Building a setup.exe from CVI?

How to create a SETUP.exe from CVI 6.0 application

Hi,
In fact you 've to create a distro kit, thus you should
go to Build->create dstro kit and then follow the wizard.
If you have InstallShield it better to use,it more flexible!

  • Setup.exe from the companion cd (download) does not work !

    Hello,
I have download the Oracle Database 10g Companion CD Release 1 (10.1.0.2) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) in order to install http server, but when cliking on setup.exe,. nothing happens, tried on 2 machines witch has different configs, same thing !
Any idea, as my installation has to be finished.
    Jina.

    Jina,
Is there a space in the path from where you execute the instal.exe.
If so Use a path without spaces.
You can also try to start the setup.exe from a dos box.

  • Setup.exe from Boot Camp won't work with Windows Xp Home SP2

    Hi,
I just bought the great MacBook Pro. So I work over years in Windows it's absolutliy necessary to migrate my old System to MacBook. I succeeded in cloning my old installation completly to the MacBook and Windows is activated. when I start windows, of course no MacBook drivers are installed, so I have only a minimum of functionality. Now I want to start the BootCamp to install the drivers. But if I start "Setup.exe" it's ending immediately with: There were errors... before Boot camp could be initialized.
I downloaded the newest BootCamp (3.1) and start it, the program crashes!
I can't get it working!!! What have I to do - please help me!
I use Windows XP Home SP2.
    Thanks!

If you didn't try installing Boot Camp from your OS X disc, try that first.
From what you wrote it sounds like you somehow cloned your old install of windows over to a fresh partition. Depending on how you did this, the problem might lie here.
First, what version of OSX are you running?
If your MacBook Pro is new, it should come with Snow Leopard, which wouldn't explain the problem.
How exactly did you clone windows over?
Depending on how you cloned windows, your easiest solution might be to back up any files and applications you need from windows, remove the current Windows partition, and create a new partition and installation of Windows through Boot Camp on OSX. Normally Boot Camp should install its drivers after a successful installation of Windows.

  • How to create a setup.exe from a pure java program

i have some program using pure Java Swing.... i already created jar files to make it executable everytime you click on the icon... but i want to create a installer type like setup.exe just like in VB....
How on earth can I do that?!?
    Thanks!

    This is one...
    http://www.excelsior-usa.com/jet.html
And there are a lot more like jexe n stuff.
But look out. Only some convert it to pure native
form. The rest are only launchers - you would still
need a JRE to run yer program.
extremely sorry. Didnt read the post properly .Sorry

  • Trying to reinstall CS5.5 Master Collection from DVD media on Windows 7 64 bit - setup.exe fails due to msxml3.dll error PDApp message [FATAL] PIM - Failed to Create XML instance : DOMDocument40 ADXML::initWithXMLPath Error:80040154

If anyone is able to solve this they are a genius (or I am doing something very stupid!)
I am trying to reinstall CS5.5 Master Collection from DVD media on Windows 7 64 bit PC but setup.exe fails due to a msxml3.dll error.
Following a big bundle of recent Windows 7 updates, I started getting 'bad image' msxml3.dll error messages when opening any CS5.5 master collection program (Eg Premiere / Photoshop / Illustrator / Dreamweaver). Following advice on some threads here I tried uninstalling and then using the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool to clean up install, then reinstalling from my original DVD media.
Whenever I try using run setup.exe from installtion disc 1 the installing fails due to 'Missing files'. I have also tried dowloading trial versions and runing setup.exe fro mthe downloaded files but i still get the same message.
I have searched the forum and others have experienced this error but none of the solutions I have found seem to be working for me - as many seem to relate to download installations whereas I am installing from original DVD media (which worked fine before on the same PC)
These are the FATAL messages from the PDApp log
    12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] PIM - Failed to Create XML instance : DOMDocument40 ADXML::initWithXMLPath Error:80040154
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Could not initialize ADXML object
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Unable to initialize. Error parsing setup.xml file
The PDApp troubleshooting seems to indicate that this is caused by error in downloads but I am getting it with both original media DVD and downloads.
I have also tried using my logon (which has admin privileges) and under our main admin account - and I get the same errors.
Is a clean install of Windows 7 + CS5.5 my only option?
Any help / info / advice / solutions very much appreciated! I have spent the last 2 days trying to sort this out and seem to be getting nowhere.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply kglad - much appreciated.
I have already tried that option (along with downloading files) as it was one of the solutions mentioned on other threads, but that also failed.
    Any other ideas?

  • Re-Install CS2 on Win VISTA but setup.exe now does not respond

I successfully installed and ran my legal, registered CS2 Production Premium on two different Win VISTA 64 machines, first on my  original desktop, then my current laptop, which is what I now use.
Each time,  CS2 installed OK. I had learned the "trick" was to stop the installation  after the last program, before the suite proceeded to do the final  steps. If I failed to stop prior to those final steps, the error message  about registration occurred. If I stopped prior to the conclusion of  the installation, then each program worked fine.
HOWEVER...  I recently downloaded and installed CS5 demo, then removed CS5. I had uninstalled CS2 in preparation (because of disk space and potential conflicts). I cleaned the registry, as I also did after uninstalling CS5.
When  I went to re-install CS2 (using the original legal disks), now the setup.exe program DOES NOTHING. It  whirs when clicked, as if it's launching, then sits idle, not performing any tasks.  I've let it "try" for hours, but no results.
I have: clicked on the file from Windows Explorer, I have opened a command line window and run e:\>Setup.exe, I have even copied the disk to the desktop and tried to run Setup.exe from there. There is never an error message. There is only no activity whatsoever from setup.exe.
During the  time of the last successful CS2 installation and the current attempt to  install, there have been several Vista updates installed on the  machine.
So, I have successfully run CS2 on Vista 64,  but not since removing the CS5 demo. My system is a multi-core AMD 64-bit processor running Windows Vista Home Premium Build 6002 with all Microsoft updates applied. (And yes, having not had any paying  job in almost three years, I cannot figure out a way to fund the  upgrade...and, of course, Adobe has cut off support of any kind for  CS2.)
Does anyone have experience and a solution?

CS2 is completely unsupported under Vista and Win 7. 64 bit makes it even more difficult.
Unfortunately, you're on your own here. Best bet would be to upgrade to CS5 and you should take note of the fact that if you don't and you wait til CS6 ships you will be out of the upgrade loop altogether and will have to pay full price.

I'm trying to run the SQL Server R2 setup.exe, and all I get is a command window popping up briefly, then nothing.

I don't know what goes wrong as took my serial number on my profile from the adobe web site, same thing for the download of the software.
Does it means that the serial number provided was invalid for deploying ?
NB.: My goal is to deploy our Acrobat XI through SCCM in silent mode and I don't know if there is extra consideration for that.  For now it's only not working at the command line.
Another important point is that the install works great without customization !  If I just run the setup.exe from freshly extracted files and I use my serial number, everything is working fine.
    So what goes wrong ?

Thanks for the reply brogers_1 and Vinod Dbhal, you gave good hint.
I retried installing the initial package in French on a Windows 7 English and the software installed properly in French.
As I used to work with virtuals for those tests, I rolled back my virtual and redo my test installation with chosing to install it in English on my Windows 7 English and again the installation finished properly but I was surprised when I realized that even if I chose English as language, the software was running in French !
Of course I can change the language settings (in the edit-preferences-language) to follow the operating system witch is nice.
That gave me the cue I needed to know.  I started from scratch my customization with choosing only the French language in the "Application Languages" and I left the MUI Languages blank and saved the .mst
    I ran again the same command : msiexec /i  AcroPro.msi TRANSFORMS=AcroPro.mst /qb!
    And everything works fine.
NB.: As I used the .msi directly, of course I had to install the prerequirement Visual C++ 2010 first.  Otherwise the installation failed without any error message.
Thanks again to you for your good hint,
    Bob

Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) for RDBMS 8.1.x Hangs on Machines with Pentium 4 Processors ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Versions Affected ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oracle Universal Installer version 1.7.1.9.0 and earlier versions (bundled with products in 8.1.X CD packs). Platforms Affected ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any platform that uses the Intel Pentium 4 processor with Sun JRE and Symantec JIT will encounter this problem. Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 98 and NetWare operating systems are confirmed to be affected. Description ~~~~~~~~~~~ The Oracle Universal Installer hangs when installing Oracle 8.1.x Server and Client products on machines that use Sun JRE and Symantec JIT. Likelihood of Occurrence ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any Oracle Universal Installer 1.7.1.9.0 and earlier installation on a platform that uses the Intel Pentium 4 processor, with the Sun JRE and Symantec Just in Time Library (JIT) will encounter this problem. Possible Symptoms ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The failure is manifested in these ways: - The affected application simply terminates. - The installer hangs, quits, dies or disappears. - The hourglass appears, disappears and nothing else happens. Fix ~~~ 1. Obtain the OUI application (~15.3MBs) under patch number 1507768 in Metalink: a. Click Patches button b. Enter 1507768 in the Patch Number field c. Click Submit d. Download the patch 2. Unzip the patch to a temporary directory. 3. Uncompress the resulting Jar file (~20MBs). 4. Navigate to the following subdirectory under the temporary directory where the patch was unzipped and rename symcjit.dll cd <temporary_directory>\Disk1\stage\Components\oracle.swd.jre\1.1.7.30\1\DataFiles\Expanded\jre\win32\bin Rename symcjit.dll to symcjit.dll.old 5. Navigate to: cd\Disk1\install\win32 6. Run the setup.exe program from the current directory and install the OUI to your hard disk. 7. Use/Invoke this installed OUI from Start menu > Programs, to install Oracle 8.1.x and related products. Workarounds ~~~~~~~~~~~ Workaround 1: 1. Create a temporary directory on your server. 2. Copy the entire contents of the Oracle RDBMS Server CD to the temporary directory created in step 1. 3. Search the directory structure created in Step 1 for the existence of the filename symcjit.dll. 4. Rename each copy of the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old. 5. Run the setup.exe from the install\win32 directory (under the directory on your hard disk used in Step 1) and install Oracle 8.1.x and related products. Workaround 2: If you continue to experience any of the symptoms after performing Workaround 1, follow these steps: 1. Copy the contents of the \install directory on your CD-ROM to a temporary directory on your hard disk. 2. Search for all copies of the 'symcjit.dll' file both in and under the directory from Step 1, and rename them to 'symcjit.old'. 3. Navigate to the directory you created in Step 1, and open the 'oraparam.ini' file for editing. Please note this file is write-protected, and the properties of the file must be changed to allow writing before editing. 4. Change the JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS parameter to JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=-nojit -ms64m -mx128m 5. Save the oraparam.ini file. 6. Navigate to the win32 subdirectory, under the directory you usedin Step 1, and run the setup.exe program. If you have tried Workarounds 1 and 2 and still experience problems, please do the following: Workaround 3: 1. Navigate to: Start> Settings > Control Panel > System 2. Select the "Advanced" tab 3. Click the "Environment Variables" button 4. Highlight the PATH entry and click "Edit..." 5. Copy down the current PATH setting. 6. Remove any entries that refer to previous JRE directories Note: Care should be taken when editing the system path. Incorrect edits can prevent Windows or other applications from starting properly. 7. If any entries were removed, repeat Workaround 1 or 2. Patches ~~~~~~~ Patch 1507768 is available on Metalink, and should be installed using the Fix section of this article. • HP Photosmart B010 , Setup.exe doesn't run

Hello, i'm experiencing a software problem with a Photosmart B010,when I open the setup.exe(from CD, installer o even wizard installer),it runs in background forever(nothing shows, no app no errors), tried the unistall L3 method(http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01501548), nothing change, when i open the unistall bat a command prompt comes out, i press ENTER and it goes immediatly away, is it normal? If it is normal then where is the problem? Thank you
    Bye

    Hi,
Follow the steps below and check if that resolve the issue:
First open the Device Manager and expend the Processors tab.
If you have an AMD processor install teh following update and then try installing the HP software:
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL40390/oj-98352-1/HPAMDC50PATCH.exe
If you have any other processor (e.g. intel) the following steps will morelikely be relevan for a such:
    1. Open Mcafee software, from the Virus and Spyware Protection section click on Schedule and run scans. Click on Real time scanning and then on Turn Off. select Never and confirm by clicking the Turn Off button.
If you have any other security software disable it as well.
    2. Open the run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type %windir% and click on OK.
    3. Type hpoins*.dat into the top search bar, if there are any results rename the extention into old instead of dat. (e.g. hpoins1.old)
    4. Type hpwins*.dat into the top search bar, if there are any results rename the extention into old instead of dat. (e.g. hpwins1.old)
    5. Launch the Run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER into the Run dialog and click on OK.
    6. Launch the Run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /REGSERVER into the Run dialog and click on OK.
    7. Reboot your PC
    8. Run the installation file and check for any difference.
    9. Once you are done, be sure to open McAfee and re-activate Real Time Scanning.
Please let me know if those might help,
    Shlomi

  • Report Generation - Build an exe from a PC with different Office Version

    Hi,
I want to build an exe from a VI that uses Report Generation Toolkit. The application has to be deployed on several PCs that use Office 2000. During development phase I installed on my PC, Office 2000 and everything was ok. After I was done with it, I reinstalled Office 2007. So, the Report Generation Toolkit from my PC is for Office 2000 (it was installed when I had Office 2000 on my PC).
These days I had to fix some bugs from my application, I made a new exe but the part that generates Word reports (using RGT) is not working anymore - I received that error with -35...9935 (or something like this).
I tried to search for the problem and I found it: with exactly the same VI's (_Word Dynamic VIs.vi - for Office 2000) the invoke nodes from a PC with Office 2007 and a PC Office 2000 look different. For example in Word_Open_Document.vi, the invoke node Document is different for a PC with Office 2000 + RGT for 2000 and a PC with Office 2007 + RGT for Office 2000 (no mistake).
So, I've tried to copy the VI's from a PC with Office 2000 + RGT 2000 to my PC but I cannot build it because I get the error: There are some errors in _Word Dynamic VIs.vi (the invoke nodes do not fit).
Finally my question is: How can I build the exe on my PC: Office 2007 but with RGT for Office 2000??
    Thanks,
    Paul
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
Thank you for your advice. Can you please tell me what you want to say with the wrapper vi? I don't really understand what you mean.
By the way, I solved the problem. I discovered that the Invoke Nodes are updated based on the Object Library for the ActiveX control (in this case the MS Office). The data types are store in the msword9.olb (version 9 - for office 2000 in Office folder) and msword.olb (version 12 - for office 2007 also in Office folder). I tried to register the msword9.olb (using the regsvr32.exe) but it doesn't work for olb files - I need the ocx or dll. But, if I replace the msword.olb from Office 2007 with msword9.olb from Office 2000 everything work.
Ok, steps that have to be done:
    1. Install the RGT for Office 2000 on the PC
    2. DO NOT Change anything in _Word_Dynamic VIs.vi. When Office 2007 is installed the VI arrow should be broken (error in VI)
    3. Copy the msword9.olb from a system with Office 2000 (or your version) and copy it to your system with Office 2007 with the new name msword.olb. DO NOT FORGET to make a backup of the original MS Office 2007 file and to restore it at the end.
    4. After the new msword.olb is there, the _Word_Dynamic VIs.vi should have no error
    5. Build your exe application
    6. Restore the old msword.olb
    7. ENJOY your life !
I hope this is useful also for somebody else.
