Built in microphone problem with my pavilion dv6 3017 tu

i am using pavilion dv6 3017tu noteboook. Few month ago days ago i have changed my laptop motherboard due damage. And now i am seeing that my inbuilt microphone phone is not working. I ahve checked everything. Suggest me. Thanks

First, I would like to clarify the scenario some.  You state "few month ago days ago" and the motherboard was changed.  Was the motherboard changed a few months ago and the microphone stopped working a few days ago or do you mean that the motherboard was changed just a few days ago and the microphone hasn't worked since then?
According to this, the unit came with FreeDOS as the operating system.  Is it still using FreeDOS or was it changed to a version of Windows?  If so, what is the current version of Windows installed?

  • No Audio problem with HP Pavilion dv6

I have an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC running on Windows 7 Home Premium. It is a 64-bit Operationg System.
Recently I noticed I lost audio from my speakers and I have no idea what has caused it. I tried testing the speakers and I recieved a message reading "Failed to play test tone". Strangely, my computer still plays Windows Sounds such as "asterisk" and "exit windows".  I attempted to watch a video on the HP website and I could hear audio from the video as well. The same thing applies to when I watch videos on other websites such as Youtube. I cannot hear audio from music/video files I run using programs I have and video games.
This is very frustrating. Please, someone help me.

    Hi,
Can you post back with the full Model No. and Product No. of your dv6 series notebook - see Here for a guide on locating this information.

  • Built in microphone problem with my hp pavillion dv6000

Hi, I was uninstalling a program on my add/remove programs list the other day and being in a hurry I accidentally clicked whatever software necessary for my built in microphone to work. I know it started with a C but I didn't see the whole title before it was uninstalled. I have windows vista and my notebook is a HP pavillion dv6000. Now when i open my sound recorder program it says " An audio recording device cannot be found". I'm almost positive whatever I clicked uninstalled my driver/software/etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hi,
I did a very similar thing and accidently disabled my internal mike. Now when I open my sound recorder, I get an error message saying "Audio recording device not found". Will be grateful if you could inform me of the solution to this problem.
    Thank you.

  • An urgent problem with HP pavilion dv6 (Touchpad)

    Hello guys
Please I have a problem in my laptop since a month  ago.
The trouble is that in many times when I open a file, document, or any internet browser, the vertical bar of the file moves down automatically to the end of the page without prompting from me to do  that.
As well as, (when I try to open any file on the desktop or any where else, my touchpad arrow prompts the shadow (when you select a file, this shadow appears a round the last displayed file on the desktop instead of appearing on the wanted file), so the result is the last file displayed on the desktop would be opened !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While the tapping feature in my laptop's Touchpad stops working suddenly, in this case my touchpad can select files by right or left clicking, otherwise I can not do any thing with the touchpad
Note ; I have uninstalled the touchpad driver , and reinstalled it again by automatic windows installation ( windows 7 do it automatically).    As well as I did a recovery to the laptop.   But the 3 problems still happening   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uninstall the Synaptics driver for the touchpad.
When Windows 7 tries to do it cancel it and manually install it yourself from the driver file you downloaded from the HP support web page.
I would have linked to the driver for you.
Product name or OS version were not provided  by you.

  • B520 Built-in Microphone Problem

We recently got a B520 77452MU All In One.  It includes a built-in webcam & microphone, and since right out of the box the microphone has recorded horribly.  It has very high background noise, kind of like a whirring static-y fan, so high that one might say the talking is actually the "background" noise.  We've tried updating the drivers and adjusting the microphone settings in the sound section of the control panel.  After troubleshooting extensively with the warranty tech support, they said it wasn't a normal problem and had us ship it in to try replacing the microphone (the particular model # we bought was not available to order by the time we received ours - it took a month to ship - so the sales rep couldn't just exchange it). That did not resolve the poor recording quality, even though the repair slip said the webcam/mic unit was replaced and passed the test, so we're thinking this must really be a normal weakness of the system.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Has anyone figured out a solution?
We like the features of the computer otherwise, so we're thinking about just buying an external microphone, but it is very annoying to have an "all-in-one computer" mounted to our wall with accessories hanging off it because it isn't really "all-in-one".

