Burned photos that were not selected

Using iPhoto 11, I selected photos from an album for burning to a DVD-R.  All seems to go well.  But when I reinserted the DVD many other photos were also burned.  These other photos were imported from my camera at the same time as the selected photos but were not in the album.  ??

Select the photos adn export to a desktop folder - you can verify the contents of that folder if you have questions - then right click on that folder and burn to disk

  • How do I recover photos that were NOT backed up from ipod touch 4th generation?

I have a iPod Touch (4TH Genration). It was frozen for two days straight on the apple logo. I kept holding the two keys and tried to connect it to itunes and it wouldn't budge. On the third day I conected it to itunes, and it told me that it nedded to be restored and that my photos would be backed up. Now here I am with a funny acting ipod and NO photos!
Does anyone know how to get photos that were not backed up?

    Try these third party alternatives:

Thanks for your quick response. I thought I had tried that but I must not have because it worked perfectly.

When just starting Icloud can I upload previous 30 days of photos that were not taken while on Icloud?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In addition to new photos being automatically added to your photostream album, you can also manually add any photo, regardless of when it was taken.
Just tap the share icon when viewing any photo and choose photostream.

  • How-to? Reimport photos that were not copied to iPhoto Library

    Help? Please!
When I imported hundreds of photos from my external USB drive I had unchecked the Advanced preference option for coping files to the iPhoto Library.
Now when I try to import from my iPhone any file, iPhoto comes up and tells me the it can't find IMG_028 or some such photo, (it's rather random to me a human). My guess is that it is trying to compare a new photo on the iPhone with some photo that is on the external drive (but the drive is in another city at the moment) so I end up hitting about 20 or 40 cancel buttons to get iPhoto to import the new pictures.
Is there a fix? Almost any fix short of deleting everything and starting over will work for me.
I'm thinking of some way that I could re-import the hundreds of photos and this time allow them to be copied to the Library - but I don't want duplicates and then the same issue.
Is there a way to "move" the files from the external HD into the Lib and replace the pointer to the external HD with one to the Lib?
    Help!? - Thanks!

  • My iPhone 4 was run over at work worked fine  for 5 days then got really hot and shut down. I can not get it to power back up. I have photos that were not backed up is there anyway that I can retrieve my photos from the phone?

MY iPhone 4 was run over at work by a forklift the screen was badly cracked but other than that worked fine for 6 days. Then it got really hot while charging and shut down and will not  power back up. I have photos on this phone that we're not backed up to I cloud is there any way to retrieve my photos from this phone?

No. You probably should have backed it up while it was working during those 6 days...

  • "PHOTOS FOUND IN THE iPHOTO LIBRARY THAT WERE NOT IMPORTED"

Ever since I imported some videos from a memory stick about 2 weeks ago, my iPhoto opens with the above message and then says that I need to save some photos that were not imported, and then precedes to create an empty folder of 'RECOVERED PHOTOS" with increasing sequential numbers and then stores it on the hard drive.
There is also a little message which pops down from the top when I go to close i-photo and am not sure what it says as it is too quick and I have never had this problem previously and now it is getting annoying!
Has anyone any idea how to make it stop doing this??? The 3 videos that I uploaded in iPhoto originally had to be converted to movies/ quick player however they only appeared as photos in first frame in i-photo and dont appear anywhere in my iMovie catalogue -please help if you can!
    Thank you!

TERENCE DEVLIN - YOU ROCK!! Yes - I did what you suggested step by step and the import folder contained 3 files - Originals, Modified and another one. There were lots of the files with nothing in them and then the videos that I was speaking about repeated about 5 - 6 times in separate folders and different formats - bizarre - or maybe not really if I knew how the import mechanism of the software worked - but thankfully for me - I have your advice and it worked!!
The little message on closing about critical something or other blah, blah, is still there on closing and I don't remember it previously, but maybe it was always there.
All I know is there are no more questions about recovered folders and storing them on my C or whatever drive it is and my little films are intact. I will post another separate message about i-movie recognising these films, which I think they should at a later date.
As a first time brand new mac user (Christmas present Jan 10 - and very proud of it too!) I am amazed at the support available, Genius Bar (although I live in London and it is booked out a week in advance at anytime after office (me) work hours!) I am however also very grateful for the forum as I have never used a forum before and I can see why you deserve your *** rating as Apple support were slightly helpful when I called, but they are so busy and my lovely boyfriend (a long term mac user) told me to get online and ask the techy oracles - so thank you ever so much TD!!

