Bulk Opt In

We have nearly 2000 registered members of whom expect an email from us daily.
The form they are registering on is automatically opting them out of newsletters etc.
Therefore every member on our database is not receiving their emails.
can you please do a bulk opt in on our database urgently
Business Catalyst - Bulk Opt-in of Contacts
Do you have an Adobe Business Catalyst website with a lot of customers you wish to Opt-In ?
You can request Business Catalyst to set the master opt-in on your site, so all existing customers are "opt-in" to your marketing emails. [Forum thread here]
Send a support ticket to Business Catalyst to have them turn on the master opt-in option for your website and ask them to opt-in your entire database at the same time.
What is double opt-in ?
When a customer signs up to a newletter list on your website, Business Catalyst automatically sends the auto-responder to the customer. The tag {tag_verificationurl} in the auto-responder email is replaced with a link the customer clicks to confirm they want to receive your newsletters. This is known as double opt-in.
What if the customer does not click the verification link?
If the customer does not click the link, they will not be receive your newsletters unless you force opt in for their account in the admin panel, or have used the bypass double opt-in feature in your webforms, or have the master opt-in turned on by BC support.
What if I've turned off the auto-responder for a form?
If you've disabled the auto-responder on your form, the verification link will not be sent to your customers. In this case you will need to either:
use the force opt-in feature on your webforms
or ask BC to opt-in all your customers
or opt-in your customers individually
Why does Business Catalyst use double opt-in?
Business Catalyst uses double opt-in to comply with anti-spam measures and legislation, but a lot of websites have a Newletter Signup form or similar where customers are expressly wanting to join in to your marketing list.
By default all newsletter forms are double opt-in and there are a few things you can do to skip this process.
How to: Force Opt-in on Newsletter Subscription Forms
To ensure your customers are going to receive your newsletters when they subscribe, you need to add the force opt-in parameter to your form.
Edit your newsletter forms and add &OPTIN=true to the end of the form action ( <form action="..." )
All new subscribers will then be opted-in as soon as they subscribe to a newsletter using this form.

When testing the export feature I'm able to see the opt-in status in both the customer report and the subscriber list via excel.
Reports -> custom report
Email marketing -> mailing list
If needing a master opt-in please provide the site url in question and we'll action this for you.
Kind regards,
-Sidney

  • Bulk upload into an existing email newsletter database

    Hi,
I would like to do a bulk upload into an existing email newsletter database.
When I export the database that I want to update, the file format is:
Full Name | Email Address | Opt-in Status | Subscribe date
However, the file format of the entities basic import file is:
    Email Address
    Title
    First Name
    Last Name
    Company Name
    Custom Date
    Which one should I use?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Christina,
You need to use the file format of the import file, always.
Otherwise you'll end up with customers that have email addresses as name and names as email addresses.
Let me know if you run into any issues.
    Thanks and regards,
    Florin

  • User defined Number range for TD Bulk Shipments

    Hello,
By defining Customer specific logic with certain conditions through Z table, can we have a user defined Number range for TD Bulk Shipments? As SAP std. either we can have internal number range or external. If external is opted for, then every time User has to specify the same while creating a Shipment in O4F1. There is a every chance that Users will commit mistakes. In order to avoid this can we have something automatic (i.e. System will take care).
e.g. In SD Billing we have one User exit:- USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE (Module pool SAPLV60A, program RV60AFZZ). With this and depending upon certain conditions (which are maintained in Z table) we can have our own number range.
Similarly, Can any one please suggest either a User Exit or  BAdi or some enhancement point for this requirement?
    Regards,
    Aniruddha.

