Burning a DVD-R .ISO?

So, i'm trying to run Bootcamp- I have a legit .iso of Windows 7 Ultimate, and I want to burn it to a DVD-R Memorex. I probably have the last version of MacBookPro that has a cd drive on it (Mid 2010 15 inch). So, I put the disk in, it recognizes it as a blank disk, everything's cool. I go to Disk Utility, cuz thats where someone told me to go, and selected the lowest speed since i've had troubles with this if it's not on 2.4X. It starts up.. and about 30 seconds later, it says so error about the disk not be acceptable. The thing is, I burned a copy of the thing using a friend's iMac, and it burned fine, and was legit because Bootcamp ran and Windows 7 started up.. only to crump because I had burned it at 4X. So, I inserted a fresh DVD-R (Same brand) and this thing happens again.. the question is, once it failed to burn, is the DVD-R ruined?

You use any CD/DVD installer as long as it is not a recovery CD/DVD for a specific machine.  If you burn the ISO then it's the same as if you downloaded from MSDN, Microsoft store, or any other Microsoft software channel.  But Apple nor Microsoft and I will be responsible if your running a cracked copy and you can also run into legal issues if it goes to that extent.

  • Chapter allocation is out of sync after burning to DVD or ISO

    Hi,
I have a menu with links to chapter points. When I run the menu preview everything works fine. But after I export the project to an .iso file (or to DVD) and play the DVD, a mysterious extra chapter point was created during the export and the last chapter was removed. This puts all the buttons out of sync.
I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that I'm burning a dual layer DVD as I've never encountered this problem before with single layer DVD's... but this is just a hunch.
    A couple of facts:
    * The problem persists on both DVD players I tested it on.
    * This phantom chapter is added to the main timeline somewhere close to 1/3 of the way. The timeline is 2hrs 10 mins long.
    * The final size of the ISO is 7.8 GB. When I remove the transcodes and compile a smaller version (viz. 4.7 GB) (still dual layer) the problem disappears and the buttons are in sync, but of course the quality of the picture is not satisfactory.
    * I'm at my wits' end.
    Please help.
    D

With a DL title and a single timeline a chapter point at the start of the second layer is unavoidable. If Encore can't find an existing chapter marker in the window it has to put in the layer break, it is forced to create a new one.
As for the overrides: While there is nothing wrong with the override option by itself, it is quite easy to lose track of what is going on in your project when using overrides. A safer and easier option would be to create a
    playlist.

  • Does adobe have a product that can burn a dvd from an iso image?

Does adobe have a product that can burn a dvd from an iso image?
(The ISO image is not video, it is software).
    and
Does adobe have a way to mount an ISO image to a virtual drive?
    (Again not video)
I have encore, but have never used it. Im not sure what it does.
I assume it deals with dvd video but maybe it can handle ISO images.
    Thank you

    Hi
The error log doesnt provide any very useful information.
According to this error log the simulation was running correct but the burning process was not started.
In such case its very hard to say why it happens. Possibly the drive is damage and cannot calibrate the lens properly or you use not compatible medias.
The burning process depands also on the fiels and data which youwant to burn.
Some data, CD, DVDs are encrypted and its not possible to burn and to copy it.
In other case you could also try to burn the medias with lower speed and not with 24x.
But in worth case you the drive has a malfunction and you have to replace it ;(

Recently I bought a DVD burner and popped it in my 10.3.9 machine, and (after installing Patchburn) it read DVDs just fine. Whatever's going on, it's not an OS issue. If it was, can you imagine the how much noise there would be about it? Again, there have been a few posts on the forums about it, but that tells us all something -- this is an isolated issue and not a general OS issue.

  • Burning a DVD from CS4 on a Windows 7 computer

I'm unable to burn a DVD from the edited timeline in CS4.   I have Windows 7 Home Premium software loaded on my PC.  When I go from Dynamic Link to Encore I get an error message stating Encore is not compatible with my PC.  How can I burn a DVD using CS4 and Windows 7?

Some people have problems with Dynamic Link, so first do it the old fashioned way to see if Encore works at all

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the slowest possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no DVD player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help
Use Taiyo Yuden single layer or Verbatim dual layer
Or Falcon Pro for inkjet printable dual layer

  • Best export options in QuickTime Pro to burn a dvd with?

I'm trying without luck to establish a workflow where i edit original content (combine image and sound, add credits) in QuickTime Pro then i need to burn the resulting movie to a dvd. This seems near to impossible.
I have finally figured out i need third party software to do more converting before it can be burned (i worry that every conversion robs a bit more quality - i had to do conversions initially to get my content from dvd given to me by the videographer or from my VHS-to-DVD converter into QT Pro, what a pain!). So i've got something called DVDFlick to convert into ISO image containing VOB structure, then use ImgBurn to actually burn the ISO image to cd, to get a playable dvd.
What i can't figure out is what is the proper format to export out of QT Pro? I tried DV/DVPRO and AVI both, but those resulted ultimately in audio skips on my commercial dvd players, as well as a movie that won't play the audio in Windows Media Player, but will in other DVD software players.
I was under the impression i needed to export as MPEG-2, but i can't find that anywhere in QT Pro export options. I notice there is an MPEG-2 add-on for Windows from Apple Store, but it only talks about playback from dvd, not going in the opposite direction like i am, where i want to save as MPEG-2 from Quicktime Pro. Please help make sense of all this
    -steve

Sorry, but you cannot export from QuickTime as MPEG-2. As you discovered, the MPEG-2 Playback Component is, as the name implies, for playback only. You'll need to work with the developer of your DVD creation software to determine why you're getting audio skips. Normally a DV export works well, but as they say, your mileage may vary. Any export will depend on the quality of the source media. You may need to look into different software for creating and burning your DVDs if DVDFlick continues to give you problems.
    Regards.

  • When burning a DVD from Elements 13, it freezes at 90%

when burning a DVD in elements 13, it freezes at 90% and locks up elements until I cancel burn.

    Jerry Jarrett
If you wish to pursue your question about burn to disc, then I would be glad for the opportunity to be of assistance.
The following would be my troubleshooting strategy and questions
    1. What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running on?
    2. Have you looked at the issue with and without the Intel HD Graphics 2000 and Higher preferences disabled
    (See Edit Menu/Preferences/General)?
    3. Where are you in Publish+Share/Disc/, DVD, AVCHD, or Blu-ray? And, what does the burn dialog's Quality Area
show for Space Required and Bitrate? What brand/type/capacity disc are you using?
    4. Is the issue specific to one Timeline in one project? Or, is the problem there with another Timeline content and another
    project.
I would prefer to see you sort out the burn to disc issue if possible because of the download problems associated with the 3rd party software
that is typically needed to obtain the disc product from the Premiere Elements VIDEO_TS, BDMV, or ISO Image. Excellent 3rd party software if you

How do I lower the write speed for burning a DVD?  It gives me no option!

Export the dvd as an image from Encore, then use Imgburn to make the discs. I usually export a dvd folder from Encore and then use Imgburn to create the iso and do the burning

From your screenshot in post 4, your issue appears to be that the program is not recognizing your burner in the burner location field. To be safe, click on the tiny triangle to the right of the burner location field to make sure there are no hidden list of burners there.
For your consideration along with other contributions to this thread
    1. Program uninstall/free ccleaner run through with regular and registry cleaner parts/reinstall with antivirus and
    firewall(s) disabled.
For Windows CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
    2. If you have only a DVD burner, and not a Blu-ray DVD burner, then
CD, DVD drive not recognized after Adobe application install | Windows
    3. As for burn to ISO Image (for .iso file) or Folder (for VIDEO_TS Folder), see ImgBurn for either but be careful with the download and install because of unwanted programs that come along with the download. Details for how to available on request.
    4. If you go with the burn to disc, there is another problem that you may be facing, that is, the program giving you a Media Not Present message in Status after the program finally recognizes your burn. Disk replacement is not always the answer to that one.

  • Image burn into dvd

I have downloaded both DVD images from sun.com. sol-10-u5-ga-x86-dvd-iso-a.zip and sol-10-u5-ga-x86-dvd-iso-b.zip pls guide me how to burn in dvd, just rename the file in .iso or any other method have to apply.
    Neeraj Jain

And if all else fails, follow directions :-) :
    http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/download_instruction.xml
Note that these directions still say "u4" and refer also to a type of Windows-only install that is no longer available. But the info you need to join the images is there.
Also you may or may not have noticed that there is an option when you first go to the S10 5/8 Download page to select the full image for download. This download avoids having to put the pieces back together.

