sono V.G, una studentessa di architettura che come molti ha fatto grandi sacrifici per comprarsi un computer, (che ti dicono indistruttibile, affidabile, sicuro ecc… ) , da 2500 euro e un telefono da 600 euro.
Se ho scelto Apple è proprio per le caratteristiche superiori alle altre aziende e ho scelto di investire i miei soldi così.
Ora la questione in ordine cronologico per quanto riguarda il computer è questa:
novembre 2013: ho comprato un MacBook Professional Retina  per avere un computer funzionale e duraturo che mi facesse sentire sicura nello svolgimento della tesi in architettura e dei lavori di grafica che faccio.
Dicembre 2013: apro il computer ma rimane bloccato con la rottella colorata bloccata, desktop compreso.
Dicembre 2013: torno al Centro Apple (a Torino in Via Roma), lo portano in assistenza e mi ridanno dopo qualche giorno il computer con la parte sostituita, il disco rigido (come mai non un computer nuovo?)
Cosa ha portato quest’interruzione dopo solo un mese dal mio acquisto? Mi hanno detto un problema di fabbricazione, ma a me non interessa, io ho speso 2500 euro e ora HO PERSO TUTTI I DATI DELLA MIA TESI RACCOLTI I UN ANNO.
Premetto che i dipendenti (Genius) sono stati molto gentili e non ne possono nulla, ma i miei dati sono andati persi,
Da notare che il disco rigido, è stato uno dei motivi per cui ho speso tutti questi soldi per comprarmi un computer del genere è FALSO il mio computer è stato per un mese sempre su uno stesso tavolo, una superficie piana lontana da qualsiasi rischio possibile, senza prendere nessun urto eppure si è BLOCCATO PERDENDO TUTTI I DATI.
In aggiunta a questo ho avuto anche problemi con il telefono:
ho comprato un cellulare Apple 4 anni fa (3GS)
il cellulare Apple, che avevo tenuto spento per un mese, al momento dell’accensione inizia a gonfiarsi nella parte posteriore e si surriscalda
il 31 MARZO lo porto in assistenza me ne danno un altro per 75 euro (dovrei essere contenta?)
il 21 MAGGIO 2014 il nuovo telefono si surriscalda di nuovo e non si accende
lo porto in assistenza e di nuovo e me ne danno un altro (ad UN MESE dal precedente) e di nuovo perdo dei dati importanti
(tutti i cellulari che ho avuto finora di altre aziende non hanno avuto mai problemi del genere anche dopo anni)
Ora il punto è questo: per aver speso tutti questi soldi, frutto di grandissimi sacrifici per me, ripeto, desidererei capire se c’è un risarcimento per tutto il tempo che ho perso, i dati essenziali che ho perso, indipendente dai miei atti, o se c’è un modo per sopperire agli svariati disagi che ho avuto.
Confido in una presa in considerazione della richiesta

Ho comunque tutte le ricevute dei vari cambi nel caso in cui c’è ne fosse bisogno.

    Call Apple anyway. If the device was ever registered with then they will have the serial # on file and can look you up by other info such as your name or phone number.
    To re-enable an iPad any computer with iTunes should work. However, if your data was not backed up to iCloud you will not be able to access it until you get back to your home computer.

    Ridiculous.  Apple says "we aren't the police".  In other words when someone calls to set up an account with Apple and gives them the serial number of their new phone (stolen from me) Apple allows them to activate it.  I'm not asking Apple to turn in this thief.  I'm asking them not to allow anyone to use MY phone. 
    When I call Apple they ask for my user name and password, etc.  But a thief calls in with a phone that Apple knows is stolen and allows him to open an account.

    What's going on is that Apple manufactures phones.  That's it.  Just like Samsung, LG, Nokia and Motorola. None of those companies is in the policing business.  Apple doesn't "activate" the phone, the carrier does. You don't call Apple and open an account.  You call a carrier.  Carriers are the ones to block a phone from being activated on their service.  Most don't get into the policing business either.
    Call you carrier and the police and report the theft.  That's all you can do.

    Apple does not want you to have two iTunes accounts so perhaps it would be better to cancel the account you used with your Dell and launch a new account for your nice new iMac.   If you cannotmake contact with the original details go to ...

  • HT5654 update 11.1.4 has caused my computer to crash.  i know longer have acess to my itunes and i get a repeated message telling me"apple mobile device failed to start.  verify that you have sufficiant privilages to start system services.

    I attempted to install the latest update.  I have recieved multiple failures.  I tried to repair itunes, uninstall and reinstall.  i now have no access to my itunes and continually get "apple mobile device failed to start.verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

    Go into Programs and Features
    Uninstall:
    iTunes
    Bonjour*
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Application Support
    Quicktime*
    iCloud*
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    * I didn't have to uninstall Bonjour, iCloud or Quicktime to fix my issue but it won't hurt anything to uninstall them.
    Reboot. Download a fresh copy of iTunes. Right click on the exe file and select Run as Administrator if you have the option if not just Run it. Should fix the issue.

    delete/uninstall the apps that your relative downloaded on you iPad. to do that tap and hold on and icon til it shakes, once its shaking downloaded apps will havee (X) mark on them on a red bubble, tap on it to delete

    I have tried to use someone else's computer to sync my i-touch. I was under the impression that I could recognize other dvices to sync my library, but it keeps telling me that i have to erase what is on my i-touch and replace it with the library associated with the computer i am using, yet he does not have an i-tunes account, nor an apple device to necessitate one and only has i-tunes on his computer because I downloaded it to try &amp; sync my i-touch.

