Bulletin Board System...

This board really helped me out with a form email application
- I was wondering if it could do the same thing with suggesting a
bulletin board system?
1 - I am looking to implement a bulletin board into a
website.
2 - I currently use PHPbb on another site - but it's a bit of
an animal to implement and update.
3 - I was wondering - is there a better easier method? Or is
phpbb the way to go?
I don't want to pay for a bb service or product as this is a
pro-bono. I am worried about security - but have found that if I
hide a bb behind a passworded area (in this case an admin area) I
don't have any trouble from the bad elements. (this seems to be
easier as opposed to making the user register to use it.)
Any thoughts are appreciated.

& this Bulletin Board System must be in JSP or Servlet's or java tech

    Additional ,the Tuxedo and Weblogic were installed within different directorys,does it matter?
    Do you need more configuration info?

  • Re: Did you know: Playing radio streams from bulletin board

    a) Make a textfile with the url.
    b) Rename the file ending to .asx.
    c) Draw the file from the explorer to the bulletin board

    Yes! More or less! I am very happy!
    I'm using 9 desktops with "dextop". I've installed the multi-touch pack from microsoft with its "flicks". Panning is enabled in my firefox browser. It's a very good system.
    (I've disabled automatic rotation. There were to much bugs with explorer.)
    Sometimes the screen stops to react. The solution is the following: I hold down the hardware-key for ctrl-alt-del until the screen with the task manager appears. Then I touch cancel and everything works again.
    Bulletin Board is very cool with 9 desktops: All the windows of every screen appear in the list of open windows. So applications can easily be moved from one desktop to another one. And with bulletin board you can start applications on the desktop you want and play multimedia files.
    But in the last time I've sometimes a problem: When I restart the computer from standby and I touch the lower screen the cursor appears in the higher screen. I think that the problem is linked to the bulletin board. I've no good solution for the problem. I close the computer and restart it from standby and everything is fine again.
    The w100 is a very good computer. The dual screen is very useful. I can always switch the keyboard to the screen where it doesn't hide important informations.
    I can read big articles on two screens.
    For programming it is very useful too. With the panning I can go through the program text in Delphi very fast. I can insert the text exactly at the place were is belongs without mouse movements. I can move parts of text very fast. ...and I can work in my bed! With the visual C++ express editor the panning doesn't work very well. But the scroll bars are very reactif if I double click them.
    I like very much the bulletin board, but there are some bugs. It has much potential and could be a very rich platform for multimedia and social services. I can start directly my delphi projects from bulletin board with double click and open my browser from bulletin board directly at the right page.
    I take pictures of the digital edition of my news paper on the bulletin board.
    I'm waiting for the next upgrade of the bulletin board.

  • Using Keynote as community bulletin board- Can you overlay weather conditions?

    We want to set up a Mac Mini running Keynote 09 to use as our community TV station's bulletin board to run when we are off-air.
    Our old system software was only made for this purpose, so it could bring in (and overlay all the slides) with our local weather temps, etc. via our weather equipment on our roof.
    Is there a way do to this within Keynote while it is playing overnight?
    Thanks!

  • Re: Download Toshiba Bulletin Board for Windows 8

    My wife has a Satellite L870-18V running Windows 8.
    She has noticed me using my Bulletin Board on my rather older Toshiba Satellite L650-12Q (with Windows 7) and wants one!
    Is it possible to download Bulletin Board to her computer, as it is not pre-loaded on her system?

    The Toshiba Bulletin Board upgrade was available for notebooks which where preinstalled with Windows 7 and supports an official upgrade to Windows 8.
    Such Toshiba BB upgrade could be downloaded from Toshiba EU driver page.
    [Toshiba Bulletin Board v2.1.21 Windows 8 Upgrade |http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory =2&selFamily=2&selSeries=363&selProduct=7400&selSh ortMod=null&language=13&selOS=all&selType=373&year upload=&monthupload=&dayupload=&useDate=null&mode= allMachines&search=&action=search&macId=&country=a ll&selectedLanguage=13&type=373&page=1&ID=85103&OS ID=42&driverLanguage=42]
    But as far as I know Toshiba Bulletin Board is not available anymore for notebook which were released with Windows 8 or Windows 8.1

  • Bulletin Board boot  does not bring up services

    Hello,
    I am trying to create a new tuxedo server, i have built it successfully and have
    included the server name in the servers section of the Config File . The Config
    File was built to
    create the Tuxconfig file.It successfully created the binary file.
    Now i Boot my bulletin board and i get a message CMDTUX_CAT 819 Info .Process
    id nnnnn Assume Started(Pipe)
    I dont see this in my processes using tmadmin.
    Is there any step that i am missing..
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks
    Vijaya

    Vijaya,
    The process hasn't started correctly. Generally, "assume started" means
    that the server hasn't started!
    Has it core dumped? (Is there a core file in your appdir?)
    Does it need access to a shared library that isn't in your shared
    library path?
    If you run tmboot -i <your sserver's id> -g <your server's group> -d 1
    you will see the server's full command line. One wahy to debug it is to
    type that command line in and run the server from the shell prompt manually.
    I hope that helps.
    Regards,
    Peter.

