Burn karaoke disc on macbook pro

how do you burn a karaoke disc on a macbook pro?

Go to System Profiler>System Hardware>Disk Burning.
Look in DVD -Write
If you see this - DVD-Write: -R, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW
Your drive supports double layer burning.
Been using Verbatim DVD+R DL inkjet printable disks for a while with no issues. I think I got them through tapeonline.com. They also stock Taiyo Yuden DVDs for a reasonable price.

  • I am trying to copy a burned cd to my macbook pro, but i can not

I am trying to copy a burned cd to my macbook pro so that i can burn my on cd. Does anyone have any advice.

You can use Disk Utility as a way to create an image of the disc to then save to your mac so you can insert another disc into the drive and burn that image to the disc.  There are many ways to do this but this site has a pretty good description on how to do this.  This is a pretty straight forward way that I use constantly to copy discs.

  • I'm unable to burn DVDs on my MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz, 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

    Hello all,
I'm unable to burn DVDs on my MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz, 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM running 10.4.8. When I go to burn a DVD I get one of two codes 0X8002006D, 0X80020022, why is that a 3,000 CPU cant burn a DVD. My Mac is total up to date with all software and firmware. I saw in the Discussions that I'm not the first person to have this issue but I don't see an answer from Apple, I'm pretty sure it not the DVDs (Memorex DVD-R 16X) because my ****** pc can burn them and it was a 100 pack that I used about 50 from it that I burn on both Macs and the ****** PC. I also have a Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5 with 2.5 GB DDR SDRAM running 10.4.8 which is also unable to burn them and it also comes up with the same errors. I have not had this issue until I updated my Macs to 10.4.8, PLEASE HELP.
    Thanks,
    Coons

Yes I can play CDs and DVDs but I was not able to burn a 4.01GB folder, I have since decreased the folder size to 3.75 and was able to burn the DVD. I'm creating another just to double check, my G5 was unable to complete the task and I also gave a shot at a 2.77GB folder and it failed I also gave a 200Mb file a chance but it still did not burn. I was able to burn the same 200MB file on a CD, PLEASE I NEED HELP.

    >1.How can i copy two disc of Macbook Pro, what i have when i bought  the Macbook Pro, to HDD or another HDD.
I think you meant how do you copy one hard drive to another.  You can do so with a variety of backup software*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
    >2.If i lost those disc, how can i reinstall, format my macbook pro?
Boot off any clone hard drive you make with the backup software that I mentioned above, and you can use Disk Utility to format your hard drive.  Note you'll want at least a second external clone or Time Machine drive before you do this.  Because if there is a failure of one backup during your erase, you'll be left with only one copy of your data.
    >3.I have heard about Mac OS Lion will come in this July, and we can get it on Appstore. When i buy and download it, can i write or copy it do DVD and HDD to save them?
Unknown.  I see no technical reason why you can do this, but it may not be a bootable copy you make. Apple has said they will give you a restore partition in Lion on the specs here:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/
Until it is released no one knows if there is any other capability, or if a DVD version of Lion might be available.  This has already been asked at length on the board, with no answers until the release date.
    >4.When i bought this Macbook Pro, Mac OS Snow Leopard is installed in my MacBook Pro, and it had ilife(iMovie, iWeb ....) If i buy Mac OS Lion, can i have ilife when i install it?
I can't imagine why not.  The only reason might be some feature of Lion that iLife can't take advantage of necessitating an updated release of iLife.  At this point Apple hasn't announced any.

  • Burn Karaoke disc

Hi anyone know how you can burn Karaoke disc using iTunes (or some other app) that includes the instrumentals as well as the lyrics so it can play on a karaoke machine, or DVD player?
The instrumentals are .mp3 file format, and the lyrics are .cdg file format, here is a example of one of the songs I'm trying to burn to a Karaoke disc on my Mac:
    Aerosmith - Don't Want To Miss A Thing, I.mp3
    Aerosmith - Don't Want To Miss A Thing, I.cdg
Keeping in mind that I have both the instrumentals as well as the lyrics with matching file name with the exception of the file type, does anyone know how to burn these (using a Mac) to a disc that will work in both a karaoke machine as well as a DVD player?

been searching myself to create my own cdg for use in universal karaoke players. Kjams appears to offer the most hope for all I want to do. although there's something new now called Aria which promises to do a bunch of stuff for 79 $. Otherwise, all that I want to do as listed by the original poster, would cost me Kjams lite, plus the burn plug in is extra, plus I'd need the kjams producer as I would be building a cdg by adding the synced lyrics to something I've removed the vocal from, on Audacity program. if I go with Kjams, those 3 softwares, it will cost me 150, while I'm so jealous all those PC karaoke singers have free software for karaoke they can download.
I've been buying my cdg discs at 1.99 a pop, but they don't have special songs I want to perform. Aria for Mac might just do it all but I don't need the "scratch" sound they are pushing. that makes me steer away from the software.
experimenting with the Imac 10.6 idvd movie quicktime might work. I made a few cdg but have not tried them in the club karaoke machine yet. I added the lyrics to tuneprompter which is a free software that lets you add and sync the lyrics to the music with the spacebar. thats fun. but it's all in experimental thing so far. I know Kjams does not let you add lyrics and sync them yourself. you are supposed to import cdg to kjams that are already available and pay for them. in this case I want to find my own special tunes. good luck to you. there's one other thing but it's expensive. buying software which turns your mac into a windows platform by partiioning it and you start up in one or the other. that's also about 100-150 software.

