thanks!

Have you created a playlist to burn a CD from? The burn CD button is only present and visible in a playlist you wouldn't have one in the main library view because you can't burn a CD from the library: iTunes for Windows - Creating your own audio CDs

  • Missing "burn disc" button and preferences

Since upgrading to iTunes 8 there is now no "burn disc "button at the bottom right hand corner [only the genius symbol and an arrow]. As well there is no longer the option to choose what kind of CD to burn i.e MP3,CD or Data , in preferences.

I read some other posts and one guy said you have to create a playlist in the side bar, then open the play list. Once you do that the burn disc button will appear. If you are showing you entire library, the button will not show.
I just tried it and it works.

  • Burn Disc Button Disappears

Hi! I just bought a new computer and I am unable to burn playlists from my ipod that I owned before the computer. The burn disc button disappears when I make a playlist from my ipod under the subtitle devices. The burn disc button is there, however when I am under the playlists subtitle. The computer is authorized. Any ideas?

You can not burn a playlist on your ipod, it has to be on the PC and listed in iTUnes.
If you have an "On The Go" playlist, it should transfer to iTUnes if you have the "Auto Update" feature on

  • "burn disc" button is missing in iTunes preferences

I upgraded to 6.0.1 a few months back and haven't had time to actually burn anything (busy with life). Today, I wanted to burn a CD and went to iTunes preferences, and the "burn disk" button with all the options for MP3 and CD is missing.
I went to HELP looking to see if they moved it, but the instructions indicate it's supposed to be there under preferences.
    What gives?
    Thanks

Hi Joe - Can you find what you're looking for via iTunes / Preferences / Advanced / Burning?

  • Where's my "Burn Disc" button?

I've downloaded itunes on my new computer, transferred my library from my old computer, and everything seems good to go. However, there is no button in the lower left-hand corner (or anywhere else for that matter) that allows me to burn a CD. Help please.

Nevermind - got it. The newest version only allows you to burn from a playlist in your library, not from the pod. Bummer.

  • Time machine backup problem with upgrade to Lion - Choose Backup Disk button non-existant

Hi, I just upgraded my mac mini to Lion and have encountered a problem with by Time Machine. It no longer sees my networked drive for back up. So, I followed the instructions on this site http://code.stephenmorley.org/articles/time-machine-on-a-network-drive/ and get to item 6b. and have a problem I have not been able to sort out. Instead of the button "Choose Backup Disk" on the Time Machine window, I have a button "Select Disk" with a button "Options" under it. When I click "Select Disk" I get a window promtping me to "Set Up Other Time Capsule" and clicking that takes me to a window for AirPort Utility. (screen shot )
Anyone know why I don't have the right button for starters and why I can't access any drives on my machine at all? I followed the web instructions on the site I mention above because initially I had an error about AFP, so suspected the drive set up here (it is my work) is incompatible.
(The only IT guy we have is on vacation for 2 weeks and then I am on vacation for 2 weeks and can't wait a month in order to back up! Thought I would try here to see if I can get answers before I am away.)
    Thanks in advance!

i had a similar problem when I first installed Lion last year.  It seems that some network NAS products need a firmware update to work with Lion.  I contacted the manufacturer and they helped me out.  I am using a Synology NAS system.  Problem solved after firmware update.

  • Utunes 8  missing burn cd button

I cna't burn anything the icon isn't their since I updated itunes. When I clikc on the playlist the burn cd isn't even an option. Anyone can help me please?

Unless iTunes 8 for Windows is different from the Mac version, if the OP has updated to iTunes 8 (as it appears from the message title) then the burn preferences are no longer in the Advanced tab. They don't appear until you press Burn Disc when you get a burning option box where you set the options for each burn, unfortunately the OP isn't getting a Burn Disc button.

  • Burning discs from playlist

since i updated i tunes yesterday i can't seem to burn discs. normally would create playlist and burn from there. however burn disc button no longer there only the genius icon is! tried searching round toolbar to see if burn option has moved but cannot locate.

it seems that it has something to do with the registry..do you get a warning error message when opening itunes?> "Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes." if that is the problem follow these instructions here> http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3299 >from 1 thru 14.< just leave itunes installed and follow thru, make sure when you go to question 11 and 12 drop them down and follow until you reach 14 to restart. well if thats the case..