  • Random selection of rows from a 2D array then subset both the rows that were selected and those that were not. Please see message below.

For example, I have a 2D array with 46 rows and 400 columns. I would like to randomly select 46 data rows from the 2D array. By doing the random selection it means that not all individual 46 rows will be selected some rows may appear more than once as there may be some duplicates or triplicates in the random selection. The importan thing is that we will have randomly selected 46 rows of data (no matter that some rows appear more than once). Then I would like to subset these randomly selected 46 data rows (some which will be duplicated, or triplicated, etc.) and then also find and subset the rows that were not selected. Does this make sense? Then i would like to do this say 10 times for this data set. So that then I will have 2 by 10 data sets: the first 10 each with 46 rows and the other 10 with n rows depending on how many WERE NOT randomly selected. i hope that my explanation is clear. I am relatively new to Labview. It is really great so I am getting better! If anyone can help me with this problems it will be great. RVR

Start by generating randon #s between 0 and 45. Run a for loop X times and in it use the random function, multiply the result by X and round down (-infinity). You can make this into a subVI, which you can reuse later. In the same loop, or in a different one, use Index Array to extract the rows which were selected (wiring the result out of the loop with auto indexing causes it to be rebuilt into a 2D array).
One possible solution for the second part would be to go over the array of randomly generated numbers in a for loop and use Search 1D Array to find each of the numbers (i). If you get -1, it means the row wasn't selected and you can extract it.
I hope this puts you on the right path. If not, don't be afraid to ask more.
To learn more about LV, I suggest you read the LabVIEW user manual. Also, try searching this site and google for LabVIEW tutorials. Here and here are a couple you can start with. You can also contact your local NI office and join one of their courses.
In addition, I suggest you read the LabVIEW style guide.

  • LR3 Syncronize folder finds "missing" photos that are not missing

Having switched to LR3 I made some new catalogs and syncrnized some folders.  LR3 kept find a ton of missing photos though and I was sure they were not missing.  SO I clicked on the "show missing files" button and sure enough it just showed me hundreds of photos that were not actually missing.  I checked them by right clicking on them and using the "show in finder" option to check that they were indeed still on my disk.
Whats happening ?  It seems to do it every time and I have tried it with several folders.  Every time it thought it found hundreds of missing photos.

    Melissa,
I did not upgrade my catalog from LR2 to 3 , instead I started an entirely new catalog. I was hoping then to import some old LR2 catalogs into the new LR3 one but alas that plan has fallen foul of the import bug that effects importing catalogs with the same folders in them so I cant do that..... but thats all in another thread.
I think maybe I was not clear enough becuase it sounds like you didnt quite catch my point.  My point is that the photos are not missing at all, they ares still clrearly displayed in the catalog and I can double click them and open them no problem.  I do not have to locate them at all. They are still there.  It is just lightroom saying they are not there when i sync a folder.
So to clarify, when i syncronize,it tells me that X number of files are missing.  If I click the button to "show missing files"  all the photos that it shows, are still there.  It does not display them as missing, it displays them as normal.  Now this would not reall be a problem except that the sync default is to remove missing files.  So if you leave that option selected, LR removes a ton of files that were not missing!
Does that make it clearer, sorry i was not so clear the first time.

