Bulk assign colors or flags?

is there a way to assign colors or flags to all the images in an Album?
For bulk flags I have advice to "select all "Meta Data > Flag" but if I right click I don't see a meta data option and if I click on the meta data tab i only have been able to assign flags to one image even though they are all selected.
Also I'd love to start assigning colors in bulk to images in Albums if this is possible. thanks

Hi Leonie.
I am trying this and the software is fantastic. Also your help is fantastic.
But some things in here are very tricky because it is so powerful.
For instance, can i please ask you if copying a version from an album to another album - will create two versions of the same image in the destination album (if there are versions of the same master in both)? i mean, in Finder it will ask me if I want to overwrite the file or if I don't want to move or copy or whatever.
If I am trying to consolidate two albums so that there are not duplicates in the final album, can i copy the ones in the first to the second and delete the first? Or will there be two versions in the final if these exist?
I am trying to test this but it is tricky since the images look very similar and I can't really tell at the moment which reference the same masters.
Is duplicating in this case always happening, never happening, an option I can decide upon?

  • How can I perform a bulk assignment to one Task

    Hi All,
I would like to allow all resources to assign some of their time to a cProjects Task (XXXX Implementation plan). How can I perform a bulk assignment to this task, instead of performing individual assignments?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Srini

Not quite sure I fully understand your question. When you go to the "roles" tab of a task you are allowed to assign multiple resources to a task either from the same role or different roles. The total work or effort for the task can be distributed accross the multiple assignments.

  • Loss of assigned color on OS X 10.7.2 and iCal 5.0.1

    Hello all,
Has anyone run into an issue where iCal 5.0.1 looses its calendar color on a subscribed calendar? I have 3 subscribed calendars and only one of them has retained its original calendar color. The other 2 have defaulted to a light grey color with a perforated border.  I have made a few attempts to change the colors back to the originally assigned color but without any luck.
Has any else experienced this or have any ideas I could try?
    Thanks,

Logic's preference files may have become corrupted:
    1. Quit Logic Pro
    2. In the Finder, press and hold down the "option" key then select "Library" from the "Go" menu
    3. Open the "Preferences" folder
    4. Drag the following files to the Trash:
        - com.apple.logic.pro.cs
        - com.apple.logic.pro.LSSharedFileList.plist
        - com.apple.logic.pro.LSSharedFileList.plist.lockfile
        - com.apple.logic.pro.plist
        - com.apple.logic.pro.plist.lockfile
These files will be re-created when Logic is next opened.

I have a different colored calendar for each member of our family. Unfortunately the colors for 2 of my daughters calendars are too similar for their liking!! Is there any way to change the currently assigned color for a specific calendar?  Hopefully we can resolve this family crisis.

  • Re-Color Art shifts colors around? How do I assign colors?

How do I get the Re-color art to leave the assigned colors where they are. I have an item that comes in various color combinations. When I select re-color art and click on a pre saved color group, recolor art remaps the colors to different areas. I have a bag line featuring different cloth colors and the thread is a different color than the fabric. When I click on the next color group the color for the thread is assigned to the fabric with no rhyme or reason. If I could change the item color by using this tool, then it would be massively useful when a minute change in the item occurs. Rather than having to change 200 templates 1 at a time, I would only need to change 1 template that has all 200 color groups stored in it. That saves thousands of dollars in tedious modifications. If the only thing that recolor art does is shift colors around and allow you to effect hues and saturations, then it's useless for my needs. Cute parlor trick though.

    Mylenium,
A bit touchy aren't we. The sarcasim is paletible. As for "prepare your swatch groups properly". The answer is yes. This is how I change colors on simple one or two color objects already. My statement had nothing at all to do with blaming any one or thing least not you Mylenium. I asked a question, which you obviously didn't read. If your not going to offer a solution or advice, may I make a suggestion Mr. Community Professional? Prove your acreditation and answer the question instead of playing protagionist. Just so you fully understand, here it is again in a much more simplified way...Right Mylenium.
Let's pretend your doing designs for a wash rag company. These wash rags have a solid field with different color trim. All of the rags are pastel in the field, and the boarder's are all in neon colors. Got it so far. I could slow down. Now, you have a total of 10 different rags. Each one you group, open up the Re-colr art menu, sample the colors in rag number one (Let's call this Peach Neon Green). Still with me? Then select new color group. We then name it Peach Neon Green and close the menu. OK  heres where it gets tricky. Now we create another rag and we color it Lavender and Electric Blue and follow the steps above just as we did before. Suddenly the phone rings and the customer wants to change the lavender and electric blue back to the peach neon green. (Lets pretend there are 40 or 50 color combinations by now.) Simple right! Just open the Re-color art! Right Mylenium! Wait! Why is the Neon green the rag color and now the Peach is the trim color? It is as though the tool is randomly assigning the colors where ever it wants. Get it Mylenium?
Some times we start to answer the question even before we fully comprehend it. Right Mylenium! Now be a good Expert of the community and go get me a Juice Box.
Do you understand now Juice Box? Oh, sorry that's my pet name for you.

