Burning a DVD - error message

I get the following error message when I attempt to burn my DVD:
"There were errors during the project validation that have to be fixed before burning the project."
I am not sure what I have to do to correct this.

Did you already read this procedure?

From iDvd's Help Menu:
Each iDVD theme comes with a specific style of menu buttons, but you can customize them in several ways. You can give the buttons a shape to which you can add video clips, images, or even slideshows. You can change the typeface, size, style, and color of the button label text. You can also create buttons without a label or buttons that are text only. You can even make each button that appears on a menu different by mixing styles for an interesting visual effect.

  • Having trouble burning a dvd - error message.

I recently bought a 2009 macbook on ebay, and when I tried to burn a dvd, it didn't work and would scratch up my discs.  I informed the person I bought it from, and they were nice enough to replace the drive.  I just got it back in the mail and have been trying to burn dvds, but I keep getting an error message when using Toast version 10 and also trying on Toast 8 that says:
    The Drive reported an error;
    Sense Key = Medium Error
    Sense Code = 0x02
    NO SEEK COMPLETE
It will start burning on and then when writing the lead out on toast 10, it gives me an error, and that was the error message I caught when I tried to burn using toast 8.  With toast 8 it barely started before that message came up.  I have been trying with Sony DVD-R discs that I am able to use on my mom's iMac from 2008.  I'm confused; should I try a different kind of disc?

    Welcome to discussions.
Be certain to use good DVD media.
You may want to try using Verbatim or Maxell DVD-R 4X.
Also, save the project as a disk image and burn it as slowly as possible with either the disk utility or Toast™.

  • Burning to DVD error messages

FCP gives error message "the video file is incompatible" when attempting to burn in share menu - works when burned in compressor - tried emptying out the render cache and re-render still same error, any clues why?

Please confirm that you are running the ancient OS Panther 10.3 and which version of iDVD you are using.
It sounds as if your system is in need of serious repair, but firstly: how much free space do you have on your hard drive?

If you don't have a SuperDrive you will not be able to burn DVDs.
Did iDVD come preinstalled on your Mac?  If it did then you should have a SuperDrive and be able to burn DVDS. Check the Disk Burning section of System Information

  • Can't burn discs. Error message: The disc can't be burned because the device failed to calibrate the laser level for this media     can't be burned because the device

Cannot burn discs. Error message: "The disc can't be burned because the device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media". Then the blank disc is ejected.

    Two main possible causes:
    1. Poor media. Verbatim DVD-R work best, burned at only 2x or 4x.
    2. Dirty lens. Try cleaning the superdrive with a proprietary CD/DVD lens cleaner that uses tiny brushes.

  • Idvd can't burn .mov with error message

    Hi guys,
I just finished a 57 min. project with Final Cut Express4 containing 8 sequences. I export them separately.  I burned them with idvd : File>Export>Quick Time Movie (self contained uncheck), I include Audio & Video as usual and save them in the Movie Folder as .mov; everything goes fine and I can watch them both in computers and TVs. But when I export the entire project with chapter markers (exactly the same way I did for the above), the result is different, and the idvd refuse to burn it, an error message says ”unsupported file type: broken reference movie”.   Those exported in separate sequences are shown as .mov with a picture icon in my Movie Folder while the other 2 exported with chapter markers are also shown with .mov but with a QuickTime Movie icon.  Although these with Quick Time Movie icon are not accepted by the idvd, I still can burn them through the dvdproj file, but the product can be played with computers only.
I know I must have done something wrong but I don’t know what it’s.  Some one is kind enough to help please.
    Thank you.

First of all, thank you folks for the responds.  I check back as suggested and found the following: -
    Hi Al
All the Chapters Markers are more than 2 seconds apart and are more than 2 seconds from start points; all sequences are well butted without any gap in between.  However there are markers marked a few frames after the sequences started, which means the previous sequence ended a few frames before the Chapter Markers.  If this is overlap, what should I do from here?  Please walk me through.  Thank you again.  puisum
    Hi MartinR
I am sure you read my response to Alchroma. You both having valuable points.  Now, this is a very good question “if I nest the sequences”. To be honest with you, I am not 100% sure what I did (because this project have been sitting in my computer for 9 months) I but I think I start the entire project with only one sequence at the beginning and I use copy & paste to make the 8 sequences after I put in the chapter makers.  At this point, I have found some problems on the Chapter Markers and I am sure Alchroma doesn’t mind to walk me through then I will take it from there.  Please don’t give up on me yet.  Thank you in anticipation.  puisum

  • DVD error message when burning

    Hi there all,
When I try to burn a DVD using Toast Titanium, I keep getting this message, it's been going on for a week or so now!
Message reads: "The drive reported an error:

    Any ideas/thoughts?
    Thanks

  • CD not burning and no error messages... it just isn't burning

I am having a similar problem to Ol Buddy (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=729061&tstart=0). I burnt 2 CDs a couple of months ago. But, since then I've upgraded to iTunes 7. Today, first message I got was that the playlist was too big. But I selected the "no" option. I removed a couple of songs and now when I select burn CD, it checks playlist then... nothing happens.
I can't really get better CDs, because after past problems I'm already using Verbatim. I've included the CD diagnostic. The error 4251 I think was an error I encountered last time, but burnt fine when I repeated the burn. This time I am not getting any error messages. It just isn't burning.

