Built a new role with DISPLAY authorizations in MM

Hi All,
I have been given a task to create a role for MM (Materials Management) Display only.
What i have done is from pfcg created a role and in the menu tab i selected copy menus from sap menu and now i have to maintain authorizations.
when i go to authorizations tab and change role authorizations there are somany objects that need to be maintained for example Basis,controlling, FI,MM,PM,SD.
can some one please tell me what need to be maintained and what tcodes need to be assigned to this role (for MM ).

Hi,
depend on what t-codes you defined, the oject class and authorization objects maybe vary.
there is no exact predefined template for your purpose, but common authorization class that relate to MM are :
MM_B
MM_D
MM_E
MM_G
MM_L
MM_R
MM_S
MM_W
any other object class, in example SD for SD modules depend t-codes that you have assigned.
if you don't understand what value to be set, ask your BASIS or other functional, if they don't understand too, try to inactivate it and try to login. if you are facing unauthorized one, try /nSU53 to determine what authorization is missing.

Reg: Mass generation of roles with open authorization

Hi,
Is there an option to mass generate roles with open authorizations ?
It would be helpful if it there exists some transactions or reports that would help in doing so unlike CATT scripts or batch sessions.

Why cant you correct the roles by filling up those open fields?? I guess you can create a CATT script to acheive your objective but I suggest better to check why there are open fields in the role then generating them blindly.
Do let us know if you need any more information from our side. If you want to know how to create a CATt script then search for it in SDN/Google you will surely get your answer.

Role for display Authorizations

Hi All,
We need to know if thre are any standard Roles available by which i can have all Display authorizations in Production system.
Currently we have many Custom roles and this thisng is really messed up in our organization. So i have suggested to Standardized the role related issues and starting with MM, i would like to know if in production we can have access with all Disply rights for all relevant authorizations along with SPRO display. Can anyone suggest something on this?
Also if we need to create some "Z" or "Y" role; please suggest how we can achieve it.

Hi Prashanth,
First identify all the transactions which you want to have to give display authorization.
Go to PFCG--> Enter All transactions which everyou want to give authorization for display.
Save.
Go to Authorization tab check for objects vreated for relevant transactions and provide display as activity in those objects.

In Simple, Authorizations are union of accesses to objects available in different roles.
That is why you need to use SUIM transaction to find overlapping authorizations while implementing security in an organization.

New problem with display on Macbook Pro retina (Samsung panel)

Hello All,
I am a very new people on your forum but a few weeks ago i bought a new macbook pro retina with samsung panel.
I haven't ghosting effect on my macbook but i have a new and really bad problem.
I try to found a some information on Russians forums but nobody can help me with it.
I can see an artifacts in the form of flashing pixels on all display.
It occurs in 20-30 minutes after the start of work.
Today i try to test it on game Dirt 2 and i can see defects after 2 minutes after start. So i think it can be reason with Geforce 650 but when i back to desktop and use HD 4000 i still see a problem.
This is best seen on a black screen with high backlight.
When i try to connect TV via HDMI i can't see any problem in my TV.
So i really don't know what could be the reason.

Also i have a many software problem like Crashing safari and iTunes. It can be a few times per day.
I really disappointed with my new Macbook.
I haven't any problem with old 2009 Macbook pro with Snow Leopard but Mountain Lion is not working well.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

New role with workbooks not visible

Dear all,
I have something strange. I created a role and I saved workbooks in it.
When I create a new workbook and save, I can see this role and I can save the workbook in my role (this role is assigned to me).
However, when I reopen the workbook, I go to the Role tab but I have nothing: no role and thus no workbook.
Do you have any idea?

Hi Ric,
I know that behavior from my own experience. Up to now I just came up with a workaround solution. When you want to open the saved workbook, you can go to "Search" tab where you can search for the workbook description. This search seems to be case sensitive, so be careful with that.
If someone else found another solution I am interested in that, too.

Brand new MBP with display problems.Ghosting & Red Pixels

Bought a MacbookPro at the apple store in Santa Monica,CA as a gift for sister in law who lives inNepal. When we got to Nepal and she started the computer for the 1st time, the display was ghosting, everything that was gray or blue was red tint, & every highlight was red.Ranthe Hardware test & showed everythingis fine. Would like to exchange for a new machine, but it is so far and dont know when we coming back, any suggestions for repairs, what the problem may be?