  • Assigned color profile won't stick

I have documents I need to send to China for production and their assigned color profile doesn't seem to be saving. Under the "edit" menu I've selected "Assign Profile" and checked "working CMYK". Then I save and close my document. When I reopen the document to double check it's color assignment I find that half the time the file has returned to "don't color manage". I'm not doing anything differently but I keep getting different results.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Christy

    Hi,
I just want to sympathise with the China/Printer issue.
Most of my artwork goes over there and I want to rip my hair out with every new job. Steve is right that we as artists really should go by the printer's specs, but when dealing with a language barrier, not to mention a 12 hour time difference it's so far been imposssible for me to do. I keep a Pantone color picker at my desk and manually enter in the CMYK values. It doesn't always work though.
About your problem, the only thing I can think of is that you have images in your file that were RBG when placed in your file. It might not be what's going on, but something to check anyway.
    Good luck,
    Cherie

  • Is there any way to assign colored labels to events?

Is there any way to assign colored labels to events without having to create numerous calendars?

You can use numactl to lock any process to a NUMA node, but that only helps if your machine really is NUMA (AMD Opteron servers are, Itanium systems often are).
You should be able to enumerate nodes using:
    numactl -H
And lock the process to a node using for instance:
    numactl cpubind=$node_num membind=$node_num java MyClass
It is hardware dependent how many CPUs and how much memory you have per node. A common number of CPUs is 1-4 sockets.

  • How can I assign colors to calendar groups?

Trying to set up calendar in Mavericks 10.9.3.  The defaults are Blue = Home, Green = Work, Purple = Holidays  and
Grey = Birthdays.. until you uncheck some and they disappear.  I like that they've added Holidays-- saves us all from looking them
all up and adding them ourselves..      But when adding my own groups,  I'd like them in different colors
to make them stand out. However, they're all showing up as grey.  I can't seem to find anywhere where I can set up my own colors.
I wish Apple weren't getting so controlling. I know many of you want everything to synch up but........not everyone uses the
calendar for work or even wants to sync it with anything else.  Oh no!!
The Calendar app used to be simple and easy and you could set it up however you wanted. Thank you! I'm capable of doing that.
Doesn't appear so now and very group the same grey color, isn't very helpful!  I'd get rid of "Home" too but it's the only thing that
isn't grey besides Holidays-- since I eliminated "Work".   I don't know what "Home" is.  Since "Holiday" is purple, I want "Medical Appts."
in Red.  I want other things in other colors.  Can this be done?   If so, how?     If not, Apple, please give it back to us!
    Thank you.

OK...since writing the original post, I discovered that if I selected "New Calendar" from FILE drop down,
I could add all the groups I wanted. However,  each one is a new calendar. Each one is assigned a color
by Apple when the item shows up on my list with the blank box for me to name it.
I'd already entered numerous events so I went back to each one by simply double clicking on it on the
monthly calendar page that I had open, and the "info" window for that event opened. Then in the upper
right corner is a colored square where you can select the "calendar" you want that item on. Using ex.
mentioned in my first post, my Medical Appts. are now Orange (yuk!).  You scroll down your list to select the
one you want and the event goes to that "calendar"-- or color.
Now... the problem I have with that is you only get a COLORED DOT next to the event. IT ISN'T HIGHLIGHTED.
The only things apparently that can be highlighted are under  the "View" drop down:
"Show All Day Events",  "Show Declined Events" and "Show travel time". None of which I'll use except maybe
all day events. If you click it to show, a check mark appears next to it and the event becomes highlighted.
If you click a checked one it un-checks it, and it disappears completely from your calendar page.
Apple, please let us HIGHLIGHT in whatever colors we want. Or... give us the option for each new calendar
whether we want to "highlight" or simply add the colored dot. That works really well, especially for those of us
who use our calendar also as a kind of  journal.
If people want to sync them with other devices, then let them set the calendar on their various devices up the same -
same group names or same calendar names assigned to the same colors and...  highlight or dot.
Then when they sync them,  should sync the same.  It's a win- win. Everyone gets what they want that way...

