Building NLE system - HD setup clarifications

Hey guys,
I'm about to build a new system in order to get rid of my Q9550.
I've been reading Harm's website a lot, in order to find a good compromise between performances and price.
I mostly edit with heavy DSLR or AVCHD codecs on Premiere CS6 soon to be upgraded to CC, and some AVC-Intra multicam (up to 5) projects.
The biggest project I've had was about 500GB, usually I work with 60 to 100GB project at a time.
Every clip usually gets about 4 or 5 layers of effects (colorista, misfire grain/vignette, twitch etc.) before exporting.
The system I've in mind so far is based on Harm's budget warrior low-end:
CPU: 4930K
MB: P9X79-E WS
GC: GTX660 2GB
(PSU, CASE etc will be adequate)
First question would be about the RAM.
I'm looking at 4x8GB (cosidering the possibility of expanding it to 64GB total in future) but which frequency should I use?
1866mhz or 2133mhz. I've only seen RAMs that seems to me gaming-oriented rather than WS oriented - should I worry about that? Any particular suggestion?
The second is about the HD setup.
I've read a lot about RAID systems. I'm trying to avoid a RAID controller to save up money, and I've came up with this instead:
OS+Programs+Pagefile: SSD 256GB (I already have this)
Media Cache: SSD 120GB
Projects: SSD 120GB
Preview + Exports: SSD 256GB
Media files: HD 2x2TB in RAID 0
Backup: External e-SATA HHDs
Every SSD is 500Mb/s read/write. With this configuration I'd spend around 600euro in storage (backup included), and I'll have a 500MB/s system, with 275 MB/s media files HDs.
I haven't seen an hypotesys like mine around, so I'm wondering: what I've thought wrong?
I feel like I'm overlooking something here.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks a lot!
Michele

...be aware that the new Haswell E, ( enthusiast) CPU is coming out later this year.....if you can hold out until the 4th quarter of 2014....you may want to wait.....the new features and performance increase will BE SIGNIFICANT !!!  Up to 8 physical cores, (16 theads), Quad channel system memory, on board PCI generation 3, larger caches, and a new chipset allowing ten 6Gb/sec. SATA III ports to be on the motherboard. THAT is what I AM doing !!!!....WAITING for that......the 4930K is tied to the "old" technology of only two 6Gb/sec. SATA III ports and a slower memory system and motherboard. You may have more high speed storage options with this new chip and MOBO... WITHOUT having to go to an expensive RAID solution !!! Maybe the NVidia 780ti will be ON SALE by then !!!

  • Capturing using a system-based setup vs. project-based setup

Trying to build a library of my 50 DV tapes on an external 4T hard drive and I am supposing that I need a system-based setup instead of a project-based setup during capture.  Since my Adobe Premiere Pro SC6 Classroom in a Book tells me to check with my system administrator what should I do when I am the system administrator and don't know what to do?

    1)  Create a folder on your storage system.
    2) Create a new Premiere Project, saved to that same folder. Make sure that scratch disc are set to "same as project"
    3) Capture tapes.
You may re-organize tape's files after closing Premirere, or create a separate sub-folders and projects for each tape to begin with, depending on your needs.