  • Help. Help Please, burning to DVD through APE 10

ok So have been with PE. for years and have just bought a super PC, and forked out for APE 10.... so have just built my movie . with chapters etc . and have now come to burn .....as is my way i burn the file first to file as VOB ... Then normally i burn this using DVD shrink 3.2... But this time for some reason it did not work so i thought i'd burn straight from APE through the "Share" Button (same button as to burn to file) any way (I'm looking at it now as I type) of course there are x3 options (1) burn to DVD. (2) Blu-ray. and (3) AVCHD... ok so follow this .... i opted to burn to DVD but it does not recognise that i have a burner ... now i know your gonna say ...hit the rescan button (Next to the "Burner location button) ... well done that 100 times +  to no avail ... BUT strangly enough... if i chose the option to burn to AVCHD ....Low and behold the burner is there ...("D Optiarc DVD RW AD-7261S") but as you can't play AVCHD files on a normal DVD player i am now stuck as to how to finish off my project... SO would really appreciated some intel on this problem...
    Am running WIN 7
Have NERO 7 on it (as i need this for DVD shrink to work)
running DVD shrink 3.2 ... the free version.
C'mon out there some one must have a work round .... Please

  • Sound problems with film made in iMovie when burned to DVD in iDVD

    PLEASE HELP!!!
I have upgraded to iLife 09 and for all the bad that people have to say, I actually like it a lot. Anyway, it gave me the encouragement I needed to play with some old home movies I had stored with the aim of producing DVDs to give to my friends, and hopefully showing off the slick production values I have come up with.
So after spending a week getting to grips with iMovie and editing an old holiday film with all the cuts, transitions, chapter markers and music etc that I wanted, I ended up with an hour long movie that I was happy with.
Then to iDVD. After trying out all sorts of ways to go from iMovie to iDVD to ensure the best quality, I have finally given up trying to replicate the on screen quality of the movie in iMovie with the finished DVD, and just opted for the easy to use 'share to iDVD' option. The quality is not great, but then the footage is old anyway so not too much of an issue.
Then I spend another few days playing with and learning iDVD and again end up with a finished product that I am happy with, with nice looking menu's and a slideshow etc.
So I come to burn the final DVD, for which I pick the 'Professional burn' option which takes 4 hours but I am happy to wait if it means the best quality possible, and my DVD is done.
I then play the DVD to discover my problem - the sound in the movie is not right. To explain further, in my movie I have reduced the sound of some of the film clips to nothing and placed music over the top. When played and previewed in iMovie it works fine - the music plays and the sound that is attached the the video does not. When previewed in iDVD it works fine - just as I had edited it in iMovie. But then when I burn the DVD, some of these sounds are present again which completely wastes all my hard work at the editing stage.
I have searched and searched for help on this but am unable to find any.
Sorry for the very long description and story behind my issue, but it is massively frustrating. Basically, at some point during the 'burn to DVD' stage in iDVD it decides to completely ignore most of the sound edits I have made on the movie in iMovie.
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance.

Many thanks. Looking at that thread it looks like there are a few others having the same issue as me. Might be to do with not using the predetermined rates for clip slowdown and inputting my own.
The frustrating thing is that I have only done this once right at the start of my hour long movie and if I change it now it with though the timing of my whole film out.
Not much else I can do though I suppose.

  • Shaky Video when Burned to DVD

    Hello all,
Call me an amatuer when it comes to camcorders. I have a Sony DCR-SR40 HDD camcorder and when I take video recorded on this device, transfer to my Mac, and then edit in HD 6, the video (when played back on a DVD) comes out shaky for action video where people are moving. It is almost like there are tracers when they are moving.
When the raw footage is played back in its native mpg format it looks fine, and when it is burned using Sony's "One Touch" DVD burn the video is not shaky or look like it has tracers, it looks fine. I am thinking it has to do with the quality of the image being recorded by the video camera and that when it gets compiled/burned to DVD it causes the shakiness. It has done this in iMovie HD 6 and in Adobe Elements 3.0. Is there a fix for this?
If it is just a camcorder issue, any recommendations for a good quality camcorder to capture sports footage (Football) that would burn great in iMovie and not have that shakiness/tracers?

    >MPEG2 exported from Premeire, to quicktime, to encore
That is, to me, a backwards work flow
Mpeg2 is an output format... but you are using it as your source file in Premiere... what is the source of the file?
Read Bill Hunt on a file type as WRAPPER http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037
    What is a CODEC... a Primer http://forums.adobe.com/thread/546811
What CODEC is INSIDE that file? http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... a screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing
    For PC http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ or http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en
    For Mac http://mediainfo.massanti.com/
You are then exporting to Quicktime... which Encore must then encode to MPEG2 to make a DVD (the VOB on a DVD is a renamed MPEG)
You are starting with a compressed file... exporting which may add more compression... and compressing again in Encore... it is no wonder your DVD has lost quality