    That is the way it works. It designed to do that.
    In addition to everything else you have to this other person's computer you would have to move your complete iTunes library over also. Only then will it recognize youriTouch.

  • HT1766 Has anyone else had a problem with their phone after using the cable to upload photos from Camera stream to computer photo program?  My phone is frozen, cannot get into use phone, cannot connect to the Internet, and even APPLE is stumped.

    I only have my IPhone5 for two months and am very upset that now they may need to give me a new phone and lose anything that may not have been recently backed up by the phone.  Has anyone else had this problem?  How did you reseolve it?  Hard reboots did not help.

    Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
    You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
    Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.
    There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

    8, File > Devices > Restore from Backup (or Restore Backup button on the Summary tab)

    Buongiorno sono italiano ed e' la terza notte che passo su pc e ipad per sincronizare video e fare dei video clip con iMOVIE. non riesco in nessun modo a trasferire i video sia vergini di telecamera che montati su iTUNES su pc e quindi sincronizzare iPAD MINI 4G-ho provato anche a sincronizzare in foto, invece che video, ieri ci ero riuscito....ma oggi no....eppure ho fatto lo stesso percorso. Se comprassi QUICK TIME 7 riesco a risolvere? Ho provato scaricando su pc qualche programmino share, ma, nonostante sia riuscito a convertirlo in mov niente....non me lo ha sincronizzato per divertrmi a fare qualche clip....peccato, mi avevano detto che con iPAD montare video non ci sarebbe problema...invece...!!!!!

    How are you going to use the final product?
    If you don't need 1080, then importing a smaller size makes sense. Or you can import at 1080, then export at 720 or my favoritie, 960x540 which looks good to me on YouTube.
    I have found that importing from my Canon HFS100 at the 960x540 size choice that iMovie gives me has much smaller files.
    You can make the final movie pretty much any size you want by exporting using quicktime then selecting options. It takes a while to figure out what you want and what looks good.
    I have found the best size to use in iWeb, for example, is to make a movie, then open it in quicktime player, export to the web. The resulting folder has two different sizes, and the smallest is just amazing.
    To maintain the highest quality, one could import at the highest quality, export as one needs, and put the event file on an external hard drive.

    I hope not to turn this into a rant about the new MacBooks. Rather I just wanted the musicians side of things...
    I know that there is lots of talk in the MacBook forums about the new MacBook's lack of FireWire but as a fellow musician I was hoping to get other musician's (Logic Pro 8 users) perspective on the situation.
    I've been using my iMac for about 5 years and I was planning to purchase my 1st MacBook in January and retire the iMac to other non-music chores.
    Why? .....my wife bought herself an iMac about a year ago (Nov 2007) and I've fallen in love with her computer. I have not loaded Logic 8 on her machine but I have used GarageBand on it and it works great so I would assume I would get good performance on it with Logic 8.
    But, now that the new MacBooks don't have FireWire and my connections (audio, hard disks, video cameras etc.) to my iMac via FireWire, I've decided not to buy a new MacBook.

    1. I still like doing music on my iMac. Maybe I'll just keep it as my music computer
    2. Ask my wife to trade? (not going to happen)
    3. Buy a MacBook Pro? Thats a lot of extra money that if I had I would rather spend on something that would make my music really "sound" better (better mic, better Guitar, better mic preamp etc). After all, those things will last forever, a computer has a limited lifespan.
    4. Switch to a USB interface and get the new MacBook? I have a FireBox interface now that I really like although I have been using a external mic preamp that made my audio sound quite a bit better.
    What would you all do? Or better, what WILL you do when it comes time for you to need a new notebook computer with FireWire.

    With all due respect to Marceldada, I would not recommend buying one of those white macbooks. Although they price is right, you want to get the best and fastest machine you possibly can, or you are going to have performance issues with Logic and grow out of the machine sooner. The newest model 'unibody' 2.1ghz Macbook actually gets faster benchmarks than the 2.4ghz previous generation Macbook (yes, I typed that in right, the 2.1 is FASTER than the previous gen 2.4), so that white previous generation 2.1 Macbook they're still selling on the MB page is going to be significantly slower than any other Mac laptop you can get now.
    I'm not totally convinced that USB is terrible for Audio interfaces - there seem to be some nice ones out there if you just want something with a couple of ins and outs. Get a 7200 speed internal HD, and you can record several tracks of audio onto that with no problems.
    If you're wanting to do really heavy Logic work and lots of multi track recording, you should spring for the MBP anyway. The Macbook Pro's are amazing machines, and that 2 inches more on the screen in my opinion is worth its weight in gold. Also keep in mind that you will recoup some of the added expense that you put into a newer and better spec'd machine when you resell it. Even if you bought one of the black or white Macbooks brand new now, the silver one will still hold its value better because it is newer technology. And that certainly holds true for the MBP's too. The more you spend now, the more it will be worth when you sell.
    If you do want firewire and definitely don't want a MBP, I would look at the refurbished and clearance machines on Apple's website, or check out some Apple retail stores who may still have some of the older black and white Macbooks they're trying to get rid of.

    I think getting a refurbished or clearance model 2.4 black or white Macbook (or a refurbed previous generation Macbook Pro, which you can get for cheaper than the current silver Macbook) is a much better deal than the low end whitebook they're still selling new. If there is a university near you, check out their bookstore. I was just in a university bookstore two days ago, and the were selling the 2.4ghz blackbook for $999, and the 2.4 whitebook for $949. That's cheap, and a pretty fast machine!