    Hello,
    I am getting this error:
    No Bulletin board exists. Entering in boot mode
    And tuxedo does not boot saying Assume pipe for all the servers.
    Thanx in advance

    The AP has been converted to lightweight:

    The K9W8 is lightweight and K9W7 is autonomous.  You need a WLC for the K9W8.  If you have an autonomous image, you can convert it back:

  • GUI Bulletin Board Question

    Hello,
    I want to produce a simple GUI application that mimics a bulletin board. Where there would be a GUI that people could insert a message, and I could allow others to view the past messages and possibly allow some filtering as to what they see.
    I want to go from the GUI window to a text file to hold the past messages. After the text file I will probably move up to a DB, but for now, I think it is a good starter application.
    I am having trouble with the IO class, because of the so many ways to read and write data, and was hoping someone may give me some guidance as to the best way to handle the IO, (which classes) or point me to a tutorial where they are reading a line at a time, and possibly putting them into a collection and then showing it in a GUI.
    I know that is kind of a large question, but any assistance to get me started would be helpful, and then I can refine my questions as I begin building my project.
    Thanks for your time,
    Scott

    Check out:
    http://www.javacoffeebreak.com/java103/java103.html
    and
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/essential/io/index.html
    I used the above links to come up with the above code to write to a file:
    try {
    FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream("SearchTableFile.Dat"); // Output file name
    PrintStream p = new PrintStream(out); //Create a stream to write to the file.
    for (int i=0; i<SearchTableFileData.length; i++) {
    p.print(SearchTableFileData); //write data stored in SearchTableFileData Array
    p.print("\n"); // write end of line character.
    // try and catch are error handling
    } catch(IOException ioe) {
    System.out.println("Error: " + ioe);
    To read the file back into the Array I have:
    try {
    DataInputStream in2 = new DataInputStream(
    new FileInputStream("SearchTableFile.Dat")); // Input File Name and Stream
    SearchTableFileData = new String[SearchTableFileLines];
    line = in2.readLine(); //reads first line
    SearchTableFileLines = 0;
    while (line != null) {
    SearchTableFileData[SearchTableFileLines] = line;
    SearchTableFileLines += 1;
    line = in2.readLine(); //reads next line
    in2.close();
    } catch (EOFException e) {
    } catch(IOException ioe) {
    System.out.println("Error: " + ioe);
    Hope this helps. The file reading routine has some variable that are declared elsewhere in the code and I didn't think it was necessary to explain all of them.

  • Bulletin Board for A505-6980

    Does anyone know how to find the Bulletin Board on a A505-6980?  The advertisement for this machine says that the Bulletin Board in available on this machine but I cannot find in on the computer.

    Satellite A505-S6980
    Mystery to me. I don't see anything about it in the specs above.
    And I don't see anything in the User's Guide.

  • Toshiba Bulletin Board - recover message?

    From the Toshiba Bulletin Board I received two messages--one being notification of a BIOS update, 2.0.  I was able to install that update properly.  Knowing there were two messages regarding updates, I went back to retrieve the other one and it now shows I have zero messages.  Any way to recover the old message (which was for another download)?  Thank you.

    Hi Jim,
    I see there is a 2.00 BIOS version for my L670-137 model (via my local support site). Do you know if this is the long anticipated permanent fix? Unfortunately, I can't find any release notes that state what was fixed.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Remco.

  • Toshiba Bulletin Board labels grayed out

    New laptop and Bulletin Board was working just fine for the first few days.  Now the labels gadget is grayed out and cannot be accessed.  I really like using the labels and want them back.  I'm afraid to do an uninstall and install because I have a  lot of information on a couple of boards I have created and I don't want to lose the data.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for responding, Jerry! I realized that I had forgotten to put the model and parts #s in my Post the minute I clicked. Here they are:
    Toshiba NB 305-N410BL
    Part# PLL3AU-00G00C
    I have another issue vis-a-vis the labels on the bottom of the laptop.  I have a Microsoft sticker with a Product key # for Windows but I do not have a separate sticker for Microsoft Office (or for  Microsoft Works - assuming that suite has its own sticker).  In the past my HP and Dell laptops have had such software stickers either underneath the laptop itself near the Microsoft Windows label or somewhere on the outside of the box the laptop was packed in...or on the disc or CD (there are no discs or CDS with this Toshiba - like most if not all new computers).
    Do you have any ideas how might get my Product Key # for my Microsoft Office Suite?  I can only use this software 25 times without registering...and I have 22 uses left.  I write a lot and don't this software to lock up on me.
    Many thanks!
    Alex

  • Login and bulletin board

    I am in the process of redesigning our intranet. How hard is
    it to have a login to a part of this site? What I am hoping to do
    is to create a bulletin board for employees, but not everyone would
    see it. There would also be documents posted within this secure
    area. Any help you can give me on creating this login option and
    bulletin board would be greatly appreciated.

    unless it's actually more complex than what you're
    describing, i would
    just use a forum. you can set it so that only registered
    users can log
    in and see everything. and you can upload files and stuff.
    there's lots of free ones out there, but i'm partial to phpBB
    forums
    (the "BB" actually stands for bulletin board), myself.
    http://www.phpbb.com/
    i would take a look at that and see if it can do what you're
    looking for.
