Building installer requires CD read

Why is it when I build an installer it prompts me to load the distribution and driver CDs? Shouldn't all this be available on my hard drive already? See attached screenshot.

  • Building installer requires CD named by project

    Hi,
I'm trying to build an installer which contains some additional packages, like DAQmx, NI-CAN. It runs on my mashine but as I moved the project to another PC and tried to build it, it keeps asking me a disk which is in the name of the Installer.
I have all the "developer suite" disks but don't (and won't) have this disk.
How can I ignore this dialog and use the "developer suite" disk instead?

    Hi,
thanks for your reply! I paste 2 pictures here to show how terrible is the error:
Error 1: As you see, the buld rejected my CD. All the CDs I've tried returns the same error.
Error 2: Then I used my Installer which is built on my laptop as reference. It turns out to be another error saids the version is not the right one.
I will also provide you some infomation why I have make it so complicated:
I've installed the LV2010 on my mashine and took the source code from 8.6 for updating. Naturally the code was converted to  2010 (sp1) format. I made an exe on my laptop and runs without problems on the mashines with developer suite. But on a PC with LV-Runtime and all the "plug-ins" (NI-CAN, DAQmx) windows always shows an error at start-up and promt to close the program. However, the program runs successfully on the mashine, if I ignore the close program dialog.
I suspect that, the SP1 makes the error without the run-time. So I tried to make an EXE on the desktop.
On the desktop has the LV2010 (without sp1) developer suite. It builds the exe, which works perfectly on every PC (on which the run-time, NICAN and DAQmx are installed). But when I tried to build an installer, it fails and shows the error you've seen above...
It is posible to install the SP1 on the desktop but I don't want to take the risk right now!

  • Project Build Installer Properties Slow to load, (Maximum vi size)

I have a LabVIEW Project with 450Mbytes of source code, and drivers.  The Project was originality in LabVIEW 2009.  I upgraded to LabVIEW 2011.
Now the Project Build > Installer Properties Menu is about 10x slower than was in LV 2009.
I've done a mass compile, resolved all error messages in the Project, yet 2011 is still 10x slower than 2009.
The 2011 Project will build an functional exe, and a functional installer given enough time (like 15 minutes).  During that time the computer is locked up, no other applications are functional.
The Computer is XP, dual Core, 2.5GHz, 4Gbytes Ram, 4Gbyte Page File.
The NI Support Desk is saying (quote)   >>>>   seem that the requirements for LabVIEW 2011 are different than the requirements for LabVIEW 2009    <<<<<
    Suggestions ???

Does the procedure take 30 minutes or 15 minutes (first post)? Also, what is it about the installer build spec that requires further modification after you modify your exe build spec? If the exe is included in the installer, the installer build will automatically re-preview the included exe to get an updated list of files to include next time the installer is built. So unless you need to modify something about the installer spec and not the included source files, no edits would normally be required after changing your exe (or other included source files).
Keep in mind, the previewing of the exe will take about as long as it takes to build the exe -- it's computing a list of the files that would be built without actually creating the files. A data point of interest is how much longer it takes your exe to build, comparing 2009 to 2011. Does your exe take 10 times longer to build in 2011? Longer exe build times mean longer preview operations in Installer Builder.
Another thing to check is which distributions you're including on the Additional Installers page. Are more distributions being included in the 2011 build? Did the distributions change significantly in size since 2009?

  • Error -12 when building installer LV2012

When I try to build an installer from the project menu I immediatly get en error -12. (see attached)
This has happened on several different projects. I can make an .EXE, Zip file and distribution build but not installer. I read the "Why Does My Distribution Build Fail with Various Errors?"  article suggested but I admit I don't understand the proceedure or if this pertains to my problem at all.
    Thanks

    Alina,
Thanks for the tip. I checked out that forum and that is the same problem. Now the question is the same as what he asked. How do I reinstall App Builder? Older versions had it as a seperate CD. 2012 comes on 1 DVD and there's nothing on the install menu that mentions App Builder. I'm guessing I'll just have to reinstall LV as a whole.
    Thanks for all the help

  • Multiple language installer for Adobe Reader

I need a compressed multiple language installer for Adobe Reader to install with my software.  Is one available?

