Bumper case and dock question.

Hello!
I understand that the Apple bumper and dock don't work together. However, my question is:  There any other alternate for it?
Thank you,
Jamie

You can buy a dock extender or dock extension cable.

  • Iphone with bumper case and connector cable

I recently purchased the iPhone 4 and gave my wife my 3G. I had a couple of cables that I use on the 3G for my car and at the desk. I attempted today to charge the iPhone 4 while on a trip only find that the cables that I have for the 3G will not fit into the iPhone 4 which has the bumper case. The opening on the case is smaller than the plastic insulator on the connector.
Fortunately I brought the one that came with it, which normally stays on my desk, along on the trip and was able to charge it without taking the case off. But now it appears I'll have to purchase another cable for my car charger.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I made the same discovery on both my iPhone4s. It would fit on my SkyDock either. So I was able to successfully Dremel both of them for a secure fit. It only takes about 15 minutes of careful work to get them modified for greater charger compatibility. Not sure it wasn't intentional to increase aggregate charger sales.

  • Griffin Reflect (2G) Case and Dock Adapters

I have a 2nd Generation iPod Touch and I just got an alarm clock/ iPod charger/speaker/ radio for Christmas. It's alot like an iHome and I'm pretty sure that it has Apple's Universal Dock Adapter. It's a Memorex Mi4019.
I have a Griffin Reflect case on my iPod (It's a great case if you're considering it btw) and the only way I can get it to connect and work with the clock is to remove the case. The case adds too much height to the iPod for it to get a full connection with the dock adapter.
Is there any dyi or cheap solution I can use to be able to use my iPod with my clock without taking it out of the case?
    Thanks

  • WT310 Screen protection and dock question

I own the WT310 with pen accessory and although i'm very satisfied with it i have two questions
1 - Is it possible to remove the Anti-glare screen protection, as i prefer to have a brighten display and it seems to be just a thin removable layer, will it lead to a malfunction display ?
2 - Is it possible to use the Z10T-A keyboard dock on the WT310 model ?
    Many thanks

Yes, I think you can remove the protection foil and this should not affect the display functionality.
    > 2 - Is it possible to use the Z10T-A keyboard dock on the WT310 model?
The WT310 as well as Portege Z10t Ultrabook support the PA5105E-1PRP tablet dock.

  • Thinkpad 8 covers & cases, and a question for Lenovo re: pricing

    Hi all,
I recently bought a Thinkpad 8 and overall I'm very happy with it as I've had no issues so far. I've bought a cheap IVSO case from eBay for protection, but wondered if anyone had any leads on better quality ones out now or coming soon? The IVSO one is OK, but is bulky and none too light and when you've bought a slim, small computer for travel making it thick and heavy again is not really what you want to be doing.
I'd ideally like a quickshot cover, but Lenovo's UK pricing of £55 compared to $35 in the US is absolutely outrageous. It's actually cheaper to buy one from Amazon in Germany for 62 euros and import it. In fact, it's nearly £15 cheaper to buy one from a business seller on eBay in the US AND pay import customs charges and delivery!
I'm used to paying a bit more in the UK but this is a straightforward and very blatant rip off. Would anyone from Lenovo care to comment on whether the price will be coming down to be more in line with at the very least the rest of Europe, let alone the US?

I am pretty sure I have the same case.  The product description on Amazon says VTSO, but the metal tab actually says IVSO.  All of the ones I see look like they are probably the same or very similar case with a different name.  I bought the QuickShot cover, and it is OK, but it does nothing to protect the corners, which I consider very vulnerable spots.  The IVSO/VTSO provides all around coverage.  I don't think we are going to find anything much better.  If I do I will come back and post.

  • IPhone 4 Bumper Case Refund!?!?

So i have already bought a bumper case, and i can get a refund yeh...but rather then the hassle of sending that one back to get a new 1, would apple just give me my money back and then i keep my case...saves alot of hassle...would they do that?

