Burning a Podcast to a CD

I want to burn a Podcast onto a CD. Is this possible? I brought an audio podcast into iTunes, and now I want to burn it onto a CD but there isn't a "burn" button like there normally is for an audio file. Do I need to convert it somehow?
Thanks!

I figured it out on my own.

Is there anyway to burn a podcast? My dad is pretty nondigital but there a some podacsts I wanted to copy for him so he can listen in his car.

As far as i know, podcasts are just mp3s so you should just be able to make a playlist of the podcasts you want and burn to a cd.

  • How to burn a podcast to Audio CD?

OK, so it's "old-fashioned" but I need to burn a playlist of podcasts to an audio CD.
No, not to an ipod - to a CD.
When I try, it isn't compatible. I suppose it's because the podcast is coming from a URL. The formats are not synching.
So bottom line question is: how do I reformat a Podcast so that it will burn to an audio CD?
    Thanks for the help.

    Sunzanna,
My problem was similar, I think; My podcast playlist would "copy" to an Audio CD but the file size was typically 8 or 9 kb-no data there. After many failed workarounds changing formats, etc., I sucessfully recorded my tracks by choosing the "Data CD or DVD" radio button in the "Burn Settings" window which pops up when you select the "Burn" button. There is a warning that the subsequent product may not play in all players-They play fine in my car CD player, however. Good luck.

  • Is it possible to burn a video podcast?

When I try to burn some Podcast, all I get is sound. I'm a recent convert from windows, but with a lot of computer experience in general. Bought my iMac in Jan of 07. Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing something, or can it be done at all?
    Thanks,
    Bill

You can set iTunes -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Burning to 'Data CD'. This will burn the selected files as computer files to a CD or DVD. It will not create a DVD that can play in a home entertainment DVD (movie) player.
You can use iDVD for a movie style DVD if the source video is not protected by DRM.

  • Burning Podcast Onto CD-RW **And** Editing Podcast Into Sections?

    I use iTunes to burn podcasts onto CD-RW's. I had a iPod Mini, but I dropped it and now it's toast. Currently, the CD-RWs work fine. {I'm too poor to buy another iPod.}
iTunes automatically burns a podcast onto TWO CDs if the podcast is too long to fit on one CD. That is fine. What I want iTunes to do is separate the podcast on EACH CD into 'sections' so I do not have to FAST-FORWARD through the whole thing to get to the last 5 minutes of each podcast. Sort of like making one podcast into several. I cannot find anything in my iTunes 'Help' to do this.
I tried searching the discussion database here for this info, but I didn't see anything like this listed.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

In my opinion, iTunes is the worst burning program I've ever had the displeasure to use. My advice is to use some other burning program. Most spoken podcasts are MP3s, so you have many options.

  • Burning podcast in iTunes USED to create multiple tracks

I have in the past burned podcasts with multiple chapters to an audio CD. This used to create a cd with multiple tracks. Making it easy to skip around from chapter to chapter by skipping tracks on the CD.
Now with my new 27in imac and latest software updates. When ever I burn a podcast to a CD, I get it all as one track on the CD.
I'm trying to burn some of the same AAC podcasts that I've burned before. So that is not the problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions ? Or is this new single track a new 'feature' ?

  • Problem burning my enhanced Podcast (.m4a files)

    Hello together,
Since i have updated to the new iTunes 8.2 i've got some real problems, with burning my Podcast Sessions. (itpc://www.marcomendez.ch/?feed=podcast)
For all my subscribers out there with an iPhone or an iPod touch i create all my podcast episodes as enhanced Podcast. So that they can browse it easily. (Track for Track)
Before i installed the new iTunes, burning my mixes and all other m4a mixes and podcasts of other artists have been splitted track to track on the CD. So i could easily switch between the different tracks in my car, when listening. Unfortunately, with the new iTunes version, the whole mix is burnt as one track. So that i get 1 track with 60 minutes music...this is pretty sad... :((
    This anyone have a solution?!

I downloaded the 64-Bit version of iTunes 8.2 for my pc running Vita - found the same problem with enhanced podcasts. Real bummer! Am considering reinstalling 8.11.