I have more info on my own situation (with a USB connected head set.) Net: the Rosetta Stone suggestions seem to have worked. I've listed the steps they supplied for Windows 7. I made two changes from what I had been recently using, highlighted in red under "Editorial Comments" in steps 9 and 12. That combination seemed to stop the background noise (feedback from a device?) in my talking during voice recognition.
I realize this doesn't directly address the original post about "B520 Built-in Microphone Problem" since i wasn't doing the same thing. The original symptom, though, seemed to be related.
The suggested steps with a USB headset for voice recognition with my annotations:
    1. Plug your headset into an available USB-Port.
    2. Open the Start menu.
    3. Click on the Control Panel.
    start menu
    4. If you're viewing the Control Panel by Category, click Hardware and Sound and then Sound. If you're viewing by Large or Small icons, click Sound.
    open sound menu
    5. On the Playback tab, highlight your device by clicking on it. Your device may be listed as C-Media USB Audio Device, USB VoIP Device or Other USB Device. (Editorial comment: my only USB choice was "USB VoIP Device", which was what I was already using.)
    6. Click the Set Default button. If there's a green checkmark next to your preferred device, it's already set as the Default Device.
    Set Default
    7. Click the Properties button.
    click properties button
    8. Click the Levels tab.
    9. Adjust the Speakers to 30.   (Editorial comment: mine had been set to 67.)
    10. Click OK.
    11. Click the Recording tab.
    12. Highlight your device by clicking on it. It should have the same name as the device that you selected in the Playback tab.  (Editorial comment:  my microphone highlighted had a different name, "Lenovo USB 2.0 Audio", though I had nothing else audio but my headset plugged into a USB connection. I  highlighted the "USB VoIP Device" name used in step 5.)
    13. Click the Set Default button. If there's a green checkmark next to your preferred device, it's already set as the Default Device.
    14. Click OK.

  • Problem with a Pavilion dv7 - Not Booting

    Hello,
I've a problem with a Pavilion dv7 wich is not booting.
When I turn on the PC the F12 key (Wireless) is fix and red and Capslock is blinking.
After search on the forum, I try several things, turn on PC without its battery, turn on without RAM module (2 module with no module, only on,...) but each time I obtain the same F12 red and Capslock Blinking continuously (1 per second).
If someone have any idea to help me I stay tuned.
    Thanks In Advance,
    Cyrille

    Hi Visruth,
I've clean the laptop with a compressed air bomb, so i don't think it's a overheating problem.
When I take out the hard drive I obtain the same symptoms, F12 LED Orange fix and Caplock LED flashes continuously (every 2 or 3 secondes). I did not find this combination (F12 Red + Caplock Continusly blinking) ?
For the record, this is the laptop of my stepmother and I am sure she did not make BIOS update ...
Anything else to help you to make the good diag ? A tools to boot with ? A hardware test to do ?
    Regards

  • No sound from built in speakers but headphones ok, pavilion dv6

    HI all,
Out of a sudden , after watching a youtube video, my speakers and headphone gave  noise when I was RE playing the video that I watched seconds ago.
I restarted my lap, and then didn't hear a sound at all
checked my drivers and updated them
the headphone is working fine. but when I unplug it I hear no sound from my built in speakers. though the drivers are working fine.
took my lap for maintenance to get it cleaned up and checked, they told me the speakers are connected and the wires are all fine! but the problem still exists.
they wanted me to leave it with them to be checked ... but I just didn't trust them since they suggested the sound card is damaged! if it was dagamed I don't think I'll be getting any sounds ! right ?
please, can any one tell me what could be the problem ? and how to solve it ?

running windows 8.1 for the past year

    Hi Chaand,
You can try installing this IDT High-Definition Audio driver, it is not for your model but it is a Windows 8.1 driver. There are no Windows 8.1 driver for your model. If installing that driver doesn't work then it is a most likely a hardware issue with the speakers and you should have either a local technician take a look at it or send it to HP for repairs. You can reach HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or start here if you live outside of North America.

I have had this laptop about 5 months and used the microphone and such now and all of a sudden there are problems with it. i cannot use it whatsoever. whenever i try to use or configure it it says something about configuring in audio, no device found...blah blah blah. • Built-In Microphone Problem

    Hi all -
I have the 13" Aluminum MacBook running MAC OS X 10.5.7. One thing (and only one thing!) that I've found rather annoying is the built-in microphone on this computer. I would like to use the microphone in a skype or gaming setting. I'm not exactly sure where the speakers are on this device... (coming out of keyboard? reflecting off screen?) but it seems the microphone fails to avoid picking up sound from speakers - which is fine, I can wear headphones.
However, I always get complaints from who I am talking to that I sound terrible (really great descriptions I know...) and that I am way too loud (possible feedback...) while I sit in a quiet environment. I turn down my microphone volume to the minimum in the software AND on the MacBook (System Pref -> Speech -> Calibrate -> Lowest) and get the same results. I'm beginning to think this is a hardware problem with this microphone as I do not feel I should be making my friends ears bleed every time I talk to them.
Thanks for any help/advice - if you need more info please ask.
    EDIT:
I feel like a fool. I just looked at some of the other topics that may be related to mine on this forum and saw someone talk about (syst pref -> sound). I checked it out and found - an additional? - Mic input volume setting - set to max... I toned it down and can't wait to try it out after work... Hopefully it should be good. (Previously only used Syst Pref -> speech -> calibrate). Silly me for thinking Mic was speech and not sound :\

    Hello, MSchiring
    welcome !
it mighht have been my post which you saw. Please make sure that the levelmeter,
the 15 little blue indicator in the Sound panel of Syst prefs, work fine. Usually, if you have them responding at the loudest sounds to just not the highest level, you should be fine.
    Hope this works

Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Have you updated your Premiere Elements 13 to 13.1 using an opened projects Help Menu/Updates? If not, please do so.
What type of microphone do you have? Classically, USB microphones do not work with the Premiere Elements (many versions) Narration Tool. However, there are scattered reports where the user claims to have used a certain brand of USB microphone successfully with Premiere Elements Narration Tool. Often the ReadMe files would mention this situation. Although I do not see that mention in the Premiere Elements 13 ReadMe, that does not mean that the problem does not still exist.
One workaround, if no alternative, is to create the narrations in a free program such as Audacity, and then import the narration (wav) saved to the computer hard drive into your Premiere Elements product with its Add Media/Files and Folders.
Please review and consider and give more details.
    Thank you.

You are requested to please help me in this regards.
Hello Muhammad Umar. This forum is for Dell owners to have a place where we can discuss technical issues with each other. If you are attempting to address a Dell representative, I urge you to contact Dell directly.
My own advice to you is to first re-install your Realtek audio driver from the Inspiron 3521 downloads page (make sure to select your operating system in the drop down menu).
If the problem remains, next install the native Windows audio driver. If that also does not fix the problem then you probably have hardware failure of the mic. In that case you should contact tech support (using the above link) and schedule a repair as per your warranty.

  • Microphone problems with IBM ViaVoice  OS X 10.4.6

    Hello,
I use a dictation program called IBM ViaVoice for medical dictation. It uses a USB mic called Andrea.
All was working fine until I upgraded to OS X 10.4.6 from 10.4.5 over the weekend, and come Monday AM, when I go to use the program it states "microphone is being used exclusively by another application", and no longer works in the app.
There's nothing wrong with the mic itself, and it checks out in the sound control panel
This is an older app. that IBM no longer directly supports. It still continues to be marketed and supported by a third party company. They "officially"don't support the product past OS X 10.2
I've tried changing configs. in the Sound and Speech control panels to no avail.
I "archived and restored" back to OS X 10.4.5 and it works fine again.
I have the same problem with a new Intel MacBook Pro (OS X 10.4.6) and thought it had to do with the the new architecture, but when this happened to the older powerbook, after the upgrade, obviously it's the software.
Anyone have an idea for a work around? I'd like to continue to upgrade my system and this program is a must for work.
Thanks in advance for any help

    Nick,
You might want to have a look at my post:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=431700&start=15&tstart=0
As we all know, ViaVoice is a rather quirky piece of software. For unknown reasons, reinstalls often seems to do miracles. But DO NOT FORGET to backup your "temp" and "user" files BEFORE YOU REINSTALL! And be sure to install the patch to version 10.2 (available on Nuance's site).
If you do a lot of dictating, you might also want to consider using a microphone set-up like the one I recommend in the thread mentioned above. I think it improves accuracy and it certainly frees me from the "can't find the microphone" and similar problems I had with my USB microphone. BUT … don't throw away that Andreas line-in to USB converter!! As I said, ViaVoice is quirky software. There are some situations (like creating a new voice model, if my recollection is correct) where VV insists on connection to a USB microphone. If you don't have one handy, you're out of luck. That's why that USB converter can be a godsend, even years after you've written it off to the cobwebbed corners of the basement.

    Hello.
I have very common problem with my soundcard audigy 2 ZS on windows 7 x64 with 8gb RAM. A week ago installed win 7 (was xp before) and noticed that my mic is not working. When I turn on microphone in output device i hear crystal clear sound from headphones, as input device it is not working properly. After reboot it don't work, no reaction on any changes. Usually after 5-20 mins I can hear signal from it (even when I'm not doing anything). Still sound quality is terrible, lots of noises and bugs. So I can't use it. After reboot mic not working again.
My microphone is fine, soundcard also worked on XP without problems (almost all A2ZS users have same problem). The latest drivers was installed on clean, fully updated Win 7 Ultimate. Tried danielK pack. Still no results, this is about 2 years old problem with drivers and I want to know any realistic way to solve it. All post on forum are outdated, or don't have any useful info.