  • "Browse"button couldn't change to "Burn Disc"

itunes 7,Disc Driver DVD+-RW connected via usb and and recognized by itunes, windows XP Pro, mp3 songs authorized, creat playlist in itunes.
after inserting a blank disc, itunes shows me to choose the songs in playlist and to burn. But "Browse"button couldn't change to "Burn Disc", failed.

I have a similar issue. For me at least, it seems that I cannot move songs from my ipod into new playlists (and therefore the browse button does not change to burn). This is a recent development, in the last couple of days. I.e., I was previously able to create a new playlist and move songs into it for burning to CD. So, this does not pose any answer to your question, I just have a similar issue: the burn. Does anyone know of a solution?

ok my iphone 3g touch screen is not responding, i can recieve calls and it can charge and connect to itunes, but i cannot go any further than using the home button or the power button, it is only the slide feature and touch feature that has become non existent.  Also, i have a f'ew cracks in my screen for a while now and it was running smoothly up until saturday when i sat on it applying large amounts of pressure to the phone screen.  Is there a way i can fix this myself without having to recover my phone to factory settings or wasting 50 bucks to get it fixed??

    Hi Dire Dawa,
If the screen on your iPhone isn't responding, you may find the following article helpful:

  • Try the following: Where is my profine stored? It brings you to non existing buttons etc. This is so for most iof the support.

It 's a general problem: the structure of the "help sysytem" has been changed (perhaps in part I dion't kow) so the the flow of questions ends up to non existing (no more existing..) tips, suggestions, or whole instructions of how to, no more existing or operating.
    Very frustrating.
I've foun my profile, in Linux, on the terminal with something like "find -name *.mab " and got it in a split second. None of the suggested ways in the help suite worked!
This is a general question for the site designers, thanks for helping [Indeed: it's the Help menu...]. Greets,

    Errr... no, they really don't.
You don't need a disk (which will be out of date by the time you get it anyway) - just download the current version and insert the serial number when prompted.

  • ITunes "remembers" non-existing info?!

I entered all the necessary infos for each track manualy. I burned CD. After I finished the job I erased everything regarding this music compilation from my laptop.
I inserted other CD (I've burned some time ago) to listen to the music - instead of this inserted CD tracks infos, I got infos not existing any more (from the CD I just burned)!?
Is it possible iTunes "remembers" non-existing infos and "attaches" it as they are connected to another CD? It reminds me of battery "memory"! Any clue or any similar experience? Thank you.

By default, when you insert a CD, iTunes will fetch title and track info from the Gracenote CD database (CDDB). This works only through analysis of the number and length of tracks on the disc.
The info you entered manually was never saved on the CD you burned, but in iTunes. This is why, when you insert a similar CD (same number and duration of tracks), iTunes thinks it's the same disc and the info will show up again.

  • I keep getting calls from non existing area codes and phone numbers.  They are never the same number twice.  How do I stop this?

About a week ago I started getting phone calls on my cell phone from numbers that do not exist, including the area codes.  I can not report these to the Do Not Call list because the area code is non existent.  I'm getting these calls all the time now and never from the same number twice so there's no point in blocking them.  If I answer I may or may not get a person who has an accent from India so heavy that I can't understand what they are saying.  This is getting to the point where I just want to cry I'm so frustrated.  Anyone else having this issue or does anyone know how to stop it?
    Thank you

I'm sorry that you are having all these troubles. I have sent you a private message.

  • CD Burner Troubleshooting: No Burner Disc or software found

I've had my iMac for just a couple months, slowly learning the ropes. I successfully burned a few CDs, but then one day it suddenly started giving me an error message when I click on "burn disc." It said: No Disc Burner or software found.
I tried to go to software updater under the apple/software update, but it told me there was no software that needed updating.
    Any guidance?

    Can you burn at all?
Does your burner show up in System Profiler?
To run System Profiler, select 'About This Mac' in the  menu.
Then click on the 'More Info...' button.
Expand the 'Hardware' section by clicking on the triangle.
Your disc burner can probably be found in 'ATA', otherwise try 'Serial-ATA'
Also check 'Disc Burning'. This should give more details about your burner.
On your system it should say at 'Burn support:' Apple supported or something like that.
Here's an example of my burner:
