Burn music to memory stick

CCan music from my iTunes library be burned/copied to a memory stick/ memory card

On the basis that a picture's worth a thousand words ... arrange your screen so that you can see iTunes and Windows Explorer at the same time.
in iTunes, show the songs that you want to copy
in Windows Explorer, open the thumb drive / memory card that you want to copy to.
Then:
In iTunes, select all the songs that you want to copy. In this example, its everything in a playlist so Ctrl-A on the keyboard will select everything in the playlist.
Hold down the left mouse button and move the pointer to the open Windows Explorer window
Release the mouse button - the songs will now copy
so that you end up with this:
You can do the same thing without having both iTunes and Windows Explorer visible on screen at the same time:
In iTunes, and with the songs selected as before, press Ctrl-A on the keyboard or click the right-hand button on the mouse and select Copy
Switch to Windows Explorer, again with the thumb drive / memory card open
Press Ctrl-V on the keyboard or right-click with the mouse and select Paste

You can use iTunes to do this.  Insert the memory stick into your computer and open it up as a folder.  Now go back to iTunes, highlight the tracks you want to copy, then drag them into the memory stick folder.
If you normally run iTunes in full-screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag.
The drag-n-drop puts a copy of the song file(s) onto the stick, and does not change anything in your iTunes libarry.  Try it first with a single song file, so you can see how it works, and then do your full albums.

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
Have you tried removing the RAM to see if those capabilities return to the iBook?
How big is the hard drive and how much space remains available on it?

    Hi Julian,
Another query was: When I try to download a .pdf document from a webpage, the Quicktime app., opens it, instead of Adobe, or Preview! Hence I onlyu see one page of what could be several pages.
I tried the Apple Guru but they still haven't phoned me back!
Do you know what the problem could be?
    Thanks.

  • Copy music from iTunes to USB Memory Stick

I am doing what I am supposed to do:
I highlight the songs I want to copy in iTunes.
I drag them to a fold in the USB Memory stick.
Every once in a while I get this error:
The item “name of song.mp3” can’t be replaced because it’s invisible.
I am dragging 100 songs at a time.  This happens about 1/3 of the time.  I then delete this "invisible" file.  Sometimes, when I go back to the iTunes song, I can drag it from iTunes to the momory stick.  Other times, I have to go to the file and drag it to the memory stick.
I have a 32 GB USB memory stick that I am loading up to play in my car radio.  Doing this 100 songs at a time is taking me days....
I am on OS 10.6.8.   I do have the OS setup so that I can see the invisible files.
It looks like, when I drag the music in, grayed out icons appear until the files copy.  Sometimes those icons apparently appear as invisible files.
The USB is formatted as MS-DOS (FAT) which is the way it arrived.  I suspect that these memory sticks have to be formatted that way for the radio to read the files, but I have not tried the Mac format.

After you copy the files to the flash drive...
    Open Terminal (in Applications/Utilities)
    Enter: dot_clean
    spacebar
drag the flashdrive from the Desktop to the Termnal window
    press enter

  • Exporting Music From iTunes To Flash/Memory Stick

So I did a search and the most relevant thread I could find is this one: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5923574&#5923574
Basically I'm going on a road trip with a friend who has a stereo head unit with a USB port, so you can plug in flash/memory sticks/cards (I'm spacing on the true terminology here). He asked if I bring along some tunes.
So I have a 2 gig stick that I want to load up.
Is it as easy as that thread above says? Make sure the tunes are in mp3 format, highlight, copy then paste?
Or is there an easier/better way to do this?
    Thanks in advanced.
    MM

If the stereo will play AAC, you can do that.
If it only accepts MP3, you will need to convert them.
iTunes prefs -> Advanced - Importing.
    Set it to MP3.
Create a new playlist and add all the songs you want to convert.
    Select all the songs.
Go to menu Advanced -> Convert selection to MP3.
When it's done, delete the playlist you just created.
    Create a new Smart playlist;
    Match rule;
    Date created is today
    Kind contains MPEG Audio
This should show everything you just converted.
Select all the songs and drag to the flash drive.