    lyricon,
It wouldn't matter if you sold it to someone else. The point would be that you got $29 back from Apple. The case is now free per Steve Jobs, so it would be like they gave it to you free from the beginning and then you sold it to someone. The person who would feel duped would be the person who YOU sold it to who didn't originally get it from Apple and doesn't have a receipt from them. However, that person, if he or she didn't buy a bumper or case through Apple, would still get his/her free bumper OR case (choices apparently are coming soon) from them, but I'm guessing he/she would only have the option of getting a new, free case, but not getting money back for the case he/she bought from you.
WHOA, now I'm confusing myself. What I'm saying is that I don't think Apple will be giving a REFUND to anyone without a receipt proving they bought a bumper. They will however give you a free bumper or selected case. These appear to be the choices:
    1. Bought a bumper already. Go to store, get $29 back, keep bumper.
    2. Bought bumper already, but don't like it. Go to store, get $29 back (if bumper in good enough condition?), and choose from other free case option.
    3. Bought no case/bumper yet. Go to store, get free bumper or free case option.
    4. I think Steve said there would be options online too. I guess you could order your free bumper/selected free case online and have it sent to you too, but I don't know if there will be a place to fill in and get a $29 rebate via mail yet.
I don't think Apple is just giving $29 back if you haven't paid for a bumper already. I think you can only get a free bumper or selected free case.

  • Bumper and Dock don't mix

Warning, the dock and bumpers for the iPhone 4 don't work together which is a real pity.
I bought both and no have to decide do I use the dock or the bumper.
The bumper is not going to last being removed and replaced every few days.

    Ian Parkinson wrote:
    1. It was not a complaint it was an observation that I though others might find useful.
    2. What is stupid is the design of the two items.
    3. Pulling the bumper on and off will not do it any good as it is very tight fit and not really designed for constant removal / replacement, even just the lower section.
*Apple are always saying they design things well, 'It just works', well in this case, they do not work together.*
    lol i like that.

Click on the Apple and then on about this Mac. In the new window, click on the "version 10.9.2" until you see the serial number displayed.

  • Component Video Cable and Bumper Case

Just a head's up. If you have an iPhone 4 and a bumper case, the Component video cable will not fit properly when the bumper case is on. It inserts, but the cutout that fits the standard USB cable is too small for the plastic part of the cable that is larger on the Component Video cable.
When I tried to plug it in, I did not notice this the first time and got the "This accessory is not compatible" message. I also got B&W video. When I took the case off and the cable seated securely, I was able to get 420p video from the video I took with the camera. NOTE - The Component cable only supports 420p when playing on an NTSC TV. I was also able to see YouTube at 420p. I did not try anything else.
Hope this helps some of you avoid frustration

Yes I do live in Europe. But who says that Component Video Cable is a standart from USA or Japan. I have been using Component Video Cables to connect my DVD Player with my video projector since 2002. Component Video Cables are wisely used in Europe. And its the ONLY analogue way of transferring HD-Video (Plus DVI and HDMI)
What disturbs me alot is that on www.toshiba-europe.com they explain that my computer has:
    Interfaces 1 x headphone
    1 x DC-in
    1 x line-in
    1 x external monitor
    1 x RJ-11
    1 x RJ-45
    1 x i.LINK (IEEE 1394)
    4 x USB 2.0
    1 x Monitor-in (line-in port)
    1 x TV-antenna
    1 x S-Video-in (Composite/Line-in)
    1 x TV-out (s-video, Component-out))
1 x 5-in-1 Bridge Media slot (supports SD Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMedia Card, xD-Picture Card)
Where is the Component-out ???Promise is a promise. Why do they say it if they dont give it?
Instruction manual also says that : D-Video port lets you transfer 525i(480i),525p(480p),1125i(1080i) or 750p(720p) data to external devices.
How can you transfer 720p with a Scart Cable?? It is impossible.... The only way that Qosmio can transfer 1280x720 picture is a Component Video cable.(Because it has no DVI port) How much does this cable cost anyway?? But the problem is NOBODY is producing it in Europe. I am writing to Toshiba-Japan. Since they are saying that my computer has Component-out so they must get me the cable....

  • Hpe540f and moving to a bigger case and other minor questions

ok, so the thing is, is that since I've gotten my hpe540f (or VERY similar computer in the same line), I've been slowly improving the computer by adding a better graphics card and a better PSU (550ti and a 600 watt psu if you must know) and the case has started to get a bit cramped and the temperatures in the case are at a semi-alarming rate and I've tried different methods to lower the temperatures (cleaning/dusting and wire arranging), but I eventually deduced that it was the airflow of the case, so this is where my questions come in...
I've never really messed with a pre-built computer before and I just need to know that if you really can move to another case and whatnot easily (sounds like a silly question, but I've never had to move entire components to another case before and previous computers I had were built my dad or the both of us)
I've also had my eye on a certain case which seems to be bigger than my current case and is a bit on the cheap side, but has gotten good reviews and is made for gaming (which I intend to do a lot of or use most in my computer) I just would like to know if this computer case would work with the components I currently have and will last me...if not then by all means if you have any other suggestions on cases I could get, that would be great too
Below I'm going to link the product pages for the case and another page that seems to list most everything about my current computer minus the upgrades I've made over the years (but I listed them above and they aren't too significant that I doubt it would matter)

