Built in memory error

Powered up ibook, started normally. Unplugged power cord during startup, computer froze. Utilized force quit/restart commands. ibook restarted. Various problems since- Safari quit unexpectedly, won't start up, gray screen, etc.
Ran Hardware test - memory error: 2MEM/104/4: DIMMO/BUILTIN.
Can someone give me a suggestion as to what problem is/solution?
Thanks

Before I got your email, I went thru my computer & email and dumped everything I did not absolutely have to have. Rebooted and reset pmu several times and finally got ibook & web browser to work. Maybe I created a conflict in the system, don't know for sure. I will remember your suggestion and try if anything else occurs. Thank you.

  • Built-in Memory error code

Mine is a G3 600Mhz, with its original 128 Mb memory. Lately it ran to a kernel panic and hang up. I used the Hardware Check CD, and it showed that the buit-in memory is errored.
I don't have guaranty on my Ibook. So if I want to get it fix, how much it will cost me?
If it is too much, then probably I should let it goes and get a PC laptop (so cheap now).
    Thank you for your reply.

    You're welcome.
Was it just one kernel panic? You may be able to limp along with it for awhile if it isn't panicking repeatedly. But it will probably not work very well for very long.
When I need a new Mac, I shop at some of the catalog/online places. Lots of times they will double the original memory for just a $30 or $40 installation fee and offer freebies (cases, printers, etc.) to get you to buy from them. Check out Club Mac, MacMall, MacConnection, and Mac Warehouse. SmallDog.com has some good deals, too, and they will let you customize them if you want a bigger hard drive than is standard. Another place to check is the Apple Special Deals page. You can often find some good prices on refurbished models there.
    Again, good luck.

  • E71 keeps giving out of memory error; I can't find...

My Nokia E71 (it's black so it may be an E71x, I guess) keeps giving me out of memory errors. I use my phone for nothing but voice calls, text messages, and emails. I have cleared all call logs, deleted all emails except 5 (they have no attachments) and cleared deleted emails, and deleted all text messages. I went into file manager and made sure there are no images, videos, etc. on the phone. I set up options to use memory card for emails. I've turned the phone off, waited 15 or 20 seconds, and turned it back on.
I did all this a couple weeks ago. Ever since then. every couple days I get these out of memory errors, and the phone memory shows me 119 MB used and something like 300K free. I'm at the point where every few emails that come in, I have to delete all emails, erase all text messages, etc. or the phone is just too low on memory to operate.
What else can I try? I don't have any additional applications installed. I've even tried to delete built-in apps such as RealPlayer but it didn't seem like that was possible.
This is getting really annoying. Please help!

    @EricHarmon
Although all user data would be deleted, have you tried resetting device to "Out of box" state by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by user)?

  • Source works fine, EXE gives no memory error

I have finished my program and am now trying to build the exe taht will run on the cliends workstation. The source has been well tested and does not throw any errors when running.
Building the exe works fine but when running the exe I get an out of memory error message (below). Watching the memory usage in task manager there is no significant increase. I have built and tested all of the sub vi's on their own and they work fine. The largest dataset in the program is an n=720 array of doubles.
Is there some build config setting im missing to make this work right or something?

Do you run the EXE on the same machine as the development?
If so, did you close LV (Development Environment) before running the EXE?
Did you build the EXE as debuggable? If so, can you hook up to it using Desktop Execution Trace Toolkit?

  • More on Out of Memory Error

I recently purchased the CS3 Master Suite. Am running Encore 3.0.1.008. Have a dual core with 2 gigs, Vista.
Built a medium size movie with a 70 clips, 14 timelines, and 14 menus. Everything linked nicely, check project finds no errors. Projected size of result on DVD: 3.003 Gigs.
Invoke build. Transcoder begins. Fails on second clip. Out of Memory Error.
Checked forums. Note existent of these problems going back many months. Tried various suggestions. Cleared media cache. Rebooted, reentered, restarted. Same result.
Also came across warning about 2 gig memory limit. However, note that many, many programs are written with input and output sizes much larger than resident memory. This is a CS101 design issue.
Because I was obligated to make a release to a client base with high expectations, I scaled back the project to an embarrassingly small size.
I would call it a demo size as opposed to an acceptable project size.
Of course, I needed to start from scratch. All attempts to prune the original project to smaller and smaller sizes failed (even with media cache clearing, rebooting). A project with 1 menu and 2 video clips did build.
My conclusion from this experience is that Encore was designed and tested to meet alpha-release demo standards. There is the well deserved expectation with other Adobe products: PhotoShop, Dreamweaver, etc, that production standards can be achieved.
My forum reading suggests that Encore has been in this crippled state for months, perhaps years. My question is, when can we expect a fix? There are plenty of software engineers out there who could bring this up to Photoshop standards.
I spent $2500 on the Master Suite with the expectation that I could do production work, not serve as unpaid QA for Adobe.

