Burn playlist in order

I've not been able to burn a playlist in the correct order.  It's an entire album i bought and downloaded off of itunes.  I have it sorted correctly in itunes, random is off.  I've looked at a number of blogs on this, and nothing has resolved it so far.  Thanks.

This worked for me. I burned 4 CDs and when I opened each the songs were in the wrong order.
Put the CD you burned in and when the track list appears click on the first column with the up pointing arrow above
the track numbers. When I did this the tracks appeared in the proper order. And magically when I put the other CDs in the tracks were in the proper order on them also. Hope this works for you too.

  • Burned playlist to data DVD; song out of order

Why would "Burn Playlist to Disk' change the order of the songs in a playlist? Mine came our sorted by album name...not in the order I created in the playlist.
Have I got some setting wrong?

by album. I've tried all the variations of "album" too, by clicking on it a few times.
But I just discovered that if I don't have the track number listed in the Info section, that it gets out of order. I've manually changed a few and it has worked. Just wish I got it before it went into the system.

  • HT1711 when burn playlist, songs are no longer in numerical order?

When burn playlist, the Cd songs are not in numerical order. How do I fix?

Sort on the track number (or any other column you want to sort on).

  • How do I Force a playlist play order?

I want to make a playlist to play in a particular order, so I can burn a CD for playback with that same order.
I don't see a way to change the order in the BURN list, so is there way to change the playlist play order?
I don't want to force it by changing the track name, because it screws up the sort order (like alphabetic title for instance).

Have you tried dragging the tracks in the playlist into the order you want them in? Open the playlist and click on the number column (extreme left). Click on the song you want to move, hold down the mouse button and drag the song to where you want it to be. Make sure neither Shuffle or Repeat are switched on in the playlist, either of those can prevent you reordering tracks.

i have a 2008 imac with snow leopard.  i installed update 10.9.3 not realizing it's best for Maverick's users.  Now my Itunes 11.2.2 won't burn playlists to CD.   Anyone else with this problem?  CAn I uninstall the 10.9.3 update?  Also my HP scannerwill not save the displayed scanned document since this update!  it just saves gray.

If you have your old system backed up then erase the drive and restore your backup. If you don't have a backup then backup your entire Home folder. Erase the drive and install Snow Leopard after which you can restore your Home folder from the backup.
    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
    Or you can:
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.3 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Update (Combo).
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.3 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Update (Combo).

Are you burning an audio CD?  If so, drag the songs to an iTunes playlist,  put the playlist in the order you want, and then with the playlist still open, burn to disc using the command File > Burn Playlist to Disc.

  • Sudden new problem re: burning playlists

Since upgrading to the newest version of itunes, when I go to burn a playlist, the order of the playlist changes during the burning process. It looks like itunes re-orders the playlist alphabetically by artist name. Why is that happening? Prior to the most recent upgrade, the playlists would always burn in the order in which the songs are listed. Anyone else experiencing this new problem? Anyone know how to fix it?

I have had the same problem, plus when the CD being burned is in MP3 format folders are created based on the artists. This means it is no longer possible to program individual tracks to play in a selected order, they automatically get played in folder order. Is there a way of buning tracks in a root directory and eliminating the folders?

  • Can not burn playlists

Until recently all was well with Itunes and the way it functioned. I believe it was after a software upgrade I lost the abilty to burn playlists. The error message is something like can not find cd driver software. It shows the DVD Burner but instead of it being the D: drive it shows it as F:
I do not belleve that I changed anything else on my computer.
I have removed and reloaded Itunes, tried the repair Itunes function but the problem remains the same. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Mel,  Sure, although that is "copying," not "burning."  It is easily done, as follows:
Insert the USB stick into your computer, and open it up so it looks like a folder.  Highlight the songs you want in iTunes, and drag them into the folder.
If you normally run iTunes in full screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag.

