Burned playlist emits a strange noise between tracks

I have burned a playlist temporarily to a CD-RW and, when played back on my car cd-player, a very brief 'zzzzzp' noise is emitted between tracks. When I say playlist, it is in fact 20 tracks contained within a folder that I've created in ITunes. Could the fact that it is not a pure playlist be the problem? If not, any other ideas would be appreciated.

Hello Brenden and thanks for the reply.
I converted the ITunes format to MP3 so that it would play on my home cd player which the manufacturer tells me is the only format it will play. I don't get the 'zzzzzp' noise on there, only in the car which is obviously a different make. I also used MP3 because I wanted all the info about the tracks to be displayed, which I believe will not with audio cd format.
I'm at the CD-RW stage at the moment because I'm still deciding on track order and didn't want to commit to CD-R until that's over. The CD-RW is playing in both my home cd player and the car. I may just have to wait and see as you suggest with the CD-R.

  • Burning problem: even after no delay between tracks, still get a noise

I want to burn a CD with no delay between tracks. I have selected 0 seconds in the Burning preferences as the delay. It works except that there is a short "blip" stutter sound at the start of every track...how can I get rid of this?
Like if the speech track is in the middle of the word, the sentence will sound like "Four score and Sev[blip]ven years ago..."

  • Temporary freeze between tracks?

iTunes is freezing for about 30 seconds between tracks between most (not all and randomly). I have no library and am just playing stuff off my iPhone connected to iTunes. It is a fresh and updated install of 8.1. The diagnostics all come back as positive and all my other programs are responding and active during these freezes but iTunes completely freezes. I am running a Dell XPS M1710 w/ 2GB Ram and a Core 2 Duo processor, so I can't imagine it is a hardware issue. My other player (Windows media) plays the MP3s in a playlist just fine. Usually between tracks the phone will say that it is syncing and it will only say that AFTER the freeze is over which makes me think that it is not the iPhone. Is it just dome crazy iTunes bug? Should I just reinstall? Just seeing if anyone else has had that problem. Everything plays fine at home (Vista Ultimate), so I am not sure if it has to do with this install or maybe the fact that I am on a domain (XP Pro SP 3) at work? No idea.... Thanks!

This exact same thing is happening to me too. At first I thought it was my external hard drive where I keep all my music was damaged, but then when I plugged my Ipod in to directly play of it, the same thing happens. Some one please help! Should I re-install Itunes?????

  • Burned CD's: strange noise on inner tracks

    Hi everybody,
since I upgraded my system with a S-ATA DVD burner, I get a strange issue when I write my playlists to CD-R's.
The burned disc has got a persistent noise on the inner tracks and the more the track number raises the more I can hear the noise.
It's not like static or something like that.
It's a weird looping sound that accompanies the track from start to end.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards

Hi I'm having the same problem here. I've been using iTunes for ages now. Very strange. I've tried burning via another CR Rwiter but still the same strange noise and on different places. Lookst like a software bug to me. Anybody got lucky solving this?

  • Strange Noise on Burned Cd from Itunes

I have had itunes for well over a year now, and have never had a problem like this so far.
It seems just lately, in the past 3 weeks, when I make an audio cd with purchased itunes music, there is a strange noise on random tracks when I play the cd in my car.
I have always purchased albums off itunes store, and then created a playlists of them and burned discs using itunes. It has always worked perfectly. It is also my way of backing up my music.
I bought 3 albums in the past 3 weeks- Every song plays fine on itunes, and on my ipod, but when I burn the songs onto a disc and play it in my car, the song will start playing normally, and then at random times in the songs a loud obnoxious noise blasts through my speakers and scares the crap out of me, but only for a second, then it continues playing normally. It seems to be only random tracks too. The first cd I made, it was tracks 2, 6, and 12. Then I just bought another album, and burned it to disc, and same thing, only different tracks this time, 4, 5, and 10. It's completely random and there is nothing wrong with the discs I am using. I can't for the life of me think of what could be wrong.
Anyone having a similar issue? Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Renee

  • How do I define gap between tracks in playlists?

how do I define gap between tracks in a playlist in iTunes? (So that the gaps will be a part of the playlist after syncronizing to an iPhone.)
This is for tracks imported from LogicPro, not ripped from a CD.
    Thanks for answer

Since iTunes has no such feature, the way to do it is to create short tracks of silence.  Add them to your iTunes library, and insert them as separators between other tracks in the playlist.  You can use the same track multiple times in the same regular playlist.
I have not used Logic Pro, but I am fairly sure it can be used to create a short track of silence.

  • ITunes10 burns playlist in messed-up track order

I have a 17 track playlist and I want to burn it exactly in the order the tracks are positioned. I edited all tracks being part of a compilation, named them the same album, edited the track numbers, marked 'remember playback position' and 'part of a gapless album'.
I burned 3 cd's and each time, iTunes burns the tracks by artist in alphabetical order.
How can I make iTunes burn so that it respects the order of the tracks in the playlist?

  • Strange noise emitted from iphone a few seconds after I hang up.

Since the most recent iphone update, my phone emits a strange sound after I hang up from a phone call. It usually happens a couple of seconds after I hang up. Basically it sounds like the speaker phone clicks on and then off, emitting gibberish for about half a second.
Has anyone else had this problem?

this is the absolute first time I have seen this... things I would try is this...
first I would try rebooting the phone by holding the sleep/wakeswitch and home button until you see the white apple logo appear
second I would try restoring from a backup
and if that doesn't work i would try restoring as new
if all that fails take it back to the apple store..