When I try to build a DVD this error appears
The instruction at 0x007fa94c referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
What can i do to fix this problem or to build my DVD..?

Could you upload the page (and associated files) to a server and provide a link.
    Another way would be to put the page through the html validator and see if it picks up where the error is;

  • Out of memory error - WLW Schema Project build

    hi
Wasn't sure which group (workshop vs xmlbeans) but here goes.
I'm doing a persomal eval of the WLS 8.1.1. platform.
My current focus is on XML Schema support, XML Beans, transformations etc
and in particular how it all copes with large schema.
I'm using Justice XML Data Dictionary (3.0.0.0) as an example of a large
    schema
    (http://it.ojp.gov/jxdd/)
I am getting an out of memory error when I build this within WLW.
The build appears to be in the javac phase (and occurs when the memory goes
over 256M) so I think it's the ANT task.
WLW doesn't seem to be running out of memory and the build machine is not
    running out of resources.
Where do I configure this? The <xmlbean> tag ? Is there any doco?
    regards

    hi Kevin
Thanks I'll take a look there.
I think it's a good move to make XMLBeans open source.
(I've been using Castor for the same purpose for the last two years).
I was mainly focussed on XMLBeans as they are used in WLW context and my
testing suggested that I would probably want to know more about the ANT
build/tasks etc. (Just to be able to deal with unexpected issues)
It's not urgent - I'm just doing a personal eval to come up to speed with
    WLS 8.1 platform.
    thanks

As to your second question about WLW becoming unresponsive, after the
Schemas.jar is built, the source for the entire project is re-scanned
which could take several minutes. The performance impact of rescanning
the project is improved in SP2 and will be addressed even more in future
    releases. Stay tuned.

  • Data structure and out of memory error

I have a program need to load data files and store the float data values in 3 two dimentional array. These data files are generated from biological experiments and are quite large. For e.g., when I tried to load 59 files, each file has 409,600 rows and store these data in 3 Float[][] arrays, like following
    pixel: Float[59][409600]
    signal: Float[59][409600]
    std: Float[59][409600]
I know the variables of float data type occupy 4 bytes in memory, is this true for the object of Float data type(the wrapper class for float)?
After cacluation, the total memory needed for the three 2D arrays are:
    4 * 409600 * 59 * 3 = 276.6 (MB)
I'm using JBuilder 9 Personel and already set the parameter of -XmX as 800 MB, but I still get out of memory error in the middle of loading. Could you give a hand on this issue?
    thanks a lot!

ok, you mean the Float object will take 24 bytes to
store in memory instead of 4 bytes needed for float
variable, right?Yes it's about 20 bytes per Float object. 4 for the actual float and about 16 in overhead. And then 4 bytes for the reference to the object in the array. So each float will occupy a total of about 24 bytes whereas a float just takes 4.
Would you please give me a clue where
you get this information?Well an object stores the actual data and has an overhead of about 16 bytes so it's just to add it up -:) I use this as a rule of thumb. I don't remember anymore where I got it in the first place.
    The purpose to store in
Float object is to display these data directly in
JTable to reduce the overhead for displaying data in
table.Yes but it's better to minimize the storage of the raw bulk data. You can always have getter methods that return Float objects to the rest of the program "on demand".
I've a class to create the table model by
subclassing the AbstractTableModel. Based on these
loaded raw data, I've to do other expensive operation
using different analysis methods. So maybe using the
built in data type is more effcient in my later
calcuations. It's always a tradeoff. Use float for fast calculations and raw storage, and Float otherwise for maximum object orientation.