  • I am trying to burn a DVD from an iphoto album, I placed it in the order I want , but it does not burn in that order, and has picked up other photos not in the album

I have created an album of phots, moved into order I want to burn, cd and dvd. It burned out of order in album and also added pictures not in Album highlighted to burn. Also was hard to view all pictures and move more quickly into order to view. I am use to using powerpoint and shows all slides at 1 time small thumnails so easy to move

Re the order on the DIsk:
When you export from iphoto you are in the Finder and that doesn't have the same sorting options as iPhoto. There is no "manual" sorting in the Finder, for instance.
Here's one (of several) way(s) to do what you want:
Make an Album of the photos, then drag the pics into your preferred order.
Then Photos Menu: Batch Change -> Set Title to Text "John's Birthday", for instance, and tick the box to append a number to each Photo. Now your photos are titled 'John's Birthday 001, John's Birthday 002 ... etc'
Then File -> Export and in the Export dialogue set the Filename to "Use Title"
Sort on Filename in the FInder and you end up with a folder full of images in the same order as the Album in iPhoto.
    Burn that to the disk.
I'm sorry but I haven't a clue what the rest of your query is about.
    Regards

  • Can't Burn Playlists to Disc ... Error 43 ... iTunes was Not Properly Installed ... Diagnostics Included

Hi. Immediately after installing iTunes a dialogue window appears stating that "itunes was not properly isntalled. if yuou wish to import or burn cds you need to reinstall itunes." This happens even after I complete the installation w/ antivirus disabled.  Indeed, I am unable to burn playlists to cds.  Upon attempting to do so, iTunes produces the ambiguous error message:  "Disc Recording not found ..."
My instinct tells me this is a problem w/ the GEAR driver software. I've uninstalled the driver manually, and then reinstalled it as per: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2308 (Solution 3). Still, the problem persists.
    Any ideas?????

If it's any help I have found I can't burn discs any longer in this precise version of iTunes. I have gone back to the previous version where everything is fine in this respect. My symptoms were not quite the same as yours but the result was the same - I couldn't burn discs. Yours is the first post on this I've found so I suspect Apple may not be aware of the issue or it is affecting relatively few users. If I find a solution I will post again and meanwhile hope that the next update solves the problem.

  • IOS5 Playlist Sort Order Issue (not smart list just normal playlist)

So i cant figure out why my music wont sort thwy way i wanted to in each of my playlist. Before IOS5 i can sort my songs in my playlist to what ever  i wanted and not it just stuck at oldest song added to newest song added.. i want it the other way around...
What happen apple? it was fine in the last OS... am i missing something here.
I would like the ability to sort my music any which way i want to!

Ugh..  This is driving me crazy!  Yes, the adding of the rule "playlist is music" fixes this issue when you're syching an ipad or iphone, etc.  BUT, that very rule causes iTunes Match to fail!  So for any of my devices I have iTunes match enabled for...which is all of them now, my playlists are all jumbled.  Here's an example of how weird this issue is:
On my iPad I can see my playlists.  When I click on the playlist the music order seems random.  I have to select a track to play.  Once I've done that, I can click on the picture of the album up at the top where it lists how far into the track you are, etc. and that changes the screen to a full sized picture of the album.  At the bottom of THIS screen is another playlist icon (bottom right of the screen).  If I tap THAT item, suddenly my playlist is listed CORRECTLY.  I can then select the first track of the playlist and tracks will play in the proper order after that.
This is absolutely insane and so opposite of Apple's "it's simple" and "it just works" mantra that it's not even funny.  To play my smart playlists in order on my iPad or iphone with iTunes Match enabled, I have to select a playlist, get a track playing, change the display to show the album cover, tap the playlist icon at the bottom of THAT new display, and THEN I can select the first track in my playlist and everything is good.  Something needs to be done about this.  It's been an issue since iTunes Match was activated.  BTW, iTunes Match won't synch smart playlists with the "playlist is music" rule selected because it says that 'playlists that reference other playlists' cannot by synched.  It was crazy to have to add that rule to begin with but I could live with it.  Now, there's simply no apparent way to fix the issue.

Those are the instructions for your computer's iTunes (i.e. using the Store menu at the top of your computer's iTunes and selecting 'View My Account' on it). If you are doing it on your iPad then are you following the instructions for iOS devices :
    To unhide your purchases
Depending on the content type, open the App Store, iBooks, or iTunes Store on your device.
Scroll to the bottom of the main page.
If you're not already signed in, tap Sign In.
Tap your Apple ID name, then tap View Account.
Scroll down on the Account pane, and tap Hidden Purchases.
Locate the item you would like to unhide then tap the Unhide button.