  • Burning  podcasts using different software

The CD burner that came with my computer doesn't work right so they downloaded NERO 8 onto my computer, but I don't know how or even if it is possible to burn a podcast using other software. Do the podcasts simply have to be in the Music Library and then that file imported to the other software? Thanks

I have never uses iTunes to burn CDs, Nero should work. Most podcasts come as mp3 files. These should be playable in other devices. Not sure about importing to the other software. Normally I just tell it what files I want burned then insert disk and start the burn.

  • 5002 Error when trying to submit my Podcast

Everytime I try and submit my podcasts feed url(http://feeds.feedburner.com/controller1gaming) and after I type in and try to log in with my login info right after it always gives me an error which reads:
"We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occured (5002).
There was an error in the iTunes store please try again later."
I have since installed iTunes on 2 of my other computers and got the same problem on all 3 computers, as well as on 3 different log in accounts (all registered to the same billing info).
I have no idea what to do to fix this, I searched and found that many people have had this same error however none of them related it to submitting a podcast, almost all of them dealt with downloading itunes music and getting this error (I never buy/download anything but podcasts on iTunes).
So if anyone has any idea how to fix this, or can please give me a link to where I would contact itunes about this, or better yet a telephone number to call in the US it would be grealty appreciated.

I tried something else just now, in an attempt to see if the problem was perhaps having something to do with me registering and burning my podcast on my computer using feed burner I had a friend make his own feedburner account, and burn my podcast feed from wordpress. He still got the error (and we are talking about someone else on the other side of the united states).
    So some new conclusions:
-I have tried using multiple feedburner accounts, one even not even registered by me myself, error occurs.
-I have tried using wordpress and blogger as two different sites to take the feed url from when burning to feedburner, still got error.
-I have used ourmedia as well as archive.org as my mp3 hosts and still got the error.
My conclusion? I seem to be running out of ideas really, the onlything I have not tried but would like to would be having someone register their own ourmedia account, upload my mp3, register their own wordpress blog and put my mp3 on there, and then burn that wordpress feed on feedburner and try submitting the feedburner link to itunes, that is really the only idea I have left (by doing that it basicaly voids out any interuption I might be causing on my home computers somewhere along the lines).
If someone where who is successfuly able to submit podcasts to itunes and wants to help me out in my idea vplease respond here with your email adress, (best option as I dont check my mail often) or if you use AIM my screen name is ReverieGamer.
I am truly beginning to believe that this is a problem with itunes now however I cannot be sure (I have even installed a slightly older version of itunes on my pc and tried and still a no go)

  • Podcasts to Audio CD

I have recently started copying podcasts onto Audio CD for listening to in my car. However, some podcasts last for longer period than what would normally fit onto a CD. These podcasts are NOT enhanced podcasts with chapter markers.
Is there anyway, or will ITunes, burn a podcast to multiple CDs. eg, first 80 minutes of the podcast to the first CD, then the remaining period of the podcast is burned to a second CD?
Any assistance to learn more of this topic would be appreciated.

You should be able to add podcasts to a regular playlist to burn, just make sure that you are selecting one episode of the podcast at a time and adding it to the playlist. If that method doesn't work, what error messages are you getting?

  • Disc burner software not found (iTunes 10.1.2)

I am using iTunes 10 and have just started having problems in burning CDs within iTunes. I am trying to burn some podcasts on the CD (in audio CD format) and every time I try, I get an arror message that the disc burning software is not found.
Can anyone help in rectifying this?
On a different note, does anyone know how to mark a podcast as 'listened to' without listening to it via iTunes? When I burn a podcast to disc, it's not marked as listened to on iTunes and then after about 4 or 5 downloads, it suspends downloads as it thinks I'm not listening to them.
    Thanks

This is interesting -- I have tried to burn the disc again and now iTunes is working fine.
I'd say that perhaps I just overworked the drive, but that seems like too easy a solution. I've been noticing some oddities with my video drive lately, so maybe it is related.
Either way, thank you for your help so far -- I hope it doesn't relapse!

  • Itunes 8.2.1 Breaks CD Recording.

