Built in Storage media ERROR

Blackberry Torch 9800 v6.0.0.246, platform 6.4.0.105
Hello,
I receive a Blackberry Torch for Christmas.  It was working great until I connected it to the computer for first time and did the updates and backup suggested.  I now get the message "Built in storage media is not accessible due to fatal errors".
I also lost all the ringtones.  Being a non-techie I did not connect the two.  The next time I connected to the computer to backup etc and to download ringtones because mine were gone, all the wallpaper that comes with the device was gone.  I have connected again to back up my blackberry and
tried to restore to see if that helps, it does not.
I did try to reformat my Built in storage media but it did not get rid of the error message and now I do
not even see built in storage media coming up when I am in device options.
Can anyone help me?  Should I be returning this device or can the problem be fixed?
Thanks

Still haven't found a solution online.  Phoned BlackBerry head office today and had them transfer me to a tech who provided 3 options:
1) go to this website and search http://ca.blackberry.com/support/
2) Contact Telus, since they have people trained by BlackBerry - if they cannot solve it, ask the rep to call BlackBerry - they can do this via conference call
3) Pay BlackBerry tech, cost $50/hr
also came across this posting:
http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=KB26025&sliceId=2&cm...
part of the resolution is "Locate the affected file and remove it from the BlackBerry smartphone. If the error continues, then complete the following steps to format the internal memory on the BlackBerry smartphone."
How do I locate the affected file?

  • Konqueror not showing storage media content

    Hello,
    I have this problem with the new kde 3.4.2 and the 3.4.1-? that was out before it.  It was working before that.
    The problem is that files/directories are not shown for CDs in the Storage media section of konqueror and once mounted, the device stays busy until konqueror is closed.
    In more detail:  If I open konqueror in file management mode and go to the services tab -> Storage media, I can see the cd-rom disk.  If I click on the icon, it mounts the drive (verified by doing an ls of /media/cdrom before and after) but no files are shown in the konqueror window.   I can go to the root folder tab and navigate to /media/cdrom and the files are there and can be copied to disk, etc.
    In konqueror (back in services->Storage media) right clicking the icon to eject fails with an error box.  If I try to unmount the drive on the command line, I get a 'device is busy' error until I exit konqueror, then it works.
    I tried running konqueror from the command line, but it does not show any relevant messages.
    I use udev, dbus, hal.  No special udev rules or symlinks, just the arch default.
    ls -l /dev/hdc
    brw-rw---- 1 root optical 22, 0 2005-07-22 04:31 /dev/hdc
    ...and my user is in the optical group (obvious since I am able to mount/unmount by hand).
    Any ideas?

    I didn't have the storage problem (anymore...), but kdebase 3.4.2-3 solved other problems for me (being unable to enter some directories from Konqueror, and dog slow audioCD rips via the VFS).
    Well done, nonexistent packager!
    The only quirk ATM is that kscd does not "see" any audio engine anymore (BTW this also applied for the previous kdebase version), it does read the audioCD and starts playing back, but remains silent...
    Since kaffeine, or Amarok works (the latter only with the Arts engine- gstreamer and xine seem unable to use the KDE VFS) this isn't much of a problem, just wondering why kscd can't spot artsd...

    1.Instead of receiving this form content via email,  I just need a

  • "Add Media Error" - Premier Elements 7

    Question for everyone.
    My laptop (with P.E. 8) is in the shop so I am using my P.E. 7 edition on my home computer to create a simple project.  After attempting to add a four media clip (by the way, all 4 clips are very small, short), I am getting this error pop-up:
    "Add Media Error - There is not enough memory to add the requested media."
    Now, I can tell you that on my computer, 90% of my work is sitting in an external, 2 terabyte hard drive.  I have over 200 Gigs of free space on my home computer.  This new, short project is the one of the only projects currently sitting on my desktop.  There is no way that I am out of memory.
    Currently, while typing this question on this forum, I'm defragmenting my hard drive and doing a disk clean up.  Perhaps my settings are off?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    David

    First, go to the http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/hardware_forum and click the link just above the messages to read several articles
    The aim in that forum is mostly CS5, but still some very good information
    Second, figure out the computer you need based on the camera you select... BEFORE you buy the camera
    This message has a really good graphic about requirements