  • Assign color to findTextPreference as object

I have a script that creates a color, applies it to a particular property of a number of styles (one after the other) and then searches for that property. This works just fine the first time I run it in an InDesign session, and usually the second and third times as well. However, at some point I find that it stops working, because when the color is assigned to the findTextPreference property it is assigned as a string that gets some numbers after it. So, I do something like this:
    var myColor = myDoc.colors.itemByName("testCol");
    myCSty.underlineGapColor = myColor;
    app.findTextPreferences.underlineGapColor = myColor;
However, if I then query app.findTextPreferences.underlineGapColor, it is a string, and that string will be something like "testCol 3" (it iterates upwards depending on how many times I've run it during a session). I can't change the string; assigning NothingEnum.NOTHING to the property and then reassigning the color just iterates the number again. In fact, even if I try to assign that color to a different color property, or to a findGrepPreferences color property, it continues to iterate the number. I so far have not been able to recreate this problem in a less complex script (I'm still trying), but I was hoping someone might have encountered this and might have some guidance.
I thought that the problem might be related to the bug discussed here: fillColor in find/change Preferences in indesign cs3 so I started adding my colors at the app level as well. This doesn't seem to hurt anything, but it doesn't help either. And trying to assign the color whose parent is app to my findTextPreferences property just gives me the error seen there (I guess that means the bug was fixed? I'm not sure.)
Is there any way to force the findTextPreferences properties to accept an object rather than converting that object into a string? Or is my problem too vague and unrepeatable to help at this point?
    Thank you!

Upon further testing of this, it seems like the issue is rooted in one particular document which, if open, can experience this problem or cause it to occur in other documents (like it's polluting the session). I have no idea why, but since I can't provide the file it's not something anyone is likely to be able to recreate or help me with. Not sure if I should delete my question or close it, or what.

  • Colors of flag follow a path like a road Photoshop CC 2014

Say the stripes/colors of the italian flag. Like a road the stripes follow a path. How?
I tried making a pattern by making a skinny selection through the stripes.
If I make a path and say stroke with pattern it either:
creates rows of colors as if the pattern repeats down the page and the path reveals it
    OR
if I turn on impressionism int the pattern menu  it makes a series of color blobs that vary in length and color.
    Thanks !
    p.s. dont have illustrator

Photoshop does not transfer files nor import files. It can open files from any place that finder can access for files.
    This is the normal process:
You need to log into https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/catalog/desktop.html Download Center
Select the app you would like to start with
The Creative Cloud manager will install first.
When done installing, the Creative cloud (adobe manager) should open in the middle of your screen.
If no apps automatically start installing then click on Apps
Scroll down to the app you want to install and click the install button
Once the manager says it is done, you can start your app like you normally do with any other app.

  • How to assign color profile to scanner in ColorSync Utility?

    Hi,
I have run into trouble when trying to assign a color profile of my Epson 2480 flatbed scanner. I have a profile that came with the drivers, but every time I try to click on the device and change the Current Profile, the list of profiles available in the system Profiles folder only shows Apple generic profiles. I can't change the Default profile either (the blue dot next to the device profile list).
What can I do to change this? If you don't know the answer, can you point me to the best (in your opinion) forum where those issues are frequently discussed?
I'll continue my research in the meantime...

    OK, I answered myself...
ColorSync Utility was by default looking in the System/Library/ instead of the main Library/ directory. The path is almost identical and I got fooled by this.

  • Use two temporary tables to assign "color" to data results

Hi, Everyone... Here's a rundown of what I'm trying to do, any help is obviously appreciated...
    Example Tables and Data:
I have 5 Courses, each course has 2 assignments.
    with Courses as (
select 100 courseID from dual union all
select 200 from dual union all
select 300 from dual union all
select 400 from dual union all
    select 500 from dual
    ), Assigns as (
select 'test100' name, 100 courseID from dual union all
select 'test100', 100 from dual union all
select 'test200', 200 from dual union all
select 'test200', 200 from dual union all
select 'test300', 300 from dual union all
select 'test300', 300 from dual union all
select 'test400', 400 from dual union all
select 'test400', 400 from dual union all
select 'test500', 500 from dual union all
    select 'test500', 500 from dual
    select assigns.name, assigns.courseID from courses
inner join assigns on assigns.courseID = courses.courseIDI need each assignment to get a color assigned to it according to it's courseID. So my theory is that I'd have a temporary table with a list of colors; each courseID would get assigned a color but my question is how do I assign each courseID a color without anything to join the temporary table on? Once each courseID has a color, I'd join in Assigns so that each assignment has a color associated with it according to it's courseID.
    --Color table with 6 colors
    with Colors as (
select 'red' color from dual union all
select 'blue' from dual union all
select 'yellow' from dual union all
select 'green' from dual union all
select 'purple' from dual union all
    select 'teal' from dual
)I have a previous post about this but I didn't explain it well and to link to it would probably add confusion to this question... happy to delete that post if someone recommends it.
Thanks for any help! Running Oracle 11g.

