Building ADF  application Using Maven

I have a requirement to build the Adf application using Maven.
My JDeveloper version is 11.1.1.3 and I imported the Maven plugins.
When I create the new Fusion application , pom.xml is getting created in model project but not in viewcontroller project. Any reason for that?
Please help me to point to the right article and example to build Adf application using Maven?

User,
While you can build an ADF app using Maven, it's nowhere near easy or automated in terms of getting started. There are a few people who are doing it, but they have invested a lot of effort including:
* loading the ADF libraries into their corporate repositories
* re-structuring their ADF projects to match the Maven directory standard (or customizing their POMs)
* Hand-building POMs for their ADF apps
Most or all of the people that I know who are doing this are doing all of these things without the benefit of the Maven integration provided in JDeveloper. If you have a search of this forum and the [url https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/adf-methodology]ADF EMG, you can find plenty of discussions about this. There's no "step-by-step" guide that I know of, and it will definitely take you quite a bit of effort to get started. The Maven integration in JDeveloper is still in developer preview mode, and in my opinion, isn't ready for prime time - at least not with respect to ADF projects.

  • Build Automation for ADF Application using Jenkins CI

    Hi
I am trying to implement automated builds( creating .ear file) and deployments for ADF Applications using Jenkins. I am using Ant Build Scritps using OJDEPLOY on Jenkins.
but the build scripts does not create .ear file at the path mention in the outputfile parameter.
    Please help. Thanks,

Have you tried to call ojdeploy directly instead of using the ojdeploy task?
I remember that the ant task has had some bugs. You can use the exec task and execute ojdeploy directly. Then you don't even need to include the path elements as you use the jdev project which includes all the information.
    ojdeploy.executable=path_to_your_jdev_installation/jdev/bin/ojdeploy.exe
        <target name="ojdeploy" description="execute ojdeploy">
                <exec executable="${ojdeploy.executable}" dir="."
                    output="${log.filename}" failonerror="true">
                    <arg value="-buildfile"/>
                    <arg value="${build.filename}"/>
                </exec>
        </target>

  • How to build ear files for ADF application using Ant task

How to build ear files for ADF applications using Ant. The ojdeploy ant task can not find application-level deployment profiles. I am trying to automated build and release for ADF application.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Timo
    Thanks for your reply.
I have successfully created ear file using ojdeploy on jenkins. however when am trying to auto deploy using WLDeploy ant task am getting the following
    error :
weblogic.application.ModuleException: :oracle.mds.config.MDSConfigurationException:MDS-01335: namespace "/oracle/webcenter/quicklinks/scopedMD" mapped to metadata-store-usage "WebCenterFileMetadataStore" but its definition was not found in MDS configuration
Please advise how to handle this.
As am a newbie to ADF, could you please advise if it is possible for the ADF application deployments can be automated for different environments using jenkins due to this MDS dependencies.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks

  • How to remotely deploy adf application using ant script

Please suggest some pointer on how to remotely deploy adf application using ant script.
I have created automatic inbuild ant script using jdevloper and ojdeploy that create a war file into my adf application deploy folder.
Now i want my war to be deploy remotely on weblogic server.
Is there any inbuld functionality provided by jdeveloper for same.
Can any one please share build.xml for adf application for deploying application remotely.
I try to use wlserver but not much success.
    Thanks in advance.

  • I want to build android application using existing desktop dimension fla files. so for this I am resizing existing desktop dimension fla files to mobile dimension files but during resizing some files are resizing properly but most of the files the content

    problem definition:
To build android application using existing desktop dimension fla fies , I am resizing that files to mobile dimension and publishing with air fo android 16  . In this process some fla's are not resizing properly I mean the content is not matching with stage
In one post I saw that by copying frames in movie clip we can adjust with stage . I did this and made an application but the swf's which are following the movieclip resized swf are going out of stage
development tool : adobe flash professsional cc
extension : air for android 16
    original file dimension: 800 * 600 px
new dimension required is : 2650 * 1600 px ( to get full screen view)
anyone please suggest me to solve this problem
when I resized using copy frames in movie clip the output swf is coming with white screen . If I played with package it coming properly but the files which are following this are going out of stage

  • Building java applications using UML

    Hi all
I want to get experience for building java applications using UML.
Pls advice what is the best text book should I purchase??
    thanks
    madura

I do not use UML to auto-generate codes either. Take a look at Martin Fowler's bliki on some quite good views about UML: http://www.martinfowler.com/bliki/uml.html
What I do use UML for:
    1. To visualise the system being built during the analysis and design phases - both to help improve understanding and to keep the stakeholders happy.
    2. To reverse-engineer existing code that's weak on both design documents and code design. Makes understanding the code easier.
    3. To highlight areas in existing code that might benefit from the application of design patterns.
As for how UML converts to Java code, the main diagrams are the Class Diagram and the Interaction Diagrams - Collaboration and Sequence. These diagrams translate to code very well.
    Hth.

  • Packaging ADF application using scripts

How i can package a adf application in ear using ant / maven script?

It's common requirement in this forum to post which version of JDev you're using.
If you're using JDev 11g, look for the ojdeploy documentation on creating ADF Libraries.
For general EAR/WAR construction consult publicly available Ant documentation.
Unfortunately I can't comment on Maven, though I note a number of bloggers are currently working on it's integration with JDev 11g: http://biemond.blogspot.com/2010/05/deploy-to-weblogic-with-maven.html

  • Error while deploying adf application using ant script or jdevloper IDE

    Hi All,
While deploying adf application into cluster weblogic server I am getting strange error though my weblogic server is working fine as I checked it from weblogic console. Seems that there is some heap memory issue but don’t know the exact cause as it work perfectly if I restart the server.
Same error i get when i try to deploy application from Jdeveloper IDE though it created the server connection successfully.
Please help me by provided valuable tips to overcome this problem or any special tips to optimize weblogic server for ADF.