I am having the same problem. I don't get an error message, the system checks the playlist and then iTunes completely freezes. This started shortly after I downloaded the newest version of iTunes. Does anybody have any suggestions?

  • Arrrrggg!  I can't take it - DVD error messages & wasted disc!

I'm sick of this - my super drive, while trying to burn backups of digital photos, goes through the entire burn process, burns the disc, only to give an error message 15 minutes later to the effect that the disc is unreliable, use a new one. This happens 2 out of 3 attempts while mysteriously the 1 out of 3 tries is successful. Also, 2 out of 3 times I put a blank DVD disc in it never shows up in the finder. I'm using the right disc (DVD-R 8x) and here's my drive info - please give me some helpful advice before I chuck my machine into the Chicago River!!!

    Hi,
The 'superdrive'(actually a Pioneer DVR-107) in my G5 Dual 2.0 was giving me problems similar to yours. My solution was to buy a Pioneer DVR-111, everything works like it should now. Oh, the price was about $35 for the new DVR and 15 minutes work installing it.

  • PE10: AVCHD burn to DVD error

I am trying to burn a DVD image to a folder in AVCHD format &  after the burn 99% complete a little message appears under the complete bar that says just error.
No files are in the folder. No other indication or suggestions appears.
Does the AVCHD to DVD work.?
    How should I proceed?

What model of camcorder is your original video coming from and what format and resolution is it?
When you started your Premiere Elements project, which settings did you select? You can see your project settings under the Edit menu.
Have you ensured that you have the latest version of Quicktime, per the program's requirement, and that the program has been registered and activated?

  • Dvd error message on mac supported dic not available?

Commerically available but ordered via Amazon  CD or DVD gives me this error message  "supported disc not available"

Not sure of your precise question, but if your Mac is having trouble playing a commercial DVD (video) and having trouble with audio CDs, then it sounds like a hardware problem, ie, your optical drive (CD/DVD) isn't working right.  Are you trying to play a DivX disk?  BluRay?
This forum is focused on creating DVDs with iDVD software.  Other forums focus on hardware, playing DVDs with Apple's DVD Player, etc.

  • Qosmio G30-153 HD DVD error message - Unable to play back

After 6 months of great HD DVDV viewing (well four actual playing times) I now am unable to play any HD DVD's but instead get a message saying "Unable to play back. Please restart the computer. event code: 6".
Have deleted Toshiba HD DVD programme and reloaded from 'Drivers and Tools' back-up CD but to no avail.
Audio CD's and std DVD's work ok, just not HD DVD's. Sometimes I get a black screen, the little control panel shows something iis playing .e. the indicater moves left to right, but no audio is heard.
Is the disc player components of these laptops prone to failure?
    Any advice gratefully accepted.

Same thing happened to my machine. Although "chronicles of Riddick" plays fine. I bought "Bourne" collection and get that error message on all 3 discs so I think it has to do with security coding on the DVD itself. I bought this machine for to be able to play these things.
Hope someone out there can help.

  • Applications Install dvd error message

I have an iMac running Snow Leopard. I did a clean install.
Afterwards, I tried to install the Applications Install DVD, it opend the DVD, after I select the icon, Ireceive an error message
    that the install failed.
    Any suggestions.
    Thanks

I just came across this error while performing a fresh install of snow leopard on a 2010 iMac.  For me it was the application DVD, but this error may also show up for xCode from what I understand.  After some research, I discovered the error stems from an expired cyrtography certification.  Was rather annoyed that my restoration disc shipped with a $1700 computer has an expiration date, but this is not the proper time for that rant.
The "fix" is rather easy.  Just go into your system preferences and set the date back to before the cert expires.  I used some random date in 2010 to be safe.  The installer should work correctly now.  After installation, just reset your date to the current date.

  • Can't burn to dvd.  Message says dvd player is incompatible.

I am using a MacBook Pro running OS10.7.5.  I am using the burn folder to burn some files to a dvd.  I get a message that says "The disc can't be used because the dvd player is not supported" error code 0x80020025.
I have burned dvds before and have not had this problem.

That is a system/hardware issue, not an iDVD issue. I've asked the Hosts to move this to the Lion community.

  • DVD error message

This message appears after I insert a DVD.
"You cannot burn this disc in the Finder because the disc drive is not supported."
I recently installed a Samsung Super Writemaster SH-S202N/BEBN DVD writer and was hoping to backup on DVD's before I install Leopard to upgrade my computer. The new OS dvd is recognized but not blank DVD's. Has anyone had a similar situation? Is there another way I can backup my hard drive without spending money on an external drive?

I installed PatchBurn and now the drive recognizes DVD's. After I copy files to the DVD and drag to the burn disc in my dock I get a message that says:
"Sorry, the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occurred"
    error code -2147352509
Does anyone know why this may be?