    Hi,
The issues that you will run into when transfering the existing "guts" of your PC to a new case are:
Motherboard mounting --> many cases should be able to accomodate most of the mounting holes
Rear I/O plate -- you need to remove this and transfer it to the new case as one is not included
USB header connectors -- make sure that the new case can handle the USB motherboard connectors
    Front panel connections
The case for the HPE-540f appears to have slotted air intake vents at the top so the PSU should be mounted fan up so it can draw cool air from the upper side vents.  Double check this as a possiblity on how to reduce heat.  Additional cooling ideas: PCI slot cooling fan and vented PCI slot covers.
My HP e9280t appears to have the same case. I am running a much higher wattge video card, higher wattage power supply, higher wattage processor, more memory dimms and three hard drives.  The point here is that I am not experiencing heat issues.

  • TS3297 I cannot purchase music currently as I am being asked to answer security questions due to it being " the first time have bought from this PC". This is not the case, I have not changed my PC. I have changed my passowrd and security questions but no

I cannot buy music currently as I am being asked to answer security questions due to it being supposedly "the first time I have bought form this PC". This is not the case. I have now changed my password and security questions, but it is asking me the same when I try to buy again.

First off, the name of your computer is only the way it is becuase the Apple user is the first one they created after repairing the Mac. Go into Sharing System Preferences and change the name to whatever you like.
Can you explain how you did this:
This didn't seem right so I went in to it and changed the computer so that it would recognise me as the Owner/Administrator.
You can delete the Apple user in Users & Groups System Prefs. Select that user and delete it. It will ask if you want to save the user data or delete it. If you archive it, you can always delete it later and it will be available if you need to recover that account for some reason--I doubt this will be necessary. After deleting the account, and when you feel you are still working normally, you could delete that archived user folder.
I have also never seen anything ask for that. It does sound like an Epson thing, but without having access to it, I couldn't tell you for sure.
Here's what I would try. Create a new User and give them admin rights. Log in as that user and see what happens with the installer. If it still complains, it is an Epson issue. My guess is it is looking for user id 501, the first user created. If it works, then something is indeed odd about your account. If so, use that new admin account to disable Admin privileges for your account, then re-enable it. This is done in the Users & Groups system prefs.

  • Free bumper case when and how?

Steve indicated that every iPhone 4 owner would receive a free bumper case to hopefully correct the antenna issue. When and how does one receive the case? I must admit that I have only had a few dropped calls. I live in an area that has a weak signal and my 3G had not one dropped call in 2 years!!!

Apple will offer a free iPhone 4 Bumper or other select cases to iPhone 4 customers. Details on how to order a free Bumper or case will be available soon on apple.com, details most likely this week.

  • Bumper case causing damage to bezzle and easy glass scratches

Anyone else having problems with the bumper case damaging the bezzle on the phone? My case caused what looks to be layers of protective coating or paint to come off. The stainless edging has strange swirls and looks as if any rubbing at all on it ruins it. You would think a case made by the company would keep this from happening. Also anything will scratch the glass. My phone is not that old and has scratches all over it. The are deep into the glass as well. I have never dropped it or stored it in the same pocket with keys or change. To bad the 30X stronger isnt true and I cant even contact apple about it without paying to talk to someone.

I really wonder if you didn't get a defective phone. While I did just only get my iPhone 4 yesterday, i had the 3GS model for over a year and put it in pockets with change, keys, etc. And I never had ANY blemishes occur on it. The glass or the white back.
I hope this isnt an issue with the iPhone 4, seems like Apple wouldn't go backwards with their glass quality.
It's a long shot but why not take it into the Apple store, if your'e near one, and let the Apple Geniuses see what the Apple branded bumper did to the finish on your phone. I have found that my local Apple store geniuses are very helpful and almost always want to make you happy when something doesn't seem right with one of their products.
Maybe try that. They may just swap you out a new one because of the damage caused by one of their own add-on products.