  • Export several Fuji X-Trans Files got "Not Enough Memory" Error

When I tried to export several (say 15) Fuji X-Trans files at the same time, I got a "Not Enough Memory" Error. This problem only occurred after after upgrading to Lightroom 4.4. I can now only export a few (3-5) X-Trans files at the same time. Does anyone encounter this problem and know how to fix it?
I am using Windows 7 32-bit with 4GB memory, SSD System drive, and Radeon 7700 Graphics card. For Virtual memory, I set "no paging file" on C drive and "system managed size" on another SSD drive.
    Thanks in advance.
    Wilson

One might expect an Export function is single-threaded so the number of files exported wouldn’t matter, but perhaps if you are very close to the limit, memory fragmentation comes into play, where LR is requiring contiguous blocks and there aren’t any big enough.  It’s probably time to upgrade to a 64-bit Windows system and start getting used to the Metro interface which isn’t bad as long as your frequently-used programs have tiles on the first screen.
Go to Help / System Info… and see how much memory LR has available.  On my 32-bit system with 4GB of RAM installed LR only has 716.8MB available which is typical for 32-bit Windows applications:
    Built-in memory: 3327.0 MB
Real memory available to Lightroom: 716.8 MB
Real memory used by Lightroom: 160.5 MB (22.3%)
Virtual memory used by Lightroom: 160.8 MB
    Memory cache size: 33.2 MB
You could change your VM settings to allocate a multi-gigabyte minimum pagefile size to see if it makes any difference, in case LR is waiting on the VMM to allocate more and then gives up, but I’d expect LR is requiring actual RAM for processing images, not VM which is much , much slower.

  • Equium A60 with faulty built in memory

    Hi
I have tried recovering my Equium A60 with the recovery DVD and it will not boot windows. I tried to install a number of different versions of windows and the error messages lead me to the conclusion that the memory module is faulty. The system came with 256MB of memory and this is non removable as it is part of the motherboard. My question is if I buy a memory module and install it in the expansion slot will it be prevented from working by the faulty built-in memory?
    Message was edited by: binkey1st

    Hi Kevin,
Unfortunately there is no way to isolate the faulty RAM on your motherboard. Even if you install a second RAM module the system will still try to use the faulty built in module as well.
You will need to take you notebook to an ASP for the faulty module to be replaced.

After years of playing Snood, w/o problems, I started getting this error message, on my iMac, OS 10.5.8,
with 4 GB of memory when opening Snood:  Not enough memory {Error # :: 0, in sound.cp@line 101
My MacBook Pro w. Mac OS 10.6.8 did not have this problem.
Initially I thought that Snood raised its minimum requirement to Mac OS 10.6.
I had several correspondences with Snood. Their tech support is great. Quick and thorough responses.
They thought the issue was in Mac's system preferences/ Sound. It was.
I didn't realize that my sound input and output devices were gone.
The fix was resetting the PRAM. I found this advice on MacFixIt.com.

  • Acrobat XI Pro "Out of Memory" Error.

We just received a new Dell T7600 workstation (Win7, 64-bit, 64GB RAM, 8TB disk storage, and more processors than you can shake a stick at). We installed the Adobe CS6 Master Collection which had Acrobat Pro X. Each time we open a PDF of size greater than roughly 4MB, the program returns an "out of memory" error. After running updates, uninstalling and reinstalling (several times), I bought a copy of Acrobat XI Pro hoping this would solve the problem. Same problem still exists upon opening the larger PDFs. Our business depends on opening very large PDF files and we've paid for the Master Collection, so I'd rather not use an freeware PDF reader. Any help, thoughts, and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Chris

As mentioned, the TEMP folder is typically the problem. MS limits the size of this folder and you have 2 choices: 1. empty it or 2. increase the size limit. I am not positive this is the issue, but it does crop up at times. It does not matter how big your harddrive is, it is a matter of the amount of space that MS has allocated for virtual memory. I am surprised that there is an issue with 64GB of RAM, but MS is real good at letting you know you can't have it all for use because you might want to open up something else. That is why a lot of big packages turn off some of the limits of Windows or use Linux.