It looks like a graphics issue. Download gfxCardStatus and try switching graphics mode once. You might get it to work in one of the modes until you can get it repaired or exchanged.

New Role in PFCG only for customizing (display mode)

Hi,
Some users asked me to have a specific role to display all customizing settings (form transaction SPRO). This new role should allow users only to display customizing settings without changing them.
I tried to copy and manipoulate standard role S_BC_CUS_CUSTOMIZER. In my new role Z_S_BC_CUS_CUSTOMIZER (copy of the standard) I have setted as "display" entries with field "ACTVT".
However it doesn't work as I like because user with that role can still modify customizing.
Can any of you help me please? thanks.

Those role doesn't exit in my system, anyway you should create a new role where all authorization groups have the value 3 for the activity.
So you should assign to the object S_TABU_DIS only 3 as action allowed.
Anyway you should check all roles assigned to your user, because perhaps if a user has two roles where it can changed the data for the first role and it can't do it for the second one, the result will be the user can change the data.

I am afraid, the only option I know is manually change all instance of Auth Object ACTVT (Activity) to 03, 08
- Create a new role
- Go to Authorization tab
- It will ask to select a profile, select SAP_ALL
- manually change the activity to 03,08

Hi everyone,
I would like to create a new standard role in my domain.
To do this I noticed the SecurityManager and its method createRole. I tried to create a new role with it using the default domain as target. I always get the error ORACLE.FDK.AccessDenied even if I use user orcladmin.
If I use a library as target I get error ORACLE.FDK.UnexpectedError:ORACLE.FDK.ServerError
Moreover in the javadoc I did not notice any attribute that associate permissions to a newly create role.
Could anyone have an idea on these points?

1) Is the CUST_BI database user in the right place ?Yes, though you should add the language code to the user name, e.g. CUST_BI_US. This will be the EUL owner, the schema that holds all the EUL tables. The temporary tablespace you specify in the create_eul command is only used when you connect as the EUL owner, so is not important.
When you connect as an apps user the connection will be made using the APPS database user, and therefore the temporary tablespace used (and location of MVs) will be the temporary and default tablespaces associated with the APPS user. You can change the temporary tablespace just for the Discoverer users by issuing a ALTER SESSION SET CURRENT_SCHEMA command in a PL/SQL procedure called during the initialisation of the Discoverer sessions.
2) As you can see, I need to separate the BI administration from EBS administration... and DISCOADMIN is a new Apps user... any checklist/recommendation for this new Apps. user? The disco administration user can be any apps user who has EUL administration privileges in the EUL. This user should then be used to create all business areas, etc.

Can anyone tell me how to create a role with SPRO authorization for FICO transactions and roles only. I need to assign a role with which a FICO consultant can do all the customizing related tasks in the development server. Please give some solution.

Hi there,
The easiest way to get all of the t-codes, is for a customising project to be created in the IMG with all of the relevant IMG activities assigned to it. (Your FI CO consultant can assist here.)
Once that has been done, you can go and create a role in PFCG. Select the menu tab, then select Utilities - Customizing Auth. and it will then ask you to select a customising project.
Once you've done that, all IMG activities and transactions for that customising project will automatically be entered into the menu.
You then need to go and maintain and generate the authorisations.
That's my suggestion.

I had no idea that we had discussed SPRO that often...
As you can see from the thread Alex pointed out ( [this one|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=19779873&messageID=6581648] ) it is also usefull to know which system in the landscape this role is destined for.
Assuming this is for the QAS system, why don't you identify all the business roles for the production system (those which do not permit customizing in production either, nor user admin and other "basis" tasks, nor development work...etc...) and assign them all to the users (I assume these are support users).
They should be in QAS already, and if your client settings are correct (T), you will experience the same or a very similar result.
Of course they won't have "SAP_ALL minus SPRO", but they will have what you are actually using for the "real users"... in production (except it will be in QAS).
That way they have also have a more realistic testing experience with the correct roles (only).

Hi,
There are around 40+ Standard roles in EP7. If you logon with J2ee_admin you can see all the roles attached to a user under user Management Tab.
