Bulk mailing possible using address and information from Address Book?

Hello,
I'd like to send some bulk mailings utilizing data from Address Book like unique names, email addresses, and some other information in each message. Is there a nice clean way to do with with OSX components or iWork '09, or is some 3rd party software needed?

There are several 3rd party tools available -some of them are listed atemail.about.com. You can't do it with just Mail and AddressBook.

How to migrate addresses Mail remembers, into Address Book?

So I just discovered I could make mailing lists using Address Book, but that leaves me with a giant task. Since I started using Apple Mail, I've entered many addresses which Mail now remembers, but ... Mail does not automatically migrate the remembered addresses I've entered in its To/Cc/Bcc header lines, into Address Book. So, I will have to enter the addresses I want to put in a group, into Address Book manually, unless ... someone knows how to transfer Mail's remembered addresses (i.e. the dropdown choices Mail gives you when you start typing a name/address it has seen before) into the Address Book application.
Also I've never been able to determine if there is any way to delete or change the addresses which Mail remembers. I now have a bunch of addresses for people who have changed their email address, and their past addresses appear in the dropdown list when I start typing their name. Anyone know how to manage Mail's remembered addresses?

This didn't work for me. I highlighted a bunch of addresses in the 'previous recipients' list, clicked 'Add to Address Book' then closed out and looked in the address book. None of the names were to be found. Noting that the functionality of the 'add [address] to Address Book' dropdown is also missing, is there currently some incompatibility between Mail (v4.4) and Address Book (v5.0.3) that needs to be remedied?

Once you're on a spammer's list, there's nothing you can do to stop the flood of e-mail messages. You can either control it, using spam filtering (which is what files those messages in the Junk Mail folder), or you can throw out your e-mail address and get a new one.
It's sad, but spam is simply a fact of life at this point, and there's nothing to be done about it. Legislation has been tried, with zero success, since most spam either comes from countries with no legislation or from personal computers that have been infected with malware and are part of a "botnet."

How do I see a list of all my Apple Mail contacts. I do not use address book. I just want to see all the email addresses stored on my Mac

I have been using Mail for the past three years without need to send a regular mailing list mailout.
I now need to send group emails and all I want to do is browse my contacts aquired over the last three years to create a list. I have not used Address Book for anything other than phone contacts so please do not point me in that dirrection.
There must be a list of all email contacts stored somewhere on the Mac that I can look through. It is an almost impossible task to do this by browsing my inbox/sent folders.

0. find the user id.
    a. log in as that specific user.
    b. run terminal
    c. type "echo $UID"
    d. write down the user id that will be displayed
1. Go to the finder
2. go to the user home folder
3. click the box with the magnifying glass (upper right corner of the window)
4. type .jpg
5. a menu will pop under the magnifying glass box, select "jpg image"
6. click the "plus" sign that's displayed to the right of the word "save"
7. two pull down menus will appear, select "other" from the first one
8. a new window will pull down, scroll to "owner" and select it
9. back in the original window type the user id (a number) to the right of "owner" "equals"

Is it possible to get the information from the complete forms send to different email account

When i have a paid account is it than possible to get the information from the different forms send to seperate emailaddresses.
Who dont have a account from formscentral but just need the information directly in there own inboxes?
Because we're looking for a good and simple way to make qoustion & complain forms. But these need to go to different people in the company.

You can have notifications sent to multiple email addresses, but each will need to have a FormsCentral account. They can be free accounts. What you do is create your form and set up the email addresses that you want the information to go to to be Co-authors or Contributors. The co-author/contributor accounts will then need to log into FormsCentral, go to the Options tab and check the email notifications checkbox.

It is using the same database on disk. You may have to re-launch Mail.

