.
im from holland (so my english isn't that good, but good enough to read it, i hope so, or my english really sucks..
My next question is: wil some one do te tutorial 2, and discus this project with me?
i need to be sure if im wrong of the maker of the tutorial, It's just frustation u get, i want to learn something and i do only sometimes i can't get further and then im looking at the screen for a hour

Can I use Muse to build my Partner Website with BC?

Hi every one! I'm back. I've been learning enough about BC and am finally getting to building my Partner Website. I've mostly been using Muse to create websites (Though I'm currently learning other methods in BC), and I started to do my Partner Website but when I went to upload it to my Partner site on BC (Yes I went through the process to set everything up and it even gave me a Partner site template) I clicked on publish but I couldn't find my Partner Site to select. I found all my other sites I've been working on but not my partner site. Am I missing something or am I just not allowed to use Muse to build my Partner site?
The reason I ask is because I want to use my Partner site to promote the templates that I made on muse. I've looked into and researched building my site purely on BC and while I'm making progress, I am having trouble finding a way to build my site with just BC and then put my Muse templates/themes on there for people to see.
Any an all help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
You can't publish files to the partner site directly from Muse. You need to export the site from Muse from Menu > Export HTML. You can then connect to your partner site using some FTP client such as FIlezilla and upload the exported files in the same hierarchy to your BC site. Nothing is happening when I click on to the link. The 'hand' appears as if something is linked there but nothing opens. Yes, I'm previewing the page in Muse itself.

Can't play midifiles that are build in with websites? some weeks ago it did on iphone ipad and imac. what to do?

Since a few weeks I can't hear the midifiles that are build in in some websites. My iMac just won't play them
Already installed latest Quicktime and selected as to use all the time on midifiles. However, when I try websites that I could always
hear it just don't work. Neither on my iPhone 5S, nor my iPhone 4S, nor my iPad air, nor my mac Book!!
Is this a problem with Safari? Or also IOS? and OSX?

I'm a beginner, can I build a basic website?

First time posting in this forum. I currently have "Production Premium CS5". I am self taught with the help of some very good books. While I learned all the apps. I am most advanced in "After Effects", Premier Pro and Photo Shop. I have a small business and really need to get a website going. I have absolutely zero knowledge about website building. I also had zero knowledge of CS3,4,5 and have done well being self taught.
My website will be pretty basic. Information mostly but I will need a few search options.
I also want to be able to maintain it myself.
My Question is: Can I with a few good books teach myself to build my fairly simple website using Dreamweaver? Im not even sure what Dreamweaver is or what it can do exactly.
Are there better options for me?
I am willing to put in the time but I can't take a year to do this either.

Building an Alumni website

I am not an expert web author. I am however planning to purchase the Adobe Dreamweaver to create a website for my graduating class. This website must have the following: Chat, Forum, Message Board, Allow members to enter and edit their personal information, A page for remembering those who have passed away, Other information relevant to an Alumni group.
I found a hosting service that offers template based Alumni websites. This service has most of the capabilities I require but limits my ability to control the design. Here is a link to that site: http://www.dinthill65ers.org. Can I use Dreamweaver to create a site similar to this?

Yes and no. The learning curve is naturally a personal thing.
Those books will teach you skills and principles but they won't give you a recipe for doing exactly what you want. You'll have to design the features yourself then code them to work.
Make sure any book you buy is for the actual version of Dreamweaver that you're using. Don't try and use a CS4 book for DW CS3, you'll just confuse yourself.