    Hi,
    Q. Is it possible to setup the solution manager -above mentioned tasks without Ides system ?
    A. Yes.
    Check with links for
    1.Early watch alert
This process helps you to identify potential problems early, avoid bottlenecks, and monitor the performance of your ABAP and JAVA systems and your most important business processes, regularly, automatically and effectively. The data collection infrastructure comprises the ABAP Service Data Control Center and the JAVA function module Data Provider. The SAP EarlyWatch Alert in the SAP Solution Manager is a service provided by SAP.
To be able to use it, you have:
maintained the non-ABAP systems correctly in the system landscape maintenance (transaction SMSY)
RFC u2013 Connections between: and an RFC u2013 Connections established.
your satellite systems and the SAP Solution Manager system
SAP Solution Manager and the SAP Service Marketplace
Solution Manager system and Solution Manager Diagnostics
Cf: Solution Manager IMG (transaction SPRO).
checked the availability of the tools required for the SAP Service sessions (add-on ST-A/PI), with the report RTCCTOOL.
activated Alert Monitoring and set-up the Automatic Session Manager (ASM) in the Service Data Control Center (SDCCN) of your satellite systems, for all SAP satellite systems and the central SAP Solution Manager of your solution
set-up your systems in a solution landscape in the SAP Solution Manager
    configured Solution Manager Diagnostics
    2.System Monitoring
The system monitoring in the SAP Solution Manager is, as described above, like a system-wide central CCMS. It can also contain the central CCMS (CEN) of satellite systems. These CENs can then monitor other components.
The graphical display in the SAP Solution Manager gives you access to the alerts of all systems in a solution. You can go to the local or central CCMS of the satellite systems.
The system proposes the most important alerts in the CCMS monitor collection, according to SAP experience, and their alert thresholds, for each system in the solution, in the system monitoring Session. You can activate or deactivate these alerts. The connection between the local CCMS and the SAP Solution Manager allows you to maintain the alert thresholds directly in the SAP Solution Manager, overwriting the values in the local CCMS.
    3.Central System Administration
You activate the customizing for business processes in your solution, in the Business Process MONITORING session in the SAP Solution Manager. A monitoring tree element (MTE), or a monitor collection, u201EBPMu201C of several monitoring objects, is created in the local or central (CEN) CCMS of the satellite system.
The data is collected for the monitoring types of the business process monitoring in contrast to system monitoring, as follows:
    ● The system collects performance (dialog transactions), posting cancellations (V1 and V2) and u201EOther CCMSu201C and interface data, in the local CCMS of the satellite systems.
    ● The system collects background processing, application list, application monitors, delivery lists, and document size data, in the central SAP Solution Manager CCMS.
The SAP Solution Manager system copies the data from the local CCMS.
The graphical display in the SAP Solution Manager simplifies access to the alerts for the business processes, business process steps or the interfaces between the systems in a solution. You can go to the local CCMS of the satellite systems.
The connection between the local CCMS and the SAP Solution Manager allows you to maintain the alert thresholds directly in the SAP Solution Manager. These overwrite the values in the local CCMS.
    4.Business Process Monitoring
The system and business process monitoring (including interface monitoring) in the SAP Solution Manager, both use the Computing Center Management System (CCMS) (transaction RZ20) architecture. This means that system alerts which occur in the local CCMS, are passed to the SAP Solution Manager via RFC connections between the SAP Solution Manager and the satellites. The system shows these alerts in a graphic or in Sessions. You can also handle the alerts centrally, without having to go to the local CCMS of the satellite systems.
You can see the alerts from several systems in a solution landscape in the SAP Solution Manager, in a graphical overview, in contrast to the local CCMS of the SAP Solution Manager satellite systems. This is the view of a central CCMS (CEN). You can also monitor non-SAP systems in a central CCMS (CEN) of a satellite system

  • Is it possible to import an EDL from Canopus Edius NLE System?

I'm trying to import an EDL from Canopus Edius NLE System and every time
I try to import the EDL I get an error message saying Badly Formatted EDL.
When I open the EDL with TextEdit its says it's a BVE-9100 list. Is there something that I'm doing wrong? Should the person creating the list saved it as a CMX 3600 list instead?
    Patch2000

I got a new EDL that was CMX 3600 and I still get an error message saying
Badly formatted EDL. I looked in the FCP Manual it said something about
changing the format from RTF text files to plain text document. I tried that but the when I went to import the revised EDL it was greyed out and not selectable.
If anybody has some advice it would be really appreciated.

  • Signing my application in a Continuous build/integration system

I have a Mac OS X app and I recently obtained a digital certificate (Developer ID Application) to sign this app. I have the following questions about signing this app -
Can I specify a particular certificate as an input to codesign so that it is not installed in keychain? So that in my environment (Continuous build/integration system), any available Mac could be used to sign my app?
If not, then can I install/uninstall a certificate in keychain on a machine on the fly?
    Thanks!

You will probably get a faster answer in the developer forum.

  • Resources to Build PC System?

I have been reading the forums here on building your own system.  On one hand, I am inspired to do this ... on the hand, it sounds daunting.
Can anyone recomend a good resource for instructions?  I'm guessing you'd mostly follow each manufacturer's instructions?
I'm fairly techy ... but have never done anything close to this.
Does this ehow resource look like something good to follow?