On my laptop, a 2.13G Mac Book Pro, I went to record a podcast, and got the error "disk burner or software not found".
I figured I worry about that later.
The next morning, on my Dual 1.8 PPC Powermac, I burn the podcast. Before I take off for the day, I get the notice that updates are ready, including iTunes 8.2.1. I let it upgrade and leave for the day.
Now, this morning, I try to burn another CD, and now my PPC Mac is giving me the exact same error.
Both machines could burn CDs with every update through 8.2.
8.2.1 killed burning on both hosts, one Intel, one PPC.
    Suggestions?

An additional reboot (in addition to the reboot required by the Safari 4.0.2 update that was installed with iTunes 8.2.1..) seems to have solved the issue.
I have a couple more macs awaiting the update, so I'll test it again.
It seems strange that the reboot that installed the update wasn't sufficient..
    Anyways, sorry for the noise...

  • Can listen to MP3's in Car

This is probably a dumb question but I burned a podcast to CD and converted the file to mp3 using the Itunes burner but when I play the CD in my Kenwood DDX812 I cant hear it. The file is playing because the timer starts but again, no sound. I have burned CD's and they played in the DDX but they werent converted to mp3 they were just regular audio files.
Any ideas, help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
FYI - My stereo is a Kenwood DDX812 w/ DVD and should not have a problem reading mp3's.

There is no such thing as "converted the file to mp3 using the Itunes burner." iTunes burning can create an MP3 CD from tracks that are already in MP3 format, or it can burn an audio CD from any tracks in its library. Pls explain exactly what you did, and we will get to the bottom of it.

  • Do I have to pay someone to come and solve a problem with making audio cds?

I do not seem to get any answer to the question of itunes not allowing me to make an audio cd.
I have posed the question and waited a week for replies. I have searched the archives and have found others with a similar problem, and yet the question remains unanswered??
I would give anything to have my playlists on a cd to play in my car!!!!

Fujitsu Siemens   Windows XP   IPOD 80GB Black itunes 7.2

    Hi Nikki,
I assume you have followed the trouble shooting in iTunes help?
Here are things to note and try:
Make sure you're trying to burn a playlist (a list of songs). You can't burn a disc directly from your library, the Radio, a shared playlist, or your iPod.
If you burn a CD or DVD but the right songs aren't copied, or if nothing happens when you click the Burn Disc button, make sure the correct songs are checked in the playlist.
To create an audio CD, make sure you have an Apple Combo drive drive or SuperDrive. Some third-party CD-RW drives also work. To see if an external drive works with iTunes, choose iTunes > Preferences, click Advanced, and then click Burning. If your drive is listed, it's compatible.
Make sure the correct disc format is selected: Choose iTunes > Preferences, click Advanced, and then click Burning. To create a CD with any type of audio file that iTunes supports (MP3, AAC, AIFF, and so on), choose "Data CD or DVD." If the playlist you're trying to burn includes AAC files, make sure MP3 CD is not selected.
If your playlist includes iTunes Store purchases, you may have exceeded the number of times (seven) you can burn this playlist.
If CD burning stops at a particular song, the playlist might include iTunes Store purchases that haven't been authorized to play on this computer. To authorize this computer, double-click the purchased song (where CD burning stopped) and enter the information for the account that purchased the song. You can authorize up to five computers at a time.
If your computer or display goes to sleep while you're burning a CD, try increasing the sleep timing settings in the Energy Saver pane of System Preferences.
If a burned CD stutters when you play it in an external CD-RW drive, try an internal drive or a stereo system.
If your CD burn is unsuccessful and your external drive becomes unresponsive, turn the drive off and on to reset it.
If you can't eject a blank CD, click the Eject Disc (in the bottom-right corner of the iTunes window).
Movies purchased from the iTunes Store can't be burned to a DVD or VCD that will play in a DVD player or Video CD.
One thing that struck me was the computer authorisation! Take it your PC is authorised ok?
This is a really annoying problem for you and you have my sympathies.
I can't really offer much help, other than when I create a playlist to play from my iPod through my car cd/radio player, because it is wired into it, I have to preceed each playlist with a number, eg 1 Rock, 2 R&B, 3 Jazz and so on.
Maybe try this, though you shouldnt have to!
Also have you tried burning a podcast or ripping a cd and burning tracks from that?
Finally how about downloading a DRM free song from iTunes to see if that makes any difference.
    Good luck