    Hi Anirudhdha,
There is no standard exit for number ranges like those in SD. However, you can try using the exit EXIT_SAPMOIGS_001 for this purpose. You will still need to enter internal number range in the shipment type configuration.
    Hope this helps,

  • Bulk email from the database

    Good morning,
Running Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.8.0 - 64bit Production... (we'll be upgrading to 11g soon, but for now, stuck with 9i)
Our clients have requested an email subscription service to be implemented for our news web site. The anticipated load will be:
one module to support the following:
    - 3000 emails, with up to 50 instant email notifications an hour... so 150,000 emails delivered per hour. Email is sent as soon as new article is posted. (articles are embargoed and go live once embargo has passed)
The other module is a open subscription form with double opt-in for the general public... with choices of instant email notification, daily digest or weekly digest or news article postings. the anticipated load is difficult to estimate for this one, but we could expect 50,000+ subscriptions... with up to 500 article posting per day. end users will have the ability to customize their subscription based on audience, department etc...
In summary, we're looking to implement a solution that can deliver hundred of thousands of emails a day.
As an Oracle developer, I always look first to the DB for solution. I know in 10g and up, utl_mail is available... not so in 9i. I do have a sample mail package from OTN that seems to do the trick. Emails will need to be sent as HTML, since they will contain a small image reference.
Some potential ideas I have considered so far:
    for instant email notifications:
    - setting up queue tables and DBMS_JOB to monitor every minute and send email out to recipients using PL/SQL mail procedure
    - using Oracle AQ to manage queues, publish the payload with complete article information, subscriber will dequeue messages and send out using same PL/SQL email procedure. Messages in the queue will have delay set to article embargo date, to ensure articles are not emailed ahead of publishing.
I have never worked with Oracle AQ before, but it seems to offer some benefits and more intelligence than a custom solution. I have also considered setting up a new Oracle instance for sending out emails, to offload some of the work from the main instance feeding the news web site.
the daily and weekly digest emails are not as big a concern at this point, since they will be processed during off-peak hours, and will run once day/week... the Oracle AQ solution I thought would be an elegant and scalable solution for the instant notifications...
My major concern at this point is scalibility and performance... I will rely on bulk processing in SQL to collect data... looping through the arrays to send out emails, as well as building up the email objects and sending them out in time is a concern.
Given the potential volume we'll be dealing with, is a solution in Oracle the proper way to go? Our organization don't have an enterprise solution to this of course, so we have to build it from scratch. Other environments/tools at our disposal, Oracle 10g (10.1.3) application servers running Java ... could use JavaMail... our current set-up is 2 load-balanced application servers, with multiple OC4J containers running on each.
Thanks for any tips or advice you may have.
    Stephane

Bill... thank you for taking the time to respond in such a detailed manner. This is greatly appreciated. I have passed this along to our DBAs and messaging experts for review.
I'm tasked with modeling the DB and optimizing it so it can achieve the target performance levels.