  • System DSN setup

I installed Oracle8i Enterprise Server 8.1.6 Release 2 on W2K Advanced Server. I logged in to SQLPlus as system/manager and created a single table (Userid). I am using Oracle ODBC Driver 8.01.06.00 (must have been installed with the 8i Enterprise Edition?)From the trace it is clear that it is not picking up the password. The error is "ORA-01005 - null password given;logon denied". But I have configured the ODBC System DSN setup with Service name=o8ibegin and UserID=system/manager and Data Source Name=SiLicBkr. My IIS (ISAPI DLL) application uses MFC Odbc Classes with DSN=SiLicBkr and works fine with MS SQL Server and MS ACCESS. Any one can tell me where and how the password should be specified to the Oracle ODBC driver? Obviously being IIS app, password prompting at connect time is not an option!
    Thanks,
    Ganesh ([email protected])

Hi Justin, thanks for the prompt reply. I am still having problems with your first suggestion (I did not try the second option to do with registry). You mention a 'connect string', I assume this is to be entered in the Service field (because it does not accept such a string in Data Source Name field)? I have SiLicBkr in Data Source Name field, system in UserID field and I have tried different things for the Service Name field such as "DBQ=o8ibegin;PWD=manager" and also "DBQ=o8ibegin;PWD=manager;DSN=SiLicBkr". You may note, in your reply you missed out the service name "o8ibegin" altogether. After talking to others, I was told to try DBQ=o8ibegin in the connect string as shown above for service name. Now I get ORA-12154 TNS could not resolve service name...error. I may also mention, others told me to use Net Easy .. to specify connect string, but the closest thing I have is Net8 configuration assistant and while it shows o8ibegin, it does not provide any way for me to specify the connect string you mentioned! Any help will be appreciated. I have carefully looked at your online help in the ODBC administration setup, but not much luck.
    Thanks,
    Ganesh([email protected])

The UserID field in the Driver Setup screen should be just the userid (system), not the userid/password (system/mananger)
There are two ways to specify the password. First, your connect string can be "DSN=SiLicBkr;PWD=manager".
Second, you can add a registry entry "Password" with the string value "manager" at \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\odbc\ODBC.INI\SiLicBkr\. Obviously, the former is the preferred solution.
It has been our feeling that allowing the password to be specified in the driver setup is generally a poor decision because of the security considerations. Since anyone at the machine can view the DSN configuration, exposing the password could allow users much more access to data than intended. Passwords that are compiled as part of an application, on the other hand, are much more difficult to achieve.

  • Need advice on alternatives to building a system

My PowerPC Mac FCP/6 system is nearing its end of life, and so I’m moving to a PC and Premiere.  I don’t have the time or skill to build a system from scratch, and though I know I’ll pay more than doing it myself, the cost/benefit is acceptible.  I have a lot of gear that can move over, including a Kona LHe for HD/SDI out, plus dual monitors, numerous drives and other peripherals, etc.
In terms of the type of work I do, it’s usually light on motion graphics, but I do transcode and grade regularly.
I’ve looked at the HPZ400 workstations, just wondering if this is the best route to go, or if there are other more cost effective towers I should be looking at?  I’ve seen a couple of towers I could pick up at newegg and add a quadro 4000 to, but don’t really feel like I know enough to pull the trigger on one. I see that the conversations here are predominantly build-oriented, but hopefully someone can offer up some direction, which would be much appreciated.