  • Error Message: Photos found in iPhoto Library that were not imported

BACKGROUND: I recently migrated my iPhoto'07 library of around 12,000 photos over to iPhoto'08. I reorganized all my albums as events. After that, I've been adding some old photos to my new iPhoto'08 library. Currently I have around 15,000 pictures in my iPhoto'08 library.
PROBLEM: Recently, iPhoto gives me this message "990 photos have been found in the iPhoto Library that were not imported". The number (990) has been growing with more pictures I add to the library.
OLD POSTS: Searching for prior posts related to this error in this forum, I came across a suggestion to delete the library and reimport the photos. Given my large library size (15000 photos, 60GB - all organized as events, no albums), this solution will take a lot of manual work.
QUESTION: If anyone out there has a suggestion for how to fix this, it'll be deeply appreciated. Thanks!

    periyar:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Open the iPhoto library package and look for any folders names Import or Imported or something like that. Here's what normally would be in the package. If you find any folders like that them move them to the desktop, open iPhoto and import.
If there are no pending import folders try rebuilding the library and select all the options. If they are true orphans they should be imported at that time.
Don't start over with a new library quite yet. If you have to there are ways we can preserve the keywords and comments. Also, with the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager you could copy all of the "known" photo from the old library to a new one including the albums, comments and titles. Then you can do some comparing of the two library packages and see where these left out files are.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Photos in iphoto library that were not imported

when I open Iphoto, I get a message that says "28 photos were found in the iphoto library that were not imported. Would you like to import them"? If I say yes, I am shown 28 unreadable files that could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or may not contain valid data". If I say no, it creates a file to store them in under pictures (iPhoto library recovered photos). The reason I got these photos is kind of complicated. I realized when I moved my files from my old PC to my new IMac, I had not been copying them to the iPhoto library but they were still located in the original location. In the process of copying/deleting, things got all messed up. Does anybody know how I can get rid of these unimported photos? Thanks! I have an IMac using iPhoto 8

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
    Start iPhoto. Does that help?

  • Photos  have been found in the iPhoto Library that were not imported

Every time I open iPhoto 9 (version 8.0.3) I get the following message: "photos have been found in the iPhoto Library that were not imported. Would you like to import them?"
Whether I click "yes" or "no" (it doesn't matter) a "recovered photo" folder is created that contains six documents with long names, such as "8E7471DB-A316-4640-A4EE-98293772E434-269-000002802B328A1B". And even when they are "recovered", the very next time I open iPhoto I have to go through the same thing over again.
I can't find where the originals are or why iPhoto keeps wanting to import these documents.

I tried to right click the photo album icon in my library
Is that referred to in an earlier post?
Seems to me that the suggestion is to
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.

  • Opening iPhoto photos in library that were not imported and then unreadable

    Hello all:
    When opening iphoto08 (7.1.5) I'm getting a message:
1742 photos have been found in the iPhoto library that were not imported. Would you like to import them.
Clicked yes: Unreadable files 999. The following files could not be imported...they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data.
Then" have been placed in a folder named iPhoto Library Recovered Photos
    TIA for any help!

If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.

  • Photos found that were not imported

    Hi,
I am totally new to the Mac having just bought a new iMac (was still using Windows this time last week) and am starting to use iPhoto. Sorry if this is a really obvious question, I'm just starting to get used to things!
Every time I launch iPhoto '09 I am getting the message "2 Photos have been found in the iPhoto Library that were not imported. Would you like to import them?" If I select yes, the message comes up again, I select yes again and the application says it is importing, it creates a new folder in iPhoto called Recovered photos but it is empty. If I select No I get a message saying the photos have been placed in the folder Users/name/Pictures/iPhoto Library Recovered Photos_x with x being a number which increases on each occasion. Inside each of these folders are 2 files which look like long Hexidecimal numbers, I cannot do anything with the files other than delete them. Can anyone help???
    Thanks in advance,
    Colin

this is one of the very, very few times you should make a change to your iPhoto library using the finder - quit iPhoto and go to your pictures folder and right click (control click) on the iPhoto library and select the show package contents command - find the folder in the iPhoto library names import (or importing) and drag it to the desktop - launch iPhoto and you will be ok
Open the import(ing) folder on the desktop and if there are photos in it that you want in iPhoto import them -then trash the import(ing) folder
And remember that as a normal rule you should never make any changes to the content or structure of the iPhoto library - doing so can corrupt your library and may cause you to lose data