    My CS5/AVCHD 1st Impressions http://forums.adobe.com/thread/652694?tstart=0 includes a link to the computer I built... since the GTX 285 is no longer sold, I would now go with a GTX 460 or whatever is the current "best bang for the buck" - AND I would buy 4Gig-by-3Sticks memory to be able to expand from 12Gig to 24Gig if needed
    For my home hobbyist, family movies (which means that I am not trying to recreate Star Wars with video effects or many layers) AVCHD editing is "as smooth as spreading warm butter on hot toast" (also the MP4 video from wife's Flip camera)

    Judging by the transcript snips that you provided, I also believe that this is caused by a bad drive or bad media.
    Start by looking at the output of the command :
      # obtool dumpdev <tape_drive_name>
    (replace "<tape_drive_name>" by the name of the drive which was used during the failed job).
    Look for any errors or warnings during the date/time the backup job failed. These message usually provide a good idea about the problem that occurred.
    Next try the same backup using the same media in another drive to see it the problem reoccurs or not. In case the problem reoccurs, there's a good chance that the media is bad. If the backup succeeds on another drive, then try the same backup using the original drive but with a new media. If the backup fails again on the same drive using new media, you should open a support request with the tape drive vendor. In that case, collect the logs from the tape library (and dump the tape drives is possible).

  • Built-in Storage Issue (Other at 99%)

    Hi everyone,
    I'm having an issue with my Blackberry Torch 9810's storage. I took my phone into Bell and all they could say was "Oh, that weird! I don't know, I've never seen that before."... Basically they weren't much help, so I thought I'd post here and hope for better luck.
    I noticed a while ago that my phone's built-in storage was practically full at 99%. About 50% was video and pictures, and the rest was listed under "Other". I couldn't figure out what "Other" was so I ended up buying a media card and transferred all my pictures and videos to it to free up space. Well immediately after doing that, my built-in storage read 99% for "Other".
    I went into Files, and clicked properties for Device (it says it is 99.82%; 6.2 GB of 6.2 GB used). I then opened the device and checked the properties of each folder:
    - Blackberry (8.4 MB)
    - files (70.7 MB)
    - fonts (38.9 MB)
    - home (12.4 MB)
    - start.app (30.8 MB)
    - all single files in Device (roughly 14MB)
    Seeing as that all adds up to only 175.2 MB, I'm not sure where this "Other" could be coming from?
    My calendar is also acting up. I have it set to save my appointments for forever (there aren't many and only date back to June), but every couple of days they all disappear and I have to restore my calendar using Blackberry Protect. I'm not sure if maybe my phone is deleting them to create space.
    Sorry this was so long! Hopefully it's not confusing. Any help would be appreciated

    Have you tried a battery pull?  This has happened to me a few times.

  • How can I export an iMove Project if the Event file was deleted?  (Missing Media error message)

    Deep iMovie question:
    I accidentally deleted various EVENT files from my iMove EVENTS folder.  Yes, they are really gone ... this is NOT a matter of restoring them from the trash.
    The projects are still there ... I can still watch the projects as long as I am in iMovie ... but if I try to export the Project I get the MISSING MEDIA error message.
    Logic tells me that if I can view the project ... the  file has to be SOMEWHERE inside my computer ... else I couldn't be watching it ... right?  I mean what am I watching if not some file somewhere which has moving pictures stored in it?
    So HOW do I get to something I can export?  What am I watching when I watch the project?
    I have iMove 08 on iMac with OS 10.6.8
    Normally works great for my simple needs ... except if you move or delete an event file ...
    Can anyone out there help?
    thank you,
    Natasya

    If you don't have the original files then I'm afriad you don't have anything to work with.

  • Error -2500 Internal storage VI error

    Hello,
    I am trying to continuously stream data from seven channels from my NI USB-6211 DAQ card. At the same time I am generating a continuous sine wave and write it to one of my analogue outputs on the same card.
    I’d like to stream the data generated and measured continuously and simultaneously to a file. I have chosen TDMS as this seems to be most appropriate for the application.
    The problem I am having is that available samples per channel gives me back 0 when I am not in highlight execution. I tried to overcome this by setting the samples to read input at the DAQmx Read VI to -1 and have a wait function to not read too often but this didn’t help. Furthermore, I installed TDMS 2.0 without any success. The error I am getting is -2500 and it says "Internal storage VI error". Does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong?
    Also, it would help quite a lot if I could have a time axis for the analogue output and one for the analogue input group so I can look at the time delays introduced by my circuit. Does anybody know how to do this, so I have a time stamp for each sample like in the express VI? Or any other way to find the relationship between the data of the two groups when sampling is carried out at different rates?
    Thank you very much for your help,
    Sophie