When we requested a license to distribute the multi-language version of Adobe Reader with our software, we recieved the following link to a download:
    "For full installers: "
"To download the English language version of Adobe Reader 9 with Acrobat.com in compressed .exe format, click here."
When you click on the link, you get a single file (AdbeRdr11006_en_US.exe).  This is an installation for english only.  I am looking for a single .exe file for a multi-language installation.
The link you provided above is to a .zip file that must be extracted and then run.  This requires additional steps in our installation process.  We were hoping you have a single installation file to prevent these additional steps.

  • Fail installation of Acrobat Reader

After start running the installer of acrobat reader 9, the following message occurs and fail to install.
    The message is:
"The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installaion
is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a
network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a
    problem with this package."
And there are three option to choose: cancel /  retry / ignore
When I choose "retry", no respond; when I choose "ignore", a message appeared: FDI server error
And I have tried other language downloader or even an older version like 8.0, the above message appears again.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

At the command prompt use this:
    msiexec /unregister
    msiexec /regserver
    after  try reinstall.

I agree with the comment about a corrupt download. Less of a problem with DSL and Cable modems, but it still occurs. For future help with Reader, use the Reader forum at http://forums.adobe.com/community/adobe_reader_forums/adobe_reader.

  • Installer requires Admin Privilege to run

I'm a new user on a Macbook. Its been about 20 years since I last was on an apple. I need help, I'm trying ton install a game on my laptop. When I click on the installer to install the game a window pops up saying "installer requires Admin privilege to run" and the only option is to quit. What do I need to do to get this game installed?
    Thanks so much!!

/Applications/Utilities/Disc Utility - a very handy tool in all sorts of situations.
I'm most surprised that a new account with admin permissions wasn't able to perform the install I'm at a loss what might be causing that to be honest ... maybe the repair permissions on the drive will sort it out, perhaps the entire folder has had write access removed somehow. You could select the destination folder location and Get Info on it and look at the permissions settings at the bottom, does it allow any user to Write there or is it Read only I wonder ?

  • Why do I get the message "The installer requires admin priviledges to run" when trying to install from a DVD?

I am trying to install software from a DVD on my Mac Mini, When I click on the installer I get the message "The installer requires admin priviledges to run." I have admin priviledges when I look at the account info in Sytem Preferences. ANyone have an idea what to do about this?

It's a defective installer. If it needs elevated privileges to run, it should prompt for an administrator password. Since the installer is defective, you can assume that whatever it installs -- or would install, if it worked -- is also defective.

  • Why do i get a "codec installation required" message?

Why do i get a "codec installation required" message when trying to play avi files? Im using QT7 on a mac, v10.6.7?, Why do i get a "codec installation required" message when trying to play avi files? Im using QT7 on a mac, v10.6.7?

Why do i get a "codec installation required" message when trying to play avi files?
Probably because you do not have an audio and/or video codec used for compressing/decompressing data in the AVI file. AVI, like MOV, are just file containers capable of holding many different kinds of data. The originator of the AVI file (Microsoft) dropped its official support of this file type more than a decade ago but its popularity with Windows users lingers on. Unfortunately, with few exceptions, the compression formats commonly used in the AVI file container may or may not still be in use. Some were never transcoded for use on the Mac platform. Others are so old that they have never been updated for use under OS X. Of thise transcoded for OS X use, some have not been updated for Intel based platforms. Thus, while QT supports the container itself, it does not natively support the third-party and/or proprietary codecs used, many of which, are now classed as "legacy" codecs and are out of date in terms of today's video compression technology.

