Buring audiobook file  to a MP3 CD

I down loaded a 11 hour school book which I wanted to listen in my car. The file is a protected ACC (mb4) . How can I burn a MP3 CD ,without creating a AIFF which would take up alot of space/CD ? . I don't have an ipod at this time.
Is there a way to convert it..
Brad

I don't think there's any way you can burn 11 hours of audiobook onto one CD. It's going to take a few of them, I would expect. If you're burning it through iTunes, I think it will tell you how many discs it will take. (Start the burn process, prior to inserting a disc. After it prompts you to insert a disc, it should then tell you that it will take x number of discs.)

  • Error message when Making Bookmarkable an audiobook file. Solution?

When I import an mp3 audiobook file into iTunes 10, and then convert it to an AAC file, and then try to 'Make it Bookmarkable', I get an error message:
"The variable loc is not defined".
This is a new problem that I have never encountered before in doing this task.
    Anyone know the  Solution?

I am having the same problem. Never had the problem before, so I am assuming it is something in the new iTunes.

  • Combine files into one MP3 file

I hope I can explain this correctly, but I want to know if there is a way to combine chapters of a disc into one larger MP3 file. I am importing all of my audiobooks into iTunes so that I can listen to them on my iPhone. However, there are so many discs with chapters that I would like to condense them into fewer but larger files. I hope this would condense the overall memory usage and make it easier to navigate.
Is there a program on the Mac or for the Mac that can do something like this? I am on an iMac with Snow Leopard.
    THANKS!!!!

    See this -> Join Together
"Join Together automates the process of joining the files of selected iTunes tracks together with QuickTime and exporting them as a single AAC Music or Audiobook file/track. Optionally, you can then create a "chapterized" audio file of the exported AAC file with pointers to the individually joined tracks."

You need to change your signature.

My suggestion to use the smart playlist was more along the lines of making one list with rules to show everything in your library as long as it was kind "mpeg" (= mp3).
Smart playlists cannot be edited manually, only by changing the rules.  You can use them as the basis for another smart playlist though.
There is added overhead to using smart playlists, so don't go overboard.

  • How can I convert an M4A file to an MP3 version?

How can I convert an M4A file to an MP3 version?

Thanks for your reply but that's not my problem.
I know that I can burn an M4A file to a CD and then import it back as an MP3, but that's an annoying process and wastes blank CDs.  I thought iTunes had a menu choice to convert a selected file to MP3 format.  I guess that's not true with M4A versions.
I will simply buy my music from Amazon from now on and I won't have to deal with this file format and protection nonsense.  I can download music from Amazon in MP3 format as the rest of my music is in.

  • Can i convert AIFF audio file into an MP3 file please?

Can i convert AIFF audio file into an MP3 file please? I will be doing this on an imac 2008 model. thank you for help!

Since this is the Logic forum and you may be working in Logic, you dont even need iTunes. To convert Aiff to MP3:
    1 - Go to the Bin>Audio Files
2 - Select the Audio File you want to convert ( and not a region or edit of it)
3 - Go to Audio File next to the Link icon ( Audio - Edit - View ) and down the menu to Copy/Convert.. gives lots of options

    (hope that also helps)

  • I am still having problems with audiobook files that go silent after playing for a few minutes on my iPohne 4S and iPod touch.  This is happening to others but I notice no support being offered.  I downloaded them from iTunes.  Any ideas?

This problem only surfaced a couple of months ago.  Audiobook files which used to play fine suddenly startted to cut out after a few minutes (playing according to the countdown but silent).
I tried restoring, resetting, etc but nothing worked.  THen  I deleted some and redownloaded.  BIG MISTAKE.  iTunes tried to bill me for these again!!  I have been in dispute for week about this and they have finally promised to refund this as it is a 'special' case, but there are still book that are cutting out!!!
This is frustrating and there seems to be no way of sorting it out.  The files play perfrctly through iTUnes from my PC but each time a update, the same problem occurs.
    Help!!!

Wow, just posting and it seems that there is a solution that is working for me...
What I've did is I turned off iTunes Match on my iPhone, then turned in on again. Now in my iTunes library on my mac I can get the duplicates to be matched or uploaded to iCloud with a right-click, add to iCloud. iTunes Match starts to check the songs and everything is done correctly. Pretty nice!

  • ITunes cannot open files in the "MP3 Audio File" format

Lately I've been getting this error that iTunes can't open MP3 files. It happens when I try to double click on an MP3, however, if I click and drag the MP3 into my iTunes library it opens fine. Not a huge problem....just a nuisance.
    Running iTunes 10.0.1

I suddenly have this same problem with MacOS 10.6.7 and iTunes 10.2.2. Clicking on a tune in a folder gets the prompt "The document xxxx.mp3 could not be opened. iTunes cannot open files in the MP3 audio format."
Dragging the tune into iTunes will open it, so there's no problem with it being a "trouble file" that needs validating with some external app. I believe this is a new glitch that came with iTunes 10.2.2. It's workable but quite irritating when trying to manage an iTunes library that includes 28,000-plus songs.

Yeah, I remember someone posted that solution a long time
ago. It seems if you load a file with the same name the cache
    doesn't
know any better and adjusts the download size to the smaller
one. Maybe it's a good way to do it! Could it be a way to remove an
mp3 from someone's cache after it plays? hmmmm Will have to
    do more testing.

  • Podcast file to "normal" mp3 file

    Please ...
Is it possible to change the podcast file into an MP3 "normal" file and see it in the Library window ?
    Thanks
    Gil

    Further development....
If the file has the ID3v2 removed, via mp3rage etc, then it also returns to a normal file. I have done a few tests on iTunes downloaded podcasts, and this does work. However you also lose lots of extra info, such as long titles and descriptions in the lyrics or comments sections, plus artwork.
This is a bit of a pain, but you can copy and paste between old and new file with mp3rage. Slow, but better than clipped info.
So copy the files to a new folder.
drag folder to edit multiple files tags
set ID3v2 to none, ID3v1 to 1.1 and check both boxes & change genre - click update.
now set ID3v2 tag to v2.2.0 and click update.
copy and paste any info you want between old and new files via iTunes and/or mp3rage.
    delete old files.
I'm certain this works, and is easy if you don't have long names or need the extra tag info.

  • How to Convert iTunes Songs (Apple lossless audio file) to a MP3 for E-mail

How to Convert iTunes Songs (Apple lossless audio file) to a MP3 for E-mail?
My computer is Windows 7 and my Itunes software version is 1.0.2
    Many thanks in advance...

iTunes 1.0.2 is +at least+ eight years old.
The current version is 9.2, and it's free.
If that was a typo, and you're using something more current:
In the iTunes preferences, change the import settings to mp3.
Then select the songs you wish to convert.
From the "Advanced" menu, choose "Create mp3 version".
When done, change the import settings back to Apple Lossless.
    That's it.
BTW, this is the Logic Pro forum, which has absolutely nothing to do with iTunes.