    Hi,

Is the problem that you have more than 6 courses, but you want to color-code them with only 6 colors, and there's no telling which courses may be included in the results of a given query?
If so, you can do somehting like this:
    WITH     colors     AS
SELECT  'red' AS color_name     FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT  'blue'                FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT      'yellow'          FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT     'green'               FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT  'purple'          FROM dual UNION ALL
         SELECT     'teal'                FROM dual
    ,     colors_plus     AS
         SELECT     color_name
         ,     ROW_NUMBER () OVER (ORDER BY NULL) - 1     AS color_id
         ,     COUNT (*)     OVER ()                    AS color_cnt
         FROM     colors
    ,     course_assigns     AS
         SELECT  a.name
         ,     a.courseid
         ,     DENSE_RANK () OVER (ORDER BY  a.courseid)     AS course_num
         FROM          assigns          a
         INNER JOIN      courses      c     ON   a.courseid   = c.courseid     -- If needed
    SELECT     ca.name
    ,     ca.courseid
    ,     cp.color_name
    FROM     course_assigns  ca
    JOIN     colors_plus       cp  ON   cp.color_id  = MOD ( ca.course_num
                                                 , cp.color_cnt
    ;Typical output:
    AME      COURSEID COLOR_
    test100        100 blue
    test100        100 blue
    test200        200 yellow
    test200        200 yellow
    test300        300 green
    test300        300 green
    test400        400 purple
    test400        400 purple
    test500        500 teal
test500        500 tealIt would be better if you could create a real table like colors_plus.
If there are more than 6 distinct courses in the output, then 2 or more courses may be coded with the same color, but no color will be used N times (N>1) until all colors have been used N-1 times.
The assignment of courses to coolors is arbitrary. Depending on how fancy you want to make this, you might want to do something more complicated. For example, say you have 2 courses with 10 rows each, and 5 courses with 1 row each. The query above will have to assign the same color to 2 differenct courses, and it might assign the color 'blue' to the 2 courses with 10 rows each. The query above can be modified, if necessary, to assign the colors in order of frequency, to guarantee that the two 10-row courses get different colors, and that the colors are more evenly distibuted in general. I'll leave this as an execise. (Hint: use the frequency in the ORDER BY clause of DENSE_RANK. To get the frequency, use the analytic COUNT function in a sub-query. Why do you need a sub-query? Discuss amongst yourselves.)

  • Assigning Color Profile to source clip

I'm looking for a way to assign a color profile for a source clip which was rendered in AE as Rec 709 16-235.  The rendered file appears as 7.5 IRE to 100 IRE and but I'd like to interpret it and be able to 'tell' Pr I want to treat it as 0-109 IRE.  Is this there a way/does Pr support mapping black/white points / overbrights in this way?  I can't find any relevant links or documentation on this, nor any way to do this, so I think not.  Maybe there's a interpretation rules file somewhere?  I'm accustomed to Avid's ability to import as either RGB or Rec 601/709 and subsequently output overbrights, so I'm looking to replicate that functionality for a particular deliverable we're regularly required to deliver.  Thanks in advance!
    -Troy Murison
    Seattle, WA

We are having this problem as well. About 5% of the time, Color will choose to render the entire source clip instead of the clip used in the sequence.
Sometimes it shows the incorrect clip in the sequence and we're tipped off ahead of time that there's a problem. Sometimes it doesn't start until we look up and see that rendering is taking 45 mins for a clip.
We checked and we do not have anything on the motion tab for any of the clips which have been problematic.
Our workaround has been to create a new sequence and pop the messed up clip onto it and take it through Color again. Usually it works on the 1st or second try. We then pop it back into the original sequence in FCP.
For reference, we shot at 24PA using DVX 100 A's. We capture as much as we can at a time (with a Sony DSR-11), which varies depending on the tape - rarely does it come over in one piece.
We have experienced some sort of clip issues on occasion within FCP as well, and we wonder if the issues are related.
When upgrading from FCP 5.0-6 it destroyed a 23-minute documentary film by doing the following: a good percentage of the clips looked fine when playing in Canvas. When we would scrub it though (running the selector back and forth on the timeline), it displayed a different seletion from the source footage of the clip. Exporting the sequence would give us the wrong footage for the clip. It trippled the time to edit the film since we often couldn't see the real clip in the Canvas and thus had to work around this issue.
We continue to have this problem on a small % of clips, and were wondering if this may be related to the confusion that Color has. Currently we have to do 2-3 round trips in to color to account for all of the clips that come back messed up.
In addition to the wrong footage, we are often experiencing clips coming back 1-2 frames shorter or longer than they were going into Color.
It's been kind of a nightmare...

If so, how do I turn it off?

Sounds like you've applied a label. Put the playhead over the clip and press Shift-F to go to the master clip. Control-click on the master and switch off the label.