Each SMTP conversation (from UTL_SMTP or UTL_MAIL) requires a socket handle. This is a server resource that needs to be allocated. The o/s has limits on the number of server resources a single process can use and that a single o/s account can use. Does not help that you have a scalable design, scalable code, and the server cannot supply the resources required to scale. So server capability and config are quite important. We've gotten our Unix specialists to look into this... we've been told our current platform is limited, and no further upgrades will be allocated, since we'll be moving to a newer platform in the "near future".
There's also the physical network itself - as that 100,000 mails will each have a specific size and needs to be transported from the client (Oracle db server) to the server (mail/smtp server). The network must have the capacity and b/w to support this in addition to the current loads it is handling. Our network analysts will be putting us on a segregated network (subnet) to avoid impacting the rest of the organization... although bandwitdh is shared at the end of the day, we'll be somewhat isolated, with perhaps even our own firewalls and load balancers.
You will need to look at a couple of things to decide on how to put all of this together. How are e-mails created in the database? Can they be immediately transmitted after being committed? Is the actual Mime body of the e-mail created by the transaction, or it is normal row and column data that afterward needs to be converted into a Mime body for mailing? The scheduling of emails are tricky.... articles are sometimes posted (comitted to the DB), but still under embargo... we plan to use this embargo date (date on which article goes live/public) as the "delay" in the job scheduling. At that point, article is emailed to thousands.
For instant notifications, all recipients get the same content, article content direct in email. There custom pieces to include, eg unsubscribe link with unique identifier, edit subscription etc... but these bits could be pre-generated and stored with the email subscriber info, and appended to the mail body. No images or other binary files are embedded or attached... so we're dealing with mostly text/html in the body.
Scalability is a direct function of design. So you will need to design each component for scalability. For example, do you create the Mime body dynamically as part of the e-mail transmission code unit? Or do you have a separate code unit that creates and persists Mime bodies that then are transmitted by the transmission code unit? Instant notification html email composition is a bit simpler. It gets tricky with daily, weekly, monthly digests. Here we have to assemble thousands of custom email bodies, based on subscription options (up to 5 custom fields, to configure subscription content)... from there assemble each individual mail body based on current subscriber options, then send the email.
Mail bodies are potentially different for each individual subscriber, given the various permutations of selections, so really don't see how a body can be persisted for re-use when emailing, each may be single use only. In this case, looking at assembling thousands of emails, then emailing each one in a loop.
Do you for example queue a single DBMS_JOB per e-mail? There are overheads in starting a job. So do you pay this overhead per mail, or do you schedule a job to transmit a 100 e-mails and pay this overhead once per 100 mails?for instant notifications, we'd be queuing a job for every article posted. From there, every email subscribed to instant notifications, and matching their subscription configuration to the article, will be retrieved and email sent.
So there are a number of factors to consider ito design, how to deal with Mime bodies, how to deal with exception processing, how to parallelise processing and so on. One factor will need to be on how to deal with catchup processing - as there will be a failure of some sorts at a stage that means processing is some hours behind. And this needs to be factored into the design. An email job that fails half-way through concerns us... how do we proceed where we left off etc... may have to keep track of job numbers etc...
The other option we're considering, is clustered Oracle 10gR3 application servers... to process and send the emails, using JavaMail... there is still an issue with Oracle handling the query volume required to assemble the customized emails for each subscriber (which could reach 50,000 within a year or two)...
I would not select that as an architecture. This moves the data and application away from one another - into different process boundaries and even across hardware boundaries.
When using PL/SQL, both data processing (SQL layer) and conditional processing and logic (PL layer) are integrated into a single server process. There is no faster way or more scalable way of combining code and data in Oracle. It does not matter how capable that Java platform/architecture is. For that Java code to get SQL data means shipping that data across a JDBC connection (and potentially between servers and across network infrastructure).
In PL/SQL, it means a simple context switch from PL to SQL to fetch the data.. and even that we consider "slow" and mitigate using bulk processing in PL/SQL in order to decrease context switching.
The fact the the data path for a Java app layer is a lot longer than for PL/SQL, automatically means that Java will be slower.totally agree with this. We're having a meeting this morning with all parties to review and discuss the points you have raised, and see if the required resources can be allocated on the Unix side to accommodate the potential load.
    >
I'm looking at leveraging materialized views (to pre-assemble content), parallelism (query and procedural), Advanced Queuing (seems complex)... AQ is not that complex.. and perhaps not needed. You will however need a form of parallelism in order to run a number of e-mail transmission processes in parallel. The question is how do you tell each unique process what e-mails to transmit, without causing serialisation between parallel processes?
This can be home rolled parallelism as shown in {message:id=1534900} (from a technique posted by Tom on asktom that is now a 11.2 feature). You can also use parallel pipelined tables. Or use AQ. I'm pretty sure that a solid design will support any of these - modularising the parallel processing portion of it and allowing different methods to be used to test drive and even benchmark the parallel processing component.
If using AQ, we're considering a separate Oracle instance in a different AIX partition perhaps, which could manage the email function. Our main instance (which feeds our public web site, and stores all data), would push objects onto the queue, and items would be dequeued on the other end in the other Oracle instance.
It however sounds like a very interesting project. Crunching lots of data and dealing with high processing demands... that is the software engineer's definition of fun. :-)Indeed... I wouldn't consider myself as a software engineer at this point, but perhaps after this is done, I'll have earned my stripes. ;-)

I have some problem in BULK binding.
See below code, we have three columns in pl/sql record and table based on that record is populated with rows.
Now requirement is like, I want to store two of the columns in table with the help of FORALL statement.
So tried with below code. But it is not working.