  • Building a system for the first time

I recently posted a few weeks back about buying a system from either Dell or HP http://forums.adobe.com/thread/732545?tstart=0.  I quickly learned that those systems were not going to fit my need based on my budget.  So, I decided after researching components that I will build a computer by hand for the first time.  I am still operating on a budget of around $1000, but I'm giving the budget a bit of flexibility so I don't limit my options.  I am a hobbyist who only has experience using Power Director on my laptop, but I had a lot of fun editing for the first time and I want to step up my game.  With the new system, I plan to use adobe premiere cs5 and after effects.  I will capture my video from either an HD Helmet cam or HD flip format is  MPEG-4 AVC/H.264.  So where I need help is selecting the right things to optimize my performance.  The following is a list of items I'm looking with their prices.  Please help me decide what will be right for me.  Open to any combo of suggestions or comments. Thanks!
    Processor
    Intel i7 930 $200 microcenter
    Intel i7 950 $230 microcenter
I don't know if I want overclock yet, but it sounds like a good idea.  $30 for the upgrade to the i7 950 seems pretty good. ro do I use the money elsewhere?
    Motherboard
    GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R $210
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128423
Seems like a good mobo. Are there any features that this board lacks that I should look for in another board? Also, newegg offers significant deals on "open box" products.  Is this a good way to go?
    Ram
I have a few questions for this selection.  I've currently budgeted approximately $250 for ram.  I'm looking at going with 12GB.  I certainly don't have the budget for 24GB, but what about 16GB?
Do I look for 1333 or 1600?  2GB or 4GB sticks?  Would I be fine if I bought say 2 packs of 6GB ram, both same manufacturer and same type or would I want to buy 1 pack of 12GB?
    GPU
    Nvidia Geforce gtx 460 1GB $220
Is it worth it to go to the 470? I know it's a better card but being a budget is really worth the upgrade or can I get away with a 460?
Any recomendations for a 460 as there are many in the same price range?
    Drives
I see these drives priced in the $55 range which would leave at around $220 for the lot of em
These are the drives I'm looking at as they are highly recommended on this board:
    SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3
    WD Caviar Black
Right now, I plan to buy 4 drives.  Do I want 4 of the exact same? or say 1 cavier black for os/ programs and 3 samsung f3 for pagefile/scratch/renders?  Can I also get a brief description of what these are too?  Also, could have a 500gb for os/programs and 1tb for the rest or would it be advisable for 1tb for all? or 500gb for all?
I don't think I can do a raid setup based on my budget, but I saw this as an option on the thread for storage rules is to use the on-board IHCR or Marvell chip.  I don't know really anything about this, but what would the price be to explore this option?
    Case
    Cooler Master Storm Scout $90
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119196
I picked this case for a few reasons.  I seem move about every 6 months so the handles on top would be very useful, and it seems to have good cooling.  I know a full size case is recommended, but they seem to be significantly more.
    Cooling
    Noctua NH-U12P SE2 120mm SSO CPU Cooler $75
Everywhere I look this cooler seems to get great reviews.  I figure it could be a good idea to get a good cooler if I get a mid-tower case.
The only other option I can think of for case/cooling is to combine the budgeted price for both and look at different options like a full size case with a less quality cooler. Is this a better option
    PSU
Looking into an 850 W power supply.  I figure to budget $80 towards as I've seen a few in that range
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817517003
so would something like this work?
    Final Thoughts
So, when you add it all up its about $1350.  First question, how does this look overall?  Nothing I've chosen is obviously overkill, but is there anything I can afford to go cheaper on? or anything I should invest more into?
Thanks again to everyone for the help.  The resources, info and people on this forum have just been awesome.

Seems like we are planning very similar PCs.  My build is going to be for: amateur video editing including animation mainly with CS5, application design and coding mainly with MS Visual Studio 2008, HTPC (until I build a cheap dedicated unit for the TV), general family computing.  I am new to this stuff, but can at least share some pricing and my decision making process so far.
Here is what I have selected so far regarding the parts:
    MotherBoard: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R x58
Seems like one of the lower cost x58 MBs and has some decent reviews.  Wait for a sale, you should be able to find this for around $180.00.  That is how much I got it for from New Egg (straight up with savings code no rebate), should be arriving on my doorstep tomorrow.  Also, I think Fry's has it now for $170.00 in store, but that includes a $20.00 rebate and tax.
    PowerSupply: Corsair TX650W
Some might think this is on the low side.  On the other hand, I have gotten other conflicting advice, stating that many people overestimate their actual power needs.  So who knows.  I have read that a PSU works more efficient when it is matched to the power needs - meaning that a 1000w PSU that is generally seeing 200w usage might not be so efficient.  Anyway, I got the PSU for $50.00 from New Egg (with rebate), and it has a good reputation, so we will see how it goes.
    Graphics Card: GIGABYTE GV-N460OC-1GI GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
I was planning on a lower cost card, but then noticed this card for sale over the weekend for $178.00 (with rebate), so I ordered one.  I have read the GTX460 has reasonable power requirements, and can be made to take advantage of CUDA/Mercury with CS5 (although haven't done much research into that).  This particular version based on reviews, seems fairly quite with the twin fans. It's possible I overspent a bit on this card considering my needs, time will tell.
Here is what I am planning to purchase:
    CPU: i7 930
I am fortunate to live near a Fry's and MicroCenter ($200.00).  From reading the forum, seems like this is generally the lowest CPU folks go in terms of building an editing machine.  I understand the argument that for only $30.00 more, one can upgrade to the i7 950.  On the other hand, that argument could be made for many of the components, and then before you know it, a little extra here and there, and the budget is shot:)  So I am planning to draw the line at the 930.
    Here are my undecided’s:
    Memory
I am up in the air between 6or12gig/module compatibility/cost.  But one thing for you to keep in mind, is the official memory certified for the motherboard you select.  For the Gigabyte motherboard, I missed out on a recent RAM deal, because the RAM was not officially certified for the board.  Some people tell me this is important, while others say "RAM is RAM" and no big deal.  Something to consider.
    HardDrives
Same as you, considering the Samsung Spinpoint F3.  Good prices now at MicroCenter on the 16MB cache models in 500 and 1TB sizes.  I just don't know if larger cache sizes are important or not, since they are also offered in 32MB and higher.
Anyway, good luck with your build and hope it works well.