  • MP3 and Memory Stick

I am trying to convert my Library music to MP3 and load it on a memory stick/flash drive to be able to carry it and play the music on MP3 devices. I believe I understand that I must make a new Play List. Go to preferences and change Import Settings to MD3 but I cannot figure how to download to a flash drive. This seems to be for burning a CD. I can be totally wrong with this process for I do not understand how to choose the songs I want from the present I Tunes Library. I would like to change my existing music Library to a new playlist in MP3 and save all on the stick.
Any assistance with the process would be appreciated.

Hey. It seems you got the import settings switched over to .MP3, so what you need to do now is right click on the songs you want to convert to MP3 and select the "Create MP3 Version" option. This will cause it to create a duplicate version on each song you select that is in MP3 format. (You can choose whether or not you want to delete the original .m4a file.) After you have converted the songs you want to mp3 format, you can just drag the song from within iTunes to a folder on the flash drive and it will copy the song to the new location.

  • Converting itunes to mp3 for memory stick?..possible???

is it possible to transfer tunes from itunes library to a format that is able to be transfered to a memory stick for playing on a device such as a psp??...thanks

It depends what is in your iTunes library.
-If it is mp3s, no problem.
-If it is another unprotected format, use iTunes to convert it to mp3. To do this, make sure you have your import preference set to mp3. Then, right click the song and choose "Convert Selection to mp3."
-If it is songs purchased from the iTunes music store, they are in protected AAC format and the only approach is to burn them to audio CD and import them back as mp3.
Once you have what you want in mp3 format, Copy from the iTunes library, and Paste into the folder representing the memory stick.

  • How can I move an existing iTunes library from a Dell PC (which uses Windows Vista) to a MacBook Pro?  I have tried to copy the library from the PC onto a memory stick but cannot move from the stick onto the MacBook Pro.

I have tried to copy my iTunes library from my old (2008) Dell PC to a 32 GB memory stick and then copy it from the stick to the iTunes library in the new MacBook Pro which I purchased recently from a reputable dealer which resells refurbished Macs, (lease returns, etc).  The dealer was Computer Trends store in Saskatoon.  They told me how to move my existing iTunes libary from the PC to the Mac but I cannot seem to achieve that objective.  The Mac does not seem to recognize the memory stick.  I thought the Mac would recognize that the memory stick held iTunes files and would then transfer them without prompting to its own iTunes libary.  It did not do so.  I have therefore tried to find the command sequence within iTunes (on the Mac) for moving the material from the memory stick to the iTunes library.  Cannot find those commands.  Does anybody know where to find such commands.  I have to say, I am really disappointed that such a simple function would prove to be beyond my capabilities.  I thought the Mac was supposed to be easier than a PC.  !!!  Oh well, I am hoping this forum will help !!!

iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you use iTunes default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.
So, you can see your whole iTunes folder on the memory stick after copying from the PC?

  • How can I use my Geil DDR500 ultra platinum Memory stick at 500Mhz

Ok this is probally going to be simple for most people to fix, the problem is i can't seem to set up the bios to accept my DDR500 memory sticks. Everything I've tried results in either:
    > no display on boot (monitor just shuts off)
    > a message saying "times to tight bla bla"
    > shuts down of the computer occurs straight away after POST and will reboot with the too tight error
I'am really stuck and do not know if it is the way im setting the bios or that the mobo can't take the Geil sticks. I did post some threads a while back about them but know one seem to have the same ones as me.
This the setup i've been trying :

    Vcore=1.6v
    DDR voltage=1.8v
    agp voltage =1.5v
    memory= 2.5-4-4-7-8
but if i use this i get all the problems above, i can only seem to adjust only one thing of what i list in the setup i was trying, to have a stable system.
E.g if i change the memory timings i can't change anything else.

  • How can I transfer a podcast to memory stick?

I have several Podcasts in iTunes that I would like to keep ( I need to move them I am very short of memory) They are too 'big' to burn to disc, so I would like to put them onto a memory stick/flash drive. I have tried drag and drop, but that does not work!
    Any ideas?

I use an older iTunes version and I can move podcasts about as files.  It may be you are having problems copying to the memory stick.  I find I cannot drag from iTunes to a sub-folder on a FAT formatted drive, I have to copy it to the top level of the drive, then move it to a sub-folder, or do it all in Finder.

Assuming all your music and files will fit on a 2GB memory stick, you could use the method below with a minor adjustent.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173
If the whole thing won't fit on the memory stick, as seems likely, it would be better to go for another method such as the iPod as in the link or an external HD.
