Built in Interactions in Captivate7

I downloaded the demo version of cap7. I like the built in interactions, but have some questions:
1. Should these interactions work when the project is published to HTML5?
2. I can't get the zoom picture and sticky note features to work. They disappear when I click on them in the final project. Does anyone have experience with these?
thanks,
all help appreciated.

I put each interaction in a slide in and published the project first as HTML and then as swf. The swf for zoom and sticky notes didnt work.
when i clicked on the sticky note, i was taken to the next slide and did not get the opportunity to type in text.
when i clicked on the image in the zoom interaction, the slider bar appeared for a second and then the same thing happened, it went to the next slide.
thanks for your help

  • Interactive Report: how can I display carriage returns?

    Hello everybody.
Here is my problem: I created a table containing a field COMMENT varchar2(4000) and using APEX 4.1 I built an interactive report on it.
Users can fill the field COMMENT with sentences on different rows, ex:
" this is the first line
    this is the second line
    this is the third line"
This is correctly managed in the FORM, where I defined the field COMMENT as 'Text Area', but in the REPORT I wasn't able to set it in a way which permits to see it whit the carriage returns: the content is displayed on one row only : "this is the first linethis is the second linethis is the third line".
I tried and set all the possible field types, but I found no ways to display the content exactly as it is (with carriage returns).
    Obviously I cannot use HTML
, since I cannot ask users to digit it when inserting their text.
Could someone suggest me how to reach this result? In need to use the interactive report because the searching/filtering tool is fundamental.
    Thanks in advance,
    Daniele

Put this in the page HTML Header, replacing the <tt>T_EMP_NAME</tt> etc selectors with the actual <tt>id</tt> attributes of your column headers:
    <style type="text/css">
    .apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA td[headers="T_EMP_NAME"] {
      white-space: pre;
    </style>
Interactive Report Control Break disregards HTML Header style.

  • Does Safari support a interactive PDF with hidden layers? I'm on version  5.0.3 and the interactive PDF displays just fine, but our web development team tells me all the layers display when they view the same PDF on Safari.

Does Safari support interactive PDFs with layers? Through the use of hidden layers and buttons we built in interactivity that allows the viewers to click on buttons to display different content. When I view the PDF in Safari 5.0.3 on my Mac OS 10.5.8 the PDF displays fine and the interactivity works. However our web design firm tell me the PDF displays all the hidden layers when they view it in Safari. Who's right?

Try updating your Safari to the latest version, 5.0.5.
Also check whether the rest of your system is up to date by going to Software Update in the Apple menu.

  • Email interactive pdf from webdynpro without displaying form

    Hi all,
We have a webdynpro application that needs to generate an interactive form and send it by email, without first displaying it to the user.  I have built the interactive form in a webdynpro component and it works fine, but I think it requires the window to be opened to generate the pdf xstring to be attached to the email.  But we do not need the window to be opened because the users don't want to review the form before sending it. (whether this is a good idea or not is not up for discussion. )
I am wondering if there is a better way to accomplish this? More detail on scenario: the user selects some data in the screen and then clicks a button like "send form". They fill out a popup with recipient info and then click "send".  A form based on the data they originally selected should be sent to the recipient. The recipient (who does not have access to SAP) fills out some fields in the form (hence it needs to be interactive), then sends the completed form back to the originator via email.
    Thanks for any suggestions!
    Margaret

Thanks to all for your responses. I could have stated the problem more succinctly as: how to send a form with ZCI layout (not standard layout) via email?
The pointers you gave are helpful and probably would have gotten us to the solution. We found we could use the normal functions, "CALL FUNCTION 'FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME' ...." and then
    CALL FUNCTION funcname
      EXPORTING
        /1bcdwb/docparams  = fp_docparams
          /1bcdwb/docxml     = docxml
where docxml is the output of a custom transformation we built to convert a deep ABAP structure to the correct XML format. (Note that "CALL TRANSFORMATION id ..." does not work correctly for converting deep structures for ABAP forms because the id transformation inserts <item> where <DATA> is needed.)