  • Could I get a quick review of proposed NLE system?

Hello-I was hoping for some input on a recommended system for NLE. I've been looking through the discussions and finding some great info.  I'm looking to updgrade to CS5 and Premiere Pro after years of using a Mac/Final Cut/After Effects system.
I've read all the issues in the forum with ordering a standard Dell system. My company has a business account with Dell and they're buying, but I'd like to upgrade from their standard desktop model. Below is a package one of our visual simulation developers pulled together for their team.  I don't think I need as much power for editing HD DSLR video and basic motion graphic work.  Can anyone make a recommendation on where to cut costs but still have a solid system for NLE?

I thought I could start by changing the GPU to a Quadra 4000 or a GForce GTX480.
Possibly change the Processor to i7 980X or even the i7 950x.
    Need the recommended soundcard?
    Anything else?
    Thanks for any input!

    Dave,
CPU - you can get a feel for where the W3690 would fall by finding i7-980x systems clocked around 3.5GHz. The W3690 is the same as a i7-990x but allows for the use of ECC (error correcting) RAM. You can search Intel's site for hours to comb the exact frequencies, etc. for their various CPUs, but for the purposes of running Premiere Pro all of the 6-core CPUs are 32nm and have similar architecture and cache. Dell's Precision workstations will not let you overclock at all, so whatever Intel rates a chip to run is what you will get with a Dell using that CPU.
Disk - RAID 0 helps a lot; the following text was cut from my thread entitled, "How changes to CPU speed, RAM size, and drives (SSD and hard drives) impacted my PPBM5 score":
    3) Drives: Slowest tested was project, cache, and cache DB all sharing a single 1TB WD 7200rpm drive [PPBM5 Disk I/O test = 138 sec.] Changing to two of the same drives in a RAID 0 configuration was a massive improvement [PPBM5 Disk I/O test = 82 sec.]
I would maintain that for what you are spending a 2x1TB in RAID 0 should be your "minimum". What do 3D guys know about P. Pro? I suspect as much as I know about building a 3D PC - not much!
A good way to save lots on a Dell is to buy it with a single boot drive and add your own 1TB drives; this does not void the warranty in any way, shape, or form if you buy the parts from Dell. They are selling Western Digital 1TB Black SATA 6GB/s 64MB 7200 rpm drives for $99.99/each. From memory, they are charging $450/each to add them to the "system configurator" when you build the T3500.

  • Windows User Switching to Mac – System Install/Setup Help

    Hi All,
I’m a (very) long time windows user switching to Mac. I know nothing about Mac’s as in zero zip (I’ve been messing with an iMac for 2 weeks.) Buying a MacBook Pro (spec’s at bottom). I do creative work audio/video/graphics and use a lot of nonstandard peripherals e.g. audio interfaces, RAID, drawing tablets etc. Getting a new system setup is a long and laborious process.
When I get a new computer here’s my normal process:
    Step 1
I reinstall windows to get rid of the junk software that’s always added by third parties.
Update all hardware drivers & software (OS and Auxiliary app’s)
Tweak Windows OS for my needs
    Make full system backup
    Step 2
Install all my major app’s e.g. adobe creative suite, audio programs etc.
Install non-standard peripherals such as audio interfaces, RAIDs etc.
    Make full system backup
    Step 3
Open up all major app’s and customize e.g. set preferences etc.
Set-up and test app specific peripherals, tweak as necessary
    Make full system backup
    Step 4
Install virus software and unimportant apps/hardware. No backup.
Is this basically what I should do with the mac? What kind of issues might I expect? Are there steps or issues I’m worrying about that don’t apply to the Mac? Finally, is there an equivalent to the windows Blue Screen of Death? Does the system every get so jammed up that a complete wipe out and re-install of OS and software is required?
I know these are very open questions so I’m only looking for general information.
    Thanks
Here’s the machine I’m going to buy:
    15” MacBook Pro (Late 2013) | 2.3GHz i7 Quad | 512GB PCIe-Based SSD | 16GB Ram - GeForce GT 750M (2GB)