  • Acrobat XI Pro "Out of Memory" error after Office 2010 install

    Good Afternoon,
We recently pushed Office 2010 to our users and are now getting reports of previous installs of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro no longer working but throwing "Out of Memory" errors.
We are in a Windows XP environment. All machines are HP 8440p/6930p/6910 with the same Service pack level (3) and all up to date on security patches.
All machines are running Office 2010 SP1.
All machines have 2GB or 4GB of RAM (Only 3.25GB recognized as we are a 32bit OS environment).
All machines have adequate free space (ranging from 50gb to 200gb of free space).
All machines are set to 4096mb initial page file size with 8192mb maximum page file size.
All machines with Acrobat XI Pro *DO NOT* have Reader XI installed alongside. If Reader is installed, it is Reader 10.1 or higher.
The following troubleshooting steps have been taken:
    Verify page file size (4096mb - 8192mb).
Deleted local user and Windows temp files (%temp% and c:\WINDOWS\Temp both emptied).
Repair on Adobe Acrobat XI Pro install. No change.
Uninstall Acrobat Pro XI, reboot, re-install. No change.
Uninstall Acrobat Pro XI Pro along with *ALL* other Adobe applications presently installed (Flash Player, Air), delete all Adobe folders and files found in a full search of the C drive, delete all orphaned Registry entries for all Adobe products, re-empty all temp folders, reboot.
Re-install Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. No change.
Disable enhanced security in Acrobat XI Pro. No change.
    Renamed Acrobat XI's plug_ins folder to plug_ins.old.
You *can* get Acrobat to open once this is done but when you attempt to edit a file or enter data into a form, you get the message, "The "Updater" plug-in has been removed. Please re-install Acrobat to continue viewing the current file."
A repair on the Office 2010 install and re-installing Office 2010 also had no effect.
At this point, short of re-imaging the machines (which is *not* an option), we are stumped.
We have not yet tried rolling back a user to Office 2007 as the upgrade initiative is enterprise-wide and rolling back would not be considered a solution.
Anyone have any ideas beyond what has been tried so far?

I am surprised that there is an issue with 64GB of RAM, but MS is real good at letting you know you can't have it all for use because you might want to open up something else. That is why a lot of big packages turn off some of the limits of Windows or use Linux.

  • Memory Error Neo2 Pt 4*512 DDR 400 or even 333

Ok, this board has started giving me a lot of problems. 1 week ago all was fine, and suddenly I started getting BSODs. Last friday the computer shut off after a BSOD, while I was just browsing the internet.
Affter that it failed to start and gave a BSOD on every boot.
Then it started automatically again. And woked well.
On sat the system wont start and gave long beeps, indiicating memory error.
    4*512 Ballistix default spd.
so I reset my BIOS, upgraded bios to 1.A ballistix edition, as syar suggested.
Computer ran well / rebooted well.
but when I did a cold start sunday morning I got long beeps again. Even resetting the BIOS did help. Got long beeps.
I took 1 module out and the system started well. went into the bios and manually set bus to 333 rather than 400, default spd timings.
Computer started well. I put the 4th module back in, and all worked well till I did a cold boot today, and back to continuos beeps.
Now the only way the computer works if I just use 2 memory modules.
I tried manual voltage, manual timings, spd timings, timings on crucial's site, voltage on crucials site. No luck.
currently i am on 2*512 dimm 1-2, default spd and voltage and system seems to work.
whats the prob ? Is my memory bad, which I am not too sure off, bcos I tried running 2 modules at a time from the 4 matched pair, and tey seem to work.
Only the all 4 wont work, and 3 in also gives problem.
is this motherboard messed up ?
bcos I am really thinking of switching to a diff platform as since day 1, less than 1 month ago, this mobo is giving me probs with X2 dual core.

Alright, I updated the BIOS to the latest beta, modded by side effect.
put back the 4 modules in, and they are running now
    2-2-2-7 DDR 400 2.8V
though the HT is 3x unlike all previos times when it was 5x...anything to do with the probs ?
anyways, I still dont know how long this config will last, for I have has successful bootups in the past, but they end up failing later.

  • RoboHelp 9 gives an out of memory error and crashes when I try to import or link a Frame 10 file or

I have Tech Suite 3. If I start a new RoboHelp project and try to import or link Frame files, RoboHelp tries for a while, then I get an Out of Memory error and the program crashes.
I opened one of the sample projects and was able to link to one of my frame files without any problem, so it seems to be an issue with creating something new.
    Any suggestions?

It happens when I create a new project and then try to import or link frame docs to make up the content. It starts scanning, then crashes. I did get it to the conversion setting page once, but no further.
It does not happen if I open one of the supplied example projects and link a file. But then it doesn't let me choose, during import, any style mapping. And I can't delete the sample project fold
Twice now it has told me when I tried to import (not link, but import) that my .fm file could not be opened, and told me to verify that Frame is installed (it is) and that the file is a valid frame file (it is).
The docs and project are in separate folders on my C: drive.