  • Bulk downloads online - best method???

We are intending to build a bulk download system for one of our clients. The intention here is,
    1) User would click download button
    2) The system would go to the database picks millions of records and present in a .csv format so user can save it in his local desktop. This process would take about 20 minutes [after efficient tuning of sql procedures and tables].
I just want thoughts from you on the best way to present this to the user and what is the best way to implement this?
Any thoughts would be of great help!!!
    Thanks...

There can be better deals online than at a store but it really depends on the phone. For example, if you purchase the Samsung Fascinate or the Droid 2 online, you still have to do a mail-in rebate on both devices which means that you have to pay the full 2 year contract pricing at first and then mail away for the rebate cards to get the $100 rebate back on both phones. There are other phones which have instant rebates online though which is why many assume purchasing online gives you the best deal. I did want to let you know, the NE2 discount is only for the Primary line, not ALL of the lines. So that means that only that line would get the extra $100 discount off of the 2 year contract pricing online.
Also, if you opt to change your plan, if you completely move away from the Connect Plan, you won't be able to go back to it as VZW no longer has these plans. You will be opting into at least a $29.99 data plan per smartphone. The other lines, the ones you don't want to upgrade right now, will still be capable of upgrade. Those are on a per line status and are not affected by price plan changes. They only disappear if they are used.

  • Bulk export External Activities?

    Hello,
I'm using the rest api to create activities for unsubscribe.(we have some form hosted on our site and some in eloqua, I'm trying to handle an opt out on my site then make sure if i have a contact in EQ for the email that i opt them out in EQ as well. ) I can see the external activity has been added to the contact in eloqua's system. I'm now trying to use the bulk export to pull a list of Unsubscribe activities but my external activities never show up in the results.

    Hi Jonas,
Activities can be exported but external activities are not exposed via the API right now. They will be eventually.
We have customers who are generating external activities and are able to export the activity information by using our External Activity Generator App (External Activity Generator). Essentially they store external activity data in a custom object which is then used to generate external activities in Eloqua. This way they have a table of exportable data that they can get to anytime. Some also use our Custom Object Exporters to export these external activities to a database. (Database – Bulk Eloqua Custom Objects Exporter )

  • Can we send bulk email through exchange server 2010

can we send bulk email through exchange server 2010

You can do this however not sure I would recommend that since if people complain they are getting spammed it could effect your production servers domain/IP, i.e. it could get black listed.   Personally I always recommend using a different system for
email blast  to protect my production IP addresses and also to keep the load off of exchange as well as email marketing systems have built in capabilities for reporting, opt in/out capabilities etc.
All of that said perhaps you can tell us more about what exactly it is you want to do and how often?
Search, Recover, & Extract Mailboxes, Folders, & Email Items from Offline Exchange Mailbox and Public Folder EDB's and Live Exchange Servers or Import/Migrate direct from Offline EDB to Any Production Exchange Server, even cross version i.e. 2003 -->

  • Can you Bulk "Disable" Pages in a Template?