  • Bug in the flex builder installer

I found a bug in the Flex builder installer, while someone
tried to install Flex on top of our EasyEclipse eclipse distro.
I am making a post here since I could not find a way to
report a bug anywhere on the Adobe web site :-\
So the bug is that the installer is looking for an eclipse
installation that is packaged exactly like the Eclipse platform,
but also specifically checks for the presence of features named
    org.eclipse.rcp and org.eclipse.platform.
Yet the flex features themselves do not care about other
features only about the platform plugins to be present, as it
    shoudl be.
It is considered a bad practice by the Eclipse platform team
to have a dependecy on features, and it is recommended to use
    instead plugin depdencies.
    See
    http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Version_Numbering#Versioning_features
As a result, Flex cannot be installed anywhere but on a vanilla
    Eclipse.
EasyEclipse does not ship the base features of the Eclipse
platform, yet all the Flex plugins dependencies are statisfied.
See our forum for more details:
    http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3982548

Getting back to the original message in this thread, I want
to post an update about what I learned on digging deeper. The Flex
Builder 2.0.1 Plug-in version does not require a vanilla eclipse to
install into, but it does impose some minimal constraints. Before
release, we installed FB 2.0.1 Plug-in successfully with several
customized Eclipse configurations, including RSA7 and BEA, each of
which uses a different folder configuration for its product
    extension point.
I took a close look at the dependency list for our FB 2.0.1
features, and these have been plugin-based dependencies all along,
not feature dependencies. I understand why it might appear as if
they're feature-based though, because our installer requires that
the feature named org.eclipse.platform be present.
We have the installer look for that feature, because that's
the way Eclipse's update manager reports what's already installed
and available. Eclipse's commandline API for updates only provides
    Feature info, not Plugin info:
    http://help.eclipse.org/help32/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.platform.doc.isv/reference/mis c/update_standalone.html
The FB Plug-in installer checks for the existence of
org.eclipse.platform so that we have some assurance that the
version of eclipse proposed is at least version 3.1.2 or higher. In
our next release, we'll explore alternate way of gleaning this same
information, with the intention of allowing plug-in installs into
products such as EasyEclipse that don't include any Eclipse
    features in their products.

  • Offline installation of Adobe Reader 11 in Greek Language

    Hi,
I have to prepare an offline installation guide with the packages to install Adobe Reader 11 with several languages.
I found all of the required packages (e.g. AdbeRdr11000_de_DE.exe, AdbeRdr11000_en_US.exe, AdbeRdr11000_tr_TR.exe etc.) but one in Greek.
Where can I find the offline installation of Adobe Reader for Greek Language?
    Regards,

    Thank you for reply Pat.
I did see v.10 of Acrobat in Greek but I really need v. 11 to be consistent. I also checked the MUI version of v.11 and it does not have Greek either.
Did Acrobat stop to support Greek Language?
    Regards,

  • Installer: Installation requires Windows XP

    Hi,
when creating an installer with Win XP and LV 2009, I can check the box for requirements: Win 2000 or higher.
But, when trying to run the setup.exe on a Win 2000 system, the error message: This installation requires Windows XP pops up.
    Any help?
    Thx in advance,
    Thomas
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You should make a verbose log, and test my last tip (also combined with my first tip) here http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Win2000/m-p/1238020#M524213 I do not have any Win2000 systems any more so I can not test it. I suspect it is the installer system itself that require windows XP
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

  • This installer requires admin privileges to run

I'm trying to install a new Application (ViaCAD 2D/3D). I get the message "This installer requires admin privileges to run" with no option to enter admin password.
Thing is, I am clearly the Admin user with all privs.
Searched a lot of forums and tried a lot of ideas... but to no avail. Prior installations proceeded without error. Of course, the manufacturer support simply blamed Apple and closed the support question. Console log shows no errors.
This one has me totally stumped (and I have 20+ years admin experience).

    Update:
The application installed on another system running 10.4. On the offending system, I tried another Admin account, ran repair permissions from Utilities, made sure Admin had R/W privs on Apps folder, moving the .dmg file to the Applications folder, did a reboot, searched for a VidCad plist file. Out of ideas.

  • Does not represent a valid JavaFX Scene Builder installation

Selected location ...JavaFX Scene Builder 1.1 does not represent a valid JavaFX Scene Builder installation
Anyone else seen/get this error in Netbeans 7.3 Beta2 when they try to attach Scene Builder in the options screen?
    Is there a work around?

My guess is that you run on Windows: the interoperability between NB 7.3 and SceneBuilder 1.1 on this OS has been fixed a little after NB 7.3 Beta 2. If you use the current daily NB 7.3 Developer Build it will solve your issue.