  • How do I burn a cd on macbook pro to play on cd player?

How do I burn a cd on macbook pro to play on cd player? Spotlight has never heard of such a thing.

I already have them in itunes and have dragged them onto a burn folder and burned the cd. But if I put the cd in a cd player I only hear a loud buzz. I have done this before but have forgotten where to find the directions -- there used to be a link you could click to burn for a cd player.

  • Purchased Lightroom software on disc, new MacBook Pro does not have a disc drawer.

Purchased Lightroom software on disc, new MacBook Pro does not have a disc drawer. Have already opened box. Searched online and someone suggested downloading the LR trial, and set up Cloud, then can enter the serial number to complete the purchase. Which is what I did, but the serial number is being rejected.

Ok, maybe what they’re calling Creative Cloud is merely your Adobe ID, an e-mail and password to login with.  The LR5 6 update link is probably what you want to download—all updates are downloads, anyway, so there’s no need to have a disc reader as long as you have internet and the serial number.
Here is the LR 5.6 update for a Mac:  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5822
Another issue might be that what you think is a serial number is a redemption code that needs to be converted to a serial number using this website:  http://www.adobe.com/go/getserial   A clue that you have a redemption code is that it has letters and numbers.  A serial number is just numbers and the first few are 1160-something.

  • Read/burn Blue Ray discs in MacBook Pro

Does anyone kows if it is possible to read/burn Blue Ray discs in a MacBook Pro (it have a MATSHITA DVD-R   UJ-898)? Thank you

No, the superdrive in the macbook pro cannot burn bluray.
There are some external 3rd party bluray players that will work, however consumer level bluray burners are, currently, incredibly unreliable

  • Burn DVD-9 on Macbook Pro?

I have the last model of Macbook Pro (2.6 GHz Intel Core Duo) before the current unibody design, with the MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-875 drive. The DVDSP manual seems to say that I can burn DVD-9 discs with my system. Can anyone confirm this?
And if yes, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced supplier for this type of disc?

Go to System Profiler>System Hardware>Disk Burning.
    Look in DVD -Write
    If you see this - DVD-Write: -R, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW
Your drive supports double layer burning.

  • Burning bluray disks on Macbook Pro 17"

I have a 1080p camcorder and I wanted to burn my movies on a bluray disc so I was just wondering is there any way to play and burn bluray discs on a mac book pro 17". I tried to find some external drives and I found this two external drives:
    http://fastmac.com/blurayext
    http://store.fastmac.com/productinfo.php?cPath=10_2_52&productsid=415
so I does any one know, will they work with my mid 2010 Mac book pro 17", I have both windows and Mac OS X installed on it...

Toast can be used to burn blueray disks. http://eshop.macsales.com/articles/howto-burn-bluray-toast
This external blueray burner works on mac with toast. http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/MRF8BDSD12X/
fastmac should be able to tell you if their burner works with toast.
If your goal is just to play your home movies on your HD TV; I would suggest getting an apple tv instead.

  • Can I use my iMac Install Disc on Macbook Pro?

Hi, all.  I was given a friend's old Macbook Pro and I'd like to put Boot Camp on it, but the Boot Camp instructions say I need an OSX Leopard install disc to do it.  Naturally, I just recently purged my own software binder and threw away all of my OSX discs except the one that came with iMac I recently purchased.  "Why would I need them any more?" said I.  Doh.
I have no idea what cat Apple is up to now, but the Macbook is running 10.5.8 and the install disc from my iMac is 10.6.7.  My questions:
    1) Can I use my iMac install disc on my Macbook Pro, which is about 3-4 years old?
    2) Does OS 10.6.7 qualify as Leopard?  If not, will it work for what I'm trying to do?
    3) Do I need to update the Macbook OS to 10.6.7 to be able to use that disc for the Boot Camp install?
Any information or advice would be appreciated.  Thanks!

The only thing I'd add to this is that at one point in time you could go to an Apple store and purchase Lion on a USB stick.
If your MBP was compatible and you could find one of those you could boot to it, install from it then setup bootcamp.
Also if you are thinking bootcamp, also consider VMWare Fusion or Parallels which allow you to run Windows while still in OS X.

  • How to install operating system on new hard drive without installation disc on macbook pro 2011

My macbook pro 2011 does not come with a recovery disc or any disc at all, my hard drive recently failed and i have no backup. i have replaced the hard drive but don't know how to install the operating system on the new hard drive.

If it originally shipped with 10.7 or newer, connect the computer to the Internet and start it up with the Option, Command, and R keys held down. You'll be able to install an OS.
If it shipped with 10.6.8 or earlier and wasn't upgraded to use Apple's Internet Recovery system, phone AppleCare and order the disks.