  • Access download link in an Interactive Report

I've built an interactive report and one of the columns, File, is a download link. I assume the I can create a trigger to log when/who clicks on that link, because I have a trigger that runs when they first upload a file to the table that automatically grabs the SYSDATE and APP_USER. However, I don't know how to reference the download link. With the upload it is simply a button click, but the link is within the report and I can't seem to figure out how to interact with it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
I think you can not use database trigger when someone select from table.
I would create e.g. application process that handle loging and then "download" file.
This might help you create code

  • Interactive Reports filter ignoring case

Is there a way to have the built-in interactive report filter ignore case? I am currently passing the 'LIKE' filter to my interactive report to search for employee names. I want it to ignore the case so 'SMITH' would be the same as 'Smith' when doing search.
    ie. upper(:P1_NAME) like upper(EMP.NAME)

But I'm not capturing the time. The default format is DD-MON-RR.
This is crazy, I have used other Adhoc tools that didn't treat dates that way.
Seeing as the operators change depending on the data type selected by the user, the option must be controlled in the application. Oracle is excluding it for some reason, but they really need to let the administrator control that.
This is in Interactive Reports. The users don't want to have to format the dates, or anything else. They just want to filter the data to a certain date and the = sign should be allowed. If they are capturing time, then the administrator can truncate the date and make it available via another field/column.

I have built an interactive report with some formatting filters.
I do not want the users to change anything in this report, so I have disabled

How can I stop this ?

  • Interactive zoom function within Indesign??

    Hi all
I have built an interactive document which has images and text on. Within the document there is a section of text (in a small box) which is to be read if nessacery by the client. If the client wishes to read it there going to need a 'ZOOM' feature applied so its readable.
I have applied the button command ('VIEW ZOOM') to my small text within a box but nothing happens.
Can i within Indesign apply a command so the text enlarges when clicked??
    Thanks all
    AndyP

    I have found a work around;
    >object state
    >resize the second state
    >create button making sure the correct state is selected
JOB DONE, my text now enlarges once clicking the button i created

  • Please, Wait - Processing Icon - for Interactive Report Query

Is there a way to use the built in animation that displays a "busy or processing" animation when using an Interactive Form with a live dynamic query?
For example, I built an Interactive Report using a query. However, I would like to display to the end user an animation while they wait for the query to load the updated data.
I notice when interacting with the Interactive Report, there is an animation that displays when using filters, sorts and searching for data. How can I use this built in animation when querying data to build the report on initial load?
Any direction on this is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Using a different user(other than default PI user) with adapter module

    Hi,
We are having a custom adapter module built to interact with a Hardware Security Module(HSM). This custom adapter module by default uses a PI user configured in the system. However, we are not able to pass commands to HSM because of insufficient authorizations to this PI user. Now, we do not exactly know the permissions required for the user to access HSM. We have asked the HSM support team about the same. However, I wanted to explore the possibility of using a different PI user to work with the adapter module and eventually pass commands to HSM.
We have an admin user configured which has all the necessary authorizations. Is it possible to use this admin user created on PI system to work with adapter module so that it passes commands to HSM?
    Thanks,
    Ravi Desai

We have given the necessary authorizations to PI user.

  • I Need PHP 5.3 no longer avail in a VC6 compatable with Apache 2.2.15

I appologize if this question is already answered somewhere (I did search a bit)..
    1. I have written a significant amount of my site using functions only available in PHP 5.3+ (ie not in PHP5.2)
    ( see php.net /manual/en/migration53.new-features.php )
    2. PHP (in thier infinite wisdom) have decicided that not only is there no longer a VC6 (ie Apache 2.2.15 compatable) build of php 5.3.6 but they removed the 5.3.3 build and are offering only 5.2.17 in a VC6 build suitable for use with the version of Apache built into FMS4.
(see windows.php.net/download/ and note the lines:
Do NOT use VC9 version with apache.org binaries.
    and
VC9 versions of Apache can be fetched at Apache Lounge. We use their binaries to build the Apache SAPIs.)
    3. The FMS4 documentation says:
    (see help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/configadmin/WSE2A5A7B9-E118-496f-92F9-E295038DB7DB. html#WS02f7d8d4857b1677-469e53bb12984254411-8000
The recommended approach to upgrading the Apache web server is to install or build the Apache server in a directory that is separate from the existing server. Then copy the contents of newly-installed directories to the existing server.
In most cases, you do not replace the existing Apache configuration files with the newer versions of these files. This is because the Apache web server installation for Flash Media Server is pre-configured with specific modules and settings.)
    My Question is:
Does this even work? I sounds like a REALY BAD idea to me to instal a version of Apache built to use the Visual C 9 runtime and then kludge in an httpd.conf file that starts loading modules that were built to interact with a version that uses the Visual C 6 library. Has anyone actually done this successfully???
I don't blame the FMS developers here (well except for the really bad idea of making Apache "part" of the FMS package in the first place) but you a shipping with a version of Apache that is incompatable with PHP! (OK, the _latest versions_ of PHP.. but that still makes this _your_ problem.. and a big problem at that if you ask me).
    Suggestions?