    Hi there,
Just new to BC - I'm creating a site from a template, which by defalut has about 30 pages "Enabled"... is there a way to "bulk enable" or bulk "disable" pages from within a template in BC?
I only want to use say 4 of the 30 odd pages in a template, do i have to manually go through each page to "Disable" the ones that I don't want to show?
There are check boxes to the left of the page titles, indicating that this type of thing "could" occur (ala wordpress)
    Am I missing something?
    Cheers
    Dave

Thanks for the speedy reply Liam
Reason for disabling and or deleting so many pages is i have used a template that has come with 60 odd pages.. we only need 5 or 6
To make it easy for end user to see only actual pages he needs to edit i want to delete or hide the unwanted ones.
This is a standard feature amongst all the leading open source CMS's so am a little surprised why you would be asking.
I am probably missing something obvious as I am new to BC so i stand open to correction.
Is this a feature really being considered by BC?   It was supposed to be near in 2012
    cheers

  • How can I debug a Bulk Insert error?

I'm loading a bunch of files into SQL server.  All work fine, but one keeps erroring out on me.  All files should be exactly the same in structure, but they have different dates, and other different financial metrics, but the structure and field
names should be exactly the same.  Nevertheless, one keeps konking out, and throwing this error.
    Msg 4832, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Bulk load: An unexpected end of file was encountered in the data file.
    Msg 7399, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
The OLE DB provider "BULK" for linked server "(null)" reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error.
    Msg 7330, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
Cannot fetch a row from OLE DB provider "BULK" for linked server "(null)".
The ROWTERMINATOR should be CRLF, and when you look at it in Notepad++ that's what it looks like, but it must be something else, because I keep getting errors here.  I tried the good old:  ROWTERMINATOR='0x0a'
That works on all files, but one, so there's something funky going on here, and I need to see what SQL Server is really doing.
Is there some way to print out a log, or look at a log somewhere?
    Thanks!!
Knowledge is the only thing that I can give you, and still retain, and we are both better off for it.

The first thing to try is to see if BCP likes the file. BCP and BULK INSERT adhere to the same spec, but they are different implementations, but there are subtle differences.
There is an ERRORFILE option, but it more helps when there is bad data.
You can also use the BATCHSIZE option to see how many records in the file it swallows, before things go bad. FIRSTROW and LASTROW can also help.
All in all, it can be quite tedious find that single row where things are different - and where BULK INSERT loses sync entirely. Keep in mind that it reads fields on by one, and it there is one field terminator to few on a line, it will consume the line
feed at the end of the line as data.

  • Creation of SO based on the input in table format  for bulk data : urgent

    Hi,
The data from an external system will be sent to SAP in a bulk format and also as a Table. i.e. they are going to send around 30 Purchase orders from external system . I need to fetch all of them at a time and create SO for each one .
Hence, anyone please provide a work around for the same.
    shyam

    HI Shyam
    Proceed as below:
    1. Identify the file layout like how it is going to be for multiple items.
    2. Upload the data to an internal table:
    3. Loop at internal table
    4. Populate the data required for BAPI structures
    5. AT END of PO number call a BAPI to create a Sales Order.
Make sure you are clearing/refreshing the structures/internal tables for BAPI.

    Hi all-
I created an action script for a watermark in Photoshop CS6. Then, I ran my script as a bulk action in Adobe Bridge (CS6) against my JPEGs. However, the JPEG Options dialog/window appears for every image in PS. Is there a way to have this automatically OK (and at the highest quality) so that I don't have to sit and click OK over and over?
I am on a Mac btw.

  • Bulk adjusting photos in Photoshop

This may not even be possible. I used to use Photoshop years ago but am quite lost with this new stuff.
I've got 100 photos of members to be used in a membership directory. All the photos were taken at the same location with the same background and lighting over a couple of days.
I didn't take the photos but looking at what was sent me some look to only need minor adjustments while others vary a great deal and look either much too red or yellow, I'm assuming it was a lighting issue.
Since I know these new programs have many new features I'm hoping that there is some way I can bulk edit these all at the same time or have some sort of Actions set so that it will apply the same adjustments to all to make them more uniform. If I got to go back and tweak a couple that's OK but as I said it's been years since I've really done anything with the program so I'm kind of lost.
I use InDesign quite a bit and just upgraded from CS2 to Adobe CS4 Design Premium to put this project together. Is there anyone out there that can offer a suggestion?
    Thanks in advance,
    TomKC
P.S. I see you can now upload images to the discussions. I'd be happy to upload a couple of samples if it might help with anyone's assistance.