    Ok, so I wasn't sure what you ment exactly. I have tried to do the same with just the TDMS VIs. It seems to be working fine. I don't get any errors and the TDMS file seems complete too.
    I had the feeling DAQmx Read (just the one in the upper loop) gives the error as it doesn't seem to detect any samples to read. Which would also explain why I don't get the error in highlight execution, because then there are samples to read.  This is why I added the wait VI in the loop and made it 3s hoping this will allow some samples to be collected in the buffer but there just don't seem to be any samples.
    I have attached an image of the TDMS VI I just tried out, I can add more things if you have any ideas...

  • Internal Storage VI error

    I am acquiring multiple channels at 5KHz (continuous) and down-sampling some of them to then store using the storage VIs. There is also some online signal processing (i.e. FFT) and visualization. On the block diagram I open a file using the event structure on a button press and then my acquisition loop includes the Write Data subVI. But it seems the overall speed of the VI slows down considerably when recording starts and even seems to fall behind acquisition speed (graphs show changes in waveform later than when they actualy happened). I then get an error that shows up periodicaly at the storage VI that says "Error -2500: Internal storage VI error" and thats all the info I get. When that error happens I think I also loose some data evident from warnings I get on my filters that notify me the data has lost continuity. Something is wrong but I can't figure out what. HELP anyone? Thanks.

    No, I am not opening and closing inside the loop. I open the file outside the loop via en event using "Open Data Storage" VI, and then I am using the "Write Data" VI (TDM format, writes 2 files, one XML and one binary if I understand correctly the format). The Write Data is used inside an acquisition loop that collects 7 (or 9) channels at 5KHz (500 samples per loop, so 0.1sec of data per loop) but then resamples two of these channels down to 400Hz and 50Hz respectively, the rest stay at 5KHz. So yes, I am streaming the data and I assume it writes it in blocks on each loop (not byte at a time).
    Does this help clarify?

  • Capture Media error in javascript level

    I am new in strobe media playback and OSMF. I notified that there should be calls in Flash for media error event (eventMaps[MediaErrorEvent.MEDIA_ERROR]). Could I retrieve the error ID, error message in javascript level, by adding listener in the callbacks of javascriptCallbackFunction, as similar as below
    function onJavaScriptBridgeCreated(playerId) {
         if (player == null) {
                                                           player = document.getElementById(playerId);
                                                      // Add event listeners that will update the
            player.addEventListener("durationChange", "onDurationChange");
                                                           player.addEventListener("complete", "onCompleted");
                                                           player.addEventListener("mediaError", "onMediaError");
    if it is right, what is the signatures for javascript function onMediaError? Thanks very much

    The OSMF/SMP player will toss error messages out to another JavaScript function by default - it looks for:
    onMediaPlaybackError  and if that function is present, it will pass the following 4 arguments:
    (playerId, code, message, detail)
    Listen for that and you will get all you need on any error.

    Rob

  • Add Media Error

    i am extremely new to the adobe premiere elements 7 program and i have been having some trouble using it. i am a high school football player and i am trying to take game films from our season and edit them to create a highlight film to send to colleges. I have been trying to import the games off DVDs copied by my coach. The DVD files are .VOB and from what i understand this is a supported format for this program. However, whenever i go to add the media, the files load and then the adding media window comes up but an error message comes up. This error window reads something to the extent of " add media error...The file type is either not supported or the prgram is missing a codec..." I know that the file type is supported so i figure that there is a missing codec. The weird thing is that occasionally after a few minutes, one of the files from the dvd will show up in the organize window. Only one file, not all of them (there are two files on each DVD, the first and second half of the game)will show up for SOME games. Can anyone give me insight into why i keep receiving this error or how i can fix the missing codec problem, if thats even the problem at all?

    If one of those VOBs is VIDEO_TS.VOB, then that isn't anything you can use, and you'll get that error message. Menus have 0 at the end of the filename, VTS_01_0.VOB, and will import but they aren't anything you can really use.
    Many people have problems working with files from DVDs, especially with audio being out of sync, and the recommendation is to convert the usable vobs to DV-AVI first:
