Burn multiple imovie projects to one dvd with menu

How do i burn multiple Imovie projects to one dvd with roxio toast 10? Can i add all of the projects or do i need to export them as a quicktime movie first or something?

You can share the first movie from iMovie, but all the others will need to be exported from iMovie as movies and dragged into the iMovie project.

  • Putting multiple iMovie projects onto one DVD

I was wondering if there was a way to put multiple iMovie projects onto one DVD using iDVD?

actually none of those options worked probably since the movies were in IMOVIE2
Ah... You didn't say it was an iMovie 2 project. iMovie project is different from iMovie HD.
I want to store the image file from the dvd's off site as I don't have the space to archive the projects - it seems I can't do that as it copies over to the server but shows up as a 4kb file - any suggestions how I can do this?
I might be wrong (since I don't have iMovie 2), I assume iMovie 2 has the similar QT "reference" movie as the iMovie HD. This "reference" movie is not a "self-contained" (a QT term) movie, i.e. it only has instructions of the makeup of the "real" movies. You cannot use it to archive. If you want to offload your movie from your computer, you should copy the entire iMovie 2 project folder to an external archive.

  • Burning multiple iDVD projects to one DVD

I have iDVD 6 and I've made 3 family iDVD projects over the last few years. Is there a way I can burn all 3 projects onto one DVD? Maybe a new theme with each project as it's own chapter w/subchapters?
I've tried a few things, but not successfully. If it's not doable w/iDVD6, how about newer versions?
    thx - j

One way is to drag the underlying iMovie projects into the corner of the main menu window of a new iDVD project. They will import as three separate movies and become part of that project. Depends, of course, on how much running time your movies have. Running time for a standard DVD is 2 hours total. Double layer disks are 4 hours.
Another way would be to merge the three iMovie projects into one long project, and import that into iDVD as one long movie.

  • Everytime I try to burn an iMovie project to a DVD with iDVD, the disc is ejected during the Burning and Multiplexing phase before it's completed.

For months I have been unable to burn any iMovie project to a DVD using iDVD.  During the Burning and Multiplexing phase the disc is ejected before it's complete.  I went the Genius Bar and after many tests I was told that my disc drive was pretty much dead.  The person that helped recommended that I buy an external DVD burner from amazon.  I bought the new drive and I can now burn files, but I'm still encountering the same issue burning a movie.  Does anyone have any idea what'g going on?  I'm extremely frustrated at this point!

Read this treatise on Multiplexing by  Bengt Wärleby: HT1645 I was burning a DVD and the...: Apple Support Communities.
Follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality final product:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • Can I burn multiple FCPX projects to one DVD?

I see how to export each timeline to DVD, but is there a way to burn several projects on the same timeline through Final Cut Pro X?
    Thanks!

You can use compound clips to assemble your projects in a single project. Note, however, that there are no options for chapter markers in FCP X (there are in Compressor). So you might want to assemble, then export, then author in iDVD or Toast.

Cannot burn an iMovie project to a DVD because the computer can't find iDVD.  Anyone know how to accomplish this task.

Macs don't come bundled with iDVD anymore. If you have an older Mac that came with an iLife disk, you can install iDVD from that.
If your Mac didn't come with iDVD, you can still find iLife '11 disks in some stores.
There are other programs that can create DVDs, but I've never used them. From what I've heard, they're not as good as iDVD.

  • Burn multiple iphoto albums to one dvd

    Hi,
I would like to burn multiple iphoto albums onto one dvd.
Any help would be much appreciated,
    Brandon

What's the destination of this disk? Another Mac with iPhoto? Then use the Share -> Burn command
Anything else: Select the Albums in the iPhoto Window and export them to Folders on the desktop. Then burn those folders with the Finder.
One exception: Going to view the files on a DVD player? You'll need to create the disk in iDVD.

While we all have MacBooks in this forum not all of us use iMovie. There's a iMovie Support Community where everybody uses iMovie. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.   https://discussions.apple.com/community/ilife/imovie

  • Burning multiple imovie projects to DVD

Students created projects in imovie, exported into iDVD. How can I burn
multiple students projects (approx. 3 min. each) onto ONE DVD?

    Welcome to the forums.
I don't think there's a way to combine iDVD projects without some serious tinkering. An alternative approach is to open iDVD and create a new project. You or they can now drag and drop their iMovie projects onto the menu area of iDVD (generally the lower half of the frame). You'll also need to create some submenus to fit all the videos onto a menu.
If your network prevents the drag/drop idea, a different strategy is for each student to Share/Export from iMovie into a self-contained, full quality Quicktime movie. You can drag/drop these into iDVD (as described above).

  • How do you import multiple iMovie projects into one iDVD project?

    Hi.
I'm 17, and am trying to create a DVD of when the family went on a cruise. For different places/days, I've created different iMovie projects.
But, when I want to export to iDVD, it only lets me put one iMovie project into one iDVD project?
I've tried dragging the actual iMovie project files into iDVD but that doesn't work.
I know I could export to QuickTime and then drag it into iDVD, but it seems exporting just to iDVD is much quicker, and the quality is better.
Anyone know how I can do this?
    cheers
+P.S. If it helps, it's iMovie '11 with iDVD '09.+

That is not true. You can use them all in one DVD. I have just created my first DVD which has a trailer, a movie with chapters and several different slide shows.
All you have to do is save each project to Media Browser. (Choose Share in toolbar). Open iDVD and choose your theme or no theme. On the right will be all your options such as audio, media photo's etc. Choose your various video's/projects etc and just drag and drop which ones you want to the page and they will automatically put themselves there with the given name of each video/project.

  • I just want to burn my imovie project to a dvd.  I have a macbook pro with retina display, the most recent update of imovie and mountain lion.

I can't seem to figure out how to burn my imovie to a dvd.  I have an external optical superdrive and blank dvds.  Is there a way to do it without downloading lots of other apps/software?  I bought a macbook instead of pc because I wanted the video/photo editing, I'll be disappointed if there isn't a convinent way to turn them into a hard copy dvd to share with family and friends.

Why is there no iDVD on my new Mac?

  • Multiple FCPX projects to one DVD - workflow struggles

I'm trying to create a dance recital DVD comprised of multiple projects, with the projects being four acts from a performance. I'd like to create a DVD that has a menu that allows the user to choose from the four acts.
I have one project created for each act, and have added titles and transitions for each of the dance numbers in each act. Because I want each dance to be a chapter, I sent each project to Compressor to add chapters. The chapters are created for each project, but now I'm unsure how to proceed.
I see how to create a Job Action to burn to DVD, but that prevents me from adding the other projects to the DVD. I have also considered combining the four projects into one large project, but then how do I add a menu that will allow the user to choose between the acts?
Must I ultimately create the DVD from Compressor (whose interface only an OS 9 user could love)? I'd like to create some graphics with Motion, but I'm not sure how to include them.
    Any help is appreciated.

I found no way to add the DVD files I created in Compressor to my project in iDVD 7.1.2. Since there is not a newer version of iDVD available at the App Store, it seems that is not a viable solution. Or I'm doing something wrong, which is always a strong possibility. But I've created a number of DVDs in the past using files from iMovie, so I suspect there may be an issue here.
Adding my DVD files from Compressor to my Toast project was simple. Unfortunately, the chapter markers I created in Compressor were not recognized by Toast; however, Toast allows you to create chapter markers, so I'm doing that there. And creating the markers in Toast is less clunky than doing so in Compressor, so that's preferable anyway.
So my workflow wound up looking something like this:
    Import video into FCPX
Create projects for each act, edit, add transitions and titles
Send each project to Compressor and create DVD video and audio
Add acts/projects to Toast file, add chapter markers, and create disk image
I hope this proves useful to someone else.

  • How do I burn an iMovie project onto a DVD?

I have recently completed an iMovie project, and I want to burn the project onto a DVD. I have exported the project and burnt it, but it only opens with iTunes and Quicktime, and I was hoping to play the movie on a DVD player. I am desperate and need assistance ASAP !!

When in iMovie, click Share then iDVD. In iDVD you can customize your dvd menu. After you are done, then click File, Burn DVD or ⌘+R. And it will ask you to insert your blank disk and then it will start burning. After it has completed the burn, it will ask you if you want to make another disk (if you want multiple copies). Your movie should then be viewable on any DVD player.