  • Enchancement Request: IR arrow button in Search Filter uses applied Filters

    Hello,
I'd like to request an Enhancement.
I'd like the IR arrow button in IR Search Filter, when performs the DISTINCT to provide choices in list for the user to select, that would take into consideration any other Filters that have already been applied to the IR Report in.
Currently it seems that it ignores any of these already applied filters and provides the DISTINCT list of the default report settings row set.
    Referencing thread:
How to display values in arrow in Filter in IR for joined table columns ?
    TIA
    Dionyssis

Ah ha! I figured out a solution. It took one of those "ah ha" moments to do it.
Peter.... thanx for the suggestion, but I am using the built-in Interactive Report settings to hide the Actions button and other things. I am also attempting to hide the section on the page which displays the current filtering, control breaks, etc. that are applied to the report. This is because the page is a public page and needs to be as simple as possible and I do not want the end users to have the ability to turn pre-built filtering and control breaks on and off. The problem is that the user-entered filtering is displayed in the same place as the pre-built filtering and I want to display the former, but not the latter.
I created a display-only item on the page containing the text that should show when the user has entered some search criteria in the search box. I then created a dynamic action which is triggered by the refresh of the interactive report and runs some javascript which first checks if there is "custom search criteria" applied and then hides or shows the display item accordingly. My javascript code is below for those interested.
    if ( $('#apexir_CONTROL_PANEL_COMPLETE .fielddata:contains("Row text contains")').text() )
    { $x_Show('P1510_FILTER_ENABLED') } else { $x_Hide ('P1510_FILTER_ENABLED') }Shane.

  • Unable to create source...

I get this message when attempting to embed an SWF file into
    FLEX as follows:
    [Embed (source='assets/advertdemoleft.swf')]
    private var adl:Class;
the swf is built with Interactive Designer in Quark and
    exported as SWF.
    Help??

This forum is nearly dead. All the action is on the "Flex

    note that in the subject.

  • How to open documents programatically within current Workspace session

I'm using Hyperion 9.3.1 across the board and I've built both Interactive Reporting and Web Analysis documents. Within those documents I have links/controls to open other Interactive Reporting documents.
From Interactive Reporting, I have two options, create a Hyperlink shape, or a Command button control and use OpenURL. Both create new sessions of Workspace when they open the documents.
From Web Analysis, you can not use Open Document to open Interactive Reporting (only works for other Web Analysis documents), so I have to use the service that opens a link, which again creates a new session in Workspace.
I would like to have my reports all open within the same Workspace session and have the nice tabs in the bottom of Workspace appear that shows all the open documents (which is the default behavior when you double click documents in Workspace explorer).
    Any ideas?

For Interactive Reporting, I found information on how to do this. Page 22 in ir_developer-vol1.pdf. Here's a snippet of the documentation:
    * New Window—A pop-up window is created every time the hyperlink is clicked. This option,
which is the default, maps to the OpenURL OM method "_blank" target.
    * Current Window—If the execution application is Interactive Reporting Web Client or
Workspace, the content replaces the Workspace content area (for example, excluding the
surrounding browse application panes). In Interactive Reporting Studio, a pop-up window
    is displayed.
    * Top Window—If the execution application is Interactive Reporting Web Client or
Workspace, the content replaces the top HTML window. This option maps to the OpenURL
    OM methods "_top" target.
& Named Window—A named pop-up window is created. If a named window is currently
displayed, the URL replaces the content of the current window. When this option is selected,
the user can enter the new window name in the Target window text box that is displayed
below the drop-down list. This option maps to the user-specified, target-name option of the
    OpenURL method.
I'm pretty sure I tried all of these possible targets in the Hyperlink properties window, but perhaps I didn't. Oh well...I'll see if it works.

  • Connect to mysql without datasource

    Good day every body.
Im sure this is possible but i dont know how.
I need to connect to a mysql database without creating a
    datasourse.
I need the query code please.. if i need to install a driver
on the server or create a dynamic datasourse. i can..
    Regards

    > Well i want do create sites that can connect to a mysql
    server dynamically
    > from settings changed in the application.cfm file.
    > So that different people can just change there ip
    without having to create the
    > datasource.
Well <cfquery> tags and <cfstoredproc> tags
    require a datasource, don't
    they.
So how are you expecting to use them without one?
You COULD - quite easily - just use Java to communicate with
    the JDBC
drivers, which would not require a DSN being defined, but it
    would mean not
using CF's in-built database interactivity tags.
I don't really understand why you think it's bad to have a
    datasource? Can
you expand on your idea so I understand what you're trying to
    achieve?