Just to clarify the Mac includes anti-virus software and updates with no additional software purchase required?
Yes. Unlike Windows OS X was designed from its inception to be a secure multiuser operating system incorporating many protections specifically intended to isolate one user's space from another. Each succeeding release has only added more protections, and Apple updates its virus / malware database regularly.
Third party "anti-virus" products abound, but none of them improve upon anything OS X already includes. Most of them are simply worthless junk. Some will only cause problems, while others are arguably malicious. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Apple is the most famously secretive company since E-Systems, yet the vast majority of Mac related problems reported on this site are the direct result of using ill-conceived products from third party developers claiming unique knowledge of OS X's inner workings. The companies selling them are desperate to assert their continued relevance in a market that is seeing rapid contraction of Windows PCs in favor of iPads - and to a lesser extent, Macs - that have never had the need for their products. Many AV vendors have been reduced to sordid scare tactics as they see their market and revenue stream diminish. Unfortunately, scare tactics work, resulting in widespread misery among Mac users gullible enough to swallow them. That represents a threat all to itself.
If it were not for Windows' predilection for malicious alteration from viruses and malware we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Even though I’m doing some heavy lifting e.g. video editing, audio recording (full band), large folders of music files/video clips/animations etc. no system/drive maintenance is required by me or if it is the software to do so is already included?
Correct. As a professional you may not be satisfied with the bundled apps such as iMovie but Apple has professional video and audio recording apps as well. Even they are not very expensive. You can find out more about them in the Professional Applications forum.
A Mac needs no third party maintenance utilities. Like "anti-virus" products most of them are worthless also.
Time Capsule: I thought that was Apples hardware for backup, remote access, streaming etc.
Yes. The Time Capsule is Apple's combination wireless router and backup device. You can just as easily use any inexpensive hard disk to use in conjunction with Time Machine.
Time Machine is Apple's backup software and it's included with OS X. You can use either one, or both. You can also use inexpensive commercial "clone" software such as Carbon Copy Cloner. Each one has its advantages, as well as their limitations. In the interest of redundancy I use all of them.
B&H Photo is a highly reputable vendor, one of the few I recommend.

  • Need to build a system asap..Please advise:-)

    I presently have a 3 year old:
    * Win 7pro 64 bit 3.0 Intel core 2 quad Q9650, 64 kb primary cache, NOT hyperthreaded ((DO I NEED HYPERTHREADING?))
    * Asus P5K3 Delux, 333 megahertz
    * 8 gigs ram
    * Sys/programs drive: 10,000rpm drive
    * Video/audio/project/rendered files drive: 2, 1tb 7200 rpm drives raid 0
    * GTS 450 videocard (cuda enabled)
The system handles 1 layer mp4 & avchd OK. Could be better. I use mainly CS5 Premeire & Encore. Very little photoshop & AE. I edit weddings mainly & are constantly getting different formats & resolutions thrown at me. I need to be able to handle most formats with ease. Lots of Bluray Outputs as well.
**I need to be able to monitor video on a seperate monitor via component and hdmi. Will I need an additional card to do this? What is an inexpensive one?
**MB: I would like 2 FW ports, 6 or more SATA ports, 12 or 24 gigs ram..CAN PREMEIRE UTILIZE 24 GIGS?
    ** Can I put all video/project/render files on a 2 drive 7200 rpm Raid 0 ? Or do I need another drive.
**How much faster will the new system be compared to the one above.
I am looking to build an NLE for $2000 not including monitors or software.
I saw this post on the forum from
    Chuck A. McIntyre
, how might this do for me?? I could spend a little more to get more:-) THANKS TO ALL!