Thanks so much for your insights. I will certainly try your suggestions.
I'm actually putting this together for my sister's church group.
I'm attaching some varying sample of the photos. These are the actual photos I received in full resolution. A couple they sent as video clips which I'll capture the stills from. My only guess is they pushed the wrong button on the camera.
My understanding is that they will be printed on an office laser printer but I'm not sure of the paper stock. Most likely some sort of bond.
Again thanks so much for any advice you or anyone else can provide,
    -Tom

  • Cannot move junk email to Bulk Mail folder in Yahoo, greyed out

I've searched but so far no luck.  Ever since I added my two Yahoo email accounts on my iPhone 4, I cannot seem to send junk email from my inbox to my Bulk Mail folder, it is greyed out.  First off, I've confirmed that the Bulk Mail folder on my iPhone is the same as my Spam folder in Yahoo mail on the desktop.  I can see the same emails in both folders.  Anyone have the same experience and found a way to correct this, or is this just a Yahoo limitation?

I am having the same problem, but I'm not very clear on how to follow the steps.
    went to my yahoo account in IOS;
    hit edit, hit "new mailbox" at the bottom right corner of the screen;
    entered a name;
    below that, it has "Mailbox Location", I opened it;
it list all my personal folders, I am stuck here.
How do I "point the mailbox location to the Bulk Mail folder", as instructed? Am I missing a step?
This is for iPhone 4S, with the latest released version. Thank you!

have been a Verizon customer since I got my first cell phone in my 30's - I am 50 now! A year ago, I stupidly opted to get a new phone on the EDGE program because I was trying my first Samsung device and was not sure I would like it having been an IPhone user for years.I was right! Or so I thought.... The Note 3 has been horrible. I am on my second phone(replaced it under warranty) and it still freezes, shuts off on its own, and will not come back on for long periods of time. Having had enough, I decided to EDGE Up to another device. On March 16th I tried to edge up my device online but was unable to. I immediately called to figure out what the problem was. Back in October I had a mix up in my billing where I had set up a payment. It was not done properly by customer service and as a result my line was cut off. I called the EXACT day it went off, filed a complaint about the lack of follow through for my arranged payment, and thought I had it straightened out as the payment was made that same day. That incident, although it was a Verizon error, caused my Edge Contract to be "hotlined". I spent an hour on the phone on March 16th clearing the whole mess up. When the conversation ended, the Verizon representative admitted it was a Verizon error, documented everything, and then told me she was filing a release for the hotline hold that would take a couple of days. Her name was Linda and I stupidly trusted what she said.
The days passed as I prepared to have a major foot surgery and to get my classroom straight before I would be out recovering for 3 weeks. All the time, my Samsung continued to glitch out like it has since I got it! While sitting on the couch recovering, I decided to deal with the phone issue again and EDGE UP. I figured 10 days latter, Linda would have taken care of the issue. Unfortunately, I faced the same problem and was told it was not eligible to edge up at this time. BACK on the phone again, 2 supervisors, 3 customer service reps. ( JOE from New York being the rudest customer service rep. I have EVER worked with) and 4 frustrating HOURS latter, Jason, the equally rude supervisor from Rochester, New York, informed me that Linda gave me BAD information, there was NOTHING he could do, and I am NOT eligible until April 14th!!!!! The WORST experience I have EVER had with a company. They were completely inept, rude, and not concerned about my time, my frustration, or the problems I was facing with their product in the LEAST. I have 4 LINES on Verizon that I am going to talk to Sprint about buying out. It was a horrible experience, and I can NOT believe I have no recourse or anyone to talk to....

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.