  • AP54G generates a strange noise while operating

    Hello guys!
Is that normal, that my MSI AP54G Access Point generates a silent, strange noise (like a TV when there's no signal), while it is operating? I noticed it one or two days ago and I don't know, whether it is a normal thing or not. Ummm... I think, I have to tell you, that some days ago I dropped the AP (accidentally) from about one meter high... so I think that can be the reason why the AP emits such a strange noise. Anyway, it is operating perfectly, it has a very strong and stable signal and I'm fully satisfied with it, but I'm afraid, that this noise could cause some trouble in the future, for example burn down the AP or even explode it?
    Thanks for your help!
    Greetings:
    Gery

    Thanks... you are very helpful...
Don't you guys use this AP? I'm the only one, who uses it? Well, I think not.
And what about you guys working for MSI?? You don't read the forum of your own company??

  • Error 4310 when burning playlist to CD

I'm trying to use the Burn to Playlist function in iTunes and which is failing immediately on starting and I'm receiving a pop-up box with the message "The attempt to burn disc failed. An unknown error occurred (4310)."
I'm running on Windows 8 on a newish Dell Inspiron 14R laptop, using the latest version of iTunes 11.0.4.4.
After trailing through Google  I've tried the following reported solutions without success:
    1.  reduce the speed of the burn
    2. changing the default gap between songs from 2 second to none
    3. shutting down other disc burning software running in the background/system tray (in my case it was Nero)
    4. tried new blank CDs in the CD drive
    5. using different brands of CD
    6. checked my dvd driver and the status is "This device is working properly."
    7. including and excluding iTunes purchased music
    8. reopening iTunes by right-clicking on iTunes icon on Desktop and selecting "Run as administrator" ...... this seemed to have the only impact as it at least ran the entire playlist to run the "Preparing disk" process in iTunes before the "Cancelling disc burn" message appeared at the point of failure
Any other suggestions? This seems to be a common problem for the past few years... why aren't Apple doing anything about fixing it??

  • Burning audio over multiple discs - BUT NO TRACK INFO!

This problem has been occurring for so long I can't believe I've waited this long to vent.
I went to burn a playlist to audio CD that would need to span three (3) discs. After the 3rd disc burns, I check discs 1 and 2 and neither have ANY track info. Just Track 1, Track 2, ... This does me no good. The track info only burns for the last disc in sequence. This is a repeatable problem and is so terribly annoying that it makes me wish there was a good viable alternative to iTunes.
Please help if you know any way to prevent this from happening.

Swank, you will have to edit this information in yourself on the secondary computer. This link explains why burned audio CD's don't have track information on another computer.

  • Gaps between tracks...

I am an EDM DJ and there is nothing worse than listening to a set with gaps between tracks. Upon burning a cd via iTunes I make sure that the set is gapless and specify a 0 second gap between tracks. Why am I still getting gaps in the final burn?

Actually, I have never had this problem using other burning software (windows). I seem to only have the issue when using iTunes. Obviously burning with iTunes is the way to go versus using Toast, etc...
    Any other ideas?

  • Burned playlist to data DVD; song out of order

Why would "Burn Playlist to Disk' change the order of the songs in a playlist? Mine came our sorted by album name...not in the order I created in the playlist.
Have I got some setting wrong?

by album. I've tried all the variations of "album" too, by clicking on it a few times.
But I just discovered that if I don't have the track number listed in the Info section, that it gets out of order. I've manually changed a few and it has worked. Just wish I got it before it went into the system.

  • WaveBurner - Click and pops between tracks? Solution!

I've been aware of the 'clicks between tracks' problems with Wave Burner, but until this last week, I hadn't had cause to master an album with cross fades for a long time. So, when at the weekend I mastered an 18 cross faded track compilation, I suddenly experienced what many users have been complaining about!
To cut a long story short, I have the solution to get round the problem until Apple fix it with an update (hopefully soon).
The cause of the clicks is where the purple track index pointer is placed in relation the frame rate.
To get rid of the clicks, you need to open the audio track image in waveburner out to its maximum resolution, ie as large as it gets, and move the purple start and end points so they snap EXACTLY to the nearest frame rate, NOT between frame rates, which is where they will be when causing clicks. I must stress that you have to open out the view to it maximum, because if you don't do that, you'll think you're moving it to the frame rate, but in fact, you won't be. eg ool at the first track purple index point; it starts exactly on 00.00.00 and ends exactly on 00.02.00 (assuming a 2 second index point). All subsequent id points must be as exact as that, they cant be in between the marker points. Hope that makes sense.
Also, If you're experiencing a 'pop' at the end of the album, then ensure that your end audio track ends on a frame rate point, and the 'pop' will be gone!
Basically, if apple ensure that any scissor cuts in audio 'click to frame rate' then the problem will be solved. Interestingly enough though, previous versions of WB didn't click to frame rate either, so why the problem is now there, I don't know.
I played around with this over the weekend, placing id points in cross faded tracks on six different albums, discovering clicks on all 6, then I did the above and 100% it solved the problem.
Hope that helps users and points apple in the right direction to issue a fix quick!!

I believe this problem is due to having the plug-in Soundflower from Cycling 74 active through an aggregate sound driver. When I changed the sound driver to another aggregate sound driver w/o Soundflower, thereby de-activating Soundflower, the problem seemed to go away. I need to do some more checking though to make sure it really is gone and it was Soundflower.