Mail merge in Pages using Address Book - problem with fields

I am a fan of using the many of the Mac OS, iLife and other Apple applications together and just purchased iWork '09. I'd never done mail merges in previous versions of Pages, but I decided to try today with my Address Book data. I stumbled across some problems related to Address Book that have bothered me for some time and wonder if there is a simple go-around. Many of the cards in my Address Book have more than one line in the street address field. For example, they have street and street number in one line and the apartment number in the second. When Pages encounters such vCards in my Address Book, it doesn't know what to do and skips the next line of the address, which includes city, state and zipcode. I have also altered my Address Book template to include such things as the person's college (as I work with lots of college students), but this field is not recognized in Pages' mail merge feature. So, if I put the college name at the beginning of the street field in Address Book (which is what I have done until today), I can get excellent mail labels to print from Address Book, but I now I realize that this causes the mail merge problems in Pages described above. If I list the college elsewhere in the vCard, such as under the guise of "department" (an accepted field for mail merge in Pages), I lose the ability to get accurate mail labels in Address Book. Any ideas?

Add contact from Mail directly to Address Book group?

I am aware of adding a contact to Address Book by Control-clicking the email address, however I would like to add an address directly from Mail to an Address Book group. How is this done?

You first need to open the message(s) that have the addresses you want to add to Address Book, then select the Add Addresses… script from the Mail Scripts folder listed in the Scripts icon in the menu bar (you can activate this by launching the AppleScript Utility.app program in HD/Applications/AppleScript and check the box labelled "Show Script Menu in menu bar" if it isn't already there).
The script will launch and gather the information it needs about those messages, including the To: and From addresses and present them to you in a window; you need only check which ones you want to add and select the group you want them to go to from the drop-down menu it has and click Add or Okay, or whatever it has listed there to execute the script.
Rinse and repeat for each different group of messages you want to add to a specific group.

Setting up to locally use address book and iCal. (DNS)

Can anyone offer any insight in how I must set up my DNS when all I want to do is share Address Book, iCal and file sharing? I have tried to type in what I thought were the correct settings at DNS set up only to consistently get errors on client machines when trying to use iCal or when simply typing in their user name and password in system preferences ---> login, and I tells me the user isn't authorized.
Some one told me to just have the server self-reference itself by having the IP address and the DNS server address the same at setup as well as the search domain and primary DNS the exact same name. I used example.private for both but each time it seems the to make the Primary a FQDN so I assume this isn't possible.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

In addition to what Austin mentions, note that Address Book supports plug-ins that can extend its power beyond what the "stock" version affords. You can find a fairly comprehensive list of available ones at Hawk Wings - Plug-ins for Apple Mail in the Address Book section.
Among my favorites is the Google Maps Plugin for Address Book by Brian Toth, which adds the power of Google maps & Google directions to Address Book.
Moreover, Address Book supports plug-ins written in AppleScript, which makes it possible to do just about anything through the AB interface if you know how to write scripts, or can modify existing ones. Along these lines, check out the dialModemOSAX.dmg package, which includes an AppleScript extension for dialing phone numbers with a dial-up modem & an example script you can add as an AB plug-in, so you can use the dialing feature with land-line phones as well as Bluetooth enabled ones. Other useful plug-in scripts can be found at Apple - Software - AppleScript - iCal.

Using address book to print mailing labels

I am trying to print mailing labels using the addresses in my address book. In the past, I had a PC and was able to put in a title such as "The Smith Family" and it would be simply applied to all labels by exporting only the last name and of course the address. How do I do this using address book?

Here's a way to get somewhat similar behavior. Hopefully you can adjust it to get the best result.
1 - Select a card that you want to print
2 - Choose the Card > Add Field > Related Names menu item. If that menu item is grayed out, you can just press the Edit button
3 - Find the related names fields in the card. They have default labels of "friend" and "assistant". Click on one of the labels and change it to "spouse"
4 - In the field for the spouse label, type "Family" for example
5 - Press Edit to close the editor and save the card, then print
Now the envelope or label will be addressed "Bill Gates and Family".

Google them to confirm the settings that you need for the outgoing server, then check the setting you entered on the pad. Pay real close attention to the outgoing server name, and port. You may need to change in on the pad.