Well, I guess you have a problem here. Check http://multikoop.blogspot.de/2012/12/deploying-adf-applications-into-oracle.html and from this
    >
Note: In its current stage Oracle Java Cloud Service runs WebLogic Server 10.3.6 with the appropriate Runtime ADF 11.1.1.6. Deployment of ADF 11gR2 Applications is currently not supported. Beside this limitation some ADF Features are not supported on the Oracle Cloud. According to the Oracle Cloud Documentation it is not supported to use the following ADF features
    ADF Desktop Integration
    ADF mBean
ADF MDS (Seeded customizations or cross-session personalization)
    ADF Mobile
ADF Active Data Services (=> No real-time ADF Web Apps in Oracles Cloud)
ADF Business Components services interfaces (web services) or events
ADF Data Controls for BI, Essbase, BAM, and JMX
Further there are some restrictions which are good to know I think
No Java Mail API (=>Sending Mails is prohibited)
No File system access by deployed applications (=>Writing files is prohibited)
No Direct use of Oracle JDBC Driver APIs
    No Java Message Service (JMS)
Max Size for deployment archive 95MB

I hope for you that the information from the blog has changes in the meantime (blog is from end of last year). Check the current doc for the cloud ...

  • Authenticate ADF application using adf security wizard against LDAP OID

I have an adf application which i intend to authorise using LDAP. For now , i have actually hand coded in java for authenticating the users of my application. Using JNDI I directly connect to LDAP and authenticate users. However , recently it came to my notice that i can also do that using ADF sercurity wizard , but i am unable to do so. which securing the ADF application ,no where in the wizard LDAP configuration is mentioned. do i have to change some file manually ? i have no idea on how to proceed on that.

i have setup wls , making th OIDAuthentication as Sufficient. but i dont know how to configure from ADF side so that it can authenticate against LDAP. when i try the ADF sercurity wizard option , it tells me to create new Roles . Is there any way where i can import the ldap credentials to the security wizard ..?

  • Auto deploy ADF application using Ant

    Hi
I am trying to write an Ant script, which compile application, create domain, configure domain, boot server and deploy oracle ADF application. Please advice how to do this.
    I am using Jdeveloger 11g and weblogic 11 g
    Thanks
    Anbu

    Anbu,
    that's quite a task ;-)
All this can be done. Essentially you can use ojdeploy to compile a project and deploy it to an ear. You can use WLST to write scripts to create and configure a domain. A shell script then can start the nodemanager and all other servers you need (e.g. the new domain you created). The last part is to deploy the app.
Beside the ojdeploy all this is beyond this forum :-(
For WLST look in {forum:id=598} and the docs of cause.

  • Monitoring ADF Application using EM ?

    Hi,
What information can we gather for a particular ADF application which is deployed as a Jar ? Like the response time for each of the application page & break down of the request to each ADF page in an Application. Are there are references available ?
    Thanks & Regards,
    NC

    Hi,
I have created web service with data control by providing this WSDL
http://SERVER_NAME/PWA_INSTANCE/_vti_bin/psi/project.asmx?WSDL and some objects and service methods are genreated. Service method has parameters.
How I can use this parameters of service methods to read the data from sql server database and how I can write data back into databases.
When I am dropping this parameter as ADF Parameter form is just input text box without any values. Please give me some direction or links for code I can use to implement the application.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
    Thank you,
    Savan Shah.

  • Building J2EE Applications using JBOSS and ECLIPSE 3.0

    Hi all
i am trying to deploy a J2EE application using JBOSS3.2.5 and Eclipse 3.0.
I have written the EJB bean, home, remote and a test JSP page. Can someone tell me the exact procedure...step by step ways to deploy the JBOSS server and run my application.
    My package structure is
    MyProject
    ejb
    client
    Servlet.java
    server
    Bean.java
    shared
    home.java
    remote.java
please tell the various jar files that i must include. Kindly give information about the directory structure, the xml file details and the WAR file generation
    Thankz in advance
    Arun :)

That is a lot of stuff! At a basic level, you can create an EAR file and put it in the JBoss auto-deployment directory. In the EAR file you should have a WAR file for the web component and a JAR file for the EJB component. And inside each archive there should be a valid deployment descriptor that contains configuration data for the component. When you start up JBoss, the application will be deployed and accessible via web browser, or there will be error messages written to the server log.

  • I want to build an application using web camera "Logitech" For that what are the steps  I had to take?? Help me...

    EID [email protected]

    Hi,
Do you mean that you want your application to send and recieve the audio/video data online. If it is so, I think you can write applets and use them in the application. Or you can also use Macromedia Flash to do the same in a better way. For further info about Flash player please visit
    http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about.
And as a reference please once visit www.mlb.com, which has some video library running on iAS.
Hope this might have given you some poiters that help you. Should you have any further queries please get back to our software forum.
    Thanks and All the best,
    Rakesh.

  • JDeveloper Tutorial: Building ADF Applications

I completed the workshop: customer maintenance scenario and when I unit tested the pages, the create, and update processes worked as designed, however, when I tested the "Remove" button on the "\browseCustomer" jsp, it displayed the "\sure" page as designed, however, when I selected the "Yes" button, there was no response, i.e. no acknowledge message, and no deletion of record.
I checked the solution in the jsp's and the onDelete method in the SureAction class.
Is there a complete listing of the solution, or a bug in the solution.
    Thank you in advance,
    -rich

Just tried (for reference Part 3 of the tutorial is [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_51/jdtut_11r2_51_3.html]here).
Only difference is that I was using JDev 11.1.2.1 - it worked fine for me.
